1721  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: November 13, 2013, 01:25:14 AM
because i see AM cube selling/preordering already despite any announcement by friedcat so far,
i have to bring up this subject again:

What distracts me most as a shareholder is the lack of information channels.

i mean i get it that AM is just a manufacturer and the rest is mostly done via resellers.
But do i expect too much with a functioning decent website up to date with info on released products and links for the shops/auctions?
Why don't they roll out the full package to get a glance into every miner's eye? (slightly exagerrating here  Wink)
Show some pics, hell even make a rotating 3D model with some data.

I'm doing this as a job, i hereby even offer my service at this point for doing the shiny eyefuck renderings to get this going.

an example:
When i google "asicminer cube", the first site of results doesn't even give me a link to any official website.
instead i see the first 5 of 6 entries are named "ASICMiner Cube?")
and i notice preorder via wtcr (good) and hashfast advertising at the top (Tongue)
when i google "asicminer" again another hasfast advert,
then http://www.asicminer.co/ (which was last updated 4th May!!!)

I read some time ago that friedcat likes to keep a low profile and this was already discussed.
I totally understand having some amount of anonymity on the web,
but when i look at http://cointerra.com/;https://hashfast.com/;http://www.butterflylabs.com/
i see so much potential here...f**k, AM even has the "asicminer" in its company name.
that's like selling bread when your named baker™. You have to use that advantage.

this is not meant as a rant and sorry if i sound like a marketing-asshole here (comes with the job environment  Undecided)
fc will somehow sell these cubes but the overall process could be done in a much better way imo.

It does feel like investors are left out of the loop but tbh I appreciate it, AM's delivered since the IPO and most of its been on blind faith. Trust has been discussed a lot on this forum and it could even be a currency of its own one day but honour is hardly ever mentioned and its the foundations of trust. After seeing the financial report I'd guess it would take pages for FC to get us up to date on the full picture so maybe its better they break the mould and use the most despicable of words in the 21st century, trust us.

True that! I think most of us use this thread to "think out loud" seeing as there is precious little else by way of news or info to post here. FC has proven he is trustworthy again and again! I'm chomping at the bit for the really big news tho

I agree with hlynur. AM's marketing should be given serious thought. FAIK it is already being addressed. still- don't underestimate the "gift" market, esp. at xmas. billions to be made across all areas of retail. and something like this... I buy all sorts of electronics for my kid every year, and this type of "science-y" tech thing is just what granny might think her computer-obsessed grand-kids would love to own. not a sustainable market to be sure, but we are talking about unloading gen1 chips here right? when I think of all the expensive chemistry sets, and radio shack circuit board kits, and build your own radio sets I got when I was a kid... there is definitely a market there if you know how to reach it. One major retailer carrying these things would be a real leg up.
1723  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: November 13, 2013, 12:43:28 AM
at this point in the game, mining with ~30GHs is strictly a hobbyist's game. why not tap into the xmas gift market?
Mom: "kids love 'puters n stuff, and little Bobby's been begging us to help him get started mining dem bitcoins...plus, look! It's got Spongebob!"
Dad: "great idea! Buy now and beat the xmas rush!"
Little Bobby (on xmas day) "WTF??? This thing is USELESS!"

Well that might happen in a few years. As of now Bitcoin is still a geek's game. When your hairdresser and taxi driver start talking about it then you know it's a hype.

Yes, I was being facetious, but since you mention it... last month I was in a cab where the driver was going on and on about btc, PLUS, my wife is a hairdresser, and she has all sorts of tech guys as clients, so she totally talks about bitcoins with them. Just sayin' ;-)

ofc, for a gift market to open up, these miners would have to cost about 1/3 of what they do now.

I just now switched over to Eligius from slush's pool. so far so good! I will know more in a day or so, but I like the user stats interface much better already. AFAIK on average, one makes about the same amount of BTC per hashrate no matter where you go... at least I'm saving on fees here!

1726  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] - KENILWORTH - Real World Mining Opportunity with Bitcoins on: November 12, 2013, 11:44:20 PM
As usual, people didn't heed my warning. Good luck getting your money back.

what warning?
If you read the company's statement, Kenilworth has stated that their field testing results will be ready around mid december. That means they will know if there is gold or not after that time. Until then these shares will just hang there, any movement is from investor impatience or ignorance, most likely both.
ofc, If there is no news or bad news after mid December - bagholders are hooped. It is an "exploration" company afterall, its different than a purely "mining" company. Their primary goal is locating rich veins of ore to mine.

However, listing on an exchange, or at least some acknowledgement that there is progress on this front would help greatly with investor confidence.

$933,592.80 Sale Today.  Looks like a good sale.

6 24.576 TH/s Fash-Hash One Platinum machines.

