At the time of his reporting, just six cases of "wild" polio, which is naturally occurring in the environment, had been reported worldwide.

Only 6! Down from half a million! Glad to see you finally agree that vaccines work!

Not from vaccines. Even polio runs its course after a while. When you read the article, you will see while there were only the 6 reported naturally, there were 21 reported from the vaccine - http://humansarefree.com/2018/10/un-admits-latest-outbreak-of-polio-in.html?utm_campaign=shareaholic&utm_medium=facebook&utm_source=socialnetwork

Cool

The article simply says that vaccines caused a few cases of paralysis as side effects and “from a public health perspective, the benefits far outweigh the risk.” Meaning that even though there might be cases of paralysis, if vaccines weren't introduced at all, there would be far more cases of paralysis and polio. I don't think you really understood the article.

The article isn't detailed in every direction. In addition, it would take millions of man-hours to document all the damage that the vaccine does. The fact that it produces any cases of the thing that it is attempting to destroy, shows that there are flaws in it that should cause it to be "taken off the market" and not used... immediately. We don't even know all of the other adverse effects it produces... like more ADHD and autism.

Cool

You linked the article supposedly because it proves vaccines are bad when in fact the article clearly says vaccines got rid of polio, now you are backpedaling.

''The fact that it produces any cases of the thing that it is attempting to destroy, shows that there are flaws'' No that only shows your ignorance. Do you even know how drugs work? Everything has side effects, paracetamol too. All drugs are harmful but the benefits outweighs the risks. I have dermatitis and I have to use creams to get rid of it, guess what the side effects are, more dermatitis. Guess something else, it fucking works, it gets rid of my dermatitis. You really need to research way waaaaaaaaay more dude.

There are 2 options:

1. Use a vaccine that has side effects that can be really bad but you get rid of 99.9% of the disease

2. Don't use vaccines and leave the disease to spread even more and kill millions

You think somehow 1 is worse because vaccines have side effects and are not miracles, perhaps your god shouldn't have allowed polio and other diseases to exist.

Get a grip.
1742  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Atheists Hate Religion? on: October 04, 2018, 02:20:12 PM

WHY DO ATHEISTS (like me) HATE RELIGION ?

The answer is simple: Atheists hate religion because religion is at the root of all inflicted injustices still ongoing, since the beginning of time. It is this very virus that has caused countless suffering and annihilation, spreading like a vicious cancer in its wake, infesting homo sapiens left and right into lethargic torpid zombies, feeding upon itself till exuberance of its toxicity has infiltrated and corrupted the very last pinnacles of homo sapientian civilizations.

But a thunderous shot across the bow has been heard in recent times. Religion has finally, after hellish millennia, been stunned, and nail after nail, with victorious force, have steadily been driven down into the coffin of this absolute ominous and abominous pest, with sustainable lasting results. Smiley

There is some [common] sense left in this cancerous environment, a antidote if you will. It is called Atheism. And nowadays Atheists have indeed grown into a formidable force of retribution, to eviscerate this cancerous plague called religion. Long live Atheism!

Are religious people different than non-religious people? Yes and no.

No. They all breathe air. They all drink water. They all eat food. They all think and learn.

Yes. Religious people work diligently at things. Non-religious people don't.

It's in the definition of the word religion. See #6 and other parts of religion in the dictionary:
something one believes in and follows devotedly; a point or matter of ethics or conscience: to make a religion of fighting prejudice.

If an atheist hates religion, he isn't really hating religion. Why not? Hate is a very strong word. Hate is a point or matter of ethics or conscience, just like the dictionary definition says. This means that an atheist doesn't hate religion. If he did, he would stop hating. As it is, he is doing the exact thing that he purportedly is hating... if he hates religion.

If a so-called atheist hates religion, what he really hates is some form of violence, something that happened to him in early life, the fact that some people have more wealth than he does, perhaps an illness that he has, his own messed-up life in general, or any of a multitude of things that go on in life. But the fact that he hates, shows that he has a religion, because hate is tied to something that one believes in and follows devotedly... a revulsion towards something.

To suggest that an atheist hates religion is to suggest that an atheist hates himself. While this may be true in some cases, it generally isn't. More explanation is necessary. The difference lies in organized religion.

