1721  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Deflation in signature campaigns on: March 25, 2023, 05:23:34 PM

Also if you think that in the future some campaign will try to collect the majority of ex-CMs in a higher paying campaign.
Bitcointalk is still the best place to advertise anything related to Cryptocurrency

I have not Known how advertisement happens in some other online forums, but in the bitcointalk, I have known how the advertisement works. Apart from the chipmixer which advertised in bitcointalk together with no gambling companies such as Best_Change.

Bitcointalk is best in advertising gambling-related businesses. As you can see more than 80% of the signature campaigns in this forum is gambling-related. I am yet to know how gambling adopted cryptocurrency very fast more than other sectors of the economy.
While we are expecting Alanother big mixer to show up. It is possible that another gambling company like Livecasino may show up.
New crypto casinos are popping often but to establish their name and bring reputation will take time as well as starting new business especially a gambling company is not that easy because first they need to get a gambling license then need to spend money on advertising so their name will get recognised by crypto community and very few casinos managed to do all that is very small time frame.
1722  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the biggest problem you think AI can fix in gambling on: March 25, 2023, 04:39:42 PM
If I am not wrong even an offline casino introduced something called face recognition which finds behaviour of all the gamblers of table and alerts when someone is cheating like making set-up, giving hits with sign language, counting cards, etc.

Still AI technology is in the infant stage so we can't be sure about their accuracy over handling of anything related to abusing their ToS, what if there is some glitch in the system so AI blocked some valuable customers of casino which will ruin the reputation as well as revenue generation. So as of now it can be used to assist but it shouldn't be given the authority of making any decisions so the human can cross check and make final decisions.

Now that you've mentioned this, it made me think too. If there would be AI cameras installed in physical casinos, most probably the cheating issues could be resolved and monitored closely without the help of staff lurking around the premises that could bother the other players. Although we can't really say for sure if there wouldn't be error on the reading of the AI but it could be a great start to remove the interest of those people who want to cheat the other players or the casino itself.

However, I'm still a firm believer that AI shouldn't be the sole reliance for every instance. Human intervention is still needed even from afar. So, maybe incorporating AI tech with better security will suffice.
AI technology will be the future there is no doubt in that, even at this beginning stage of AI technology many people are predicting AI can do more harm than positive things to us especially it will take all the jobs of humans so people will be left stranded for survival or just shown in some movies skynet the AI program will take over the world and start ruling it.
1723  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Legal side to promoting bitcoin. on: March 24, 2023, 08:46:02 PM
If I am not wrong Elon admitted Bitcoin will be the future of cryptocurrency as well as for Doge but he didn't get any legal issues however he never promoted it he just mentioned it so people get aware also he used the influence to manipulate the prices of multiple times.

Actually no one is going to pay for you to promote bitcoin and there is no need for it as well since most people atleast heard the word bitcoin after 2020.
1724  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: It's not safe to be a crypto influencer on: March 24, 2023, 07:18:53 PM
I definitely disagree because they are living a luxurious life from the money which actually they are making because of their social media influence so they also need to assess the risk before doing any promotion or should have proper contract with the company from your side about not having any responsibility in case if the company fails, etc..

Some of the crypto enthusiasts are raising their voice against these influencers because these people were misguided by celebrity to invest on a shit projects.
1725  Economy / Reputation / Re: 1xbit1.com account impersonating 1xbit.com scam casino on: March 24, 2023, 04:37:23 PM
A new scam platform is trying to impersonate the existing known scam platform which is kind of dump move from the new individual or team. However they are collecting the data of 1xbit scam victims which is a threat to the privacy and also there are chances of victims likely to be asked to send particular amount which can be small or big from same address they deposited to 1xbit for confirmation or something in that way the financial loss is also possible.
1726  Other / Archival / Re: [History] Censorship on bitcointalk on: March 23, 2023, 07:23:49 PM
I haven't seen anything like that too, usually if their language is too inappropriate and not really needed then it will be deleted instead of editing the inappropriate texts but mods are human too so sometimes they want to teach lesson for trolls like those with such kind of actions.

The censorship on bitcointalk is more liberal than other forums based on my experience so its very rare to see someone gets penalty for bad words or unkind behaviour.

1728  Economy / Economics / Re: Always Have a financial record in whatever business you own on: March 23, 2023, 07:23:06 AM
This doesn't applies only for business, every individual need to maintain their income and expense record and actually this is the first step we need to follow when we wanted to save money, invest and get better life style than how we used to be now.

