1221  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Favourite Exchange? on: February 27, 2015, 03:44:50 PM
There are so many right now. Apart from the one in my signature, there are localbitcoins, kraken, cryptsy, poloniex which I've all used before without facing any problem. currently I'm using bittrex and there is quite a heavy movement over there which makes it great for doing fast trading and also fast profit.
1222  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What if all possible bitcoin wallets are owned? on: February 27, 2015, 03:35:50 PM
If I were you I won't be bothered at all as the possibility is so low. Too low, like almost zero probability to have the same address owned by two different person. Even in advancement in computing power for years to come it will take a whole lifetime for things like that to happen.
1223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kim Dotcom : " Let's give Bitcoin a boost " on: February 27, 2015, 03:28:28 PM
So ,
Seems like Paypal and MasterCard has stopped doing business with MEGA (File uploading & sharing provider)

Kim Dotcom tweeted : "I like to thank @Paypal for backing #Mega for such a long time. The pressure from Hollywood and the US Government was simply too much."
So he decided to switch from those payment methods to Bitcoin and give a boost .

I personally think that it's a great oppurtunity for Bitcoin , what do you guys think ? Grin

Doesn't sound right to me...People will start to associate bitcoin with underground activities or that's the way how I look at it. So does that in any way connected to which can explain the recent bitcoin price going up?
1224  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are you spending your Bitcoin? on: February 27, 2015, 03:21:58 PM
I particularly prefer not to spend. Not now, but who knows after the price goes uphill.

I think one should used his btc at regular interval, because no one knows the btc you are saving in a site when will going to scam you, and you will loose all your btc.

Then might as well keep all the btc in your own wallet. That would be the safest option as you will have complete control of your own money. If you need to do exchanges just transfer the amount to the exchanger account and perform a quick conversion and then withdraw it out instantly.
1225  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I get rid of dust in my wallet? on: February 27, 2015, 03:17:22 PM
There are quite a number of people including myself who consolidate my coins. Probably all you need is some wallet which allows you to set your own custom transaction fee so that you can combine the coins into one single output. It will be difficult if you have dust payment amount to 5000 sats because no matter what you do, it is almost impossible to avoid paying a fee.
1226  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How many confirmations does it take to verify the deposit? on: February 27, 2015, 03:10:26 PM
That depends largely on the amount that you are receiving. For anything worth a mere few buck, I would say 2 confirmation is likely more than enough. For an attacker it's not worth trying to force a double spend and cheat with that such small amount. For large transactions, the safest is 6 confirmations.
1227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What company should take btc? on: February 27, 2015, 02:54:48 PM
Basically I hope one day every single company will accept bitcoin. And that bitcoin will the automatic choice of payment currency. Or better... bitcoin as the sole currency that will only be accepted. Everytime when I use my credit card for payment I had that kind of uneasy feeling that somebody might be snooping on my spending pattern. At least with bitcoin, it gets harder to get to my personal information.
1228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin and Not a better improved crypto? on: February 27, 2015, 02:49:47 PM
Unless someone come with a total new idea like Satoshi did , any Alternative coin will be a total failure .
They are basically all cheap copies and Bitcoin is unique and original . that simple

~ Madness

Unless the new coin could retain all bitcoins good points and introduces something really new that solve all the current problem like volatility. There has been an altcoin called Nubits which aim to achieve just that but I don't see it making an impact for now. Eventually it will all still go back to bitcoin no matter how, just the fate like all the rest of altcoins.
1229  Economy / Economics / Re: ECB to kickstart Quantitative easing next month! May it trickle on bitcoin! on: February 27, 2015, 02:40:56 PM
But how to convince them? If only a fraction agrees, that would be something big to help bitcoin. That is what I hate about QE. It's all about making the rich getting richer while the poor will only get poorer. In a way or another, if you can't beat them, then just join them. That's the way on how I see it goes on to right now.
1230  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin is a solution without a problem? on: February 27, 2015, 02:22:47 PM
Bitcoin is a solution, but it does have problems that need to be solved.
A currency, just isn't a currency if it has volatility.

