182  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do not limits your investment... on: July 16, 2023, 08:35:17 PM
I saw something on a friend of mine iPhone I was amazed, this guy has 3 pieces of bitcoin but he didn't look it when you look at him with mere eyes, I ask him how he has come this far, he told long ego he was seriously investing on all kinds of coins with little amount of bitcoin but then most of those coins help him to realized enough amount to buy more bitcoin because that was his primary target. He normally buys those zero value coins when they appreciates it will be enough money, and that's how he convert and swag all to bitcoin and today, he has 3 piece. Is good to be diversified in your investment, somedays something good will come out of one you don't expect.

Is quite a nice move buddy but in the current situation, then is not now or yesterday, i believe that took place for him around 2017 when bitcoin started gaining masive value with other shit coin which are numerous to mention and when you look at the background aspect many are born with gold spoon in the mouth i guess you understandwhat i meant by that. And so to say not because u have seen him with 3 pieces of BTC and you rush to put your money in it or lets say wanna get enough shit coin and HOPE... well if you have the funds go ahead but DYOR.
183  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it possible to hack a blockchain? on: July 16, 2023, 08:45:32 AM

184  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I avoid and identify scams? on: July 16, 2023, 06:11:30 AM
Trust is the main problem in cryptocurrency, that is why any altcoin cannot be trusted as it may result to scam due its centralized nature.

To avoid scam in cryptocurrency, invest in Bitcoin only because it is one of the coin that is decentralized and trusted.

Well in my own opinion many want something that is going to do 100x if am not mistaken, lets say 100x in just few weeks thats just some hype mentality they put in newbies brain. and boom they fall into the trap... even bitcoin as a whole is unpredictable.
185  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you ever been scammed ? on: July 15, 2023, 04:59:13 PM
Of course, there are many forms of scams, and scammed people have different profiles. At first I thought people who were scammed were too naive or too greedy, but in reality scams are diverse. Perhaps we could list the different forms of scam and, if need be, tell our own story to help others protect themselves. Don't forget to report scammers in the dedicated topic (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0). Don't hesitate to tell me or correct me if I've made a mistake in my list.

1. There are the naive scammed, who haven't read enough about how to protect themselves and will simply give their private keys to a stranger who claims to help them.

2. There are the CEX scammed. MtGox, FTX etc ..., they can be beginners or experts.

3. Greedy scammed. Those who were promised crazy returns without doing anything.

4. Romantic scammed. A "nice" meeting on the Internet, some nice promises, and the romantic scammed are relieved of their funds.

5. The tired scammed, drunk, drugged or simply distracted by the kids doing bullshit next to him/her. A bit out of his depth, he won't realize that he's on a phising site for example.

6. The betrayed scammed. Whether a beginner or an expert, the betrayed scammed has trusted someone (friend, colleague, lover...) and lost his or her funds.

7. The shitcoin scammed. He/she bought lots of shitcoins on an obscure Pump and Dump group.

8. the sim-swap scammed (https://www.businessinsider.com/credit-card-phone-theft-sim-swap-identity-theft-investigation-2023-4?r=US&IR=T). Beginner or expert, the victim is deprived of all access from one minute to the next. The ease of the hack seems to depend on the country.

9. The clipboard virus scammed. In that case LoyceV explained that (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5190776.0) :

Quote
How it works
1. You select a Bitcoin address, and press CTRL-C.
2. The malware changes the address to an address owned by the hacker/scammer.
3. You press CTRL-V and lose any funds you send.
Even if you check part of the pasted Bitcoin address, chances are the first few characters are the same, and you still won't notice the address was changed.

Am I forgetting any?

Has this happened to you or someone you know ?

I haven't been scammed on cryptocurrency before, but where my first encounter occurred was when BITCONNECT came to play and I can't say if I was the last target Grin Grin before they were tagged Red flag I believe they were hunted by the Government this was a huge loss for me as a Newbies then. I got in because a friend recommended never knew I will face the painful part.  Cry Cry
186  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to the Forums, hello everyone! on: July 15, 2023, 04:52:29 PM

187  Other / Meta / Re: I got my post deleted immediately, how is that possible? on: July 14, 2023, 11:03:30 AM
I don’t know if there is a thread for this already, I can’t seem to find it

So as the forum continues to have issues all day I notice that the sluggishness and the lack of patience by some members have actually made one to post a particular reply twice. While I also experienced this I tried to delete the second reply which immediately it got deleted. I know of edit button not showing edited if it is done within five minutes from the post but does the delete button also works that’s way?

If it does is it only on specific board?

Also does it also delete double threads too?

Lastly is it just the forum issue affecting it, just like the telegram notifier bot that is not working currently?