I personally know many of my friends don't have such habits even though they are making lot of money with decent job still they are living pay check to pay check and need to use the credit cards when the expenses get out of their limits and I know this all happens because they don't really know whether they are spending the hard earned money in the right way or just to show off among others.

@OP this is very wide topic, not even an article is enough cause we need to write a book about this to explain more in detail.
1729  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Best platform for crypto exchange on: March 23, 2023, 06:11:38 AM
Hello friends, I really wanna start investing and using crypto on daily basis Please let me know what are the best ways to do it? Where should I start? Thanks a lot in advance!
I assume the word using as spending because that is what the money is actually created for.

There are some online websites accepts bitcoin as payment for like buying good or paying subscription fee but if you want to spend it for everything then bitrefil is the best possible way because you can buy coupons, gift cards with bitcoin then use it to pay for anything you want.
1730  Other / Meta / Re: unforgivable evil I did not commit. on: March 22, 2023, 07:00:43 PM
Evil is evil or bad or etc and this won't even be considered by theymos to be changed in the future cause it bothers nobody or very few,
It actually bothers a lot of new members who register on the forum. New registrations make up a bulk of members on the forum and if you check the statistics, there are lots of members who register and never make a post here on the forum, some due to loss of interest and sme due to proxy bans, a lot of which who have never had an account on the forum and did not contribute to the units of evil.

It turns away many new members, and while it is yet to be removed, theymos has implemented a strategy that creates an alternative other than paying the fee.#

- Jay -
I don't really think many people left the forum because they had evil points at the time of registration which forces them to pay in bitcoins, and we also don't know the stats so I am just being neutral here, AFAIK, avoid using TOR while registering bitcointalk itself can end up in smooth process with no evil points then they csn use TOR network for accessing bitcointalk if they really concerned about their IP address stored on forum database.
1731  Other / Meta / Re: unforgivable evil I did not commit. on: March 22, 2023, 03:51:42 PM
- hilariousandco, thank you for step by step answer you gave to my post. I like the way you made the answers well formatted along with my questions. You said "evil" fee is to avoid people abusing some proxies. But why is the name "evil" used. It should have been an euphemism or to use a word synonymous to evil. I mean the "evil" on its own looks damaging and scary. Imagine coming to a forum and is immediately faced with an evil.

The word Evil isn't that scery to me and you doesn't have to worry either, it doesn't mean you committed a crime that is why you IP got Evil points, its due to the proxies and this is a system created to stop the abuse of auto bot creations if I am not wrong.

Evil is evil or bad or etc and this won't even be considered by theymos to be changed in the future cause it bothers nobody or very few, you will get used to this old forum discussions and also chances of getting addicted to it. Cheesy
1732  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: WazirX blocks 2,431 users after Foreign & Indian Law Enforcement Agency Notices on: March 22, 2023, 02:02:03 PM
Not just Waxirx, almost every exchange blacklist accounts when they receive notice from the regulatory body then how can we claim that cryptocurrency is encouraging the criminal activities? I don't see any reason for accusing in that way since they are helpful with seizing the money acquired from hack, scam, etc...
They can take advantage of it to scam you anytime.

When they flag your account like this and block it, chance for you to appeal and get a second chance to unlock your account is zero. It they made mistakes, you can have a second chance from appeal but if they intentionally do it, no chance.

Exchanges are not transparent with their criteria to block your account. They simply tell you that they have internal criteria for that.
Yes, it's possible but I didn't face any such issues while I am mostly using centralized exchanges for trading purposes and also I prefer the exchange with better customer support so atleast I need to know the reason from their side why they blocked that account so the victim either a criminal or innocent can further proceed legally to access convicted funds.

1734  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Dubai a Bitcoin Friendly City? on: March 21, 2023, 02:41:06 PM
@OP Dubai is one of the most welcoming and tax friendly country on this land and also zero income tax policy makes it as a heaven for whoever wants to invest their money.

Holding and trading of cryptocurrency in Dubai isn't an offence since some of the influencers I knew become millionaires with their bitcoin investment so you're good to go.

