401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: November 13, 2017, 03:05:41 PM
Federer made a comfortable win today against Sock. By my opinion, he is No.1 favorite to win this tournament.
He is no.1 favorite but Nadal really has a chance to break that 4- nill against federer this time . I hope Nadal comes out Victorious because he hasn't won even one and it's his time .
Considering how a thirty one year old struggles to beat someone five years older than him in the whole of 2017, I really don't think this is Rafael Nadal's year even though he has won a lot of trophies but Federer has also won a lot of trophies as well and even more grand slams trophies this year than Nadal.
I watched a bit of Roger Federer yesterday against Jack Sock, and the Swiss played very average, and the bounce looked strange. I wonder if Rafa's game will be favored by these conditions.
Roger has all the confidence of his 4 wins over Rafa this year, but with these weird conditions you never know, they are similar to 2013 when Nadal scored his only win over Federer indoors.
I 'll wait to see how Rafa looks against David Goffin tonight.

Odds are still massively on Fed's side: 1.65 for the win, Nadal trading @ 6.0 now before his first match.

When you say very average does it mean that Federer is not putting enough effort right? But when push becomes a shove then we might see Federer rising his game again. I think this year, Federer has make a lot of adjustments that really made his strong physically. Like having a good rest between tournaments and just picking up good one to enter. Of course Roger will be the favorite here, although Rafa is hanging in there. Let's see how he perform against a tough opponent like David Groffin, Rafa is 2-0 against David.

Yes, agree, last time I saw Federer that average was against Richard Gasquet in Shanghai, and then he played incredible in the final the same week. Yesterday I was surprised by the number of returns he missed, Jack Sock is not exactly a huge server.
Was a first match anyway, and a win is a win.

@bitcoinmasterlord
Agree big time, value on Nadal, the odds are so high because there is still concern about his knee, who knows if it will hold up.

404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC or BCH??? on: November 13, 2017, 12:58:33 AM
It is a difficult question to answer: Bitcoin Cash is superior because of block size, transactions speed, and low fees. But it is very young.
Bitcoin is here since 2009, I don't believe Bitcoin will crash so I would still go for Bitcoin and hope the teams behind do something to accelerate transactions very soon.
405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'M GETTING REALLY ANGRY! WTF is happening with this BTC/BCH crap! on: November 12, 2017, 08:00:37 AM
Right now, my emotions are taking over, and I probably checked BTC price 10 times today already (usually I check once a day). Not good.
I rather let one week pass without checking the price and do other things. I won't sell. We need to be strong. But it is hard to deny how powerful BCC is.

One thing I don't get though is why so many BTC transactions are stuck and take ages since the start of the week. I don't get this since Segwitx2 was canceled, so why is it happening?

Be strong guys.
406  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin Cash will NEVER be bitcoin on: November 12, 2017, 12:58:05 AM
bitcoin = BTC
Bitcoin Cash = BCH

THAT'S THE DIFFERENCE, YA DINGUS!

Bitcoin is bitcoin while Bitcoin Cash is simply another altcoin that is trying to cash in on the good name of bitcoin.

Let's stop trying to pretend they're the same thing. Its an absolute travesty that whoever runs bitcoin.com would publish an article stupid enough trying to say they are the same thing, when they most clearly ARE NOT.

Here's a couple other reasons:

Was Bitcoin Cash founded by Satoshi Nakamoto? NO.
Do _any_ merchants that you can think of off the top of your head actually accept BCH? NO.
Will merchants be more likely to accept BCH in the future, now that they've just barely wrapped their heads around the concept of bitcoin and begun to integrate payment acceptance mechanisms for it? NO!

This is by far the biggest and most sinister pump job of an altcoin I've ever seen. If you're gonna make your own coin, at least come up with your own damn name! BCH reeks of unoriginality and is greed at its worst. This kind of behavior is what turns off the general public from wanting to get involved in crypto in the first place.

Critics what say ye? I'm all ears.

