1722  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Firmware 1.6.0 - Known Bugs and Issues on: January 26, 2020, 01:49:02 AM
I haven't updated my nano ledger s for a while.  Im still using the 1.5 or 1.5.5 version.  I have not connected my nano ledger s to my laptop in over 2.5 months until recently.

Do i need to do this firmware update?  Also at the moment,  i noticed when i connected my ledger s to my laptop, the screen is very dim... like its running out of battery but i read the nano ledger s does not have a battery.

I don't want an issue where you can no longer update the firmware like how i read someone a while back didn't update his ledger s for like years and then he couldn't update it anymore on the nano ledger s.
1723  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Nano Ledger S Battery Question? on: January 26, 2020, 01:29:02 AM
Oh wait i made a mistake, this is with the nano ledger X.

So what about the nano ledger s then?
1724  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Nano Ledger S Battery Question? on: January 26, 2020, 01:27:49 AM
Also how do you check your battery percentage similar to like how much battery your iphone used up?

It also says

The battery is designed to last 5 years. Ledger does not provide a battery replacement program. If battery capacity has degraded beyond being practically usable, the device can be used by connecting it to a power source using the USB cable.

Can someone explain what this means?  So that means if the battery degraded, you can still use the nano ledger s?  Im confused what it means it can still be used connecting to a power source using the usb cable?  Because when i use it, i always connect it to my laptop so im a bit confused what is meant here?

Has anyone here notice when they connect nano ledger s to their computer, its very dim?  What should i do now?  Just connect it to my laptop for a few hours?
1725  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Nano Ledger S Battery Question? on: January 26, 2020, 01:25:18 AM
Bought a nano ledger s about 2 years ago.  Previously kept btc in electrum and when i got nano ledger s, i sent btc to nano ledger.  I do not send btc that much and basically hold most of the time.  So whenever i need to send or receive btc, i connect it to my laptop via usb port to send/receive.  Actually not my laptop usb port but like that thing that has multiple ports since i have only few usb ports in my laptop.  I have not connected my nano ledger s to my laptop i almost 2.5 months and just connected it to my laptop again.  What i noticed was... the letters/words on the nano ledger s looks extremely dim... like its running out of battery.

Whenever i used my nano ledger s, i rarely have it connected to the usb port on my laptop if i no longer use it.  I basically just unplug it and put it in my fanny pack so to speak.

I just checked nano ledger site and apparently the battery last up to 5 years.  Is that accurate?  It says

If you intend to store your Ledger Nano X for longer periods, the battery lifespan is best preserved by charging fully once every few months. Once fully charged, turn off the device and store it in a cool, moisture-free place.

It's best not store your Ledger Nano X for a prolonged period on a very low charge, since this may negatively affect battery capacity.

I rarely have my nano ledger s connected to my laptop more than like 20 minutes at the most.  But we have to fully charge it?  I never heard of this?  So because the words now on the nano ledger s is pretty dim, does that mean my battery is wearing out?  Now do i connect it to my usb port for a few hours to get stronger battery?  Or is the battery already worn out?

Well if someone wants to trade and lock in profits but trade altcoins, isn't usdt your only option though?
1727  Economy / Economics / Re: Where's my free money? on: January 26, 2020, 01:12:29 AM
Did mcafee joked on twitter about this?
1728  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: NEVER EVER deal Bitcoins with PAYPAL (F&F too!) on: January 26, 2020, 01:11:49 AM
So what is best way to sell btc to strangers then that is safe?  Is cash deposit at bank and waiting for next business day good enough?  What about a bank transfer like zelle?  Or bank wire?

What exchanges currently buy/sell beancash now?
1730  Economy / Economics / Re: Where's my free money? on: January 01, 2020, 02:54:21 AM
He said 500k by next year... then said 1 million at least.  It doesn't look like anywhere close to that.  Seems like all experts are no where close.
1731  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trade with USDT or BTC? on: January 01, 2020, 02:46:00 AM
When you do usdt, you are paying an extra 2 fees right when selling it for real usd?  Example you send btc to binance.  You sell it for altcoin.  Then sell it for btc and then sell it for usdt.  Then say you want to cash out to bank account, you need to sell the usdt to btc on binance... then send the btc to coinbase/gemini or bitstamp and then do a bank transfer ach right?

Does binance allow you to cash out directly to bank transfer like ach or wire transfer?
1732  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: NEVER EVER deal Bitcoins with PAYPAL (F&F too!) on: January 01, 2020, 02:43:28 AM
How long can they charge back for?  I recall it was a set amount.  Also do you know the person's real name who bought btc from you for paypal?  So that paypal is 100% theirs?  Or could it be their paypal was hacked?
1733  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Binance: $BNB The Future of Exchanges. on: January 01, 2020, 02:36:00 AM
Anyone here lend on binance and make interest?

