281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is bitcoin price so much lower on bittrex as oppose to coinbase/gdax/gemini? on: December 10, 2017, 08:33:10 AM
Probably Bittrex try to create "sure trades" and wait for the fish to bite. I mean this is a living proof that we are still at the very beginning of cryptotrading, soon these opportunities will become rare or inexistent, but I am sure right now many still bite, lots of newbies.
That's also what will happen with banks in US offering Bitcoins to their customers, profits guaranteed each time unless the customer is not a noob and can check preev.com in real time.  Wink
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] The Abyss - A Next-Generation Game Platform on: December 08, 2017, 09:26:31 PM
Hi. Looks great.
Maybe it would be a cool idea to contact some popular gamers on Youtube, some of them have loads of followers, they could give the Abyss good visibility.
All the best, looks promising.  Smiley
283  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Breaks $16,000: How 5 Billionaire Investors Got Bitcoin Wrong on: December 08, 2017, 09:02:23 PM
Well I posted a thread earlier, 10,000 holders represent 40% of all Bitcoin market. Don't get me wrong, I am an optimistic when Bitcoin is concerned but one may wonder the actual percentage of people buying Bitcoin for what it is: the possibility to buy and sell anonymously, online. I think most of buyers now are just there, to profit and sell eventually, a lot of newbies too... a lot of people commenting on Bitcoin without much knowledge about it.

What makes me feel good in a way, is that I see a lot of FUD on Twitter from people knowing nothing about cryptos, and comparing Bitcoin holders with vegans (yes you read it right), ludicrous, ignorants are on both sides really.

IMO we may head to a crash soon, in 2018, but with a back up in 2019 when Bitcoin will be back to what it really is. A currency. Because right now it is an asset like gold, not really a currency. Long term will be bright I think, short term, maybe not so much.

1,000 People Own 40 Percent of Bitcoin Market
Easy to understand why the price is volatile. Could collapse soon or rise really really high in the next 5 years.

Hi mra201. There is the same problem for weeks now, I recommend you to use a service like this one > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2204426.0
287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN PRICE is About Collapse of US Dollar - Nothing Else to Consider on: December 08, 2017, 07:15:52 AM
Notice that the OP completely missed the other side of the debate....deflation.  That would strengthen fiat and weaken crypto.
Short term most probably, but let's not forget Bitcoin is deflationary by nature.
288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My experience with btc so far. on: December 08, 2017, 06:57:01 AM
Bitcoin is not designed for small payments, that much was obcious from the start and discussed by devs including Satoshi himself in quite a bit of details. Now when it costs a lot of money and has large transaction fees it's more like digital gold (you don't pay with gold usually, don't you?) than a day-to-day currency.
Well I cannot disagree here, for sure I will have no problem buying a car with my Bitcoins even if I need to pay 50 USD fee. But the initial idea of Satoshi Nakamoto was to use it as an online payment only and for any service, not only high prices. even my flight ticket to go back home once a year cost me approximately 1000 USD, it is not cheap, and a fee of 30 or 50 USD will represent 3-5% of that, not too good all things considered Wink
289  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN PRICE is About Collapse of US Dollar - Nothing Else to Consider on: December 08, 2017, 06:53:28 AM
US dollar should be fine, anyway Bitcoin for now will be used an asset just like gold, and not a currency. The reasons are pretty obvious...
That being said, gold has been "fine" for almost 200 years now, only difference is that Bitcoin is immaterial and that's why there is always a risk to lose your money.
Anyway, no doubt that blockchain technology is the future but is still too fresh today for cryptos to be used as a real currency, hopefully one day.
290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My experience with btc so far. on: December 08, 2017, 06:45:20 AM
Ok, I am a big optimistic when Bitcoin is concerned, but yesterday I paid 13 USD to send a payment. This is worrying... what if next year the standard fee to send a quick payment is 20 USD? or 30 USD?
Something needs to be done...
291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reason for the Bitcoin mooning? on: December 07, 2017, 10:50:52 AM
In my humble opinion the price of bitcoin is not yet high , the price will increase in the future definitely. At the moment the price is still $15k+ but in the future price will increase definitely, because the attraction of bitcoin towards the people is on the rise daily. Apparently,  users will increase and price will also increase. What's your take on this?
Hi Adrazan. Main reason: probably the hype around, together with recent news in US about 3 exchange operators offering Bitcoin. Also together with hedge funds getting interested into Bitcoin.
I think in US, banks will now allow their clients to buy Bitcoin as an asset. That's why more and more American citizens are slowly getting into it.
Also, the price rising so fast clearly shows that the adoption is still very very far from being mainstream, hence the potential.
292  Economy / Exchanges / Re: cex.io missing eth problem on: December 06, 2017, 08:18:29 PM
Nothing to worry, there is ongoing network congestion on the Ethereum network right now. Just like Bitcoin a few weeks ago. No other choice but to be patient.
293  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: i heard bitcoin illegal in Taiwan...why? on: December 06, 2017, 07:58:54 PM
From what I can see, they're just reminding people that bitcoin is 'not legal tender' in Taiwan – just like everywhere. Now whether this implies illegality, or a ban, depends on where you live I suppose but I doubt they'll be shutting down any Taiwanese exchanges.Headlines like this have the potential to scare away investors, though.

