1661  Economy / Economics / Re: how to overcome inflation for the community on: January 21, 2023, 03:03:07 PM
Buy gold that is a proven asset to perform constantly in all kinds of economic crises and investing in other assets including bitcoin can help you to avoid the inflation trap.

Never store more money than you need for the next 3 or 6 months and this will also be used at the time of emergency (never forget your insurance).

Consuming domestic goods doesn't necessarily mean you can save money, from my observation its more expensive than we buy from the market so I am not following it unless we get the products for cheaper.
1662  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin always shames social media experts. on: January 21, 2023, 07:07:15 AM
Prediction is more or less likely a gamble so there is no assurance that it will become true even the most renowned predictionist proved to be wrong with many of his predictions.

These social media influencers are not really experts but try to manipulate the market with their influence to make money which also not become success on most instances so don't trust predictions and make your own and go beyong it.
1663  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be patience when you trying to make transactions on your wallet on: January 20, 2023, 03:10:33 PM
Always use the freshly created address to deposit in case you're going to deposit into an exchange because some exchanges do have an address expiry policy even though an address will never expire so be careful with that. And apart from that its a well-known fact the if you want to lose your coins then simply copy and paste the address without crosschecking it thoroughly.
1664  Other / Meta / Re: Binance pays Google Ads with the word "bitcointalk" on: January 20, 2023, 11:14:22 AM
You're right because in my region I didn't get any such ads when I search bitcointalk and tried other keywords too but nothing comes up related to binance with adblocker disabled.

These advertising algorithms are not that easy and it doesn't really focus on one keyword but it's probably true that Binance is paying more which is why their ad is shown first when crypto-related keyword are entered.
1665  Economy / Gambling / Re: [DUCKDICE.IO HOLDING MY MONEY] Banned Account with Money on: January 20, 2023, 10:37:03 AM

So in your opinion, improving the regulations is shady behavior? After all, it's all about developing and improving services. (Besides, this happened a few years ago.)

As for unresolved cases, could you give some examples? Because I have the impression that you are throwing words here that are not covered by facts.
Improving their service is welcomed but how they do it matters or at least for me as I said if they are going to deal with it in the harshest way like banning the account and forcing them to withdraw the deposited funds when their system is affected by a glitch or something because I feel the reputed casino at least will compensate the user won rewards with some money instead of saying you didn't win anything.

About the unresolved accusation, I feel the one on the trust page itself is unresolved and there are many come up when I search but I don't want to go through all of those and prove it to anyone.
1666  Economy / Gambling / Re: [DUCKDICE.IO HOLDING MY MONEY] Banned Account with Money on: January 19, 2023, 03:40:27 PM
There is no unresolved accusation !

And would appreciate it if you'd actually take a look through the posts of this thread and the one you linked and not base your response off a thread title.

I went through the thread and this is what the casino responded and mark the case as resolved.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1676313.msg20368185#msg20368185

1. we've disabled deposit bonuses and currently working on a new algorithm based on your feedback and a new detailed and clear bonus policy.
2. we've refunded the initial deposit to Ozafejyw782 (it's already on a balance). There were people mentioning that we should revert the balance to the moment before cancellation – and this would be the easiest and acceptable solution for everyone, however (unfortunately) this is not technically possible, we just don't have this possibility.

So we believe now this issue has been resolved.

So all they did is refunded the deposited amount not the amount actually won by user and the casino made changes to their policies after when someone won a big amount, maybe its not shady for you but IMO its shady and I won't trust a casino with such kind of resolution in case of an accusation.
1667  Economy / Gambling / Re: [DUCKDICE.IO HOLDING MY MONEY] Banned Account with Money on: January 19, 2023, 03:20:27 PM
Hi, welcome to the forum. duckdice.io is an authentic and good reputed platform.

I don't know how you came to such conclusion because is DuckDice.io known for their shady behaviour and unresolved accusation and if you don't know about this please take a look at their trust page: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=917361

OP, if you're accusation is true the chances of getting the funds back is slim in my opinion but you better post about your issue in their ANN and also move this to the scam accusation board to get their response.
1668  Economy / Economics / Re: Reserve Bank of India Governor Calls for an Outright Crypto Ban on: January 19, 2023, 08:37:54 AM
What he is trying to do is to crush the technology which really extinct the banking system if adopted as early as possible by spreading false information.

