What's up bitcoin noobs? Just dropping in to remind everyone what a cool cat I am. Still got 97.5% of my life savings in Bitcoin. Still coasting at 250%+ ROI from time of divestment from that worthless scam called fiat. It is not impressive if we don't know how much your life savings is Tough shit, I'm not here to impress you, I'm here to remind everyone what a cool (and giant-ballsacked) cat I am. I impress myself. Since I'm smarter, more popular, more athletic, bigger-balled, more humble, and more attractive than you, this is all that matters.

Bitcoin can be copied in a gazillion alt coins. I see this fallacious argument all the time. Bitcoin's most valuable aspect is that it has the most powerful computer network in the world securing it. This aspect cannot and will not ever be copied. Altcoins are irrelevant. Unless you believe you can start selling people phone contracts without any cell network on which to use them? That's essentially what every altcoin is doing, and sooner or later they will all fail to hold any value as a result. http://trilema.com/2014/the-woes-of-altcoin-or-why-there-is-no-such-thing-as-cryptocurrencies/

I don't think many/any foundation (or similar entity that accepts donations) is ever going to be willing to give refunds in the way that you request. I find "traditional establishments would never do this" to be a particularly uncompelling argument within the bitcoin space. The whole point of bitcoin should be to NOT make the same mistakes of traditional institutions. From this perspective, the foundation has failed so far. When their chief scientist abandoned them, and stated reasons like lack of transparency, that was a major red flag for me - and should be for any bitcoiner. Who do you mean by that? Andreas

Bitcoin Price Dropping ? How can I Protect The Value Of My Bitcoin? Bitcoin exchange price doesn't matter until you lose willpower and make the mistake of exchanging bitcoin for fiat.

...not a guaranteed value of the Bitcoin makes the price move is not fair. Life is not fair. The fact that bitcoin is not guaranteed by state violence is the very reason it will succeed, the very thing that makes it unique from all violence-backed state promissory scrip. No, bitcoin will not last forever. But it will almost certainly get us through the end of capitalism.

Because you are going to be using bitcoin sooner or later whether you like it or not.
The only real decision you have is whether you want to be one of the first in line (and be financially rewarded for your boldness) or one of the last in line (and be financially punished for your lack of foresight).

When Andreas left the foundation, I requested a refund of my 0.3 BTC donation for lifetime membership. They denied my request.
Allowing refunds would be a great place to start building good will. Maybe if I like the new direction you take the foundation I'll donate again, but holding my donation hostage in an entity that has changed is not cool.

$0, because i went all-in back in Q3 2013, before it was cool.
so you're down 55% because the bitcoins you have today are worth less than the same bitcoins in the 1st fo january this year. Nope, that's not how that works at all. Fiat exchange price is irrelevant and of no particular concern except at the moments when we choose to exchange our crypto for fiat, or vice-versa. I'm down nothing unless/until I sell some BTC at lower price(s) than I bought them. Considering I bought all my BTC between 120 and 200$, and sold a fraction of my holdings over the course of the last year between $400 and 1,100, I have only ever profited - 200% at minimum - from my dealings bitcoin.

hy not the whole universe? First humanity must master responsible stewardship of our home planet. We've got a long way to go. Ethically speaking, only then should we consider attempting to spread to other worlds.

The boom is the correction. For four years now bitcoin has been - and will continue to - correct upwards toward its true relative intrinsic value of infinite fiat scrip promissory notes. This is inevitable because our world is becoming less violent and more reasonable as we socially evolve. As nations derive their power from violence, and back their money with violence, it is natural that these fiat violence-notes will slowly approach worthlessness as we approach a world governed solely by reason.

Well we can continue to dream and dream non-stop but in order to make it a reality we need to encourage adoption of bitcoin as payment currency. No, we don't. We need to wait a few years for the inevitable.

Can we take that as a buy signal?
Don't look for the signals to buy into Bitcoin, instead pay attention to the signals to divest from fiat, because those are abundant.

If something's banned, it must be very good. More people will jump on the crypto currencies bandwagon now You know sex with corpses is banned in most countries. Don't knock it if ya ain't tried it! Just plug your nose and drill away, no one will ever know.