For example. There might be many atheists who hate the Jewish religion. The Jewish religion has a place of worship. They have formal scrolls and books of doctrine. They often know each other and practice their religious activities together. But the atheist hate religion doesn't do these things very often... although they are getting together more and more to do something with their hate religion these days. Their meeting place might be a Denny's restaurant conference room. They get to know each other. The actually write up plans how they are going to demonstrate against the Jews, etc.

The atheist hate religion is becoming more formal all the time.

Cool

Get it right:

Religion = believing non sense when it's not scientifically proven to be true or even close to it.

I just learned the hard way how much Google hates Trump.  Huh

So I was watching flat earth YouTube videos as I always do and a flat earth parody video from YouTube's most prominent flat earther Jerenism popped up. According to Trump himself the universe is actually trumpcentric LOL!

Now here's the fun part, after watching this video YouTube turned on restricted mode and grayed out the button so I couldn't turn it off. The result of restricted mode is that it hides all comments and prevents the posting of comments. YouTube then throttled all video streams making them completely unwatchable.

I'm back watching videos and reading comments but I can only do this via a VPN and web browser, the app is fucked now. Possibly all  just coincidence but really, locking my app in restricted mode so comments are disabled seems like censorship.

All the media hates trump.

Well they still not paid for their bounty hunters. I think we'll have a big dump after that. They focus on advertising and marketing and pump the token price to attract more new investors. A strategy is quite creative and effective.

This dump could be stronger if all the investors could withdraw their money... We will see slow and confident decreasing of token price. Take popcorn  Wink

Imagine when they pay the bounty, 99% of those tokens are getting dumped instantly as well.

Update. It has already made x10 down Cry

Exchanges are pure scam too, bitmart asks you for KYC to withdraw anything.

This isn't work - this is about being a part of a community. People like you here for work are pissing me off now.

Also, even though this is helpful it wont stop them from coming here to spam about their ban because they know why they were banned, 90% of the cases I've seen the banned guy knew what he was banned for, he just didn't want to admit and thought he would get away with it.

After debating with him for hundreds of pages I can guarantee you he is not trolling. He is truly mentally ill, it's really funny when you check all his beliefs because they are so random. He believes heavily in God, the christian god but doesn't believe the earth is flat and makes fun of people who think so, he doesn't believe in evolution, he thinks vaccines are harmful and he thinks cops are worse than ISIS because cops are supposed to be good people.

You state several times that it is easy to disprove any religious text. I would imagine that would depend on the particular religion but I would challenge this broad claim. Some religions texts cannot be dismissed so easily when approached with an open mind. Jordan Peterson approaches this very question from a very logical perspective and I recommend his video on the topic if you are interested.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-wWBGo6a2w

Thanks CoinCube, I watched some of the video you posted.  He uses a lot of word salads.  As a psychologist, well versed in the English language, I am surprised he has chosen such a complicated way of expressing his ideas.
...

As far as his fascination with the Bible stories, well, I will agree with him/you that the people in those times were inspired and drew inspiration from those stories and myths.  Religion played a role to unite people, to give them comfort, I do understand that.

Your welcome af_newbie.

I think we have taken this conversation and its parallel partner in the other religious thread to its logical conclusion.

We have identified limited areas of agreement and isolated some core a priori philosophical differences where we likewise part ways.

These differences cause us to reach profoundly different conclusions about the nature of the universe and our role within it.

I always enjoy a determined attempt to deconstruct my arguments as there is no better way to test ones logic. Thank you for the conversation.

Let's be honest here, you are not looking for anyone to deconstruct your arguments. Nothing will change your mind because you already made a decision. You convinced yourself that god exists. You are clearly more intelligent than most christians/religious people. You were not convinced just with the bible, you needed more so this ''evidence'' that you found was good enough to trick your brain. Now you think you know god exists, you don't just believe it like the other believers, you have proof, it's not faith.

First Law of Thermodynamics:  you can't get something from nothing, if it would be possible then perpetual motion is possible.

Yeah I guess those idiot scientists forgot about the first law of thermodynamics when they came up with the big bang theory, are you dumb?

