601  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tracking all my bets (tennis/soccer) for 2017/2018 ..... on: October 16, 2017, 04:55:40 AM
Soccer / Serie A / Inter Milan vs Milan AC

Derby of Italy, this is one of those no team want to lose by any mean. I choose this match to bet on goals because this match is very hard to predict. Both of teams are playing offensive football and i think here we can watch more than one goal just in first half. Both teams can score a lot, so I am gonna pick Over 2.5 goals.

Over 2.5 @ 1.90
Stake: 0.01 BTC

Not bad to have doubled your bitcoins on the Derby della madonnina yesterday. I felt cheated though when AC Milan lost through that awful penalty call by the referee but i never thought of betting even though it would have been nice  for me to make a cool 0.1BTC.
I understand mate, to be fair it is always hard to make a call on the winner of that particular derby. I was almost tempted to place a bet on the draw as well but did not, lucky me. It was a close match for sure and I don't think AC Milan deserved to lose that one, I agree with you.

The spikes are pretty massive, oscillation at his best, but well why not?
People waited when it almost hit rockbottom to buy in. ..
603  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Which wallet for multisignature addresses? on: October 16, 2017, 03:35:15 AM
Hi ICOs (funny username Smiley)
I would recommend Armoury (desktop wallet) or CarbonWallet (web wallet).
They are strong services as far as I know so you should be happy with them.
604  Other / Meta / Re: I'm Another "HERO" Account HACKED... WTF is going on? on: October 16, 2017, 03:28:29 AM
Hello
I am no expert in computer science, but surely checking the IPs of the account hacked, and the new account created should be enough for admins to see if the person is not lying? If not using a VPN, but most VPN should be known by admins already.

PS: i sometimes post with a VPN but thats because I work in the betting industry, nothing to do with bitcoin.
605  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting Sports Predictions by Miha8! PREMIUM PREDICTIONS NOW AVAILABLE!!! on: October 16, 2017, 02:50:34 AM
Federer played like he was 25 years old today, that defies logic.

It's nothing strange. For the last year, he has been taking more breaks between some tournaments so he is rested and motivated to win few more tournaments before he retires from playing.
I don't know, I find it incredible, he is 36 years old now and I never saw him play that well in the last 3 years, ok maybe that semi final at Wimbledon against Murray in 2015.
Nadal should still end the year as #1.

608  Local / India / Re: Bitcoin Price bubble with Brust under government pressure on: October 15, 2017, 08:26:54 AM
Hi.
Whats the situation in India?
Its been 286 times I read about a bubble regarding Bitcoin, still the price rises month after month, years after years.
From what I read around, India has been at least three years behind the world in embracing The Bitcoin. But it is never too late.
IMO people who think it’s a bubble are fundamentally averse to the idea of technology or they don’t understand the potential of this technology.
Thoughts?

609  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How stated-backed cryptos will affect bitcoin? on: October 15, 2017, 06:38:08 AM
Some governments and banks are issuing cryptocurrencies as they have realized that cryptos market is becoming too important to turn their backs on them. Some examples:

https://www.cnbc.com/2017/10/13/bitcoin-get-serious-about-digital-currency-imf-christine-lagarde-says.html

http://www.businessinsider.com/dubai-official-cryptocurrency-blockchain-emcash-2017-10

https://www.techworm.net/2017/09/india-bitcoin-like-cryptocurrency-called-lakshmi-coin.html

How do you think this will affect bitcoin market? Some people will only use what their government tells them is legal. Do you think it will have a big impact?

State backed cryptocurrency is fake news. You cannot create a cryptocurrency without people with technical know-how. And most nations are lacking the computer skilled manpower and the funds to maintain a cryptocurrency. This is fake news. Believe me.
Not sure it is fake, eventually, if Bitcoin has a future, this is the direction it should take. More regulations, more security bringing more investors, leading to a (high) more stable price in the future. If you are doing nothing illegal, such future should be positive news.
610  Economy / Speculation / Re: SELL Bitcoin? Massive Resistance Rejected! on: October 15, 2017, 06:27:57 AM
thanks cryptopost, interesting read.
I won't be surprised if it goes below 5000.. at which point it is wise to get more. I will be waiting breathedly to see how Bitcoin Cash responds in case of such a drop.
Reminder: Never bet more than you can afford to lose. But I will definitely go out of my way to get a larger position if it falls that much. Bitcoin tends to always retrace higher than its previous low.
611  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-10-14] Bitcoin Isn’t Money — It’s Like Diamonds on: October 15, 2017, 06:13:55 AM
It is said that bitcoin has barely reach 1 percent of its potential, as compare to gold with a market of 8 trillion USD and compare it again with US currency market cap and circulation of 12 trillion, with the current bitcoin's market cap of 95 biliion, we could see that it is almost 1 percent against the gold value, the massive adaption has a  very long way to go, it will need a market cap of at least 1 trillion USD before we could say that it will race against gold. Bitcoin    today was purely a store of value or an asset an not purely currency for the masses.