We have some grammatical errors i picked them out for you using the RED mark please fix it so we can understand you better, basically am confused here on what you are trying to say. Why you try to fix it, even as the forum have an edit botton still try to read what you want to post before posting.

cheers.... Cool Cool
188  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why Crypto may go wrong for some people on: July 13, 2023, 10:42:46 PM
A friend of mine recently complain to me about how he loses thousands of dollars to crypto after invest in a token. He now said he is quiting crypto and now comparing crypto investing to that of gambling.

Most people hear about crypto and wish to invest in it without the knowledge of how crypto works. It is a good practice for one to learn the do and don't of whatsoever you want to put your money in. Why dealing with crypto as if you are gambling? You need to learn to earn with crypto. You gamble with crypto when you invest without adequate research and knowledge of what token/coin you are investing on.

CONCLUSION
Crypto isn't for lazy people. It involves research and continuous learning. It may look bored if money isn't made in the first few months but will definitely make you smile after months of endurance.

am picking out this WORD i marked with red yeah ENDURANCE, this reminds me when i started back 2017, seeing how people make money through bitcointalk, i started asking questions and also getting good answers to those questions, and the most amazing side was how money is been made from AIRDROPS AND BOUNTY, gradually i keep learning and enduring, today crypto has change my life for good...
189  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is risky, be conscious on: July 13, 2023, 10:35:29 PM
Over the time, I've seen people wanting to go into trading because they feel or think is a get rich quick scheme but get so disappointed along the process because the result they get isn't what was expected.
Trading is a very lucrative business but also a very risky business as well and as such should be done with so much caution.
What would be your advice for those wanting to trade as a newbie?

trading is not just risky trading is hard, i see a lot of trading courses out there and probably some influencers ripping off some newbies with huge amount of money for mentorship or some trading course, after than you just jump to the chart, place a trade and boom it goes against you big time and you start to question your strategy then you will understand the psychology that trading is not that simple.
190  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Image uploading websites/ scripts for Bitcointalk users on: July 13, 2023, 03:51:48 AM

But as of recent when i wanted to upload an image to BITCOINTALK.ORG i had to google it out so i came across a post on this forum that recommended one which is among your list here which is this one https://imgbb.com the process is cool and simple.
191  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Drainage is not a dump yard on: July 13, 2023, 03:46:01 AM
In Nigeria almost all the drainage has a blockage just from the fact that citizens has turned the drainage to dump yard and they suffer from it especially during this period of rain. The government are not trying the little that is done should be appreciated and cared for because when it gets bad again we still gonna suffer it.

It's raining season and we can see the effects of this, when they are poured into drainage. How many times have you gone out during this raining season and have not seen a block drainage leading to road or other places filled with water. We mostly don't care till it affects us that like the biggest issue in Nigeria. Let's try to limit the use of rubber and plastic and even if we do use it, let's us try to dispose them properly. This causes soil and water pollution (since plastic is a non-biodegradable waste).
Pet coke use the tag RECYCLE Me but most times it's still end in drainage
Pray God help us to the right thing always

Me wey come be critical hygienic guy like this i no like dirty for where i dey, my surroundings like this i hardly all anything wey be trash show face, like this hygienic life na from small i get am, like this ehh naija alone na OUR ancestors go come help us becausethe matter choke, guy ehh the gutters no be weytin person fit write home about if na weytin we wan talk. them forget say na we ourselves dey cause this problems to ourselves, not even the rain you wan talk what about malaria.
192  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is buying merit parmited on: July 12, 2023, 09:50:16 PM
Honestly am new here and with my little time that i have spent in this forum i have observed, and i wanna ask the forum mate if that is posible because i saw it happening amonge the forum mate and the person that invade this platform for me,people in this forum who are connected in one way or the other are trading on their sendable merit not only the their sndable merit but orher way of trading on merit is going on in this forum,so my question is,is it good and permitted to do such on the forum,

you earn merits through good and quality post, merits dont just come you have to work to earn it, in what you are trying to say here i don't get to understand, but take your time to correct those words i marked out in RED so what you are saying can be understood by most newbies unlike the advanced users on the forum.
193  Economy / Exchanges / Re: You are probably paying more to get your Bitcoin on: July 12, 2023, 08:53:08 AM
Good one OP but in the beginning of crypto or will i say introduction of STABLE COINS, i just kept using USDT for all my transactions i hardly make use of bitcoin for transactions or other assets that aint stable coins. because the fear of what if this coin dumps immediately i just purchased it or want to store it for later use, like this imagination comes to my head always and it scares me deep.

195  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: All in one charting software? on: July 12, 2023, 08:35:50 AM
I mostly work on trading view but TV(tradingview) is not free and there are lot of ads poping up all the time, also, TV have many different type of indicators free and paid,
what charting software or website you use and why? what is best thing in that ,and what feature made you sticked to that platform,
I never used another software but they seem professional, like mt4, mt5, etc. what are other better then trading view?

i make use of TV and i dont use multiple indicators to know what market has to do, its all about forex now so as i was saying, the only indicator i came across is the TDI which is advanced to RSI and when it comes to having many overlay indicators on my chart i make use of the PINE EDITOR on TV since i know how to compile different indicators in one.
196  Other / Meta / Re: Is it allowed to post in English in a Local Section on: July 10, 2023, 10:22:54 PM
Recently I came across a query where I suggested that We cannot post in the "All English" language in a local board or it is not recommended at least.

