181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SUPERCOIN]First P2p Decentralized Trustless Anonymous Wallet Upgraded V3.1 on: September 04, 2014, 03:57:36 AM

If an exchange looses coins and it isn't the fault of the particular exchange.

If it turns out that coins are needed as a part of a fix to this.
To make up the amount of coins that are needed would it be possible to -

1/ Take of say 25% (or any amount agreed upon) of the normal 100% minting payments, to pay off those who have lost coins.

or

2/ What if the extra 50% minting payment for having over 100,000 coins went to make the exchanges whole again the amount of coins they are out.
I don't know if this extra payment has started yet, if not then this is used first to pay exchanges until all is paid off, then back to normal payments.

3/ Use 1 or 2, but whatever is easiest to implement, and agreed upon.

If exchanges end out loosing coins it is only right that something should be done to help make up for it.

Remember any overall lose is better than the coin being removed and being discontinued, for the exchange and coin holders and developers.

As has been mentioned similar to this has occurred before and fixed. There should easily be a fix to this, but everyone needs to be flexible.

This method of raising coins could further be used by management for use with such things as promotions video's or whatever is needed in the future instead of asking for donations all the time.
182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GLC] Global Coin Group MANDATORY UPDATE! | RELEASED | New Services Coming on: August 31, 2014, 02:07:26 AM
Clearly the original developer does not have the drive or skills to maintain this coin. A shame really, seeing as globalcoin is one of the older and well dispersed altcoins with immense marketability on the name alone.

I vote for a community takeover of the globalcoin project.

I also vote for a community takeover.
The dev has gone, the coin is left for dead.
Nothing is happening with it.
At the moment I categorize it as extinct.
The main thing it has going for it is its name.

There are 2 real possibilities,

1 - New development team, new strategies, marketing, leading to real world uses.

2 - Sell out the name ( through some sort of coin swap ) to a coin that has much better tech, but has crap name. This can be  better for both coins as they become one for the benefit of both coin holders, before this coin becomes completely valueless and disappears altogether. This can give greater value and focus on the new coin.

"We need a more active support team. You will get your answers soon when supercointeam log in. "

I agree with brookefinancial,
I think that the support team should grow with the coin. Support should be looking at increasing its base, taking people on who are technically able to do the job.
Be able to offer advice and help where needed.
This will lead to less pressure on any individual support team member, and all around better 24/7 help and advice.

Still having problems with supersend.
Tried to send coins to bitrex for test, still doesn't work.
"S" starts as green then goes yellow for a while and there are 5 service nodes, but same thing as yesterday no coins are sent. My balance remains the same.
Doesn't even look like it tries to send any coins.

what is in your conf file? Also full output getlastanontxinfo ... can you copy paste to my PM

I used the downloadable conf file from op and replaced the old one.
I have no problems when I send coins the normal way, its just when I use supersend.

It's late now, will look again tomorrow. If I continue to have problems I will pm you the info.

Looking at the txinfo I am finding that each attempt to send ends prematurely.

The transactions get up to "Set initial Send Info."
and that's all.

The next thing that should occur is "Service nodes confirmed available. Start transaction..." but it is never reached, as it is not shown.

It is one thing for people to come in and ask certain things from the devs, fair enough. Ask whatever. But to start demanding that they do
certain things is just plain ridiculous. Especially if it may involve their private lives. The devs can do whatever they like.
The devs have put in alot of hard work to bring things to what they are with supercoin. They delivered, I actually thought that they would be
late, which I wouldn't have been bothered about anyway.

People get so upset that the market didn't go sky high so they have it in their heads that particular things will bring about a certain market
response, well, maybe it will, maybe it won't.
If you cant handle the way particular things are, sell out and and that's fine. Your decision to buy, and to sell.

If you can't afford to lose every penny, of every coin you have put money into, whether this one, bitcoin or any other fanciful coin out there,
then get out, your in the wrong place.

Need help using supersend

I have tried to use supersend to send a small amount to exchange to see how it works.
I ticked the supersend box, entered amount and address, pressed send then it asks for password, did that then nothing seemed to happen. The "S" indicator went yellow for awhile but the fund didn't withdraw from my balance and nothing was transfered.
I have done this twice with same results.
Why isn't it working?
What am I doing wrong?
and whats the "input" button for. It says automatically selected?

