Hello Roobet team.

I was trying to open my Roobet account but I don't have access to the phone where I used to have the 2FA. Is there a way to recover my account without the 2FA?

In case I can't recover it, is there a chance that I can open a new account?

I personally experienced this issue sometime back on Crypto.Games. I formatted my mobile and completely forgot about my 2FA keys which screwed me, but I was able to recover everything thanks to their customer support.

Obviously, the customer support staff will assist the player who lost access to their 2fa.  I haven't had the experience before so I may ask if you have to submit KYC for this to progress and got resolved.

I believe many of us made that mistake - ignoring that reminder and did not back up secret key / recovery key when we set up our 2FA for exchange account or account on site like FortuneJack. Maybe we write it down but don't know its importance and don't store that paper piece too carefully. Later when we need it for recovery, we might not be able to find that paper or need lot of time to remember where it is.

I used to work as a customer staff so I know many users don't mind to make such back up. When their phone get stolen or broken technically, they only have one choice, opening support ticket and wait.

If they have such backup, they can import the key and recovery it within a few minutes, no need to wait for customer support that surely takes a little bit time.

Yeah. I made the mistake of not saving the backups of my 2FA accounts which led to bigger issues as I mentioned in my previous post. I suggest storing backups in a cloud storage application like Keep etc.

This might take another cost but it can work better, I also have this option where I save my important details to other phone while the other is for my crypto purposes like trading and gambling, I actually don't use the same phone for the same purpose. I don't know but I think this is more safe for me and the only risk is losing it. Losing your 2FA might be a big problem, and some site might not be able to help you since they also have no details about this security so use the best option for you and make sure to save it at all cost.

I was expecting to get an answer from the staff on this thread, but as you mentioned, it looks like they are not active in the forum anymore, maybe this thread should be locked because if they will not answer their customers then this thread is nonsense.

I try to contact live support in the site, but I want able, I think that we need an account for that, and I if create a new account then I'm risking the other one because multiple accounts are not allowed. So, it is a tricky situation.

My phone automatically turned off a few days ago and started the recovery system. Then recovery to turn on the phone deleted everything. Then I saved my saved seed phrases from there without worrying. And reinstall everything.

I have left my seed phrase in a very safe place. I write down my personal seed phrase and 2FA in a paper notebook, also in google drive. That's why I haven't been cheated here till date. But I hope to be able to work safely like this in the future.

Be careful when you use seed phrase that should imply about mnemonic seed which belongs to your cryptocurrency wallets, not belong to 2FA.

With 2FA, you will have secret code before activate your 2FA on your account security settings. It is also used for recovery in situation like yours when a user lost initial set up by a phone issue from technical to thief.

When you activate your 2FA, you backup a secret code, that is good but not enough. You must try to use the secret code to import a second account on your 2FA to test whether it works (no typo) and matches with the initial one. If you wrote down wrongly and import wrongly with one character in the secret code, you will get a different 2FA account.

Thank you very much for the tip. I know I need this because the bad thing have already happened to me and that is I accidentally deleted my 2fa in my android device. I didn't made any back up so my last resort now is to wait for the response of that gambling site I message about the issue.

If I can't recover my account well I guess I need to move on and maybe create another one if I have the urge to play on them again. I still want my old account though because I already done a KYC there and we all know how hard it is to complete. It needs so many retakes of ID and selfie only for the system to validate that it was our own real identity.

When you experience your first time to nearly lose your account because you forget its 2FA and inside it you have big capital, you would be super panic. Not all exchanges will give you instant or quick support. In 2017 and 2018, exchanges like Poloniex had very poor support with long delayed response to support ticket. It is one of reasons they lost their first position to Bittrex then Binance.
I forgot to mention about another issue when you backup 2FA secret code. You will have two options, with QR code or with character code. I'd prefer to backup both of them but more prefer to backup the character code. Lastly, some exchanges will give you option to print it with a print page contains their exchange information. I don't like this format as it can put my backup under more curious eyes if they occasionally see my paper. So if I print it, I will cut exchange information (of course I must have note that what code is for what account).

Having separate device is preferable but it shouldn't be not too old cause if its have too outdated operating system and also no security patch update which means the device is more vulnerable which can be a problem too. If you're having 2FA recovery codes for multiple accounts then you should have proper notes sticked along with the code or else you will be confused what is the recovery code for the account you're trying to recover.

Also avoid using Google authenticator because it doesn't support export option so we have to disable old 2FA and create new when switching our devices.

Well since we can not see how many times he had to try to get this kind of winning, we can not determine the luck  In any case you can get lucky anytime, even at the first try. Thats the beauty of gambling. Also roobet seems like a fair casino, which also seems to be an important part of the luck.
