Updated the VMC GoldRush cards, for 0.65BTC I'll include everything needed to run them, with the exception of a PSU. This includes the ASIC, Corsair H100i, and various connectors and adapters. If you don't need the cooler, 0.40 BTC includes the ASIC, and the various connectors and doodads needed to run it.
1662  Other / Meta / Re: Why was the PayPal discussion thread removed from the altcoin section? on: December 12, 2014, 06:46:03 PM
There really isn't much point in arguing it. Unless we want to create a new board for fiat that uses some form of cryptography, for Banks, Credit Cards, Paypal, etc, Paypal will be considered Fiat, and Ripple will be considered a Cryptocurrency. Ripple is some sort of hybrid between Bitpay and a Cryptocurrency, so its close enough. Just like when the discussion was had about (original) Mastercoin when it was planned to be a layer ontop of the Bitcoin protocol, there was discussion as to whether it is considered an Alt Coin or part of Bitcoin. For the sake of organizing, it was an Alt Coin.

If we want to get real specific and talk about Cryptography's use in financial services, we would have to categorize near every fiat related business as a cryptocurrency (except Target and Homedepot teehee) for the sake of not over complicating things, if in doubt, if it deals in fiat its not a cryptocurrency. If it has a blockchain its probably a cryptocurrency.

This is what they do to they when you confront the powers that be:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=890205.0

They discredit you, defame you, insult you and destroy you.

Watch out people.

This is an example what they do to you when you try to counter them with the truth:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=889074.new#new

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=888883.0

These fake libertarians that run this forum are a bunch of Lenin and Pol Pot worshipers.

Who are the powers at be and who are them? The random guy that called you a scammer? Who is a fake libertarian? The Admin of the site just posted that they are Stalin. Are you alright? Why am I responding to you? You baffle me, do I like it? I don't know.

You finally found me out. I am literally Stalin. Bitcoin is secretly a communist conspiracy to take over the world. The glorious worker's paradise of the USSR will reign once more!

1664  Other / Meta / Re: Why was the PayPal discussion thread removed from the altcoin section? on: December 12, 2014, 01:56:11 AM
So then Ripple XRP is not a cryptocurrency because it is issued by a central authority, Ripple Labs. Am I right?

You are correct. Ripple is an open source payment processor that supports currencies. By their own admission.
1665  Other / Meta / Re: Why was the PayPal discussion thread removed from the altcoin section? on: December 12, 2014, 01:39:08 AM

key words in there being generation of currency units and the independence of central bank

i will take one if you change your mind about the cooler . Wink

The coolers are about $100 each (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181032) so I can't include it in the price of the ASIC, but, I can offer a deal on them if people need them in addition.
1667  Other / Meta / Re: Requesting theymos to remove Mabsark from DefaultTrust on: December 11, 2014, 10:24:52 PM
Default trust doesn't give anyone on it an "advantage" its a huge responsibility. Being on the default trust list means you give others appropriate feedback, it doesnt mean that you are without a doubt trustworthy. How trustworthy someone is should be a huge consideration when adding someone to the default trust list, but its about who you can trust to leave accurate feedback for others.

If I add someone to my trust list who is a jackwagon, its my responsibility. That sure is a pretty good motivator not to mess up the default trust list. If I add someone to my trust list who I don't have complete faith in, and they add someone who is a jerk, once again I'm held responsible. I'm not going to stake my own reputation so a friend of a friend of a friend can go on a perceived power trip. They get cut, and the system corrects itself.

If you want a system without default trust, all you have to do is look at "untrusted" and "trusted" feedback with the same weight. I don't give trusted feedback any weight unless its from personally someone I trust. If I see Badbear is trusted by Dingus, Doofus, and Dingleoid and I dont trust them even though they are on the default trust list, I dont value their feedback anymore than untrusted feedback. If Badbear is trusted by someone I trust default trustlist or not, that carries the most amount of weight.

What is your take about the situation described in the OP ? Mabsark is trusted by the DefaultTrust member CanaryInTheMine. Do u think any of the following acts done by Mabsark is correct ?

