I'm pretty pissed off because I was going to restore 13 altcoin wallets and none of those shitwallets recovered.
So, what did I do? I bought a few of those shitcoins a few months ago, about 1,5 BTC total back then. I transferred them to my local PC wallets and actually saw them (though unconfirmed because I was too lazy to wait for the complete chain to download) I'm running linux and I used a few native linux wallets (bitcoin, litecoin, possibly namecoin) and the rest were windows wallets ran through wine. All the wine wallets actually ran much easier than the linux version (I hate "make", it *never* runs without errors, but that's another discussion)
I checked all alt-chains if the coins were actually at the address which was shown in the wallet application. They still are, they are not stolen. All coins are
2 hours later....
Motherfuck... Of course. I just had to let the wallet application download the blockchain to see the balance.
I feel dumb. and happy!

Oh Jesus guys, sell sell sell and keep it low for the next month.
Why?? Because we all love cheap coins. Protip: good traders buy on the way down and sell on the way up. How many more years do you want Bitcoin to go down exactly? You've had 5 years for cheap coins. Wasn't that enough? Do you realize you will make money if people stop selling all the time and the price goes up? Never thought about ignoring people but your trolling is sooo obvious, it gets irritating. Please troll once, and then shut up or be a whale and sell 50k bitcoin Welcome to my ignore list. Why don't you actually do that instead of only saying it.

Soon it's panic buying time 3 ..2...1.. GO Don't worry, if the whales can't induce panic selling with their dump, they'll just panic buy back their OWN coins. And then back to ~$580-ish we go. this^ same for Litecoin. I hope my speculative bet will be bought.

For example it could be used as a notary service and as an alternative to patenting inventions.
Instead of writing down and idea and posting it to yourself you can type the idea in to a file, create a SHA1 hash of it and put it in the block chain. If at a later stage someone tries to steal your idea you can prove that it originated with you, or at least that you recorded it first.
Wow, I was looking for something like this! I'm definitely going to do this. I want to make some predictions about the future and store my will in the blockchain! In which ways is it different than making a transaction and putting the text in a label? If I'm not mistaken both are inside the blockchain Well, if you hash a message with SHA256, you'll get a private key of with you can generate a public key (bitaddress.org) When you send some satoshis to that address, it is locked in the blockchain but nowbody knows the message yet. Basically it is the same as a brainwallet. I don't know about the message in a label because I never used it but since it is visible it works differently

Your ownership in stocks really is as secure as you need it to be. Having your trading record embedded into the blockchain really is overkill. There are enough regulatory and internal controls that you can be certain that your shares are safe (you always have the risk that the share values go down).
No there are not. Don't just believe, do research

All my trades since February 2013 are based on the same model. So yes, I believe the same outcome, not necessarily this post at reddit.
