As far as I know, BCX would be a decent Altcoin mod. I'm familiar with the controversies which happened, what like two years ago? I will say that BCX has been a longstanding member of the alt coin community, and while rather blunt in most cases, would know what they are doing.

bump

Too bad you dont have any US junk silver...Let me know if you ever get some in the future  Cool

Will do, I buy/sell/trade around quite a bit, so I'll keep an eye out. I have another 400 Oz or so of .999 that I might put up for sale in the coming weeks.
1723  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Buy, Sell, or Trade Collectors Silver, Gold, and Bullion on: August 06, 2014, 04:55:46 PM

1725  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Buy, Sell, or Trade Collectors Silver, Gold, and Bullion on: August 05, 2014, 11:07:24 PM
Pictures added, thanks for bearing with me guys. I've got a bit more silver coming in soon that I'm helping my sister sell, so watch for that as well, very nice pieces  Smiley

And, remember, I will buy and trade as well, while I do need the cash for my submarine, it can wait a little bit if you have some cool stuff to trade or pieces to sell.
1726  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Buy, Sell, or Trade Collectors Silver, Gold, and Bullion on: August 05, 2014, 03:57:30 AM
I'll buy these please

I've bought metal several times from Salty and never had any worthwhile issues. Always been smooth. We had a lost coin once but Salty made that right ASAP. Great trader.

Thanks  Smiley

On a side note, I'll have pictures up tomorrow. I rely heavily on natural light for photos, and it is almost 9pm my time. Moonlight just doesn't really do the trick.

Forget pictures of the silver,  I want to see pictures of the submarine!

It is a yellow submarine I'm guessing  Roll Eyes

mmm haven't decided whether or not I'll paint it, if I do, it will probably be gray. I live near the water, so I'm building an 8 foot nuclear submarine for giggles. Although, in case my idea doesn't work, I can convert it to battery powered, with solar supplement if I'm feeling trendy.

Yeah, that's wrong, not sure where he got that from. I suggested it a couple times in the staff forum, maybe that's it.

Ah, that must have been it. I could have sworn the reason why the counting threads were allowed in off topic, was because it didn't count toward post count. My bad.

Hey guys, I had planned to get pictures and prices added today, however its a bit late in the day, and my lighting is really bad for pictures, so I'll have them up early tomorrow. Sorry about that, I'll contact everyone who had questions shortly.
1731  Other / Meta / Re: It's this stupid shit that pisses me off. on: August 04, 2014, 08:31:00 AM
Posting in off topic doesn't add to your post count or activity last time I checked, so its not a huge deal in this particular instance.

Updated 10/19

Hey guys, I've got a bit of silver and gold for sale I'd like to sell to fund a submarine that I'm building. From my experience with this forum, I've learned to hear out any offers that anyone has, so while I would prefer BTC, Cash, or ASICs (Scrypt or SHA) I am completely open to offers, because you guys have cool stuff. I am shipping from the U.S, and will not ship to Australia or Germany. I can ship out of the country, however I will not falsify the customs declaration. I implore you to check your own laws to make sure that customs will not seize the package. I am incredibly flexible with shipping methods, I will help to the best of my ability to find the cheapest shipping options with adequate protections, however, it is completely up to the buyer to choose which they want. I will not be liable for packages lost by the postal service if they are under protected by buyer's wishes. For example, if you wish me to throw your order into a garbage bag and ship it with some guy on a bus, I will, however I cannot help you if it goes missing. I will always recommend Signature confirmation, tracking number, and insurance. But, the cost risk benefit is not always there, so I leave all options open to the buyer.

I am also always looking to purchase metals for my personal stash, so if you have any pieces for sale or trade, please don't hesitate to PM me. I should mention, please don't bother sending me fakes. I have sophisticated testing procedures that will pull out any fakes you could possibly send. If you want to test me, you are welcome to, but I will ask that you pay for the return shipping if you want them back.

I am completely open to escrow, however I have done many similar trades, please check my trust rating, including "untrusted" feedback.

To save myself a lot of typing and making my formatting strange, I will place letters next to each items signifying description.

BU - Brilliant Uncirculated, that is the general term for a coin or round that has not been graded, however it has been handled with care, lacking discernible physical damage. AKA fresh from the mint

AT- The piece comes in an airtite container, protecting the piece from damage and improper handling

MS#- Mint State, as graded by a certified coin grader. Comes in a airtite capsule, guaranteed by the coin grading company to stay in the graded condition. MS70 is the highest grade

SP - Sealed in Plastic from the mint (common with bars)

Coins not shipping in Air Tite containers, will be shipped in plastic coin flips.

1733  Other / Meta / Re: Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules - Work in progress on: July 31, 2014, 10:50:48 PM
This is great. I think the list should be vetted by forum administration and stickied.
I think that's intentional there is no comprehensive rulebook.
Why so?

