Android gets my vote, but if your primary use is gaming I think iOS is still ahead of Android in that department.

Thank you so much for the time you've invested to make the S4 more funtional, ckolivas. I'm going to send you a donation tomorrow morning.

I'd like to try ck's new version tomorrow, but I have no idea how to go about updating cgminer. Can anyone shed some light, or point me towards a guide?

Seems to be about the same efficiency as A2 Terminators. Can you post pics of the Web interface?

625 hash on XMR. Using 67% tdp only

Is that with a 970 or 980?

What is power consumption like using gpus? High like scrypt, low like x11, or somewhere in between?

What kind of numbers is the 980 pulling with XMR?

I know this doesn't necessarily mean anything, but APLUSPOWER not having every certified any PSUs for 80+ certification kind of bugs me. Do they operate under any other names?

If anyone has a spare $200 S4 coupon, please PM me.
1789  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Discussion and Support Thread on: October 15, 2014, 12:28:14 PM
Outstanding. Good job, Bitmain. How a company reacts to a problem says everything. You will be rewarded by your customers for taking care of them.

Anyone have $200 coupons for a reasonable price? PM me if so.

Is bitmain planning on replacing batch 1 PSUs that haven't yet had a problem? Not looking forward to mine eventually dying.

Information on the PSUs to come soon, just being finalised now.

Great, thanks for the update.

1792  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S4 Firmware Upgrade on: October 11, 2014, 02:38:35 PM

As of 10/10/2014 - this is the firmware listed on the bitmain support site:

initramfs.bin.SD-20141003.tar.gz

Do I unpack it or just point the S4 at the tar.gz and it uploads and decompresses it
and deals with the whole thing?

Thx.

Unless bitmain has gotten around to uploading the working firmware, you'll need to use this:

The latest firmware on the site is the fixed one, I just tried it and it flashed fine.

Good to know, removed the file from my dropbox.

Anyone can generate an MD5 too......I can't find anything from Bitmain saying they have verified this as genuine.......maybe you can post the complete email?

You mustn't have looked too far because all the information is in this very thread a few pages back.

You'd think so, wouldn't you. Of course, you should always be cautious.

Read the last few pages, the MD5 is posted to verify the image. If I hadn't posted this firmware for others, you'd still be waiting on bitmain to reupload the proper image to it's website. Have fun trying to flash the image on their website if you still don't trust me.

Guys, here is the new fixed firmware. Bitmain emailed it to me as their engineer isn't avilable to upload it to their website yet.

My defective cube continues to degrade. 2 more DC/DC down as of an hour ago, for a total of 4 defective DC/DC on the same cube. Just sent a request to RMA the cube.
1797  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 09, 2014, 10:06:50 PM

ltc.ghash.io:3333 I'll give multi a try later.

stratum+tcp://multi.ghash.io:3333 looks good to me.

What's your difficulty? Someone recommended 8192 for the Titan with 4 cubes.

I set mine to 2048, based on the fact that liteguardian has a max difficulty of 1500 and the Titan works perfectly there too.

Sounds good. I'm currently mining only with 3 cubes, 1 doesn't get recognized by the web interface at all. I've set the value 1024 after clicking at "workers" in the column "click to edit" right?

I only had 3 cubes recognized when I first set it up also. Turns out I hadn't plugged the data cable properly cube side, only 5 of the 10 pins were inserted. Might be worth a look?

Not realizing they wanted a screenshot of BFGMiner, ...

How can I show up the BFGMiner stats?

The one I was overclocking was soldered directly to the Titan cube using TWO high quality 6x PCI-E connections (NOT the cheap square pins with the split down the middle).

2 PCI-E 6 pin connections for 1 cube?

Yep.  My first try ended with melting connectors.   Luckily I was home and smelled it burning before who knows what...

How did you do that? With a Y cable?

Best pool to use for me is ghash. Flawless so far, and they support merged mining. 300+ MH/s speeds even with 1 dead die.

At multi.ghash.io:3333 or ltc.ghash.io:3333?