1. Leaving -ve feedback on businesses that has not scammed anyone, but competing a company, where he is a shareholder.

2. Leaving -ve trust on people talking against HaveLock, because he is a shareholder over there.

3. Did not leave -ve trust on Hashie, though they were doing everything same the others are accused of, except that they started to resell the hash power of a company, where he is a shareholder.

I'd rather not involve myself. What I can add constructively though, is if people think that what Mabsark has done is wrong, and Mabsark is not willing to change their feedback, you then ask CanaryInTheMine to reconsider their trust of Mabsark's. If Mabsark can't be trusted to give accurate feedback, the pressure is then on CanaryInTheMine to decide whether they want Mabsark's actions to represent them.

1669  Other / Meta / Re: Lets talk about the altcoin section again on: December 11, 2014, 07:20:12 PM
The original motivation that is still heavily a factor, is that if the alt coin section was removed, we would just have people spamming the rest of the boards with alt coin stuff. Essentially the same argument as having the Off Topic section.

This is why I proposed the creation of a new forum. If we kick out altcoiners now, they'll have nowhere to go, but if we migrated the existing section to a new forum for them first hopefully the majority will go over there and won't spam up bitcointalk.

It doesn't relate to Bitcoin, but its a place to put things that shouldn't go into "Bitcoin Discussion" or the likes. Another point is, people rush to call Alt Coins a scam, or that bad or seedy behavior from some Alt Coin players leaves a bad stigma on Bitcoin or something. That is sort of hypocritical, talking about Alt Coin scams is the same as talking about the Bitcoin scam because of Pirateat40, Nefario, or MtGox.

I totally agree. PayPal is a cryptocurrency, their shady business practices shouldn't affect Bitcoin's reputation.

Dev is a dutchbag

What do you have against the dutch?

My post isn't a shot at anyone in this thread in particular, but I've heard this argument so many times before, and it really still baffles me reading people's philosophies in other threads, and then seeing how quick they are to turn and prosecute Alt Coins for the children! or to prevent terrorism! or whatever else people want to yell to rally support. If you want to end what is bad with Alt Coins, do it with education and your bitcents.

But I'm not doing that. Don't get me wrong I'm not an "altcoiner" and my reasons for that is I do not see a compelling reason to use one, nor do I know of any altcoins that I trust. I am of the opinion bitcointalk should be mainly about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies whether they be Litecoin, PayPal, ApplePay or Dogecoin should be mainly discussed on their own forums. I think that BitcoinTalk has gone offtopic.

Right, I didn't mean to target you in particular, but 95% of the supporters you are going to gather in this thread are going to be here for more than just your reasons, I wanted to try and address as many possible. As far as creating an entirely new forum for Alt Coins, I dont think thats the way to go. With the new forum software I'm expecting there will be some serious improvements to the Alt Coin section and rest of the forum organization, but as far as creating a new forum, there are plenty of others just for Alt coins, but people still come here. While I don't think that Paypal could be considered a Cryptocurrency, for the purpose of our discussion that isn't important.

Unless I'm misunderstanding you, your biggest issue with the alt currency section is how it spills into the rest of the forum. To a certain extent there is no avoiding people posting in the wrong section. The forum staff moves hundreds of threads to more correct location per day, if something is out of place, just report it and we will get to it. I don't think removing the section and moving it elsewhere  or anything else will really prevent people from making the occasional accident of starting a thread in the wrong place, and those that do it on purpose are removed.

I could make the same argument that this is a Bitcoin forum, we shouldn't have a Politics and Society or Off topic section. I am of the opinion that Bitcoin, Alt Coins, and Politics and Society are all interrelated. Close enough to stay on the same forum, but if any measures to prevent spillage from the Altcoin section out could be taken it would be best to do so. The new forum software should open up a lot of doors for that sort of thing, and just waiting and carrying on is our best action.

