Any suggestions? Am I being monitored by THE GOVERNMENT? (No kidding, this creeps me out and I'm considering starting to use VPN)
You're being monitored by several governments. How did you receive the notice? Are you sure it was from Facebook? That type of phishing email is pretty common.

However, it cointains similar IP that logged in to my account: "Received: from [10.80.169.69] ([10.80.169.69:57547])" No, probably not legit. http://www.hoax-slayer.com/facebook-secure-account-phishing-scam.shtmlI very much doubt the message is a phish. DKIM signatures aren't easy to fake. Also, opening facebook straight on the browser would also show the user the same security warning. No need to follow the link on the emails.

I did an upgrade and now Ubuntu will not boot. If you can fix it, I will pay you 2.5BTC. Probably you need to be damn good with Ubuntu and you need to be able to tell me in English (normal-people English, not technical speak) how to fix it. Send me a note at dave@tiptopgem.comThat same thing happened to me when updating from 11.04 to 11.10. Was an easy fix, don't remember anymore exactly what, but it was something as simple as deleting/editing a couple files.

Title: A Eulogy for #Occupy URL: http://www.wired.com/opinion/2012/12/a-eulogy-for-occupy/all/This says a lot about bitcointalk.org: Because the GA had no way to reject force, over time it fell to force. Proposals won by intimidation; bullies carried the day. What began as a way to let people reform and remake themselves had no mechanism for dealing with them when they didn’t. It had no way to deal with parasites and predators. It became a diseased process, pushing out the weak and quiet it had meant to enfranchise until it finally collapsed when nothing was left but predators trying to rip out each other’s throats.
Let us just hope that BitcoinTalk.org figures out that freedom of association is also a right, and as a private website BitcoinTalk.org has the freedom to not associate with users that an overwhelming majority of site users downvote or ignore. How do you prevent people making 50 accounts and downvoting people so they get banned ? Don't worry. When Jeff's wishes come true I'll unleash my bots on him and have him banned. eheheheheheheh j/k... ...or not....

Yes. You will have to take legal action if you want it back.
Still nice that PayPal was on my side, even if his CC company wasn't. They were on your side but they will follow whatever VISA/MC tells them to and the one losing money is you. Sorry, that's called taking care of their own ass, not being on your side.

People in here should calm down with dox'ing people. Im all with you if the person involved did actually scammed you, but you could do it more private, lets say in a private section of this forum, and the mods giving access there to some members after providing some proof, or some other way. I dont say that to protect any scammer, but it could possibly end sadly for the victim(s), according to laws.
Please, dont take this, what i typed, wrong
You mad cause you couldn't keep the BTC someone wrongly sent you? You were not innocent, you twat.

what nobody is talking about:
ripple apparently has its own virtual currency. this is the 'potential trojan horse'.
100 billion(?) units pre-mined? No, thanks. I'll pass. lol

This Ripple thing seems like paradise for confidence scammers.

Btw: bitcoin will begin to go mainstream in 50 days from now. I will bet my money on that.
Huh? It's going mainstream since almost 4 years and will continue to do so for a long while before any serious news outlet will ask "Is BTC mainstream?". Wired begs to differ. http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2012/12/wired-tired-expired/?pid=4182&viewall=trueEXPIRED: Bitcoin
At the height of its popularity, Bitcoin was trumpeted as a viable alternative currency for the internet age, a monetary system engineered to prevent theft, gaming, and criminalization. Then came the malware, the black market, the legal ambiguities and The Man. Today, you can't even use it to buy Facebook stock. Who?

Still need it? I can buy those 0.75 BTC from you.

Kindle Price: $6.89 includes VAT* & free international wireless delivery via Amazon Whispernet Sorry to say, but this ain't free. And yes, I have a Kindle. In celebration for the Holidays I'm making it available for free on 12/25 Meh. Shit. I always overlook dates, maybe because counting days is kind of meaningless to me. Most of time I don't even know which day of the week it is. Maybe I should work on improving that
