What will be interesting now is what he does with what he believes to be profits from an illegal venture.

2662  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: pirate payments list -- accounts paid: 22/459 on: August 30, 2012, 11:42:24 PM
It's fuckin bullshit that some accounts (the smaller ones he paid initially) were paid out 100%, while the bigger ones will most likely get fractional amounts.

How do you know?

How was "happiness" not in the wordlist of 80K words including "aahing?"

my account was banned  Sad

Do you realize that by saying it you can get this account banned also?
theymos is not very fond of people creating alts to evade bans.

do you understand the misunderstanding tho?

its not like i was actually phishing.

Yes, I understand what happened.
I shouldn't have posted that here. I should've sent it on a PM instead.

I recall only needing time too.

And yet he charged you 3%/day for that time. LOL
Karma is a bitch.

Thanks, bitcats. No, I will not play SatoshiDice Wink
2670  Other / Off-topic / Re: interesting visits to my site on: August 30, 2012, 09:01:51 PM
well, there aren't many pastes yet so I'm pretty sure most came from these forums, though in these instances no referrer is even given. And they didn't visit any specific paste pages.

it's just funny, that's all.

Oh, and there's one visit from a very large investment management company Cheesy

The fact that there isn't any referrer header is consistent with links from this forum, which, apart from redirection topics, all open on new windows/tabs.

U.S. dollars must be accepted for all debts, public and private.

Not where I live...

Did he operate in your jurisdiction or did you send your funds (through the interwebs) to him in his?

I don't know and I don't know.
Don't assume I wish the debt to be paid on government money, be it USD or EUR, in case I don't get my BTC back.
Now I'll leave it, because this is useless discussion. Pirate still haven't told me(or anyone else) he isn't paying.

Unfortunately what matters, if you're trying to use the legal system to recover your money, is the rules of that system where he lives, not where you live. Even if you could get a ruling in your favor where you live how would you get it enforced?

Unfortunately what matters is that I was only saying to Stephen that I don't go around quoting the laws of my country when I want to say something, so, spare me the lecture, please.

Also, about usury: not one user charged 7% to pirateat40. He was the one to set the rates, not us.

You may be on to something there.  I'm not a lawyer by any means but I do know that if you are evicting someone for failing to pay rent then accepting a partial payment from the renter can delay the eviction process.  So maybe he wants an address so that he can pay a miniscule amount and then he can say "Look!  They accepted a partial payment!".

Like I said, I'm no lawyer and such a thing may not apply in this case...

You can't refuse a payment made to a bitcoin address that is known to someone.
Just because he sent a payment doesn't mean you accepted it as a settlement for any amount owed.
2677  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PPT/Pirate Pass-Through OPs need our support now, more than ever on: August 30, 2012, 05:26:12 PM
I for one can't wait to get my certified letter in the mail.. btw pirate do you know where i live?

Yeah, how is Pirate going to communicate through certified mail when he doesn't even know where everybody is?

This. I don't get this. Why didn't he ask for an address for each person?

Because if you read closely, pirateat40 was telling goat(and just goat) that all communication from goats' lawyer or goat himself to pirateat40s' lawyer would need to be made by certified mail.

<Chaang-Noi> pirate, can you make your lawyers phone number public? i want to have somethings confirmed.
<pirateat40> Chaang-Noi, those details will be available on Friday and all communication will be by certified mail.

It seems to me you guys already forgot about goats' pissing contests with Nefario and MtGox... Roll Eyes
Exactly the same M.O. now with this one.

I mean: why would pirateat40 accept any information regarding bitcoinmax users coming from someone who isn't payb.tc?

Maybe because he's promised to tell the truth and has no reason to lie?

Why are you so cynical?

This is Bitcoin, not the real world - we're a better class of people.

I have started a thread where lenders that wish can give their information to pirate.

What are you getting yourself into?
What do you mean?