Almost all the cex allows if I am not wrong but liquidity depends on the exchange, personally I prefer p2p for crypto to fiat trades because whereas for crypto trades there is no shortage of liquidity on centralized exchanges.
1735  Other / Meta / Re: Can I merit a banned account? on: March 21, 2023, 11:37:23 AM
There is no doubt that what the OP is asking is possible, but is it possible for a banned account to send merits? I am primarily referring to permanently banned accounts -

As of now, sMerits of permanently banned account can't be spent.

At the time when merit system was introduced it was possible then after sometime it's found that banned accounts too got airdrop merits based on their activity number and they used to abuse it by trading merits then theymos restricted banned accounts from sending merits but they can still receive merits.

I am trying to find that old thread about but not really able to find cause it's few years old thread if my assumption is right.
1736  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: March 21, 2023, 01:22:12 AM
Unpopular opinion. Have a separate device, like an old functioning Android device, solely for storing 2FA keys. This can reduce the risk of accidentally deleting keys, which can be challenging to set up, especially if you have numerous registered exchanges and casinos.

Similar to how you handle seed phrases, write down your 2FA keys on a piece of paper or a small notebook and keep them in a safe place.

not so unpopular
I agree that this is one of the best ways to go too
and backup this device

sometimes backing up the 2FA keys is not enough, more than once when I tried recovering 2FA keys from 2FA backups it resulted in different keys than the real ones

watch out
Having separate device is preferable but it shouldn't be not too old cause if its have too outdated operating system and also no security patch update which means the device is more vulnerable which can be a problem too. If you're having 2FA recovery codes for multiple accounts then you should have proper notes sticked along with the code or else you will be confused what is the recovery code for the account you're trying to recover.

Also avoid using Google authenticator because it doesn't support export option so we have to disable old 2FA and create new when switching our devices.
1737  Other / Archival / Re: Question for forum moderators on: March 20, 2023, 11:42:59 PM
There have been a couple that have been let go over the years, but most mods are removed just due to inactivity. Quite a few mods seem to get burned out and just disappear. I can't blame them. Hopefully they're sat on a beach somewhere or just enjoying their life offline.

Enjoying their life?
Just curios, did theymos pay all the mods for their work or were they doing it as a voluntary job without any demand of money? If they were not getting paid, I think this could also be the reason why some of them left and got fired from their position.
The criteria of pay includes other factors too but as a common member I am not aware of what are the factors included in mods pay and if it only depends on their numbers of reports handled surely they will be handling more reports then only more pay or all of the forum mods are too rich. Cheesy just sarcasm no offence fellas.

@OP.mods of mining board and politics were removed after some controversies and Lauda the remaining members were removed only after their long inactive and still some of them being a staff even though they didn't use the forum for years.
1738  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Low demands as bitcoin declined in price. on: March 20, 2023, 10:55:16 PM
For the last few weeks the price of Bitcoin is on the rising side then how can you say that demand for Bitcoin is declining? Cause price increase proportional to the increase of demand.

I don't expect government to make bitcoin as legal tender so that we can use bitcoin without any panic because they will not let the decentralized money to grow which is actually against their own system so they will be doing such thing unless they left with no other choice.
1739  Other / Meta / Re: [Guide] Use Bitcointalk (more) privately on: March 20, 2023, 09:25:30 PM

Privacy is not my ultimate priority but who really needs should practice all the points mentioned by OP to achieve it.
I noticed that you are advertising for Roobet; a mostly unregulated crypto casino registered in Curacao. It may be desirable for your real identity not to be linked to Roobet, due to obvious reasons.

I understand the risk of providing KYC documents to centralized platforms but it's somehow unavoidable at all circumstances for instance I used to trade a lot so I don't have any other option than doing KYC verification then only I get the higher trading limits, and for casino it's almost become mandatory on every crypto casino so it's you decision whether you want to use their platform or not but I have done KYC on Roobet since I am using their service and also I can't advertise without knowing anything about the platform.
1740  Other / Meta / Re: [Guide] Use Bitcointalk (more) privately on: March 19, 2023, 05:13:50 PM
Avoid using your real name as username because some members used to register with their own name and few of them managed to get them changed by requesting theymos but in future it should be avoided.

I used Tor for accessing bitcointalk but even though the forum UI is simple which still feels lags while clicking thread or posting so I am mostly using it on chromium but only in my personal devices and I never logged in from any other devices and also I am using always logged in feature so captcha doesn't bother me much.

Privacy is not my ultimate priority but who really needs should practice all the points mentioned by OP to achieve it.