I feel the same way as well but I always thought one of the solution to all these problems can only be if bitcoin has its own enclosed ecosystem. that is.... If I earn my pay in bitcoin, I can spend almost everything I need for my daily necessities also paid in bitcoin. That way, I'll never ever be bother about price conversion, whether it is up, or it is down because I will never have to convert back to fiat to purchase anyway.
1231  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Apples4bitcoins, fake or real? on: February 27, 2015, 02:13:51 PM
And how many bitcoin you actually use to pay for the phone? And which model of the iphone? Oh wow, you could have at least read some reviews or do a background check before actually paying it with bitcoin. You do know that the payment made is non-reversible right? I'm sorry, but I think most likely you got scammed.
1232  Economy / Speculation / Re: Least volatile week in a year? on: February 27, 2015, 02:07:54 PM
Not until few hours ago. I've taken my mind off to forget about price movement and have been rather successful until just a while ago when I bumped into couple of threads suddenly popping up everywhere discussing about how the price is already going over to the moon, the price breakthrough and such. That is what bitcoin is all about.
1233  Economy / Speculation / Re: Anyone else who care less about bitcoin now than before? on: February 27, 2015, 02:03:46 PM
Forget about the price. Try to take your mind off checking bitcoin price for a week and you will find that things will get a lot easier after that. I used to check the price all the time but I find that it's rather a waste of time. I like reading news about bitcoin development, check the google trend on what is the latest happening, discuss around in the forum, that will be much better.
1234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 666$ prices coming soon on: February 27, 2015, 02:00:12 PM
The devil is coming into your mind. Greed will lead to nothing except for misery and suffering. Drop all obsession and you will be granted a divine intervention. Read my lips: 1 bitcoin will always be 1 bitcoin. Now repeat after me. He hath spoken and be ready to be lead again to the correct path.
1235  Economy / Speculation / Re: what just happened .. and why now ? on: February 27, 2015, 01:45:24 PM
Right now, it looks pretty normal to me. Even though it is a $14 rise in just a matter of minutes, during the course of its history, we have seen equivalent or much faster meteoric rise of bitcoin. right now, that's pretty typical. At one time, if I can still remember it was like $30 in just a blink of an eye.
1236  Economy / Speculation / Re: TO THE MOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on: February 27, 2015, 01:41:48 PM
well, it might be still too early to tell. I'm expecting the price to face a lot of resistance when going up. Fact is I would rather see a small increase but consistently happening everyday rather than a quick jump like what is taking place right now. Hope it stays on the uptrend for long.
1237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase CEO: bitcoin is far ahead! Altcoins are distractions! on: February 27, 2015, 01:38:25 PM
Altcoins do have advantages... One reason its hard to buy stuff (phyiscal buying it, not online) with Bitcoin is the confirm time, I would not wait an hour for my Bitcoin transaction to confirm so I can buy a coffee. I currently use Dogecoin because of its fast transaction times and for its great community. I used Litecoin too.

But it is not growing. Nobody is going to take a meme coin seriously and you expect some major brands or companies are going to accept some dogecoin? Let the bitcoin confirmation time stay at it is. If you are paying some small amount of money, as long as you already seen the first confirmation, I supposed, it's enough to move on.
1238  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Big Is The Impact of Dell To Bitcoin? on: February 27, 2015, 01:32:43 PM
After Dell Embraces Bitcoin In UK and Canada, what will happen to bitcoin?

Given that its only available in UK and Canada.

How can Dell's acceptance of Bitcoin affect each of us bitcoiners?

Probably not much for now. Else you should see the price going up. I think the effect would be more profound towards long term because if you have a company successfully integrating bitcoin to their payment system, you will see others which will follow suit and if that expands into every company accepting bitcoin, there will be quite a demand for it.

I agree with you.
One single company as Dell is not enough to change the negative trend right now, bit more such '' big'' companies over period of time can help bitcoin.
Many bitcoin users right now don't see ''big picture'' and reacting in fear, selling BTC in panic.
For such people, one ''positive'' news like this will not help much but more such positive news can help to change thinking of people, so that they recover their confidence in BTC.

I hope so. When every company with major brands starts accepting bitcoin as a form of payment for their product, the perception of the people will start to change. Not only it functions as a currency, medium of exchange but it will also be a stable form of investment.  Right now, it's not there yet, No thanks to the recent hack which somehow got people to mostly lost confidence on how secure bitcoin is
1239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tipping May Be Bitcoin's Next Killer Application on: February 27, 2015, 01:24:05 PM
What's important is when if you send a tip via facebook or even reddit, indirectly that person receiving the tip will be interested to check out what it is all about and decided to find out more about bitcoin. I see this as the next big thing that could really help to lift bitcoin into mainstream adoption. And this is the right direction we are moving.
1240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who cares about bitcoin price? on: February 27, 2015, 01:20:39 PM
Yeah, try that to tell the rest of others here. Most people are actually obsessed with price. They hope one day when the price goes up, they can exchange their bitcoin back to that paper fiat and hang on to it. And question here is where is the true spirit of bitcoin holder and believer? If you are 1 bitcoin will always be 1 bitcoin.