Well I have now tried many more times, with also the wallet unlocked and have found that I can't get supersend to work.
Always the "S" indicator goes from green to yellow for a little while, there are 6 anonymous service nodes available.
I am only trying to send small amount of coins to exchange but no coins are withdrawn from my balance and none are sent.
It's just not working. It doesn't work.

Wouldn't it be useful to use facebook alot more for sharing information about supercoin. It's use with supercoin seems very limited.
191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SUPERCOIN]First P2p Decentralized Trustless Anonymous Wallet DOWNLOAD NOW on: August 26, 2014, 01:47:45 AM
too bad that the price drops this much. Why should that be?

Yes it's pretty silly. Whoever is selling right now is clearly trying to manipulate the market. There is no other reason to sell at such a low value after days of great news and great releases, especially when it's almost certain this is going to climb quite high in value. I think people with certain interests in mind are trying to keep the price low to scare away others.

If you believe in Supercoin, believe in the technology and the developers, hold your coins, the price will adjust accordingly. Smiley

Yes,I noticed this before as many sell orders were being placed during the lead up to the new release. People were either trying to make a quick profit, or trying to suppress the price from a sudden rise. Now, because of where many of these sell orders were being placed it didn't look like they would be making much from it unless they brought real cheap, so it lead me to the possibility that there's someone, or group quite worried about the rise of this coin.
You would think they will run out of ammunition  sooner or latter. Then again, maybe people who brought up large amount of coins are just trying to recoup some of their initial outlay.

192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SUPERCOIN]First P2p Decentralized Trustless Anonymous Wallet DOWNLOAD NOW on: August 25, 2014, 10:34:24 AM

Firstly well done on the release, it's great to see the beginning of this new era of coin technology.

I have a question regarding client shutting down in yellow state.

Just reading the instructions I have noticed that you have said that - "Please DO NOT quit the client while it is in yellow state; you may lose coins this way."

What if the computer just shuts down due to power failure or something else out of the operators control, or you just don't notice it, and close the wallet?

Firstly shouldn't there be some sort of fail safe so that it's not shut down by accident at least until the transaction is complete?

Now I know that this may not happen but is a possibility. And say, due to power failure for example, how many coins can be lost this way, what exactly is at risk.

1. If you are the sender?  or,  2. Just acting as a service node?

If you leave the wallet on to act as a service node and during a transaction its working on the computer just shuts down or internet connection is lost, what am I risking?

193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SUPERCOIN]First P2p Decentralized Trustless Anonymous Wallet New Thread on: August 24, 2014, 08:50:26 AM

It seems that someone or somepeople have been steadly building up sell orders. Are they just tring to make some cash, some orders just don't look
high enough to make much, or are they trying to limit any upward movement?
Are there some out there really worried about the development of this coin?

By the way, for the 5th time in 1 week I am explaining to someone (different) how to put the "conf file" in the AppData/Roaming/Supercoin.

The guy has created many websites and is very good with computers.

This REALLY needs to be fixed, I don't know if supercointeam and supercoindev is taking this matter seriously but this is very important.

You are making yourselves a lot of angry customers with that.

EDIT: Angry customers, including me who wasted has 5 hours of my life on 5 different person trying to explain YOUR stuff.

I tried to emphasis this with them the last time you brought it up.

I don't think that they understand how important it is that the downloaded wallet should work as is, without any moving of files (Conf. file in this case).

If this coin is to work they have to sort this out, They really should have worked out a way to make this work by now.

They want to do all this advertising and get more people to become involved, and as soon as someone new downloads the wallet they are lost and problems start.

This problem has to be fixed, there is no choice, it has to be addressed quickly. It has to be made to work without any extra messing with files.

This coin is for anyone and everyone, not just tech heads. Please work away around this problem.

195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SUPERCOIN]First P2p Decentralized Trustless Anonymous Wallet New Thread on: August 20, 2014, 07:05:02 AM

I,m quite sure the main reason for the resent drop in the price of Supercoin was directly caused by the thread started labelled -
supercoin is fundamentally broken

Stated in the thread is
"this thread was started because you have idiots in your community that picked a stupid fight against the XC community (which is 10x larger than Super's) and spread FUD about our coin and  this thread was more of a retaliation."

When this thread was most active, the price started dropping hard, which shows that some people believed instantly what was said there. Which shows how easily people can be caused to sell off through being scared that something was wrong.

For others it has been a great buying opportunity.

