Just logged into Hashnest, and it's asking me to set up 2FA ? It's giving me some code I need to verify with Google, but can't seem to find a way of generating the verification code :|
Any ideas ?
In the Google Auth you need to "Set up Account", scan the qrcode and you will have the code generated.
Place that code in the given time in hashnest site textbox.
Hope it helps

Perfect ! Thanks. Wasn't clear to me I needed to download an app for my device. Got it all figured out now Smiley

It can be an inconvenience, but just adds one more layer of security.  Never a bad idea to have 2FA enabled.

I just deposited BTC into Hashnest but coins are not showing up in my wallet after 20+ confirmations.  I see in the Bitmain forum that many others are having the same problem.  Hopefully this is just a glitch, but for the time being I would suggest not sending anything to Bitmain until this is resolved.

I hope it is. I have a fair amount of gh invested and would like to be paid for it. Usually bitmain is pretty good with it so I am sure it will be resolved within 24 hours or so. Keep in mind the timezone difference as well

guys i didnt received payment for more than 5 blocks ?? .

what is happening Huh any clue.

thanks

Sometimes it gets held up a little.  Things happen.  It has always corrected itself in time, you will get credit for the blocks that were solved where you held hash eventually.
YUP got it ..but was tempting.

I sent in 3 different transactions totaling 21 coin, set my transaction fee to .0005 and showed up in wallet within 20 min. No issues. If your sending transactions with min fees, it will be a while since there is over 100K transactions in the mem pool.

Do you even know what  means 20+ confirmations ?

This problem was in Hashnest, not transaction fees.

Today is yesterday's problem back.

No payment after block 374002
No payment for 4  blocks.

Yesterday there were 19 blocks with no payment which was paid until today.

Sorry, missed the 20+ confirms part. In that case, trans fee don't matter....

With that said, I have not seen this issue. I have sent in over 25 deposits within last 30 days and all of them credited after 2-4 confirmations. I am buying PACMIC v3, don't think that makes a difference since its same wallet.

Can someone explain to me the valuation of the miners that are near EOL?

Take the S4 for example, the last couple of days they have been trading in the 0.00046 BTC range.  With 100% luck, that should earn about 0.00000883 BTC per day.  With fees at 79.55%, the miner should earn 0.000001805735 BTC per day with 100% luck after fees are taken out.  So, with 0 difficulty increases it would take 254 days (0.00046 / 0.000001805735) for the earnings to repay the cost of the miner purchase.

Several things:

1)  254 days with 0 increase in the difficulty is not possible.

2)  Any increase in the difficulty makes that 254 days grow.  Once the difficulty goes up 10%, it would be taking over 500 days to be repaid.

3)  Once the difficulty goes up 20% (or BTC goes down 20%) the miner will stop mining and be worthless.  A 20% increase in the difficulty isn't much at all.

Seeing as how these miners will be EOL in about 3 ~ 4 months and near the end they will be earning essentially nothing (due to the earnings being very close to the fees), doesn't something like 30 ~ 60 days of current earnings sounds like a much more realistic valuation?  Picking 45 days (as it is in the middle of that range), we get 45 * 0.000001805735 BTC per day = a valuation of 0.000081258075 BTC per 1 GH/s.  This is about 5 1/2 times less that the current price of 0.00046 BTC.

How is the current price 5 1/2 times more than any reasonable valuation?

I can see how some people might gamble on the S7 with weird valuations.  However, miners that are EOL, there can't be much speculation as they have a very limited life left.  How does anyone figure 254 days for a EOL miner makes any sense?  254 days is about what the S7 looks to take right now after fees (the S7 is 0.04291128 BTC earnings per day, after fees it earns 0.030733058736 BTC per day, 8.335432 / 0.030733058736 = 271 days).  254 days for a miner that will be worthless in a couple of months is insanity, how are these prices justifiable?  On a GH/s per GH/s basis, how can anyone value a S4 similar to the S7?

Don't even get me started on how about a week ago the S4 was trading at ~ 0.006 BTC.  I guess people are starting to come to their senses in the last week, but I see the price needs to come down to about only 18% of where it currently is in order for it to make any sense.

To me if the S7 breaks even in 271 days, then the S4 should be priced at about 30 ~ 60 days.  The current 254 day pricing just doesn't make any sense and is not rational.  Can someone explain this insanity to me?

People are saying the prices for the S4 are low, I think they are 5 times higher than anything I can see as *only* breaking even (let alone making any money off of).

If only I could short those EOL miners, that is where real money could be made!!!

dance ,  the insanity is base on hope. at the casino most lose but the hope of wining will keep them coming back. its similar with btc mining, majority of miners lose money, many are not true investors they do very little research and calculations. they just want a chance to win without the hard labor. also there are traders, as a trading u will not only factor in the math ,u will have to factor in the feelings of the market, if the market is bull , ur gonna buy reguardless of its a good deal or not  cause ur leaning towards an sinerio  where u can flip it for profit.  if u buy n hold , yes i agree this is not a good price, as there is no indication that btc price will jump and there is an clear indication that diff will ramp up, this is a recipe for holding diaster.

Which is then why you have the complainers on this forum and Bitmain's forum whining to Bitmain to change the rules once everything goes busto.

Dance, it sounds like you have a pretty good understanding of the market and when would be a good time to buy.  Listen to the math and don't invest if you don't believe you will profit.  Way to go doing all the math and everything before posting here asking if its a good investment, your already a good way there.

Hi Dance

There is a point that you aren't take into consideration, you could sell your hash at any moment, so even with GHS prices falling if they take more than 254 days to reach 0 you will have that sell as an earning.

Depending of difficulty increase, BTC prices and so on you could made profit.

Agree with you that is too risky with S4 at current prices but isn't impossible

Actually I've had put some buy orders that trigger with half prices and already traded some S3 hash with very good profit

^This^
Not everyone has a buy and hold mentality, they play it on a day to day basis based on daily yield, and then trading back on the market.

I agree it may not be the best investment in the long run, but there are ways to speculate, and still make profit.  Although with BTC prices staying around this $230 level, and the difficulty rising faster those windows are closing on the S3 and S4 in Hashnest.

What are you trying to do?  If you want to buy hash you need to send funds to your wallet.
