1701  Economy / Speculation / Re: 26.1.2015 - next bubble just started on: January 26, 2015, 11:56:05 AM
You should have bought when it was sub 200 a week earlier. Right now, you may not a have big picture and what is the next direction it is heading. The earlier rally we saw more than a month ago, had the price jumped from 300 to 450 in about a week. So this time round, I think it's a little too fast and probably we are still at the early stage with more rise expected.
1702  Economy / Economics / Re: EUR might drop below USD on: January 26, 2015, 11:50:49 AM
Probably will unless ecb took some fast and drastic actions on the QE. But I was thinking whether with Greece exiting euro, would that actually have positive or negative impact towards euro but more likely it will be for the better
1703  Economy / Speculation / Re: +$240.. on: January 26, 2015, 11:44:34 AM
it rise too fast.

Can't complain about that. Just to be fair we saw the price plunged much faster than when it was going up. While I prefer to see a more steady rise, nevertheless I'm still happy rather than nothing happened.
1704  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: coinbase investment firms on: January 26, 2015, 11:42:12 AM
Unless I am misreading this http://www.coindesk.com/top-12-biggest-bitcoin-investment-rounds-all-time/, the same vc firms are reinvesting?
Coinbase does have some new investors that are investing new money into it.

On a slightly related note, coinbase is also starting a new, US based exchange, and it just so happens that the price of bitcoin is rallying strongly around the same time such news was announced.

You mean the jump in the price has nothing to do with the coinbase announcement? I think it's pretty much correlated.
1705  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: McDonald's accepting Bitcoins (not really) on: January 26, 2015, 11:38:39 AM
I can see the dogecoin mania has spread to here. Come on guys, let's be serious. That's obviously fake.
1706  Other / Meta / Re: Effect of no BTCtalk on: January 26, 2015, 11:35:17 AM
Are you kidding? Bitcoin would not be as popular as it was today. Mainly bitcointalk has been a platform where everybody into bitcoin gathers to start a discussion or topic whether it is simply for trolling or otherwise. I imagine all the people would be somewhere else scattered into different forums and the community would not be as it was today.
1707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who cares if Bitcoin goes mainstream? on: January 26, 2015, 11:28:08 AM
bitcoin's main problem for worldwide adoption has always been the volatility issue. with it going mainstream, I always expected the price to become more stable. I mean with higher market cap, it is harder for the speculators to control and manipulate the price. That's only my concern, or else I would be happy enough or would bother less on what happens outside my circle.
1708  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: briefcase full of cash on: January 26, 2015, 05:37:29 AM
Let me know when you are buying the coins as i expect market price to go up a little when you do that.
1709  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Disappear Day on: January 26, 2015, 05:10:26 AM
I still put hope that one day he/she will be back. There are still so many things that can done to improve bitcoin and I'm sure if satoshi were ever around,  a lot of things would have been better. No 1 is the moral boost
1710  Economy / Speculation / Re: An analysis: Bid & Ask Sums on BTC exchanges. Conclusion: no new demand for BTC on: January 25, 2015, 01:47:30 PM
But the thing is that the bid amount can suddenly pile up within a short period of time and catching everybody by surprise and eventually force the price up. Don't underestimate
1711  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to reach $260 by the end of the day ! on: January 25, 2015, 01:21:20 PM
What do you think current volume and trading activity clearly points to this as a possibility but anything can happen in the bitcoin markets

Anything is still possible at this stage. Looking at the order book for different exchangers it seems to point towards the price going up. But one thing you might want to take notice is the coinbase announcement.
1712  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin conspiracy theories on: January 25, 2015, 01:12:27 PM
I don't believe that Bitcoin was invented by the government to solve their economic issues.
However, I believe that the government has seen the potential of a digital currency and are
in the mix manipulating mass physiology as well as markets to achieve their goals.

More likely the scenario as what you explained. Bitcoin existence is being seen as a threat to the current conventional fiat system. And that's a fact. Period
1713  Economy / Speculation / Re: Coinbase announcement on Monday on: January 25, 2015, 12:49:23 PM
I suppose that's the buy signal we are wwaitingfor. Also just recently saw ltc price going up.  Does that in any way connected?
1714  Economy / Speculation / Re: $1 --> $32 // $13 -->$260 // $85 --> $1163 // $375 --> ???? on: January 25, 2015, 12:35:34 PM
3750? I hope that is true. That is if going by current uptrend we can find ourselves reaching the 375 lauchpad
1715  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Would Make People Gain Much More Interest in Bitcoin? on: January 25, 2015, 12:31:45 PM
Make it fun. Try not to convince people based on the idea that it can be used as investment. Not everybody, i mean seriously not everyone is interested when they hear that. Instead put focus on facebook. If people post some interesting link or funny pictures or even jokes, tip them and have them know about bitcoin.
1716  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everyone Tip on Facebook with ChangeTip! Help Make Bitcoin Go Viral. on: January 25, 2015, 12:26:29 PM
I think it's a great idea moving on the right direction because facebook is actually a power tool to reach out to new people especially those who have no idea what bitcoin is all about. I just tried out the service by sending 100 bits to two of my college facebook friends who accepted the tip and after trying out, they were giving positive feedback and were willing to try out further.
1717  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What just happened with LTC??? on: January 25, 2015, 11:12:15 AM
It's 40% increase right now. I suspect there is going to be major changes taking place or some big announcement coming up that would have big impact on the way things run. Surely somebody would have insider information before the rest of us know about it.
1718  Economy / Speculation / Re: Short now = make lots of money? on: January 25, 2015, 10:58:40 AM
It's either you go against the trend or follow the trend. Personally at current moment, i would follow the trend to be on the safe side.
1719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banking system + Government is paralyzing bitcoin on: January 25, 2015, 09:11:06 AM
As much as i want and hope to see it become a reality someday, these things just take time. Just have to be patient for now
1720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's Needed To Send Money Internationally? on: January 25, 2015, 06:38:15 AM
Plus those coins are heavy and pretty much inconvenient to carry with you everywhere. I prefer having my btc in my smartphone. Also when you travel across different regions you have to exchange the fiat to the local currency. With btc there is no worry about that.