AFAIK, the current ruling party especially the finance minister of India has no knowledge about anything so they will completely believe what the authorities report to them so it's kind of a hard phase for them to survive.
1669  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ads might drain your wallets on: January 19, 2023, 08:19:54 AM
I'm not sure that Ublock origin can work on a smartphone, looks like it's built for PC users only so, which AdBlock is best for android phone users without getting the phone rooted or exploit because that's what my research is telling me, that ad blocker works better on a rooted android phone and I'm not ready to root mine.

No adblock for android is the most recommended so far for unrooted devices, just found adguard[1] (if you are willing to pay) which I think is at least what you asked for. While not open source, they do have a github page to track their development activity[2].

1. https://adguard.com/en/adguard-android/overview.html
2. https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdguardForAndroid

If not willing to pay they can use opera or brave which comes with a built-in ad blocker in their browser so enabling it can save a lot of headaches due to annoying pop-ups and ad page redirection but based on my experience its not completely to avoid ads in android (never used paid apps for blocking ads) so we have to be little more cautious while surfing unfamiliar websites and click back when pop up shows with no regrets at all.
1670  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is it possible to delivered or received goods by keeping the location secret?! on: January 17, 2023, 06:40:56 PM
Choose a ghosted house nearby your location and give that address to the sender but obviously you need to enter your real name or else you can't prove the parcel is actually yours then track the package and obviously you will be notified at the day of delivery so you can go there and receive it so your real address won't be exposed to an online trader but its little bit too much of work I will simply choose the Amazon to buy anything.
1671  Economy / Economics / Re: A career - as an employee or a business owner which do you prefer and why? on: January 17, 2023, 04:40:05 PM
I prefer to be a business owner but if the job is paying a good amount of money then why wouldn't I take it?
I like to be a business owner because they hold their own time unlike being an employee they need to be on time.
And when you are a business owner even if you decide to take a leave or you would still have an income unlike when you're an employee when you leave or skip work it would affect your salary.
No one is going to make more than the owner if its profitable so as an employee we will get the basic salary of contract we signed up by the company and the progress of salary hike depends on our skills, productivity to the company but its safer because we will get minimum pay every month or week.

Being an employer or business owner comes with less physical task and more mentally stressful circumstances for example if you're a realtor then competitive one will try to overcome your success and they will keep doing it everyday so you have to work on it everyday if you don't want to left behind. And don't think being an owner means we can take leave whenever we want and expect to be in profits.
sometimes we think owner is menting so much money but that is not always true. Most of the time owner is  cleaner - dispatcher - runner and cashier.
So its not right to think owner is menting money and we are not getting money
That's why I mentioned when the business is running successfully its obvious that owner is going to make more money than the employees and if the owner is also doing the job of an employee to cut down a salary its more money because its double the job so returns are according to it.
1672  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: An honest answer on mining with solar on: January 17, 2023, 03:10:30 PM
Building a completely off-grid solar power station to run the rig is highly expensive in Nigeria and if someone is okay with that then they need to calculate power consumption per day and the battery requires to store that power and obviously solar panels which almost 10 or 20 times of your rig investment capital that is why we don't see more miners based on renewable sources unless they are having cheap solar panels and on-grid solar supply.
1673  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: [P2P]Is there anyone who knows good bank for P2P trading ? on: January 17, 2023, 02:54:30 PM
Hello all,

I would like to know if some of you are making P2P trading ? and if yes if you know some banks to do the P2P trading. IT appears that most of them would block you after you receive too much monney transfer from unknown person on your bank account.

Is there any community to speak about it on this forum ?

thank you all
It depends on your country and what kind of bank account do you have irrespective of bank name because each bank has to follow the rules of regulations of their respective central bank.