Sorry mate, I read your post and I read no solid argument whatsoever to demonstrate that BCC is a bad coin that has no future.
No mention of block size, no mention of speed of transactions, no mention of fee. Your post is just air.
Please try again.
Thanks.
407  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How long bitcoin will survive ? on: November 12, 2017, 12:51:54 AM
I think Bitcoin will survive until the end of the Earth. Bitcoin price can be fluctuated, but it never dies. You should not worry about it
Blockchain technology will survive big time, this is the future, but no coin is stronger than blockchain, and any coin can die if it becomes obsolete, including Bitcoin.
Bitcoin has its reputation, because it was the first crypto in the market, but it better adapts and finds a way to accelerate transactions because competition is really strong right now. Take nothing for granted. Friendly advice.  Wink
408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Who is pumping Bitcoin Cash? on: November 11, 2017, 08:50:26 AM
I hope this bubble burst. They will have a lesson do not try to kill bitcoin.
If bitcoin dies, a whole market will collapse.
Maybe not, because the blockchain technology proved to be very promising and seduced tons of people, I disagree with your comment.
That being said, you may be right short term, but long term not so much.
blockchain is the future IMO and might survive no matter what happens to Bitcoin.
409  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does hardforks do to the value of bitcoin? on: November 11, 2017, 08:47:12 AM
As the topic says, can anyone please elaborate for me what Hardforks do to the value of bitcoin? Will it make it increase it's value or decrease? I've tried to do some research online, reading at forbes etc. All I could see was that hardforks create a newblock chain to improve the bitcoin transaction system.

And in addition, is this a good thing? When will the next hardfork commence?
Hi Miguel.
Segwitx2 is canceled (or they say "postponed"), which means no hard fork before 2018 or maybe 2019. Lots of people were worried about this fork, and lot of people were saying Bitcoin price would increase with the cancelation of Segwitx2, but this is not my opinion.
I believe Bitcoins needs to evolve, and block size needs to get bigger. If Bitcoin does not want to become obsolete soon it should find a way to improve transactions, make them faster. Fees need to get smaller too.
Look at Bitcoin Cash and how well it is going now...
410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Who is pumping Bitcoin Cash? on: November 11, 2017, 08:00:33 AM
So much denial and ignorance about what is happening here.

Bitcoin Cash is exploding because 2x failed.

Why?

Because it means bitcoin core chain will not scale.  It's freaking simple.

Bitcoin Cash is going to have lower fees, faster confirmations, and its going
to be more usable.

Bitcoin Core has chosen to relegate itself to a store of value only,
which is dubious.  ...Or bet on some future off chain scaling that is
just as shaky.

I’ve been reading the different posts opened about the subject on this forum and it’s surprising to me that nobody is commenting about what you say.

Because there a lot of newbies here who are just trying to boost their post count, but have no clue about Bitcoin Cash. In my humble opinion, jonald is spot on, block size matters a lot, fees and since a few days now some Bitcoin transactions taking ages to be confirmed.
Investing in Bitcoin Cash right now is a very good move IMO.
Good luck all  Smiley
411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Who is pumping Bitcoin Cash? on: November 11, 2017, 02:33:00 AM
Have you guys not noticed a lot of Bitcoin transactions are stuck since the beginning of the week?
Some people had 0 confirmation 24 hours after they send a payment (with the standard blockchain.info fee). Block size becoming a problem?
We know how powerful Bitcoin Cash can be when it comes to block size.
Bitcoin better moves forward if it does want to become obsolete in the near future...
412  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Almost 24 hours unconfirmed on: November 10, 2017, 01:26:25 PM
Like everyone else said, you sent a really low fee.
Apparently, on blockchain.info when you choose a decent fee (the standard one), there is a "bug" (or not sure how to call it), that changes the fee and makes it like 0.0000XX, not sure why but this is what 's happening since a few days for a few people now.
413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: about airdrop on: November 10, 2017, 01:49:45 AM
hello friends, i want to ask about airdrop, i have been following and join airdrop to get coin, but until now i have not got any coin at all, why can be like that? is there something wrong with airdrop that i follow? do i follow only airdrop scam?
Hi Shreek,
Unfortunately most of them are probably scams, and it is very difficult to know beforehand if you will get scammed or not.
I would say less than 10% are legit. Be very careful with all hype surrounding airdrop, some people got lucky but most of the time you will earn nothing.
I recommend you other ways to make money, trading (if you are skilled for that) or signature campaigns (the easy way even though it takes time but Rome was not built in one day).
414  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am pretty confident we are the new wealthy elite, gentlemen. on: November 09, 2017, 12:57:20 PM
It's nice to be able to think that in the next 10 years, the newcomers to this thread will view us too as elite.  Cool
Probably, well the only risks for me:
- most governments banning BTC (not likely, if there is too much money in cryptos, I doubt governments ban it, would rather could tax it)
- an altcoin overtaking BTC, this is the biggest risk IMO, I hope BTC constantly improves so that it can be able to keep the lead  Cool
otherwise, 10 years from now, it is not difficult to see a price of 100 000 or above.
This is a personal opinion and not a recommendation to buy.
415  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin is still not big at all, and thus not expensive (IMO) here is why: on: November 09, 2017, 04:34:39 AM
Hi folks,
It is been several times on this forum I read "Bitcoin is too expensive now", and every time I reply that it is just a matter of supply and demand and nothing else. Noobs get "impressed" by the $7 000 number (or 5 / 6 000 whatever) without thinking properly IMO. This number of 7 000 means nothing if not put into comparison with all the different markets in the world.