Well I really doubt that it has only reached 1% of the market. It has reached much more than that for sure. Infact what I feel now is that in coming years may be 5- 10 years down the line as technology changes there would be something new come up which will be might have more demand than btc so prices would dip in that case.

If BTC has a bright future, then BTC price is due to stabilize at some point. The difficulty is to know in which range the price will stabilize. If it gets more stable, it will encourage people to buy more.
I have friends who know nothing about BTC and their fear is " I do not want to buy because the price fluctuates too much ". In short they think it is too unpredictable.
Without being expert, I think the price could gets more stable around 20k to 30k in 5 years from now which would already be awesome if you ask me, but again we do not all have the same target.
612  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hacker stole $31M of Ether. Can this happen again? on: October 15, 2017, 06:00:55 AM
I am no expert on blockchain protocols, but it should be disturbing that these hacks keep happening.
Sure in the past there were some egregious mistakes made but I think that we can assume that the people building most of the software that gets hacked are somewhere between competent to expert. Yet they keep getting hacked.
This suggests to me that it is really hard to get these protocols right. This further suggests a problem in design. If only a few people in the world have a deep enough understanding of how to build reliable cryptocurrency systems there’s a problem. The problem is even worse if some of these people build system that end up being hacked. Luckily I am no holder of ETH but I feel for those who are. This should effect the price, surely? Sad

616  Other / Beginners & Help / Need help please about the upcoming hard fork and my Bitcoins at bookmakers on: October 14, 2017, 11:44:57 PM
Hello guys,
As a newbie in the Bitcoin world, I bought my first ever BTC a few months ago. And here is the situation now:

- I have 0.5 BTC at Blockchain (no hardware wallet yet in my possession)
- I have 0.52 BTC pending on a bet at a bookmaker, this bet will be paid in January (Trump to be President until end of year 2017: Yes).

Is there anything I need to do?
The bookmaker said he will pay the bet in BTC, when it is settled (as the bet right now is very likely to be a winner).

Any opinion very welcome.

Thanks for reading.

Regards.

618  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whens all bitcoin going to be mined? on: October 14, 2017, 04:05:15 PM
They reckon 2040 the final block will be mined. I dont see how that is possible.
Super new technologies and more internet users every year as well as more people knowing about mining.
I reckon bitcoin mining will be done by 2025 or so.
Unless i am completely missing alot of facts here...
I personally do not understand block time and all that stuff, but i just guesstimate that as early as 2025 its done.
Thanks for reading and educating me.
619  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex wants my credentials, where is crypto anonymity?! on: October 14, 2017, 01:29:34 PM
Soon or later, regulations will be put in place, but look at the bright side, with regulations people will be less exposed to scammers, and big investors will be "less scared" to invest in Bitcoins. Coinbase asked for a copy of my passport when I signed up with them. If you have nothing to hide and do nothing illegal, it is not a big deal IMO.
620  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to Turn Gambling into a Profitable Activity on: October 14, 2017, 04:53:33 AM
If you wanna become a profitable sports handicapper, you need to STUDY teams. Learning a lot about individual teams and leagues, and staying up to date on team info and injuries can really help you find value. Bookies don't know everrything, so try to figure out where you can exploit a lack of knowledge, especially in obscure or lower-tier leagues.
Sports handicapping and poker are probably the two legit way to make money while gambling.

I know crap about poker, but have 6 years of experience now in sports betting. I learned the hard way, by losing a lot, but I learned.
Contrary to what many bettors think, bookmakers rarely open a market at the perfect prices for all outcomes possible. Thats why opportunities do exist for sharp punters to make long-term profit.
If you have a deep look on your favorite sport and all matches already played this year, you will quickly notice that opening odds are very rarely a perfect representation of real chances.
This is also the reason why you will find plenty of bookmakers applying 10% or more margin on their odds, in order to protect themselves from sharp punters, so you need a good bookmaker to start, and grab the opportunities while they are. They usually dont last long.