Last time I checked, they are not illegal in any way, but they reminded they financial institutions to be cautious of bitcoin and crypto's in general. And did you know that there's a Bitcoin ATM in Taiwan?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2422999.0

The presence of bitcoin ATM is a clear sign that bitcoin is not illegal there. And remember that Taiwan-China relationship is very rocky. So I conclude that what decision mainland China does, Taiwan will not follow, on the contrary, they will do the opposite. Like China has put a crackdown on bitcoin, but Taiwan still remains a bitcoin friendly nation.
Thanks for posting this topic that I started a month ago, I was about to post the picture.

Well, i'll post it here again anyway:

I was very surprised to see this ATM while waiting for my egg roll to be cooked  Grin and could not help taking a picture. Then I got some information and there are actually 5 ATM In Taiwan.

There is also Maicoin > https://www.maicoin.com/en if you look closely you can see the icon picture of HI-LIFE which every Taiwanese know, this is a convenience store similar to Seven Eleven.
Looking good, I am happy to live there even though I don't speak yet the language very well.

294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why all the negative talk about bitcoin lately? on: December 06, 2017, 01:52:25 PM
I think I should have clarified in my original post - I'm hodling and buying more every time I get the chance; just thought it has been interesting to see people attempting to force negative news that we can all see through so easily over the past few weeks  Grin
I get it, but don't worry too much, when something is hyped, there is a lot of talk about it and hence some negative talk too.
Price speaks for itself, the rest is pointless for now  Wink

If you are aiming at a short term profit, you are not taking a big risk IMO. Pretty easy to make quick and decent profits these days.
To this post I wrote a few weeks ago, I would like to add some thoughts: IMO many negative talk are due to the nature of Bitcoin, I'd better say the nature it has became.
Because the idea of the man behind the nickname Satoshi Nakamoto was to create a digital coin that would be used on Internet only. A decentralized system, when the users remain anonymous. I really don't think he imagined year 2017 with hedge funds trading the coin, investors knowing nothing about it but buying it. At the beginning, Bitcoin was just a solution to send payments without intermediary, on a secure network.
That's why many people who were there in the early days are negative about Bitcoin in 2017 because around it, there are a lot of bad things happening, manipulations, but also all the other cryptos, and all those ICOs.... ad the scams coming with it.

We are now quite far from the initial idea of Satoshi Nakamoto back in 2008. When I say "his" idea, it was actually inspired by Nick Szabo (if both are not the same person).
295  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would be the best way to learn everything related to crypto&blockchain tech on: December 06, 2017, 10:22:54 AM
This e-book can be a good start for you > Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Technologies (2016)
Yeah I know it is 300 pages long but after reading it you'll know more about cryptos and blockchain than 99% of today's investors  Wink
296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Large Bitcoin Holders are Big Believers on: December 05, 2017, 03:03:03 PM
Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of bitcoin, holds about five percent of the bitcoin’s total supply. However, it remains unclear whether the bitcoin Nakamoto had previously mined in 2009 is spendable and since then, for nearly eight years, Nakamoto’s bitcoin has not been moved or spent.

In 2013, the Winklevoss Twins invested $11 million in bitcoin, which was then an immature market, because of their belief in that bitcoin could compete with traditional assets like gold and reserve currency in the long-term.At today’s price of $11,200, 100,000 bitcoins are worth $1.12 billion.
I think the Large bitcoin holders are big believers so does bityuan  is. Bityuan is born in 2014. There is 3 years old now. The large bityuan holders are big believers. And they get 10 times the profit 。

Bityuan's Telegram:https://t.me/bityuan
you need to believe hard and I have immense respect for those who were there in the early days, many of them lost their Bitcoins or forgot about them and some of them got rich. Never forget about the risks though, all those investing today could lose their money, even though I remain optimistic, but all good things come to an end (or maybe I am wrong about that too  Smiley ).
297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: best VPN for crypto payments on: December 05, 2017, 02:57:24 PM
Protonmail have their own VPN now, there is a free version too. I strongly recommend it.

Thank you for such a quick answer, just checked proton pricing at https://protonvpn.com/pricing and it seems that free version has fewer specs and slow speed, differently than paid ones. Have you tried it? What is your experience?
I mostly use it for sports betting so the free version is fine for me, but I think you can definitely trust it since it comes from Protonmail which is the best encrypted email service.
299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: beginning investor on: December 05, 2017, 01:40:50 PM

when talk about money we must be smart to be rich.

so tutorial and others only give information’s so you must be smart to start  investor
Actually not really. You can be just the average Joe and invest in cryptocurrencies and make a lot of money just by holding.
Only smart people bought back in 2011? well probably not. And some very smart people also stay away from it.

Luck / bad luck come into play too.

Just look at everyday life, some smart people are sometimes wrong and dumb people right, it happens.  Smiley
By this post, I just want to say that IMO there is no specific smartness or skills to have if your plan is simply to hold. You just need to be careful and keep your wallet safe.
If you trade, then it's a different story...
