181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Frustrations: Losing Streak on: January 01, 2018, 08:16:47 AM
Actually when you decide to invest bitcoin and gamble with bitcoin, your frustration level become more painful twice because not only care for gambling winning but also care about bitcoin value especially that bitcoin still consider as risky investment because it's volatile value !
That is the beauty of it in my opinion. The bright side: you can lose some, but a few months later your gross profit/loss is positive (if you convert into EUR or USD) because of the rise in price of Bitcoin. This has proved to be the case this year, and not just a little.
And if you win, this is obviously even better.  Smiley
182  Economy / Services / Re: ★☆★ Bitvest.io - Plinko Sig. Campaign ★☆★ (JR-Hero Accepted) on: January 01, 2018, 08:08:24 AM
Greetings to the team.

I am very happy to apply for BITVEST campaign.
I will make sure to provide great visibility of your services. I will of course post the required number of constructive messages here (minimum 60 posts per week) and can also tweet about BITVEST (not asking for extra payments for this, I have over 1200 followers now, growing everyday).

This is an ideal campaign for me, as I have been into crypto-currencies for almost a year now, but also into online gambling (sports betting too) for over five years. I have very solid knowledge in casino games, odds, with some contacts in this field, and I just love discussing about it.

My English is not perfect as I am not a native speaker, but my level is good enough for constructive discussions, to provide some tips, and to exchange about various subjects.
I also wrote a few articles on different topics, such as luck / bad luck, sports betting, odds (I can provide the links upon request).

Thank you so much for giving me a chance to work for you.

Kind regards, and happy new year to the team.

183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / "Bitcoin Arena" (skating rink in Denmark) / Athlete getting paid in BTC on: January 01, 2018, 03:30:57 AM
Cute story here (in French but you can use Google translate > https://journalducoin.com/bitcoin/danemark-bitcoin-dans-le-sport/ )

The owner of the skating rink became rich thanks to Bitcoin and decided to rename the rink as the "Bitcoin arena".
More interesting, the article also says that one player (Nikolaj Rosenthal) agreed to be paid in Bitcoin and apparently he is the first athlete ever to receive his salary in crypto-currency (another article here, in English this time > https://www.sbnation.com/nhl/2017/12/14/16777372/hockey-team-bitcoin-arena-salaries-rungsted-seier-capital ).

184  Economy / Marketplace / A broker that can send a bank transfer to a bank account that I don’t own on: January 01, 2018, 03:13:41 AM
Hi bitcointalk community,

I am willing to sell some of my Bitcoin soon, and I am the owner of a wallet at Advcash (with a mastercard as well).
For obvious reasons, it would be nice for me if I could receive my funds to my Advcash wallet. Problem is: there will not be my name on the bank details for the bank transfer.

I contacted Advcash and here their reply:
Quote
Thank you for contacting Advanced Cash support center.
You can, if that business can send a bank transfer to a bank account that you don’t own. Some businesses can only send transfers to an account in your name, so you will need to check that. You will easily find the 3rd party bank transfer details inside your Advanced Cash account in Deposit Funds > SWIFT > 3rd party. Please note that these transfers are processed based on transfer note that contains your wallet ID. If you cannot add a note to the transfer, you will need to contact us giving us the exact sender name and the amount. We will then try to find and process the transfer manually.

As it would be the first time for me to sell my Bitcoin, I have no idea if existing brokers on the market are willing to do such thing?

Thanks for your help.
Regards, and happy new year.
185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Andreas Explains To Kevin Rose That Bitcoin Tx's Will Be 100x Visa's on: January 01, 2018, 02:21:41 AM
Some say Ripple is going to overtake Visa and Mastercard but I don't see it for now. 2018 (or even 2020-2025) it's way too soon.
Bitcoin is a great solution anyway but only if LN is implemented soon.
Good video by the way Thanhjonhan, and happy new year to you.
186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your strategies to identify the best crypto investments? on: January 01, 2018, 12:40:54 AM
You have to follow influential people on Twitter.  Developers, investors, executives at big companies.  They often give very good clues about where the next big wave is going to come from.
Good advice + Youtube (for example this Swedish guy "Ivan on Tech", very knowledgeable).
I am myself very careful with the hype surrounding specific coins. But there are some great projects even on this forum, Stamps platform for instance looks very promising.
187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It is for retards, but for some reason retards aren't loosing all their money... on: January 01, 2018, 12:32:48 AM
I am a happy Bitcoin holder, but to be fair even dumb people can make money, with luck for instance.
If things were that simple, you would just need to watch dumb people and see what they do, and then do the opposite yourself, and it would guarantee you to be rich, but no it does not work like that.
And to be completely honest, loads of Bitcoin holders have no clue of what Bitcoin is and just follow the mass, especially last 2 months since the price overtook the 10k USD bar. He got a point IMO Smiley
188  Economy / Speculation / Re: Too Many Gloom & Doomers! on: December 31, 2017, 02:42:47 PM
Of course there is a panic, because there is a big hype for months now, and out of control frenzy ever since the price overtook 10k USD.
I am amazed at the number of people with no knowledge at all about Bitcoin and crypto-currencies in general, yet buying and holding, they are the ones panicking at the moment, because they don't understand what is happening. Get some knowledge, try to understand what you invested into. This is not true only for cryptos but anything you invest into.