Hey Ken, I've never posted here before but I have been lurking since the last thread. I own a good amount of shares and have been buying from .0005-.004 (not to be to specific but something in the 5 digit range). That is a considerable amount of risk for me to take, not to mention the risk of btc in the first place. This kind of investing can be a little anxiety provoking. I would just like to say at this point I have placed my faith in you and I'm glad I did. I believe you are working very hard to make this company a reality. Don't listen to the jackass trolls on here. I appreciate your dedication to this projects success.

Thanks.

++100
good work ken! now, please, get us on an exchange so we can take advantage of any price movement. Many here want to be ready to act if the share price rises, especially now since there has been such a dismal market lately. I know it is not only up to you alone to make this happen, but the sooner the better, bro!

all I can say is
1729  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: November 11, 2013, 03:33:31 AM
yes, Plazma, go to Havelock. I don't know why people view it so poorly, it was easy and fast to join, seems to operate fairly... I joined every exchange I could; I only use the ones I have to because I don't really like auctions, the escrow hassle and waiting, but hlynr is right. and Havelock is the only game in town, besides cryptostocks, who's prices suck and interface annoys me, or 697 which I dont really need right now unless some of the other securities list there. Plus, Havelock will improve with volume, natch.

I still wish they would de-list labcoin tho

Without looking at the video, I'm going to guess... RawDog?
exactly what I was thinking - he's so bad it's good publicity actually.

I like this guy here though - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWaw6XKbYqk - his heart is actually in the right place  Wink
1732  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Bitcoin Crash Has begun. No worries on: November 10, 2013, 04:55:04 AM
It's capping out, that's good. not every single person in the world is going to adopt at this stage, we just saw a wave. More will come later, but a slight correction ~200-250 my guess. hopefully there's some lower crashing first, I need more coins.

ofc the USD/BTC thing shouldn't matter...
1733  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: November 09, 2013, 10:34:10 PM
Tongue sorry to interrupt your serious discussion here, but...
who exactly is the issuer of these shares?
when I sell to direct shares of ActM, is it Ken Slaughter who I tell to move the shares?
seeing as how ActM is listed on no exchange and all trading must go on in the auctions forum, I need to know this.
A short primer on auctioning shares/using escrow etc. would be helpful as well, since I have never gone this route and also because I believe there may be some movement on this security "sometime in November" yet I can't see ActM listed on any exchange any time soon, certainly not before "sometime in November"

sorry to sound the fool, but BTCTC spoiled me for easy trading, I never even considered auctions before.

1735  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [100 TH] Slush's Pool (mining.bitcoin.cz); TX FEES + UserDiff; ASIC tested on: November 08, 2013, 09:14:24 PM
unconfirmed transaction here too. waiting since last night for even one confirmation.
what is going on?

also; you should all lock your payout addresses.
1736  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] - KENILWORTH - Real World Mining Opportunity with Bitcoins on: November 08, 2013, 03:57:43 AM
we need a solution for this soon.

+1

The Italians give world culture so many precious and valuable things, not the least of whitch is the ubiquitous bottle of red wine, cradled in a basket; hand woven from regional grass!

I think the word for it is ... "FIASCO!"
1738  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [28 TH] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: November 06, 2013, 10:43:25 AM
I'm about to install the bitcoin-qt client on the computer i'm running my miner through, I guess it takes a few days now... will it impair the efficiency of my asic machine?
I want to join p2pool but I have one computer I work on, and one that does the mining (which I had to replace recently - thus - no client  Cry ).

1739  Economy / Securities / Re: [CRYPTOSTOCKS] Labcoin Official Thread - Self-Moderated on: November 06, 2013, 06:53:55 AM
Just checked cryptostocks and the bids are all gone.

Our shares are now worth exactly 0$.

how is it they are valued at 0.0005 on havelock?Huh
-I requested a transfer to havelock when btctc died, but cryptostocks wouldn't do it.
1740  Economy / Securities / Re: [CRYPTOSTOCKS] Labcoin Official Thread - Self-Moderated on: November 06, 2013, 06:19:13 AM
there goes my 3 btc worth of labcoin!!!
I know its not much, but even a little is too much for me, I'm CHEAP!
Anyways, doesn't the Chinese communist justice system sort of thrive on "informants"? Like, people rat each other out all the time, don't they? I've heard of children denouncing their own parents and having them thrown in jail...
what I'm saying is, maybe a Chinese speaking labscam victim here should just contact whatever department of the chinese govt. that looks into fraud, and give them as much info on Sam Noi as we got?
no one's ever going to get their money back, but at least we can have REVENGE! At the very least it could restrict his travel to and from china, at the most, he gets a bullet in his head. A death sentence for this scammer might just send a message. (at least as far as trying it in china is concerned)
