1781  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [OFFICIAL]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: September 12, 2015, 06:59:23 PM
I cannot access my account at all.  This has been a problem for a couple of weeks now where my 2FA would work half the time, then the other half it would tell me that my 2FA token was wrong.  This has been going on for a few weeks, but I could always get in if I kept trying.  Now yesterday and today, I have been trying for a couple of hours now and it isn't working.  No problems using my 2FA on any other site, just Bitfinex.

Anyone have any ideas while I wait for support to contact me back?
In case you're using an Android device... Try to set the system clock manually, check/uncheck the option to receive time information from your provider. Works for me most of the time.

For some reason the button to set time using network settings came unchecked.  Checked it and was able to log right in.  Not sure why every other site works fine though?

1786  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcointalk Account price estimator on: September 11, 2015, 03:31:24 PM
WOOT, looks like the 3 years of time put into my account has made it valued at .94279500 btc.

I guess whoever offers that gets it Smiley

Lol, nice estimator, kind of fun.  I would say you need to adjust the algorithm a little bit though.  I had always considered that I could reasonably get 5 to 6 btc for this account, possibly more.

Still a unique spin on things, nicely done.
1787  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: September 10, 2015, 11:10:05 PM
Just logged into Hashnest, and it's asking me to set up 2FA ? It's giving me some code I need to verify with Google, but can't seem to find a way of generating the verification code :|
Any ideas ?
In the Google Auth you need to "Set up Account", scan the qrcode and you will have the code generated.
Place that code in the given time in hashnest site textbox.
Hope it helps

Perfect ! Thanks. Wasn't clear to me I needed to download an app for my device. Got it all figured out now Smiley

It can be an inconvenience, but just adds one more layer of security.  Never a bad idea to have 2FA enabled.

Was it extremely fine print that you would have to read through a very long ToS to find?
1789  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: September 10, 2015, 09:08:11 PM
guys i didnt received payment for more than 5 blocks ?? .

what is happening Huh any clue.

thanks

Sometimes it gets held up a little.  Things happen.  It has always corrected itself in time, you will get credit for the blocks that were solved where you held hash eventually.
1790  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] MarginBot - A Bitfinex Margin Lending Management Bot on: September 10, 2015, 05:54:00 PM
Thanks for vouching for his copy, I hadn't tried it yet because I was nervous.  I just don't like risking these things.  I had tried to use the free webhosting from 000webhost like he had mentioned earlier, but it seems like it didn't have the correct version of PHP or something?  IDK what was going on.

Can you recommend a host to run this on?  Are you planning to add some of the features that deponzit made into your original bot?
1791  Economy / Lending / Re: .01 Loan. Two days repay. on: September 10, 2015, 05:30:54 PM
Do you have another collateral here Huh

If you need 0.01 you're selling your account not asking for loan...  Roll Eyes

Yea, definitely a new account asking for a loan without collateral.  No one lend to this guy, just a scammer.

Did he make it? Guy needs to update these things, starting to worry. Undecided

RIP DebitMe  Undecided

HAHA, made it!  I am a married man.  Little disappointed that my message didn't make it into the blockchain though, still shows as auction pending.  IDK what happens to my .001 btc since they never delivered on their side.  Oh well.

Wedding went great, thanks for all the well wishes!  We were really pleased with how everything turned out.  I will have to pull up on of the photographers photos to post on here in the next day or two.

hi all

It seems S7 shop is now open. Sales just started

It looks like you can buy them, but they won't start hashing for up to a month. Better not to try and risk getting your coins held up for a while.

I read that recently some people say if you buy now you have priority to sell them in market. If that's true people would like to buy them for speculation. You know when something hit the market first its price will be ridiculously high.

Where did you read that?  I have been watching this forum and their forum and have not seen anything to the affect that if you buy now you will have first priority on the market to sell.  If it was some random user who said that I would just ignore him.  About 90% of the posts on Bitmains forums are from stupid people who didn't/don't understand the concept of how these assets work, and are just complaining to complain because they lost their $100.

People are crazy. S7 will be sooo expensive. S5 is still the place to be for the next month at least.
Cheap GH for me!  Grin

At current price 8 BTC/S7=1.66BTC/THs is the ROI at about 250 days which is not bad considering the fact S7 can survive next year's halving while S5 at current BTC price/diff combination surely not. So I can understand the frenzy of selling off S5.
That is true, but it is still a month away and ROI on S5 at these prices is the best it's been in months. Something like 222 days, I'm scooping some up at least for a short period!

Or perhaps some of those selling now are selling on purpose to dump the price down so they can buy back in and get more hash than they started with. I can not think of any other reason really because if S7 hashpower is not available for a month or so, why sell it otherwise..Could understand if people started selling the same day S7 hashpower was available.

People are unreasonable.  And once the price starts heading down down down, more people jump on the sell bandwagon because they don't want to see their investment lose money, so they sell.  Give it a couple of days and they price will recover to where it was before.
1796  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is escrowing for yourself using a secret alt OK? on: September 09, 2015, 01:34:24 AM
The idea of escrow is that it is a 3rd party.  It is completely meaningless to call it escrow when a trusted 3rd party is not present, and it is deceitful and wrong to hide that you are the person providing escrow for yourself if you are.
1797  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: September 08, 2015, 08:25:02 PM
its gonna turn into a day trading site ,ghs  will be seen as a commodity since it generates it. i dont mind a fee just as long as they put some of that towards customer service.

Yea exactly, I love not having a fee, but don't mind paying one if they use it to hire English speaking customer support reps.  Just not enough around that are free to answer the same questions posed by the same people over and over again.
1798  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Anyone know where or who I can buy 12 btc instantly? on: September 08, 2015, 03:11:50 PM
I tried lbc, no one has this amount available. Any ideas?

I can do this for you at Coinbase +6% through Western Union.  I can pick up the money later today.  If your interested let me know.  (we may have to break it up into 2 separate transactions though, due to limits on how much can be withdrawn at WU locations).
1799  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: September 08, 2015, 03:36:00 AM
If you look at the dip in blocks found that happened a few days ago  I am sure they are in the process of converting even the S5 mining power into their new S7 mining power at S5 maintenance fee rates.

Perhaps, I would have to imagine that most of the first batch or 2 of S7's will be going to private sales and public sales of the equipment.  Best to offload as much as possible while the price is as high as possible and while you still have the best gear available to buy.  Then worry about replacing gear that is still making them good money.
1800  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: September 07, 2015, 02:42:55 PM
Should S2 be profitable again?
Or did the difficulty increase basically increase with the BTC value at the same rate;we're at $241 right now and still 108% maint fee
Glad the value is going back up at least.

I don't think so. It's obsolete technology, they will shut them down in near future. Bitcoin have to pass 300$ quickly or they will be trash/junk/collectors item.

They are already shut down.  You cannot buy S2 or UMISOO on the market and they are currently in their redemption period.  They will not be coming back onto Hashnest.

Well S2 and Umisoo are obsolete miners, shutting them down was just a question of time.
However, I don't see Hashnest total hash go down due to this shut down. How come?
im guessing they turn them off when they enter pps  mode and just used the room for more efficient miners, and just payed the pps  shares out of there  own act .  s3 s4  will prob follow the same process.

I had figured they shut them down a long while ago when they could replace them with the S5's when they came out.  Why run S2's when you can run more efficient machines using smaller spaces?  They probably just stored them all in a corner of the facility and let the newer machines mine for the older hash assets.