189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Successfull test ot Lighning for Bitcoin on: December 31, 2017, 12:14:37 PM
Because of this successful test, it's high time to start to educate people about the Lightning Network. Only a little part of the bitcoiners have information about this Lightning Network.
Indeed. This page is pretty informative on the subject. Or a more recent one here > Lightning Network explained

I always prefer betting on sports I have deep knowledge on, for instance tennis. After big losses, I will stay away from my favorite bookmaker and wait for a week, and try to find the perfect spot to place a bet. I know it sounds silly to say but there are some very safe bets if you are patient enough. When I say safe, please don't take it literally, we all know it does not exist in real life, or else your return will be extremely small.

Finding the best site to bet on based on odds is a smart thing, but I couldn't understand what does it matter if you bet on spots that you have knowledge on, or you bet on sports that you don"t have any.

At the end, the sportsbook always has an adventage over you, and the chances to lose at both cases is the same.

There is nothing called safe bet.
Betting is not safe  , not matter what are you betting on and what are you chances to win.
It is litteraly not safe and could be counted as a very risky activity.
I understand your point of view, but I believe the odds are never "perfect", sometimes you can see odds out at the wrong price, it usually does not last though, the sharpest punters will see them and bet on them, and then these odds will drop so the value will be gone. You need to be quick to see these odds settled at the wrong price. It is not easy, and to be honest becoming rare these days, but they do exist.  Smiley

192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the weight of Europe in today's Bitcoin market? on: December 31, 2017, 03:23:11 AM
Europe does not have that much weight in today's bitcoin market, although you would like to see the opposite. Asia, that is China, Japan, South Korea, India etc. should not be underestimated.

Yeah, call me when those numbers will change:

So do you have any actual data to back your claims?

Interesting numbers stompix, thanks for sharing.

@bitart: do you mean Advcash or such service? Yes sadly I heard only mastercard registered in SEPA zone are available now. I heard about Epayments as an alternative, I think they deliver their service to America but i'll make sure to double check this.

194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: December 31, 2017, 03:12:54 AM
So, Nishikori is not playing Hopman Cup for Japan, a shame it would have been a good preparation ahead of the Australian Open. He has not played on the tour since August and will be quite rusty I believe, but he also has big support in Melbourne, I hope he'll go far this year.
195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Paid 199 sat/b (circa 4.80 EUR at the price of yesterday) to send BTC on: December 31, 2017, 12:24:25 AM
The price was around 13k USD yesterday when I sent a payment of 0.008 BTC and I chose to pay 199 sat/b for the transfer (recommended fee was 350 or something). I got 6 confirmations within eight hours, not that bad compared to a few weeks ago.
Is it because of the price dropping?

I wanted to use an accelerator service after a day, but did not need to.

Always make sure to modify the recommended fee if you can afford to in terms of time, and/or use an accelerator, there are plenty around.
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin and ethereum has good reputation.... But is there any other coin? on: December 30, 2017, 03:17:29 PM
There are load of topics on this forum about this, you could make a quick search, here or Google, Youtube.
Monero is a name that was not mentioned yet on this topic, it is a good coin with solid basis and regular growth.
197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some Scary Stuff Here on: December 30, 2017, 03:03:47 PM
Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, as of right now, is really making criminals, drug addicts, nefarious beings, and other evil organizations jobs a lot easier.

"some scary stuff" This shit with the ramsonwares was just a old stuff that happened more than five months ago, maybe more if i am not wrong.

Why are you posting this fud right now? What a coincidence, the price goes down, it is full of fud.. and a newbie account with zero posts contributes with more fud.

Money have the same issues, money laundering, criminals, drugs, without money, there wouldn't be any crimes.

And bitcoin = money.

This guy was literally kidnapped. I don't think you even read the story.
The same thing happened a few months ago in Taiwan. Let's be honest, Bitcoin is not related to crime by any mean, but it would be naive to think the demand for Bitcoin last few years has no link with crime. This is an appropriate tool for criminals and that's why the market of Bitcoin need to acknowledge it IMO. It is not being a "troll", a "FUD newbie" to acknowledge that.
What I dislike very much is "journalists" knowing pretty much nothing about Bitcoin, and calling it a scam / or dangerous for this sole reason. without digging deeper to get more exact information and see the big picture.

198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Successfull test ot Lighning for Bitcoin on: December 30, 2017, 02:45:50 PM
That's all we are waiting for, for LN to be implemented, there are risks but I trust the community for this, they know what they are doing. If this is not some fake news, this would solve all the problems Bitcoin is facing right now and would encourage some merchants to accept and use Bitcoin.
 Fingers crossed.
199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have NEVER seen Bitcoin in such a sorry state as this!! on: December 30, 2017, 11:19:08 AM
Don't understand how a 6 year experienced bitcoiner still doesn't know when to hold.
2018 will be a great year, and this is the runup to the start of that year.

Every coin needs a stable balance, for the alt coins this is bitcoin, for bitcoin it's a reliable market
In the previous 6 years, correct me if I am wrong but the fees were never a concern, actually it was not until late this year. This is a new problem for Bitcoin and the community behind it.
200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have NEVER seen Bitcoin in such a sorry state as this!! on: December 30, 2017, 10:13:58 AM
I sent a payment this morning with blockchain.info and the average fee was around $12, not too bad if you send the equivalent of $1000, but not too good if you send a small payment (I sent a total of $150). I would not consider $12 a "low fee" anyway. I am replying to guoyu78's comment above me.

Now another question, what will holders too if the price of BTC keeps floating around 12-15k without going higher for 2 or 3 months straight? Ask yourself the question...  perhaps some investors will get interested because the price is more stable (therefore less risky for them), but some others will run away as they may think BTC reached its maximal potential.