That is sort of hypocritical, talking about Alt Coin scams is the same as talking about the Bitcoin scam because of Pirateat40, Nefario, or MtGox. A few bad actors shouldn't be the motivation for changing the rules that apply to a group. I'm sure that's a philosophy many of us hold dear. "Scam coins" are incredibly rare. A Scam coin is not a pump and dump coin, or a coin designed to make the owner rich, a Scam coin is something that compromises your other wallet.dats. If you invest in a shitty coin and it goes under, that's business. Do better research and invest accordingly, I can't believe that people especially here don't understand that.

I agree Alt Coins are not Bitcoins, but there is a huge double standard going on. Prevent Regulation! Cheers from one side of the room, and Think about the (children) Newbies?! from the other side. Bitcointalk doesn't moderate scams, it doesn't moderate people with crappy business plans that will most likely go under, because this is a new technology, people should be open to play about with it and see where it goes. If you are a new person, sure playing a 1,000 XCoins is probably a great educational experience for you. If XCoin flops because the Dev is a dutchbag or for errors in the code, hopefully you didn't lose much and got a really nice lesson. If you lost a lot, why the hell are you investing large sums of money if you don't know what you are investing it in?

First, please stop making topics, you responded in the other one, so why did you feel the need for another?

I can't begin to understand your argument. A thread about speculation was moved to speculation, and its censorship? What would the moderator's motivation be for trying to hide a speculation thread?

VMC card included the cooler?

The 0.5 BTC price doesn't include the Cooler, I've got two Corsair H100i's still sealed in box, and the one that is out of the box shown in the picture that I can add if needed.
1673  Economy / Computer hardware / [CLOSED] [WTS] Script Zesuminer and SHA ASICs on: December 10, 2014, 11:46:32 PM
Hey guys, I've got a few Asics I'm looking to sell. pictures are a little bit large, but detail is important (for the Fast Hash cards anyway).

(1) Zeusminer Lighting X6 42-45MHash @1000 Watts
(1) Zeusminer Thunder X6 22-25 MHash @ 500 Watts
(3) VMC Fast Hash Gold Rush 750?Ghash @ 750Watts?  0.40BTC
(3) Corsair H100i  0.25BTC
I ran the Zeusminer Asics for about two weeks, until I found out that they bumped my electricity bill up to a higher rate per KWH. They ran incredibly well, requiring no tinkering with after their basic setup. General PSA though they use server fans for cooling, so they aren't the most quiet machines. If you have a basement or a room away from your general living areas, they are fine and dandy, I had them placed in my living room where they gained the nickname, "The Bees"

As far as the Fast Hash (Hash Fast) Asics, they are an enigma. It seems that very few were produced, and there is little to no documentation for them. They use Hashfast chips (hehe) and this is the only information that I've been able to find about them. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=591368.0 and to boot! These seem to be a slightly different model (the heatsinks are not in play? See pictures) so I would recommend these to someone who has a bit of time to spend figuring out how they work. They use Corsair Liquid Cooling modules (H80/100i), which is really cool, if I knew how to set them up. I'm really looking to sell these to someone more competent than myself. I've got two that are brand new still sealed in box, and the one I tinkered about with before deciding that I'd probably break them if I tested them every way I could think of, so I'd rather pass them along to someone who knew what they were doing, and might appreciate the irony of having these Asics in their collection.

My listings above are for the Machines themselves, not including PSUs or peripherals, I've got enough power supplies to build a small house out of, and Corsair H100i's to match the Gold Rush cards. If you don't know the additional supplies needed to run the Asics (PSUs, Cables, Raspis, etc) I'd be happy to let you know, and I can sell those pieces, or you can find them from your own suppliers. I'm shipping from the East Coast US. If you have any questions, comments, general hate and discontent, please PM me.

Signed up as well. I've been getting into mining lately, but older equipment has been murdering my electric bill. I'd be happy to try out the hardware.

