901  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔷 Waves Tech - a powerful blockchain-agnostic ecosystem on: August 30, 2021, 04:42:37 AM
Just noticed the layout of waves.exchange looks different from the last time i logged in.
How do you view your waves staked?  I don't know where im suppose to click on to see it?  I do see my waves balance and of total of x amount of waves total though.
Also, does usdn staking percentage change literally daily or weekly?  I never did any staking... except only waves... but i recalled last time they gave a lot more percentage with staking on usdn?

You can see your staked Waves here: https://waves.exchange/investments/staking/WAVES

Interest varies due to more or less of the total stock being staked or not.

I manage my Waves token and Waves-based assets I own with waves.exchange in my browser. Now I wanted to connect Vires.finance with my account, but each time I click on "connect"-button on Vires.Finance and type in my waves.exchange password I get the message "Waves Keeper login rejected". I do not have Waves Keeper addon installed on my browser. Do I need to install it to get the connection? If so, why does it not work by just being logged into my waves.exchange account in the browser?

I don't have enough experience with Vires.Finance, but if you log in with Waves Keeper, you need to install the Waves Keeper plugin.

I"m confused.  I can't view my staked waves with the waves.exchange client?

I click on wallet and then assets and see my waves balance... of total waves balance.  So how do i view these staked waves?  Last time i logged in, there was a way to click on the staked waves and have the option of unstaking it.  I am still going to keep staking waves but where is this option?
902  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: How To Verify the Downloaded Version of Ledger Live on: August 30, 2021, 04:21:32 AM
Well I remember few months ago, there was a ledger live update and it was mentioned you could not download the update like normal by clicking on update now on ledger live program and had to go directly to ledger.com site in order to do the update.  Isn't that true?

Because of that, I didn't do any ledger live update since then.  Previously before this, i always click update on the top right corner in ledger live.

So its confirmed... you can do this now?  But a while back, you couldn't... correct?

Reason I didn't download directly from ledger site is because people mention you need to make sure to verify the signature of the download and I didn't know how to do that... so I didn't download download any update since then.

Thanks.

Are the defi interest rates flat like with stablecoins like usdt or usdc though?  I cannot use many sites due to my country even though im abroad because im still a resident in the US.
904  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: How To Verify the Downloaded Version of Ledger Live on: August 29, 2021, 01:00:29 AM
Also even though I never downloaded the newest version of ledger live... everytime i sign in ledger live, it does show synchronized in the top right corner.  So if you never updated never live but it does shown synchronize... your balance should always be correct right?
905  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: How To Verify the Downloaded Version of Ledger Live on: August 29, 2021, 12:58:11 AM
Im still using the older version of ledger live as i haven't updated it in a few months because i remember people said you couldn't just click download update on the top right corner when you open ledger live and needed to go directly to ledger site to download the new ledger live update.  Is this still true or not?   Before this, I always slick download update and then it updated to newest version of ledger ilve.

When i open ledger live, i see message of

Update to Ledger Live version 2.32.2

Can you just click on download update like I did back then... or do i need to go directly to ledger site to do it?

Also I haven't connected my ledger live to my laptop in few months.  Is it fine to connect it to the laptop while still using the older version of ledger live?  Or should one always have the updated version of ledger live first before connecting the nano ledger s to it?  Back then, i always downloaded any updates on ledger live since it was as simple as click download update on top right corner of ledger live.

907  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Nano Ledger S Supported Coins Question on: August 02, 2021, 03:33:08 AM
So right now I have to withdraw powerledger to the nano ledger.  Reason being I have powerledger in an exchange and just kept it there for a while.  Now when i go and withdraw powerledger in an exchange, it shows the fee to be paid is in powerledger.  So one doesn't need ETH to withdraw right?  It also ask me to choose which withdraw network... but only one in dropdown menu is ETH.

