1261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has anyone informations about opinion-manipulation campaigns against bitcoin? on: February 26, 2015, 11:45:13 AM
I see the threat or hate campaign will most likely come from companies offering money transfer services. If bitcoin ever gets big, it will most likely grab a large portion of the existing market share, so logically you would want your competitors out of the game at all cost. If you notice, nowadays trolls are all using newbie accounts and this raises the suspicion whether they got paid exactly to do that.
1262  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you buy BTC just to use it? on: February 26, 2015, 11:37:46 AM
Well, I do buy my coins and at the same time do some work to earn it. I keep most of it in cold wallet and leave some in my phone to buy certain things that I want like for example domain name or even at the local eatery that accepts bitcoin. When it comes to buying the coins, I don't mind paying about 10 - 15% extra as long as I know the sellers keep their promise to deliver.
1263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ex Goldman Director Launches Bitcoin Derivatives Brokerage on: February 25, 2015, 12:19:52 PM
Seriously I don't know whether I should take this as a good news or bad news. While it opens up possibilities or would rather say opportunities to have new investors getting into bitcoin pretty quick, what I worry is that when there is too much fund pouring in, the price will go up very fast....in fact toooo fast. If it can go up fast, it can also go down at similar speed or rate. I just hope that is not the case.
1264  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To Bitcoin Marketing Team: Bitcoins Should Be Depicted as Triangle Not Circle on: February 25, 2015, 12:14:04 PM
I would prefer the shape of a circle as it fits the shape of the moon nicely without having to combine the triangles together which obviously will take a lot of work to get it done. Just trying to make it as simple as possible without getting too technical.
1265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is too complex for the average person on: February 25, 2015, 12:09:07 PM
If the price ever hits $1000, you will suddenly find all the average person will become a smart person. The problem is also because people are too lazy to learn. If they notice that bitcoin has the potential to become higher, suddenly you will see people developing to interest to learn up everything there is to know about bitcoin. Right now, it's too damn difficult and it's certainly not worth the time spent to learn up.
1266  Economy / Speculation / Re: We are headed to $50 on: February 25, 2015, 12:04:28 PM

Also, based on some fractal similarity I'm seeing--which I will divulge later after the new bull starts--the next bull will be powerful, as powerful on a log scale as the prior two full cycles combined.  When the dumb money panics, it will be the buying opportunity of a lifetime.

that is if we ever reached that level. I always believe $100 should be the psychological level, that is if anybody is willing to dump at that price, there will never be short of buyers. So technically it will bounce off nicely and return back to much higher level. And yes, it's a buying opportunity of a lifetime. And our chance to be early adopters.
1267  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's only us on: February 25, 2015, 12:00:53 PM
Even if you have a bunch of newcomers getting introduced into the game, that would not move the price so much in a day but we should see it going up in the long run. Just look at the reality... price has been stable around the 230 range for more than a week now and it could only mean whatever new coins getting dump to the open market, would still have buyers buying it back. Else it will drop. And are those buyers newcomers? There's no way to tell. It could be newcomer mixed among the old timers who obviously have absolutely trust in bitcoin.
1268  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin fall blamed on impatient traders on: February 25, 2015, 11:53:06 AM
Bitcoin started on a bad note this week with the price failing to sustain itself after falling during the February 22nd trading session. Experts blamed the fall on impatient traders who closed their positions before the bitcoin price was able to build the necessary momentum.

As we predicted yesterday, the 232-234 area received strong support and kept the price from testing the new bottom of around 227.

