1701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has there been a world-first in PHYSICAL robbery of bitcoins? on: November 19, 2013, 02:24:12 AM
I remember a member here reporting that he went to do a otc purchase of a set of headphones. he saw said headphones listed on craiglist and the seller mentioned that he would take btc as payment. member went to meet guy at mcdonald's guy showed him headphones, member agreed to buy, sent coins using android, headphone seller gets up, with headphones, tells member to "bite it" and walks away.

could do the same scam with cash, but I suppose this qualifies as a theft of btc. if it happened to me personally, headphone guy would be missing teeth and headphones AND cellphone.

Hope he`s buying up those carbon credits to offset the electrical output of his ASIC mining hardware  Smiley
In France 80% of electricity is made via nuclear.  No carbon credits necessary.  Green mining in France!!!!

France is a little too much in love with centralization. It will be difficult to get the French to adopt.

I will personally meet the guy, while filming, and do something to him that he may or may not like.

I will assume this means homosexual rape
1705  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 17, 2013, 02:19:52 AM
Well one says discussion and the other announcements for starters, so your entire argument has fallen apart. Shambles.

e: You were missing just the word 'almost'.

in this thread; splitting hairs and arguing over trivial details

i'm sorry, but i have better things to do with my time, like- simpson's tapped out!

see you in "this user is currently ignored"
1706  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 17, 2013, 01:50:13 AM
It's so enjoyable when almost full pages in this thread have 'this user has been ignored' and I don't have to read the drivel.

Question for Ken (little bit of an old one here):
What happened to the talk of hiring a PR guy (I know Streets 2.0 got the axe or stepped down or whatever) to manage all these announcements? Did that get put on the backburner?

same here, on both points!

maybe a locked thread that only ActM can post in containing just news and updates. I can live without the "noise"

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=297543.0

wtf does it have the exact same title as this one for?

this one should be called VE's Troll and FUD thread

is this supposed to be the "big announcement"?
why doesn't ken just say "financial report on nov 15?!
anyway, good to see some accounting, no real surprises here...
they should impose mandatory communications classes for all uni students in the engineering dept.
they REALLY suck at it.

PS it took me an hour reading back ~10 pages of pissing contests and troll vs. troll BS to find this "announcement"
cant you guys just hang out on 4chan if you want to waste time and dick around?
1709  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: November 15, 2013, 01:45:54 AM
For those who could read Chinese, please find the latest update of FC's P2P exchange here.
http://bitell.sinaapp.com/show.php?tid=679

Google Translate makes my head swim, but it looks as though this is a fairly ELIA5 description of trading with signed transactions. ActM must hate this news. The cat is nicely toasted.

Any fluent chinese/english speakers who can translate should do so and be tipped generously! In fact there could be good money in bringing properly translated chinese BTC news to english language outlets in general!

1712  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Should I buy a 60 Gh/s Butterfly Labs Single on: November 14, 2013, 07:29:03 AM
I own one and have had it for almost a month. My entire take for the last 7 days is 1.1142 BTCMy earnings decrease daily, however the rise in btc/usd is working in my favor. if btc keeps going up in value I may even see ROI by year's end. My electricity is cheap so I might as well keep it running, but it really doesn't earn that much and soon will barely produce dust. just buy bitcoin with your money instead.

烤猫 comes up in google translate as "grilled cat"

1714  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: November 14, 2013, 12:23:31 AM
I wonder why the BitCanary guy isn't selling any.

http://bitcanary.com/

Checkout his GB threads. SSB (another reseller for US) is awaiting shipment for more cubes (also on his GB thread)

pardon my ignorance, but, what is a "GB thread?" I cant find what it means anywhere and google gives me nothing relevant.

1719  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: November 13, 2013, 06:59:40 AM
Anyone noticed the recent spike in ASICMINER's hashing? it's reaching the 100 TH for the first time...

http://asicminercharts.com/

saw it as well, it peaked at 120 TH. Is it finally happening?  Cheesy

This chart is not working for me, any idea why?
I'm on a mac mini with safari.

could be the "mac mini" part. Nice little comp back in the day, but I had to retire mine 5 years ago when it could no longer update flash. That was the last mac I ever owned, and it will remain the last mac I will ever buy.

BUT, more on topic... those charts... you should see those charts!

NASA approved!
1720  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] - KENILWORTH - Real World Mining Opportunity with Bitcoins on: November 13, 2013, 06:49:33 AM
Kenilworth BitFunder is transfering to Havelock

Thank you for your patience

thanks much, Prendergast123! I will process my shares as soon as bitfunder's security certificate goes back to normal.  Tongue