This article will save me from writing more. Please read and see how tiny Bitcoin is when compared to other markets.

Enjoy, and I hope it will educate some.

One last thing: this is the reason why (IMO) Bitcoin has a huge potential in price in next 5 years. This is my personal opinion and not a recommendation to buy.

Regards.
416  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit 2x Cancelled - Bullish Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash (Crypto Times #20) on: November 09, 2017, 04:13:16 AM
Is it really cancelled? I thought it's just suspended. This expectation to the fork already caused a huge rise in bitcoin price and a huge drop on altcoins' price. I hope corrections happen fast before they announce the fork again.
The article I read says "suspended until a consensus is found in the community". Which pretty much means suspended until 2018 or 2019, not sure when a consensus will be found even though I personally think the fork was a good thing. If Bitcoin does not evolve for the better, it will die. Competition from other cryptos is strong.
417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit 2x Cancelled - Bullish Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash (Crypto Times #20) on: November 09, 2017, 01:19:05 AM
I feel larger blocksize will be necessary soon or later. And with current fees, the project was a good move IMO but unfortunately it seems many are against it. The day will come when people realize it was the right thing to do. Hope they don't realize too late.
Anyway, good news for short term price it seems, can't complain for now.
418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitCoin 20 Years From Now on: November 08, 2017, 08:45:09 AM
It will be surpased by other, more developed crypto currencies. If you look back, two years ago neither Ether not Factom existed. Now they re quite important parts of crypto community. Everything changes.
My only fear regarding Bitcoin. Cryptos and the blockchain have a bright future, I have no doubt about it, but I hope Bitcoin can "keep the lead". Ethereum is proving to be better anonymity wise.
419  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: HIVE project on: November 08, 2017, 06:21:46 AM
I don't know how you guys can predict the price of such altcoins, no disrespect to Hive of course, but making profit on such coins is like playing lottery. Better be careful.

"i heard soon will moon..."

Sorry but we hear this pretty much all the time so that it is too difficult to tell if the hype relies or solid background or not.  Huh

PS: "moon" is not a verb (at least in this specific context) Wink
420  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Phew! That was close ... on: November 07, 2017, 01:25:22 PM
A few weeks ago I deposited 0.25 BTC at a poker site which converts BTC into USD. The price was 4200USD/BTC.
Suddenly BTC goes up to +7000 and I am at a small loss of 84$ on the poker site. Yesterday, I decided to withdraw it all, but a BTC withdrawal would give me 0.12 BTC, so I search for other options. Saw that they accept other Altcoins as well. Checked prices for some lower waves and found Potcoin. Yesterday I withdrew 916 USD in POT directly to Poloniex, which gave me about 10500 POT, when price was 0.00001240. Put a sell order at a level that would give me a little win at 0.00002499. Sold it all and got back 0.255 BTC. Phew, that was close...

The moral of the story: HODL!

Converting BTC to fiat to play poker or on sports betting websites can be dangerous, I strongly recommend that you use websites where you can play poker, or bet on sports in BTC such as Nitrogensports, 777coin, FortuneJack, etc.
You will find a list on this forum.
I placed a few bets at Fairlay too and I am very happy with them. Got really lucky with one bet though, so be careful obviously.
Good advice but I suspect AGD knows what he's doing, as he's no noob.

I've made many mistakes myself where I've spent bitcoin or sold it when I should have just held on to it--and I mean many mistakes.  I get antsy very quickly when the price goes up a lot, because I know nothing goes up forever.   But bitcoin just keeps surprising me.  Glad OP didn't get wrecked on this, as 0.25BTC is a lot of dough these days.  And it's so crazy, because not very long ago 0.25 wouldn't have been much at all.

Yep, I did not pay attention at AGD activity before I replied to the initial post. Felt a bit bad afterwards since my reply sounds a bit like a reply for noobs indeed, and AGD has the legendary status  Smiley so, kudos.
My initial advice still stands for other users who have less experience and never knew the existence of casinos/bookmakers running with Bitcoins  Wink