No "official" set of rules was ever published, because if rules are set in stone, then people will come up with clever ways to bypass them, and then complain when a moderator takes action. This is however a very good thread to read to find out in general what you can and can't do. I do believe it should be stickied, but kept as "unofficial"
1734  Other / Meta / Re: Petition to introduce minimum activity count for ANN thread starters on: July 28, 2014, 10:51:38 PM
I should have mentioned, what I really mean by Alt Currencies being essentially an off topic section, is that I highly doubt any additional time is going to go into it at this moment. There is promise of a revised system with the new forum software, however Theymos and the software development team aren't going to bother fixing a temporary issue. Its just not a section with a high priority.
1735  Other / Meta / Re: Petition to introduce minimum activity count for ANN thread starters on: July 28, 2014, 10:43:03 PM
There is no difference between being able to create a thread, and being able to create and ANN thread. So what you are asking, is for people to not be able to create threads until a certain activity count, which wont happen.
According to some, Bitcointalk.org had a similar restriction on the Alt section previously. Are you saying that is not true?
Besides, I've been on other boards where certain sections are off-limits to members below specific qualifying thresholds.

No, there has never been any restriction on the Alt coin section, people seem to forget that the Alt Coin section isn't one that Bitcointalk especially cares about, its more or less an off topic board so people that wish to talk about alt coins don't post in with Bitcoin discussion. What they were talking about, is that people were confined to the newbie board until they had a few spam posts, and left their account logged on for 4 hours, which was done away with. Now there are just time restrictions on when people can post, rather than cutting them off entirely.

well what about re-instating the old rule but instead of only being able to talk in the Newby section
we could have new guys only able to post in the normal section (and not the ANN section)

see what i mean when comparing the new idea with the old rule that was previously abandoned ? (after i signed up)

i am talking about the restriction that was enforced on me and others when i signed up..
and that went as follows..
simply put, i was not allowed to post in the Main ANN section until my post count got to 16 comments or something like that.
and i think what the majority is saying is lets do that but for just the ANN section..
as in you can't create a topic in the ann section unless you have a certain amount of comments already.
this HAS to be possible because it was ALREADY like this when is signed up LOL

I'm a bit confused by what you mean Main ANN section? We are talking about people making coin ANN threads in the Alt Coin section correct? There isn't anything different about creating a normal thread and an ANN thread, people just put [ANN] in the title. I believe you are talking about Newbie restrictions, back when no one was allowed to post outside of the newbie board, we most likely aren't going back to how that was before. Theymos talked about removing the newbie section for quite a while before moving us over to an Activity system.

Frankly, the forums views the alt coin section similarly to the off topic section. If people want to post that they are stuck in Nigeria and need $1,000 to get home with their $100 Million inheritance, at a certain point its up to people to not be dumb. If people want to invest in poorly made coins that are dead in a week, how is that any different from investing in a startup company on the stock market that fails after launch. Risk vs. Reward, there can be big money to be made in new coins, so people keep throwing money in. Some coins flop, and people still throw money in, so why wouldn't people make new worthless coins to make a buck?

A lot of people care about alt coins. Even those who stuck their noses up at alt coins should at least utter a quiet word of thanks to alts. Alt coins have brought a lot of positives to Bitcoin and the world of crypto in general.
That's a very interesting perspective on altcoins... can you name these positives please?

I can, coins showing up in your wallet, "unconfirmed" before they have had a single confirmation was a feature first shown in Solidcoin. Back in day, if you bought Bitcoins from someone, they had 10 minutes to run and hide before you knew if they had scammed you or not. Now, when someone says, "coins sent" in a few seconds you see that they were sent, and they are just unconfirmed.

1737  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Buying BTC with moneypak on: July 26, 2014, 05:49:57 AM
I only send code.
I have 1x500 and 1x1000 right now.
already traded 1000 with LouReed (I had $2500 in total).
I can show pic but the thing is that I have all 3 receipts in one picture and that's why I can not send it if you only wanna trade 500.

Ah, gotcha, I'll pass for now. Thanks though.
1738  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Buying BTC with moneypak on: July 26, 2014, 05:35:23 AM
I BUY BTC WITH MONEYPAK.
All Moneypaks are purchased with cash!
Can trade 3-6k per week.
I offer bitstamp + 10%
we can trade using local or escrow through LouReed (traded 10k with him over the last 2-3 weeks so he can vouch for me)

*no pics or write username on the receipt or any other BS ! I send codes and you send the coins, that's it !
I only have $500 and $1000 codes.

I'd take a $500 card, however on the grounds that you do take a picture of the card with the receipt. I don't care about the username, but I do want to see that it was indeed purchased with cash which it states on the receipt. I'm good with any reputable escrow agent if you are interested.

lol at the tard mod that deleted my "quark is awesome"  - pic - of course rampant scams and pyramid schemes are fine and of course on "Bitcointalk" is becoming well know as scam central..... but don't post a pic ha ha

: D

love you guys

*cough* Mods dont hunt down scammers, but you are aware of that, this isn't your first day here. You have the trust system which is in the hands of the members if you feel like hunting scammers, you can go ahead. Spamming however is in the job description, and it will be removed  Smiley
1740  Other / Meta / Re: Question about forum moderation on: June 25, 2014, 10:12:10 PM
This is stupid, you would have an alt coin section if you had more traffic, each foreign section has to have enough people that it matters to add the section. At 0.17 posts per day, Theymos probably wouldn't consider adding an alt coin section. Also, translating alt coin announcement threads into other languages will get deleted 90% of the time, the exception for the most part is country coins.

Anyone trying to say Bitcointalk hates Bulgarians is a complete moron.