There is no need to be insecure about this coin. Just look at what is being accomplished. And as with any altcoin only put into it what you can afford to lose as all altcoins are a high risk. And with high risk, it can also equal high reward.

Supercoin has much to offer, and like I have said before I expect all this trading to look like a flat line on future exchange graphs.

The anonymous decentralization, and the speed is of great importance, as the tech becomes more understood, and if all goes well as it seems to be then the sky is literally the limit.

I mean this coin is trading for 1 or 2 cents each. Think about it.

XC has a big fud team, they tried nasty ways against supercoin, because someone pointed out their claims of multisig is not true and praised supercoin tech (they actually never saw their own XC multisig address before - see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=742025.0). supercoin dev team is not related to this at all.

The unfortunate thing is that the fuds seem working, and many people don't understand the technologies believed their fuds. But truth is truth, people will understand the value and this new multisig technology and how significant it is.

They admitted what they done and why. Leave others alone then they have less reason to bother with Supercoin. When Supercoin is more established attacks on the coin won't have the same effect.

AppData\Roaming\SuperCoin

shows no results to my friend on windows who try to download the wallet?

When they open the wallet for the first time supercoin folder will be created in

C:\Users\ProfileName\AppData\Roaming\SuperCoin

or C:\Documents and Settings\ProfileName\AppData\Roaming\Supercoin

After first opening the wallet close it ,copy conf file to path above and run the wallet again

Yes it would be nice if Dev could implement nodes to the wallet code for non tech users Wink

Thanks for support, we will consider this in the future.

This is a bigger problem than I think you realize.
I would like to advise you not to just consider it, but fix it, and fix it fast.
I had the same problem when I first started, and it's a problem I could of done without.
This coin like any out there should be developed for the easiest possible way of use if it wants to succeed. No one wants to have to do anything to set it up, especially moving files around.
Make it idiot proof for this problem, and any other aspect of the wallet, so anyone can download it and use it fast and easy.

It's good to see that things are going well in testing, well done to all involved especially dev. Great work.

Hello all,

I don't mean any disrespect to the dev's or community here,
But  I think Mammothcoin is a ridiculous name for monetary value, and I think you should change it if you want anyone to take you seriously, and if you want to support animal rights just have it as a side thing.

This is all about serious monetary exchange, not animal things.

Anyway that's what I think.

@if changing name will help yes we can do that but i wonder whats the difference between doge coin or cat coin or mammoth coin
if you think mammoth is death animal we can better promote animal rights because its a lost beauty, we miss it and we can not find it anymore, if we keep rape animal rights this is what is going to happen no more animals on earth, includes human race
animal rights also gurantee human rights if animals respected enough. We can live in this planet peacefully, These are my poor ideas we can of course enchange it to the level of perfection.

I completely respect your concerns for animals and for the human race.
You put this coin together and its your ball game. I admire your bringing your concerns and tech together in the way you are thinking.

when I look at these coins as I have stated on the old supercoin thread, to me its simply (S.A.S) Security, Anonymity, and Speed (S.A.S. being my little fun pun kinda thing).

But when people are transferring money or what supposed to represent money they are not thinking about animal rights they just want the job of monetary transfer to be done. That's the job of a coin, its exchange of one thing for another with a fungible asset. If people recognize this coin as such then it will have more success. If they don't then not so.

If I'm buying something with my money. I'm not thinking about how many animals I'm saving (although it might be nice to), I'm thinking that the exchange happens and I get my goods I ordered without any problems.

As far as dogecoin goes I never brought into it for 2 reasons,
1. there are to many of them.
2. It sounded like a joke and i considered it a joke.
I think they done some great marketing and that was it.

It takes all things to come together to make something great.
These things are up in the air and who knows what will happen, I just try to tick as many boxes as possible.

I brought a few mammothcoins because of the supersend tech behind it, but only for that reason. Then when I got to know about the animal connection it was nice, but not why I brought some. It was the tech and only the tech.

Now noticing that a name change is a possibility, I think just try and make it a better name and not just change for the sake of something different. Otherwise it would be best to leave it asis.

I think as has been suggested maybe something of a technical sound. And or related to money and/or a relationship to the actual tech of the coin itself.

Don't try and rush it and be really sure yourself and community are happy about it.

A high energy video showing and explaining what Supercoin is all about, and what it can do, would indeed be Super for Supercoin.
