1701  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: August 25, 2014, 11:28:47 PM
Well, well, well. A big box from Miner Hosting LLC arrived at my doorstep today. I didn't know I was receiving a package.... To refuse delivery or just accept that I lost a bunch of money on this, that is the question.

And I paid Dec 25 2013 for those of you who are curious as to shipping order from Minersource. I should also mention I threw a big stink and bugged them about my refund status nearly every day for the last couple weeks.

Big box? Did you order an X3?
1702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 25, 2014, 09:57:21 PM
Where did KnC ever say they'd only mine 5% of the equipment they sold?  Did they really say this?  I can't see anything which says that/

The promise is still on the website.

Why are you selling the Miners and don’t mine yourself (will you use the miners for mining yourself)? ▾

We are mining ourselves, but we believe in the bitcoin project and a diversified market is the best for all parties. We will continue to mine but we do not believe in a monopoly of miners. We will not mine with more than 5% of the hash rate we sell, and we will never mine with customer hardware.
1703  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: AMT users thread. on: August 25, 2014, 06:15:07 PM
The boicoin network now has 180'000 TH/s, so, by my arithmetic, a 1.2 TH/s machine is expected to yield about 12 US$ worth of bitcoins per day, on the average.  (is my math correct?) How much electricity does it consume per day?

It would take 480 days for it to repay a 6000 US$ investment, if nothing changed.  But of course difficulty will increase, and the BTC price may not increase.

Assuming 1200 watts and $.15/kwh that's $4.32 per day in electricity.
1704  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Official AMT Thread on: August 25, 2014, 03:24:42 PM
AMT is busy creating more worthless self-moderated threads.
1705  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ultra x4 modular psu, wont stay on with ants on: August 25, 2014, 04:11:25 AM
I was using two pcie cables per ant s1...

So just try hooking up 4 cables to 1 ant.
1706  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 25, 2014, 12:22:02 AM
Take a look at these quote from nearly a year ago:

Dude the hashrate is about to level out

What is nearly impossible to predict is WHEN it will level off. It seems to be starting to now, but this could be a hiccup.

Go look at the network hashrate back then compared to now. Anybody predicting the hashrate is leveling off is going to look like a fool in a year. Just like those guys look now.
1707  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ultra x4 modular psu, wont stay on with ants on: August 24, 2014, 10:48:38 PM
so i have two ultra x4 750w modular psus, i was using one with my old gpu rig and one is brand new.

Are you using all 4 pci-e power cables for each PSU and Ant?
1708  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 24, 2014, 08:41:28 PM
Let me rephrase. With current tech and BTC value, it will slow down.

Sure, after difficulty goes up another 10x.
1709  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How to attack Bitcoin mining? on: August 23, 2014, 08:43:40 PM
More generally, what if I participate in a pool and just keep the good hashes for myself? I guess this would be strictly more profitable for me than just participating in a pool. But if every one does the same, pools should just never find a block. Right? Then: Why do pools exist in the first place?

You can't "keep the good hashes". Either you send them to the pool, or you throw them away. If you throw them away, you get nothing. Yes, you can do that, but it's a waste for you.
1710  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AMT 1.2THs miner first impressions/review (WIP) on: August 23, 2014, 05:59:34 PM
I guess the question is how is the review NOT fair?

At this point it's just an unboxing slideshow. Get part 2 posted with power, hashing, UI, etc.
1711  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Official AMT Thread on: August 22, 2014, 11:14:32 PM
Finally got in - but every time it tries to start cgminer, it fails with a segmentation fault.

I installed bfgminer but it doesn't recognize the miners.

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks,
perogi.

We just need the source code to cgminer that AMT is legally obligated to provide. Ask them for it.
1712  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: {BFL} WHAT THE!! ButterflyLads WONT deliver the Monarch Till...ONLY GOD KNOWs?:( on: August 22, 2014, 10:23:03 PM
You're mad that I'm making an offer?  Sounds like you're the jerk to me.   Wink

Customers have been ripped off for 9 months and now you want to rub it in their faces by offering a sick bet. I'll make you a counter bet. I'll bet you that the customers who ordered on the first day will never mine back the bitcoins they spent to order their Monarchs.

This is a thread full of people who think BFL won't ship right?

Feel free to post a quote of someone saying that.
1713  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: {BFL} WHAT THE!! ButterflyLads WONT deliver the Monarch Till...ONLY GOD KNOWs?:( on: August 22, 2014, 10:02:03 PM
Yes.  There are a lot of people who don't think they will ship.  If anyone wants to put their money where their mouth is, I'm willing to take the other side of that bet now.  If not, that's fine.  Go about your business.  I just wanted to offer up a bet.  Those who think BFL is lying about shipping should be happy about my offer.  No sense in being hostile towards me.

Where were you in Nov '13?
Where were you in Dec '13?
Where were you in Jan '14?
Where were you in Feb '14?
Where were you in Mar '14?
Where were you in Apr '14?
Where were you in May '14?
Where were you in Jun '14?
Where were you in Jul '14?

They're 9 months late and you're surprised there's hostility? You wait until they announce they're already shipping, and then you make a bet. Only a jerk offers up such a bet.
1714  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: {BFL} WHAT THE!! ButterflyLads WONT deliver the Monarch Till...ONLY GOD KNOWs?:( on: August 22, 2014, 09:48:15 PM
I am willing to bet that by August 28th, multiple Monarch units will have been received by a regular BFL customer.

Anyone care to place a bet with me?

That's hilarious. 9 months late! and now you want to make a bet.
1715  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: {BFL} WHAT THE!! ButterflyLads WONT deliver the Monarch Till...ONLY GOD KNOWs?:( on: August 22, 2014, 09:30:02 PM
Close to a year later and Mr. Inaba/josh/Butterfly Lab is starting to ship out the Monarch to the customers Sad

I think you're reading too much into the quote...

Boards have been shipped this week and we continue to ship daily.

Notice he didn't say "customers"? They've been shipping boards to their farm all along. I have yet to see a single customer report a tracking number or delivery.
1716  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: IN STOCK * Yiazo YBF Bitfury miner 30 up to 380GH/s * 75 EURO on: August 22, 2014, 05:57:28 PM
Are you sure you don't want to price these at market rates?
1717  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: AMT users thread. on: August 22, 2014, 05:39:20 PM
I gather in the absence of a legal address to do business, AMT's lawyer's address will have to do.

Agreed. They've never had a valid business registration. Tracking them down is going to be difficult now that Josh has fled the country.
1718  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AMT 1.2THs miner first impressions/review (WIP) on: August 22, 2014, 05:04:44 PM
What is the purpose of all those pieces of sheet metal?

1719  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Official AMT Thread on: August 21, 2014, 08:44:44 PM

That's a good start. Now that you're distributing binary copies of open source software, where is the corresponding source code?
1720  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Just need some experienced users advice. on: August 21, 2014, 06:56:00 PM
That S2 is overpriced. Get a few S3s for less money and higher hashrate.