Yes, i know that if the posts are a mixture of English & local language, then it is fine. Even if some posts are being done in pure English, they are ok but if a person has a post history where he only insists to speak in English on a local board, what do the rules of bitcointalk say in this regard?

In local board like NIGERIA (NAIJA) we communicate in English but the best there is pigin because it pass that vibe and a lot of fun when we read through each members reply and who relate to the OP topic post. but in the sense that the local is meant for that language of the local and u just should up from no where and start replying in english other than the local language, u wont be giving much attention because e go come be  like say na your own good pass.

this is in naija local language

197  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is ahead is very dangerous on: July 10, 2023, 10:11:28 PM
There is a new scamming strategy on the horizon, newbies be on the watch out

Optimism airdrop is still active and that's why some scammers have come up with a NFT/Coupon Ticket style way to trap unknown victims, especially their ones that have interacted with the optimism chain before.

The image of the NFT has all the information available, I can swap this NFT for 1000 OP token, I believe this will be confusing for newbies who aren't familiar with scammers way of doing things.

Optimism.market is the place or the right place to sell this NFT for 1000 OP tokens and I do visited the market place and I got a very bad warming from my browser to stay away, here is what the warning looks like.

I bet what's ahead is very dangerous, you will have to connect your wallet and that is where all your assets will be moved out automatically, Be cautious out here.

Honestly i prefer to work for signature campaigns or articles campaigns than get my self involved in airdrops, this thing is unpredictable, and we end up revealing our personal informations for no just cause. thanks for setting this out there to help everyone not just the NEWBIES ....
198  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: TOPIC MOVEMENT WETYIN DEY SUP..? on: July 10, 2023, 10:04:35 PM
Why is this happening here on Nigeria local board only? Please make sure you check if your topic has been posted already before you click on 'post' again.

Me self no understand weytin really happen yesterday for forum here but i just think that the issue solve, i think this too has messed up people's activities on SIGN campaigns and so on like those who are to make submission in there campaign thread. the method i used yesterday so i dont double post was kind of cool though but stressful.
199  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HOW TO AVOID DOUBLE POSTING (CLOUDFARE ISSUE) on: July 09, 2023, 08:15:09 PM
The network error today has been challenging in making replies and particularly new post. I'll add by saying if anyone has made a duplicated post due to the error experienced without knowing that the first post has already been posted despite the error messages but still continued refreshing not knowing it's making a duplicate.
Some people noticed the glitch and were able to control the way they posted. Just as the OP suggested, if you see such an error, you are supposed to check your profile and see if it was posted before you post it again to avoid duplicate posts.

Quote
Do well to report to the moderator to delete the very duplicates. So such posts could be deleted.
You can also delete the duplicate reply yourself using the delete option. I tried it, and it works, which makes me think that you don’t have to wait for 24 hours before you can delete your post.

delete option is not working for me when you create topic of your own, but the solution i discovered on my own at the moment without having to go through all this process the OP mentioned out there is when you are done writing click the POST and its loading up and the page refused to load to show that the post is replied, just go down to your profile and look at the SHOW LAST POST OF THIS PERSON there you will see that the post is already posted even the POST COUNT will tell.

NOTE: dont double click the POST BOTTON if not you will end up SPAMMING post in one trade
200  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HOW TO AVOID DOUBLE POSTING (CLOUDFARE ISSUE) on: July 09, 2023, 07:57:35 PM
Is anyone else having the same issue for the last hour or so? All the other pages are opening very fast but for some reason bitcointalk is extremely slow to the point of being barely usable.

Today there is some issue when opening Bitcointalk account or posting new reply. I saw many users posted same reply multiple times. if you are facing same cloud issue then don't worry and posting new reply don't need to post multiple times. you should check first before making post second time. if first one already posted then no need to post another.

Solution:
When you post new reply or thread then first of all write post and then copy all post. when you click on post you will see this kind of message:

I've had the last few hours, well to go to other pages it's still perfectly normal but when I start posting I always run into issues here.

When this message appears , samply go back to posting page and refresh your page. you will see that your post already posted despite of this error. it's mean there no need to post again. If anything wrong happen and your reply not posted then samply reply again by just pasting you copied in above step.

I just encountered this issue at LOCAL BOARD @Nigeria (NAIJA) when i found out some post were been locked and moved i also want to create a topic to why the topics are moved and apearing in two's, in trying to post the topic i found out mine also doing the same shit. hope this get resolved soon because its creeping me out already and you cant DELETE the topics you yourself created so hectic.