Perpetual motion is possible. The only reason God doesn't let us have it is that He is trying to show us that everything comes from Him, and that without Him, everything will fade away if it is not instantly destroyed.

Regarding evolution, evolution is a complete hoax.

Cool

The evolution story is mathematically impossible and falls apart with negative (15% of population) and positive blood (85% of mankind) and lots of other things. Similar to tree grafting the creator(s) introduced rhesus factor absents it a a later stage. Evolution must have had a downer kind of day and thought what the heck lets branch of and have Rh-

Perpetual motion i have not seen or have credible evidence of. Lots of claims and i can envision it like in pulsed electromagnets or lots of other stuff. One of the fundamental errors i see time and time again is the conversion to rotation. Losses in wheels are huge. Setting a wheel in motion and waiting for it to come to full stop is no problem. I would not hang around waiting for a pendulum to come to full stop.

If you want to prove that the universe is an incomplete system that has some axioms that are true but cannot be proven, you have to represent the universe as a system of such axioms, then the use of the theorem would be valid.

Yes and this requires that the universe be fundamentally logical.

In other words every phenomenon in the universe must be describable by some type of mathematical axiom. Such axioms may be totally beyond current human understanding or knowledge but their existence must be possible.

As I said the fact that the universe is ultimately logical is assumed in my argument. I think this is both a reasonable assumption and mostly self evident.

Our limited understanding of quantum mechanics is evidence only of our ignorance and in no way shows that the universe is illogical or indescribable by mathematical axiom.

Again you are a talking in philosophical terms. Godel's theorem cannot be applied to that, period. There is even a book for it because so many people tried to apply it incorrectly.
1754  Other / Off-topic / Re: Flat Earth on: October 03, 2018, 10:15:49 AM
In the past, people believed that the Earth was flat until someone proved that it was wrong. Now people believe that this earth is flat, despite all the evidence that it is completely wrong... Over the past 50 years, there have been numerous photographs of Earth from satellites, proving that the earth is shaped like a BRIDGE. Yet people still do not believe, even some people try to fly in the air with homemade rockets to prove the opposite. This is a daunting trend, the Internet users lack knowledge may be. Easily fooled, kids will probably have a misconception about the planet they are living in. If the Earth is a plane, the two stakes will have the same or nearly identical shadows, as they will all have a vertical angle. with the ground. Because the two balls of the two different piles, inferred two piles towards the sun in two different angles, we can conclude that the Earth is spherical. Or you can pick up the phone, call the person on the other side of the Earth to see if they are day or night. Unlike you, this Earth can't be flat. There are many ways to prove that the Earth can't be flat, but sadly until now we still have to prove that the Earth is spherical.

Satellites are a hoax, nothing but weather balloons and radio signals from the ground. The images NASA claims are from space are taken from a high altitude with a wide angle fisheye lens, a composite of high altitude images or just CGI and photorealistic paintings.

The Earth is flat and the light casting the shadows is divergent i.e. it spreads out as it travels like all light from a point source does and, the source of the light, the Sun in this case (the distance to the Sun can be measured with a sextant and it's about 3,000 miles) is close then, the shadows from two sticks will cast the same shadows as if the Sun's rays were all parallel and the Earth's surface were curved.

The Sun is close (3,000 miles) and small (32 miles wide), anybody with a sextant can measure and prove this.

The light from a close small Sun can't travel all the way across the Earth, perspective, convergence and various atmospheric effects limit the distance the light travels. This results in day & night as the Sun circles above.

The only sad thing here is the gullible fool who can't speak English and thinks the Earth is a spinning globe.

Imagine saying all the shit you said but with 0 evidence.

Alright guys, let's get this back on track. So far I've had a lot of blabbering, and no real rationale behind beliefs.

I want you to explain to me WHY you believe in God despite the evidence presented in OP.

Parodium the link below is the logic that led me to believe in God despite the arguments outlined in your opening post.

It's a bit long so I will link to it rather then quote the entirety of it here. The words and logic are mine.

In it I demonstrate to my satisfaction that it is far more logical to believe in God then to deny his God's existence.

An Argument for God

And again there are huge problems with that.

Claim 1: Incorrectly applying godels theorem.