But as a p2p trader, I can tell you why most of the bank accounts suspended after p2p trading is you traded with a scammer who hacked a random bank account and used to buy crypto assets with you so later victim report it to the bank the money transferred from victims to others may be locked until you give further explanation.
1674  Other / Meta / Re: How many forum members do you know by real name? on: January 15, 2023, 08:13:28 PM
I didn't know anyone personally via forum and who know about my name, definitely I had some conversations with forum members but which is not that intense to know their real identity and I hope no one knows about me too beyond Dory. Grin
1675  Economy / Speculation / Re: I think Bottom is gone on: January 15, 2023, 04:27:55 PM
the bottom is set. it still sits at ~$15k and the speculative market could test that again
i dont see it going below that again(unless multiple months of hashrate being below 2022 levels). its set and tested well, but the price can come back down to/near that again.
but chances are lower than q3-q4 2022 now the $17k resistance (top for period) has gone

the speculative market was held artificially below a $17k top resistance by some futures traders wanting their new years $17k limit contracts to expire at new year.
and now they have removed the resistance to free speculation to trade above it.

however too early to call "bull"
last year saw resistance also at $22k $24k $32k $42k $52k
so we have to see where the next resistances(tops for period) come
(at time of posting: last 7 hours see an artificial flatline of <$21k .. this could be the next resistance if it doesnt break through soon)

as for market cap number.. its a meaningless number. dont put any emotion or thought into it.

I thought that price could fall even below $16K but for the past few days there has been a significant rise in the price and it almost reached $19K even though I don't know the exact reason for the bullish trend but it seems that bottom is over because we have been in the bear market for almost a year now there will be a correction and we can expect gradual growth.
1676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: betting against the Public, is this strategy working? on: January 15, 2023, 03:59:05 PM
If the strategy works the bettor will make huge returns compared to the bet amount but there is no reason for this strategy to work every time. You should make bets on who is the favorites to win the game based on the players strenth, current performance and lot of other factors depends on every game so don't simply go with against of odds which means high rewards with slim chance of making it.
1677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why most of airdrops don't pay participants with tokens in these days?? on: January 14, 2023, 08:50:48 PM
Hello, i was watching for few months now and got that most of airdrop campaigns specially airdrop bots on telegram  don't pay participants with tokens. it's a nature that many airdrop bots don't pay or scam participants after getting them promoted through users. but this time it's different i think. before few moths i received at least 10 airdrops per month and now it has been reduced to 2-3 drops per month although i worked even more harder on airdrop campaign.

What could be the reason ?? comment your ideas specially OGs. this is for you.

You already said most of the airdrops were just scams and if you see less airdrops these days literally means their scamming technique isn't effective anymore so they didn't try to attempt it any further.

For legit airdrops paying with tokens becomes a headache as well because the transaction fee is higher than what the token value they're going to transfer so this isn't really practical to spend 1000 to send 100 worth of tokens.
1678  Other / Off-topic / Re: My Journey with Type-2 Diabetes on: January 14, 2023, 07:28:56 PM
It's good to know that you kept the blood sugar level under control but I want to tell you something Diabetes isn't a disease but it's a medical condition which can neither be cured but kept under control as long as you do what has to be done. Ofcourse it can be done with or without medication depends on how much blood sugar levels you have.

My mother has type 2 diabetes as well but her blood sugar level isn't under control for years even with all the medications then only we know strict diet rule is also important to keep the levels low and now it's under control and dosage remains same as 1mg.
1679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction touched forum users in a very sad way... on: January 14, 2023, 04:43:39 PM
For the ones who do not follow Collectibles forum (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5434506.0):
Cold Key owner retrieved private keys of all the sold 'cold wallets' he produced and as he was in need because of gambling he stole all the funds.

Which (apart of obvious sad event for card buyers/owners) is a very problematic for the whole "collectibles" market, any coin/card producer now will be asked twice "how may I trust you?".

I was going through the thread and it was found shocking it's more about trading or buying something p2p than addiction and it proved humans can change.

Its unacceptable behavior and has already flag raised by the community members, even with the addiction still our character decides what we are about the pull-up, I had been in huge financial debt but paid all of them by selling the assets I own instead of turning them back because once the name lots we can't earn them back,
1680  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk on the phone? on: January 14, 2023, 04:06:42 PM
Do you all view Bitcointalk on you PC? I have tried to read thorugh the mobile phone, but it becomes an endless hortizontal scrolling.
Do you have any tips how to mingle on Bitcointalk with my phone?
I use chromium to browse bitcointalk on mobile and it works fine for me whenever I feel it's difficult to read I use the zoom-in and zoom-out features and it makes sense too because the screen is smaller in size on smartphones compared to desktops along with there is no bitcointalk version available to optimize the site according to your device specs.

You can use the landscape mode to get better coverage but I am not comfortable with it so I use zoom alone but my suggestion is you will get used to it once you have become familiar with bitcointalk.