For the record since Ive got a few questions about the above posts. Yes an OP is allowed to specify that users aren't allowed to post in their thread. Once you have been asked not to post such as above, continuing to post in said thread can result in a ban. If you feel inclined you may make your own thread.
1676  Other / Meta / Re: Dank's final testimony on: December 09, 2014, 04:10:23 AM
Yeah, permanent bans have been reversed from time to time. Mathew N Wright, Atlas, and Goat were permabanned and then unbanned at some point (If I'm not mistaken) I'm sure it has happened to others as well. I'm not sure what the process is, a few months and a reasonable doubt that the person has changed whatever behavior got them banned perhaps.
1677  Other / Meta / Re: Dank's final testimony on: December 09, 2014, 03:51:21 AM
Are you able to see from any admin log (if such a thing exists...) as to who banned him? Not to witchhunt but so those that are interested can get a reason.

It doesn't exist, not that I'd share that information without the person involved's permission. That said, permanent bans, especially to established members aren't given out lightly. If its a five post spammer not as much thought and careful consideration needs to be put in, but for someone who has been around for a while like Dank, it wouldn't have been done haphazardly. Only admins and global mods can ban people, and I would imagine that a global moderator would have consulted an admin before banning Dank.

I'm not trying to shift blame onto Badbear or Theymos, it might not have been them, I'm trying to emphasize that Dank wouldn't be banned for the BTC he owed Squal, and he wouldn't have been banned carelessly. I can guarantee there was a lot of thought  involved, and most probably at the very least consultation with an admin.
1678  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: SkyHook Bitcoin ATM.. For personal Bitcoin purchase? on: December 09, 2014, 12:30:10 AM
You need to load the skyhook with your own bitcoins, skyhook doesn't sell the bitcoins. You make a blockchain.info wallet, link them through the backend, and it vends from there.
1679  Other / Meta / Re: Dank's final testimony on: December 08, 2014, 11:57:34 PM
See give a man a chance to change and see what happens, he is making effort to pay him back.

To be fair, Dank made a few payments to Squall, but then stopped. Either way, you don't get banned for being a scammer, whether you have good or bad intentions. I'm not sure why Dank got banned, my guess would be either spamming or posting things that made the admins worry about his mental state. He has been banned before, so I suppose he could have received a permanent ban for spamming, or he may have posted something that could have been considered a threat to himself or others. (just speculating I'm not entirely sure)
1680  Other / Meta / Re: Dank's final testimony on: December 08, 2014, 11:24:43 PM
I like Dank quite a bit. Hes a strange cat, but I think hes a good guy. Real doped up though. I'd like to share an amusing anecdote in Dank's memory.

A while ago (March I think?), I needed to convert some BTC to $ to make a trip. Having a bad relationship with Paypal, and my bank at the time for standard financial nonsense (freezing my account for months over a suspicious one time $500 payment from a well established financial institution outside of the US) so I figured I'd try my luck trading some Bitcoins for cash in the mail. I put up a listing, and Dank answered shortly after saying he would do it. Dank was still a marked scammer at this point because of the Squal loan, so I told him we could either escrow the Bitcoins or he could send to me first, so he elected to send the cash to me first. The exchange was 4.20 Bitcoins in exchange for $1420, $420 of which was to be paid to Squal as a monthly settlement they had agreed on a while ago to pay back his debt(which he did honor).

The next day Dank sends me a pm saying, sent it. I replied asking for a tracking number, and he said to me "just kidding" or something to that effect. I sort of thought he was high or trying to pull some sort of scam but my coins were safe so I didn't especially care, I just asked him to clarify. He told me he had mailed it out but didn't get a tracking number, he had sent it with faith. I asked him if he could send me a picture of the receipt so that I could figure out when the package would be here (really just looking for proof he had actually sent something) to which he responded that he had got a small flatrate box, put the $1420 in it, and covered it in $7 worth of standard letter stamps that he had purchased at Walgreens and jammed it in someone's mailbox. At this point I'm like, ok why would he even bother trying to scam me? He does know that if the package doesn't arrive, I'm just not going to send him the bitcoins right? Two days later, I open my mailbox and there is a small flatrate box half covered in stamps with the agreed on cash inside. I couldn't stop laughing...

Anyway, gave him his coins, he paid Squall, and I still have the box in my room nearly a year later.

Dank in my opinion is a good guy, just stoned out of his mind.