Sometimes it may not necessarily true that the fall are caused by impatient traders. If you ever play on margin you will realize that exchangers will automatically close the traders' long position if there is a margin call which means there is not enough fund in the account to sustain their negative position. This has to be done to protect the exchanger in the first place.
1269  Economy / Speculation / Re: Position and Outlook poll: 2015 on: February 25, 2015, 11:46:29 AM
B2 here. I made some mistake when I bought it higher at 300 range but at least managed to salvage back the loss when I grabbed some cheap coins when it dropped to 200. Eventually that gets averaged out. Anyway, I still have some cash left but for now, still waiting for the right time to buy.
I don't expect price to jump significantly by year end. It could ever drop below the psychological 100 level so it's pretty hard to predict. Anyway my hope still lies when the next halving occurs.
1270  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price. Reason on: February 25, 2015, 11:39:01 AM
Go back to the basic of supply and demand factor. Obviously there are more coins getting introduced to the open market either by miners or normal sellers and as such price is getting lower because people are trying to undercut each other to make a quick sale. Just wait for the next halving to take place or if you are patient, let's wait further for another two more halvings to be able tell if reduced supply factor will have effect to bring back up the price again.
1271  Economy / Economics / Re: Zimbabweans, again, collapse ... on: February 25, 2015, 11:34:06 AM
People has been skeptical about introduction of the bond coin as they fear that the physical coins will be the government's first step to reintroducing back the Zimbabwe dollar. so in this scenario, I don't see any obstacle on why they shouldn't use bitcoin. At least they can use it as a day to day exchange currency to buy goods and stuff rather than accepting candy or pens?
1272  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Which is the best mobile wallet? on: February 25, 2015, 11:24:20 AM
Hello guys,

Which is your favourite mobile wallet?

Until now I have been online using bitcoin core on my PC, as it felt the safest way.
What are good alternatives, not always have to synchronize the blockchain.

Especially for iOS. I am fuddling with Coinbase and Blockchain mobile Apps right now.

Probably you should check out some of the reviews posted over here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=967273.0
If you are on android, the best would be mycelium. Hive is also cool if you are into social networks kind of thing. Anyway, if you are on IOS, there's only like 4 options available to choose from and among those, Hive is one which I've seen works the same both on android and ios.
1273  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do girls use Bitcoin ? on: February 25, 2015, 11:17:23 AM
The only girl within my circle of network who probably know about bitcoin is a cousin of mine. Even though she knew about it but overall she seems uninterested when the guys in a group were chatting on how cool it is about using bitcoin. The common answer which I got was "why need bitcoin, when you can also pay in fiat".  Undecided
1274  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: police pay ransom in btc on: February 25, 2015, 11:04:24 AM
Somebody needs to check the accuracy of the report. First thing first, if the hacker managed to lock down the computer, getting only $500 worth of bitcoin may sound too low for a ransom. Furthermore, I don't think the police will be forced to compromise when it comes to this situation.
1275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Mt.Gox and other exchanges are hacked by NSA? on: February 25, 2015, 11:00:16 AM
Another round of conspiracy theory. I think most likely it is the work of some greedy individuals looking to make easy money rather than a big organization that intends to bring down bitcoin. I mean with every available resource, it will be more effective to just hack the network. giving bitcoin bad reputation will not effective bring down the network as there are bound to be die hard supporters around. Furthermore it also takes time.
1276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gaming and bitcoin will bring mass adoption on: February 25, 2015, 05:46:03 AM
Remember when the diablo trading platform was still active and imagine at the same time if bitcoin was also accepted as one of the payment option.... that would be great. There are so many possibilities not just trading. In fact game developers can also allow sale of in-game items paid in bitcoins.
1277  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Europol Cybercrime Report: The Dark Side of Bitcoin is Coming Into Light on: February 25, 2015, 05:40:18 AM
It's rather unfair that the blame is placed onto bitcoin when in reality criminals also use fiat to commit illegal activities. Think on the good side. Anonymous feature will allows us to keep our personal information safe. Bitcoin is a good invention the problem here is that it has been misused.
1278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mt.Gox database leak on: February 24, 2015, 03:12:34 PM
I don't understand why again it has to be Mt Gox. Money were lost, that includes trust and so what? We need to put everything behind and move on. After all, nothing we do now can change anything. Just hope that from the Mt Gox incident at least we have learned something not to trust easily
1279  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1st nation to adopt Bitcoin will become wealthiest on: February 24, 2015, 02:50:18 PM
Then why didn't it start with a company or any other individuals for that matter? Fact is there is still too much risk involved and every one is basically looking at each other and to take a cautious approach.
1280  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will it hit $1000 again? on: February 24, 2015, 02:32:16 PM
Have anyone given the thought that few more halvings can actually reduce the amount of new coins to the market and that supply is now much lower than the demand... and this coupled with ever increasing higher adoption rate. I don't know but i see every possibility as we progresses further