Okay so binance lets you do this correct?  I looked at their site again and if you lend bnb... you get up to 15% annually... if its usdt... its 10%.  Can anyone here confirm this is legit?  Seems way too good?

Example imagine you had $10,000.  If you put it in a bank account or cd, at most you get 2 percent at the absolute max... more like under 1% or less or under $100 a year.  But if you buy btc with $10000 on binance and sell it for usdt... then have around $10000 usdt balance and lend it... at end of year, you will have $11000 usdt?  Can anyone confirm this?  Because the thing is usdt always seems to be pegged to the dollar so wouldn't that mean there is almost no risk?  Because then at end of year, you then sell it for btc and immediately send the btc to coinbase or bitstamp and sell it again immediately for usd... then you withdraw to bank account so that way... you are making around $1000 in 1 year on $10000?  Or is my math or logic wrong here?  The other thing is binance does not allow you to cash out directly to bank accounts right?  Or did that change as well?

Because if they offer 10%... if someone had $100,000, couldn't that person just do this and make $10000 in interest a year?  Now if usdt collapses, thats the only way you lose profit right?  But usdt seems to always stay close to or is 1 dollar?

The thing is im using the regular binance site.  But does their binance us site allow this as well or its only their nonus site?  I currently use their nonus site.

1735  Other / Off-topic / Re: Downloading Songs/Video Youtube Downloader Program Without Malware? on: December 25, 2019, 12:52:49 AM
This discussion doesn't belong to this board, move it to off topic.

You are not quite clear about what you want but I guess downloading youtube video is your prime concern.

I use xdm (extreme download manager) which is available for Linux, windows and Mac and is completely free and open source.

They provide high speed download and grabs links from youtube and other sites effectively.

Download it from here http://xdman.sourceforge.net/

Hi.  Im asking what program can i download on my main computer... which i do everything important on such as have crypto wallets and everything...  Like i want to transfer songs/videos from it to my itunes to my iphone.
1736  Other / Off-topic / Downloading Songs/Video Youtube Downloader Program Without Malware? on: December 24, 2019, 05:19:15 AM
have a main laptop and a chromebook. Chromebook is for web browsing and sites.

My main laptop, i use it for everything else. The thing is back then i would download songs and videos from youtube using that ytd video downloader... but last time i tried to do this... it did not work. I would save these songs and videos on my main computer and would also transfer these songs/videos to my iphone to listen using itunes.

But for some reason, ytd doesn't seem to work when i copy link to download from youtube to it. Can someone tell me why this doesn't work? Do i need to download or upgrade it? I assume its still free to do this right as i assume most ppl who put songs on their iphone do that?

Does anyone have a program that is malware/virus free where i could use where i download the songs and videos and can save them to my windows 10 computer and of course transfer them to my iphone?

I use my chromebook for web browsing and surfing sites but i want to put songs/videos from youtube on my main laptop to my iphone.

Thanks.

1737  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES - Complete Blockchain ecosystem for a token economy on: December 08, 2019, 05:43:14 AM
Hi there.  But when you say old version of my client, is it the one im using now?  Its called wave dex at the top left when you open it up.  This is the waves desktop client i downloaded a while back.

So i type my waves client password into this screen and then sign in?  I want to be sure we are talking about the same screen here?

Because there is only 2 waves wallet right?  One is the wavesliteclient with google chrome and the waves desktop client?  I also know there is that waveskeeper as well but i never used or installed that.
1738  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES - Complete Blockchain ecosystem for a token economy on: December 08, 2019, 05:04:07 AM
Haven't logged into the waves client in a while.   Last time it showed a message that you needed to do something with it so i did not bother with it.

Now i open the waves client and on the top left in shows Wave Dex but on middle of screen it shows

The message shows

we no longer operating this service.

To continue working with your existing accounts, assets and exchange, you should move your accts to the new waves.exchange.  We strongly recommend that you do this ASAP.  Migration process is fast, easy and absolutely secure.

To start migrating, please sign in

Dont worry all your tokens, seed phrases and passwords are safe.

There is option to type in my password

So i type in my waves password here and then continue?

But no matter what, as long as I have my waves seed phrase, im fine right?

Back then i used the wavesliteapp that was used with google chrome but i was told i should use the waves client as almost all ppl use that.

So in my situation now, what do i do?  I mean when you see a message like this when logging in waves.dex, it would concern ppl because it say to do this asap.  Because what if you don't log into your waves account for years?

I mean as long as you have your old waves seed, you are fine no matter what right?  And when was this change?

Could i even use the waves lite client now still though?

Where are you all buying/selling beancash now?
1740  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best Way to Convert BTC to FIAT for American? on: November 20, 2019, 02:45:09 AM
As of now, best options to cash out as an American?

What about an American that is outside the US?  I can't use gemini outside the US because they require a US sms number.  I have a US google voice number that can call/text and receive call and text but gemini recognizes the number as a VOIP number.

Anyone here done wire with bitstamp with no issue?  What about binance?