Claim 2: Is not a scientific theory and is not ''the best known system that allows us to prove the truths we can and infer the truths we cannot'' There is very little on the internet about that ''theory'', your link also says ''even more simply still, a belief is true when it fits in with the set of all our other beliefs without creating a contradiction.'' which is simply wrong. It's also extremely vague and doesn't explain anything.

1757  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do you believe God exists? on: October 02, 2018, 07:31:00 PM

I was going with

If there is free will in heaven, then there is evil in heaven, so it is not heaven.

If there is no free will in heaven, then it is a prison, so it is not heaven.

i.e. there is no heaven.

All using religitards' logic.

In Heaven, evil won't exist. So there is no free will to do evil. But not because there wouldn't be if it existed.

Cool

So you will not be able to lift your finger, never mind to do anything else, like taking a piss whenever you want, LOL.

Nice heaven concept you got there.  At least Muslims talk about streets full of gold, wine and virgins.  And you guys hope to go to a place where you won't be able to do anything on your own free will.

Before you reply with your: "But in heaven, with free will, we will be able to only do good, not evil", it is not free will if you cannot do both good and/or evil.  That is why you guys call it FREE will.

Checkmate.  There is no heaven using your own Christian logic.

If lifting your finger is evil in Heaven, you won't have the free will to lift your finger.

When there isn't any such thing as evil, there won't be any free will to do such.

Since you like evil so much, you will go to the place where all the evil will exist... the place you have asked for... Hell. You won't have any free will to choose good, there. Because there won't be any good there. Your choice. Choose well while you still have time.

Cool

If that's the case then there would be no need to live here and not directly in heaven. I asked you numerous times what's the point of earth, why not go directly to heaven and your response was always, god didn't want to force us and gave us free will yet you are saying in heaven we wont have free will. A 10 year old would understand the flawed logic here lmao.

I feel like this forum has so much potential and theymos is really not taking advantage of it. I understand he is extremely busy but can he not give someone else permissions to assign mods/admins and other stuff?

He's acknowledged the need to do so and it's obviously something that needs to be done sooner rather than later. He did put my suggestions of more sub mods/admins in the 'OK in principle, would require thought/adjustment/implementation' category in the community suggestions thread but for some reason he just isn't committing to it. I don't know whether it's just down to trust or what, but it's not like there isn't anyone trustworthy on the planet to do some of this stuff. In his own words he doesn't have time for even the basic of things here and barely even posts here so this work should be delegated out to those that can do it. We could have one or two people restoring accounts, one running the ad slots, one or two replying to emails and then that leaves theymos to crack on with the most important stuff behind the scenes. At the moment nothing is getting done at all and people are having to wait a year+ to get their account back which isn't acceptable. The forum could run so much more efficiently and he doesn't even need to do anything other than initially sort that out by giving the ability to trusted people to do this stuff. All he has to do is then oversee things but you can do that from the backseat. Not doing anything at all just makes things worse and we're practically going backwards at the minute as more and more issues just keep getting pilled up.

He must know people in real life that can be trusted and can do the job correctly. Considering he is basically famous around these communities, there is no way he doesn't know someone that can be trusted.

That board probably doesn't need three mods

Nope, but it's a great example of what can happen when a board does have enough moderator time dedicated to it. Low value/meaningless/duplicate threads deleted before they develop, threads locked once the conversation is over, not a spam comment in sight. And how to spread this behavior to the other boards isn't some great mystery - we just need some dedicated sub board mods. We shouldn't be at the stage where I can tell if you've been busy for a couple of days because my number of unhandled reports keeps climbing.

I don't disagree. I would rather each board have three mods as opposed to either one or zero (especially if you discount Globals). Mining isn't even that active and is certainly one of the less-spammed boards, but Bitcoin Discussion on the other hand is spam central and doesn't even have even one dedicated mod. I managed to get a list of the top reporters in there from theymos a few months ago but nothing since despite a handful of PMs about the matter. Not going to keep annoying him with it so the ball is in his court now. Things like this should be done ASAP though and only require a short amount of his time and then no further action would be required from him and the forum benefits in the process.

I feel like this forum has so much potential and theymos is really not taking advantage of it. I understand he is extremely busy but can he not give someone else permissions to assign mods/admins and other stuff?
