"They are paying" doesn't count as an argument, because every Ponzi-scheme pays perfectly. Until they don't.

Well, they have your email address, and your password. And lots of people reuse passwords.
People still do that? I pretty much guarantee you a bunch of people on this thread do.

Ugh. Said I was going to bow out of this thread after making my point repeatedly and crossing swords with that vile idiot yonce. But it won't go away from my 'new replies'.
I wouldn't take that bet, even if I did bet, and I am almost certain it is a ponzi. I don't get why people think the regular payouts give it any kind of legitimacy. They don't. Ponzis carry on, paying out nicely, until they don't. Then it all falls apart overnight. What determines how long they keep going is 1) how many more people get signed up and 2) how fast they pay out the new money this brings. 120 more days is quite possible.
Does anyone have any idea about 1? It only takes one $50,000 'investor' to allow them to play for time for quite a while if most people are testing the water with $20 or $100.
And has anyone tried blockchain analysis to try to figure out where the money is coming from, if exchanges are even involved at any point?
Here's one last thing to think about. IF it's a ponzi, then you can expect the people running it to be dishonest in more than one way. That's not a stretch, right? Well, they have your email address, and your password. And lots of people reuse passwords. So if you're not 100% confident these guys are as pure as the driven snow, you might want to change that password.
EDIT: the payouts of finished contracts don't fundamentally alter things. Sure it's a bit more they've got to cover, especially if a whale is cashing out. If - it looks like plenty of people reinvest because oh, it's proven itself now. If they do cash out, it just means they have to sign up a few more people.

Wasn't some major regulatory decision due in the next few days, or did that already happen?

I've been meaning to ask about this. Presumably messages are delivered on the next block, so 1-2 minutes on average? When instant transactions come in, will messaging be instant? Great use case for NXT, anyway.

I hear by announce that the countdown time has reached ZERO! All hail.
No, still counting down. http://freenxt.org/james_announcement.phpBut seriously, why don't people just wait to announce stuff and do it when they are ready.
People like to know something is happening, but details are embargoed because there are other parties involved. Point taken, but when exciting things are afoot people appreciate some advance notice. This whole announcement foreplay is just ridiculous hyperbole.
Foreplay? This one is so good it's at least five- or maybe even sixplay.

I'm interested in the similarities/differences between Qora and NXT. Is there a list of features that Qora already has or plans to implement in the near future, and a comparison with NXT's implemented/upcoming features?
Ultimately it's as much about the overall direction of travel for each and where they might end up, as well as where Qora is breaking new ground.

Great that we're getting the exposure, but this PR was littered with mistakes. A couple of sentences didn't make sense at all. I know the standard of writing in crypto is pretty bad, but this is part of our brand and doesn't do NXT's 'smart people' positioning any favours. Can we make sure the writer at least gets a proofread next time? Yep....this press release was a Lee/TXT4Coins effort and, tbh, it needs a re-write. I'll chase Lee down and ask him to put his PR thru more proof-reading. I also made a mistake with the Coinomat press release......corrected the bit about purchasing NXT on your credit card. Still lots of good news, though. Anyone want to explain to me why Ripple is rising, or is it purely because they got a real aristocrat on board? Number 4 sucks....maybe we need to ask a random Baron to join NXT. If that was me, then hands up and sorry!

its in need of derailing. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) i was impressed by the article. one more weapon to add to the arsenal when fighting the PoW militia who have sworn PoS as they're most evil foe. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Money has no value without people neither bitcoin (NXT, NEM etc..) have. Yes really nice article. I have added it to the documentary thread in my sig. Thanks both ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Thanks everyone.
I will aim to post the last puzzle within the next 2-3 weeks.

Thanks for being gracious about it. It's extremely frustrating for me after spending so many hours working on the puzzle and checking it through; I imagine it must be at least as frustrating for those who came close to solving it and couldn't. I've sent a small consolation prize to Zyborg. Very embarrassing and I can only apologise. I've sent out a small consolation prize to a runner-up and will do so once more if you post your address.
Obviously now that people know about the consolation prize, anyone could claim they came close, so I won't be sending out any more. (Micaman, I've sent a very small sum as a consolation prize for missing the consolation prize.) Having thought about it a little more I think the best way to compensate remaining players would be to raise the prize sum for the final puzzle. And, of course, check the clues one last time... It also won't be another ELS. Thanks again to all for playing. Cassius

Isn't that launch pad line in a bit of a weird place?

$630, lowish volume. It's not super dumpy, really.

Is this a ****ing joke though? With the last puzzle?
An error in the text, that's why it didn't work?
S3CURITYRI5K2NE7WORKfLHdosswuheY
That's what I had, BEFORE the 2nd hint.I was skipping exactly 25 each step, and yet it didn't work due to the last letters. I was almost thinking it was an error on your behalf but shooed those thoughts off thinking you'd notice that mistake way in time before publicizing it, or at least during the course.
Someone probably got the Security risk to network right and brute forced the rest of it.
It's one thing to complain about a free entry contest, I know that, however it's really a kick in the nuts to find out that the mistake was on the host's behalf, and that someone managed to claim it by using a computer even though "no computers will be needed" was stated on the website.
Sigh.
Yup, afraid so. I checked and rechecked it and... made a mistake. Very embarrassing and I can only apologise. I've sent out a small consolation prize to a runner-up and will do so once more if you post your address. Aside from that I can only say sorry.