So install the powerledger app on nano ledger and thats all right?  Then get the receive address and thats all?  Do i need to use other wallet like myetherwallet with it?  The thing is i know powerledger is an ERC token as i read this.

I also have a tiny bit of BNB coin i want to withdraw from that exchange as well.  Someone said i need to use a third party wallet along with the nano ledger?  So which wallet is that?

908  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance decreased withdrawal limits for basic verified users. on: August 02, 2021, 03:28:53 AM
So i have some powerledger in my binance account.  When i go to withdraw, i see there is option to do this.  The fee is paid in powerledger right?  It ask for the address... and also the network.  The only network it shows is ETH.

So I don't need ETH to withdraw powerledger right?

Now which exchange account can i open to store powerledger?  I do have a hardware wallet and they support powerledger but i need to use it together with myetherwallet?
909  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Just created an account with Gemini & have questions on: August 02, 2021, 03:12:07 AM
Im outside the US.  But I know i could use gemini here because i had logged into my account a while back before.  Again the issue is not having a us sms number.

What i want to know is when im back in the US and get a real US phone number, do I still need that number afterwards?  Because im planning to get a US number just for activation of my gemini account... then use it for that month only and not use it again because i would be outside the US after that.  So i could then use google authenticator or authy each time to log into my gemini account right?  I want to know... if i need that phone number.  Someone said its only for verification.

If that is the case, couldn't i have someone close use their phone number for gemini verification?  Thus have the sms code sent to them, they tell me what it is... then i get verified?  By that i mean doing that abroad as i will call them to their US number and say... i want you to get a sms message so i could use that for my verification?  But the big thing is make sure they dont have a gemini account right?  Then after that, activate google authenticator or authy and then use gemini while abroad?
910  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance decreased withdrawal limits for basic verified users. on: July 31, 2021, 06:51:47 AM
So I have some funds in binance still at the moment.  Im a us citizen but im abroad and i never once logged into my binance account while in the US.  I never did any verification.  I heard a while back, apparently binance no longer allows US citizens to use binance anymore and to withdraw their funds.  I still have funds on binance at the moment as I just keep my coins there.  I haven't done any trades at all in a long time.

Because of this, should i withdraw my all altcoins to my own wallet?  Or should i sell the altcoin i have on binance for btc or usdt/usdc and then transfer it to my own wallet?
911  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Just created an account with Gemini & have questions on: July 30, 2021, 06:31:24 AM
So here is my issue.  A while back when I was abroad, i signed up for gemini while abroad.  Then during this process, it ask for my us number which i did give it... a google voice number which i use to call/text people in the US while abroad.  But gemini notices its a voip number and doesn't allow it.  So because of that, it doesn't work.

The thing is while I was in the US, I didn't bother to set this up.  Thus i could have just bought like one of those cheap US sim cards and use it for a few weeks or a month and pay for that... then use it as the sms number to set up my account right?  Thing is i am rarely in the US that long but i dont mind buying a sim card for this process.  So wouldnt a burner phone be not needed?  More like just buy any US sim card and use it for this one type activation?  The thing though... is do i need this phone number though?  Because i just plan to buy a sim card for the US number... activate it... then when im back abroad... do i still need this number for verification or not?  Or can i use authy afterwards?  Again i dont need a us mobile monthly plan because im abroad and already use that abroad non us mobileplan.  So when im back in the US, i actually still use my abroad non us plan when in the US because they allow roaming.  So i havent used a us sim card in many years.

But if i buy a us sim card just to do this activation... is that all that is needed with gemini?  Thus after that verification, that number is no longer needed right?  Yea i had thought about using someone elses phone number in the US to do this activation.  But is that even allowed though?  Like have someone use their phone number as my verification... have them send me the code afterwards... then after that... its not needed anymore?  I dont want to message that person each time like ... i need the code each time like i have to log in.  Can anyone who use gemini verify and confirm this?  Such as do you need that sms phone number all the time even after verification?  Well at the moment, im abroad so i can't buy a burner phone and I am pretty sure I cannot get a US number here while abroad.  Because i want to be able to use gemini now since im abroad.  So looking at what options i have right now being abroad.
912  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BlockFi Interest? on: July 30, 2021, 06:14:30 AM
Yea im aware of this.  They do verification right... blockfi?

So what other sites can i use where there is no restriction?  Im from the US but from a restricted state... but im abroad basically almost all year though.

913  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Best Exchanges for US Customer To Buy/Sell Crypto to US Bank Account? on: July 29, 2021, 03:52:27 AM
Is what is posted back then still true to now?  I do have a coinbase account so that is the cheapest way to sell btc?
914  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BlockFi Interest? on: July 29, 2021, 03:51:06 AM
So I cannot use blockfi because im in a restricted state in the US.  Is there a way to use blockfi though if im abroad which i am at?
915  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stablecoin staking on: July 29, 2021, 03:50:03 AM
Can someone explain the apy vs interest rate?  If a site offers l0 percent apy vs l0 percent interest... how much do you earn a year if you put say l0k usd into it for a year?  I know its l000 dollars but is that for apy or interest?
916  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Just created an account with Gemini & have questions on: July 29, 2021, 03:46:55 AM
Anyone can answer the above question?  Im abroad but would like to use gemini but dont have a us sms number.
917  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Live 2.29.0 - Windows Users on: July 10, 2021, 09:35:38 PM
Can you update ledger live now on the windows app as oppose to going directly to their website?  Still using the older ledger live at the moment because i didn't want to download the new ledger live a while back when they said it had to be done on the website.
918  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: 25th Word in Nano Ledger S on: July 10, 2021, 09:34:45 PM
Well I didn't use this extra word because im concerned of something wrong happening.  When i check reddit, i see many people mention how they can't access their wallet and either that extra word is incorrect.. or it ws correct but then it showed no coins on it.

Again most people agree this is an advanced feature and should only be used if you know what you are doing right?  And again if you were to do this... its preferable to do this with having two nano ledger s right?

When i asked about this a while back, i mentioned how i kept btc in my nano ledger s.  And i wanted to do this extra word but if i do this, i need to send the majority of my coins from my current wallet to the new hidden wallet.  And someone mentioned you could still do this... just make sure your seed is correct and you have it.  But when you do this, don't you still need to put wrong pin three times to reset it?  So when you create a new wallet and get a new seed, then create a passphrase, then reset it and input the new seed to make sure it works.  Then send tiny amount of btc to both of these new wallets... the new wallet and hidden.  But before you do this, you need to input your old seed back into your nano ledger s to send it.  But dont you need to make sure you copy your new btc address and new hidden btc address on your computer... and then you need to copy/paste that seed into it?

Then once it shows the tiny amount of btc in both the new wallet and new hidden wallet... then send the majority of your coins to the new hidden wallet?

It seems like there could be easily an error here if you trying to do this with just one nano ledger s... assuming you have your coins stored there right now?  Because you need to reset devices multiple times during this process?
919  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Do You Eject Your Hardware Wallet Before Disconnecting It from Your Computer? on: July 10, 2021, 09:26:29 PM
I never actually thought about this.  I might have done this once or maybe twice a long time ago.  But when you click on eject device, what does it show in the bottom right corner in a windows computer when you do that?

920  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens to the coins after your death ? on: July 10, 2021, 09:25:04 PM
The big issue here is what if the people you want to leave your coins to are not tech savy?  Say you leave them your seed and tell them that is your seed for your hardware wallet.  I mean even if they have your seed and or ledger/trezor device, if they are not tech savy, how would they go about claiming it?

Are there services that assist people who have crypto seed to help them claim their coins and say help them send the coins to that person's coinbase account and they then take a percentage for helping?  Like a flat amount or percent of the crypto in their account?  Obviously anyone that is familiar with crypto and hardware wallet could easily help someone claim someone's coins with the seed.
