21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SKY] Skycoin Launch Announcement on: April 27, 2017, 06:55:26 AM
With the distribution model that has been proposed here for skycoin who makes the money of coins when they are sold at various times???
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SKY] Skycoin Launch Announcement on: March 26, 2017, 03:54:03 PM
never been able to get skycoin to work and still cant, starting to think there is something not quite right here

Did you try downloading the wallet from the website?

Did you try downloading and running it from source?

We have fixed many wallet bugs, but Electron still has bugs in it. Some web browsers have trouble with Angular 2.0 web apps too.

I had the same problem. I finally fixed it by uninstalling and removing the Windows application data for Skycoin, and doing a clean install. Now it works great.

I'm really looking forward to the Software Defined Network rollout (love that term).

Thanks for the help.
I deleted skycoin but still files left in 2 areas I can find being .skycoin with the wallet and stuff in it and app data - roaming -Skycoin with other things in it.
Should I just try and delete everything and instal the none electron client?

"GameCredits has been in development for 2-3 years, as far as I know the smart contract tech on Ethereum didn't exist when it started"
I'm just wondering if this may be one of the biggest problems. and
" Also worth noting is there was no ICO, they self-funded with around $2 million.  GameCredits have developed an API allowing for game developers to use GameCredits for in-game payments."  The need to continue building on old tech to be fair to initial considerations.
It ends up being the way you had to do it, and not necessary the best way so now mobile go comes along to try to make up the shortfall and keep relevent in an ever changeing environment.

So at the end of the day whats to stop an overall better designed system to come along and do the job better and leave you way behind because of the way you have you have HAD to develope. What makes you the place that gamers and game developer will come back to?

Is the historic way that you have developed now become obsolete and mobile go is your effort to combat this and is in effect just a patch that will not last to long???

Thanks.
Ok so you totally misunderstand something here. First of all, GameCredits tech is NOT OUTDATED AT ALL. We're by far the most advanced gaming currency out there, and the only one that has tested products already out on the market and used by thousands of normal gamers. GameCredits was ONLY MEANT to ever be an in-game currency and payment solution for the gaming industry. It serves its' purpose like no other coin could, and development is LITERALLY YEARS ahead of competitors. In less than a month the coin launches as the primary form of payment in the first ever cryptocurrency based Mobile Store, (The GameCredits Store). In the store, gamers can find gamecredits just by playing their games, earn discounts, play in sponsored tournaments and win GAME, and use one single currency for EVERY SINGLE game on the store. These benefits are entirely unique, and no one comes close to our stage in development.

We didn't continue developing with GAME because we "had to be fair to our initial investors", we kept developing with GAME because it's an incredibly fast currency, with a healthy blockchain designed to handle millions of micro transactions, and has an incredible community supporting it. As an in-game currency it's absolutely perfect. Hypothetically we could add smart contract capabilities to GAME with some intense reworking and agreements from our community, however we realized this was an awful idea. Why bring on these capabilities and perhaps jeopardize gamecredits ability to act so was as an in-game currency for smart contract technologies that aren't pertinent to what GAME does? Instead, why don't we create a new coin that will be specifically designed for several decentralized solutions using smart contracts, and isolate what each does so we remain the best in both categories. I can assure you any competitor who tries to do everything under one roof will only complicate their token.

Also, running MobileGo means creating an immense marketing fund that will be used for acquiring millions of gamers to our mobile store, where gamecredits, once again, is the only cryptocurrency for in-game payments. MobileGo is not necessary to continue bringing GameCredits to the world as the best form of in-game payment. However, it will allow us to scale much quicker, develop faster before anyone can come close to catching up, and also provide those decentralized (yet arguably smaller) benefits to the Mobile Store.

Thank you for your explanation as to the reasoning and  relevence of game credits and moblie go. It is very interesting to see the developement of this gaming environment and  this means of exchange for game credits and and mobile go. It will be very interesting to see how things develop. It sounds like you are very much on top of what is needed in the gaming environment and have taken into account these considerations along the way of your development path. Let see where it leads. Again thank you for help in understanding what you have done. All the best

1/ why can't the whole game credits be run on smart contract like mobile go?, All in one, Is the pow blockchain game credits, and the smart contract mobile go really necessary??
2/ Is pow really necessary can't mining be part pos and pow combined, pow is shown to be alot of wasted resources, so therefore is it the best way forward? and there may be a better way of mining so those with game cards can mine more efficiently and realisticly earn rewards.

Seems like you started with old tech then put new tech on top of it to make up for what the old tech couldn't handle. Wouldn't it have just been better to start up on completely new tech archetecture and build on it.

I have installed the latest wallet with electron and it runs but nothing seems to happen, it doesn't look like it is connecting to anything. Is there anything that needs to be done once it is started?
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SKY] Skycoin Launch Announcement on: February 24, 2017, 04:41:03 AM
This is very expensive at $.60 per coin. Does it have to be so expensive for such a new release coin?
How does purchasing work at C2CX. Does each purchase provide the amount of coins purchased at a single address which can then be copied into wallet or can you send them over the network to wallet? Some simple tutorial would be good to get started, some simple short video.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: SUPERCOIN'S REVIVAL on: January 28, 2017, 01:51:42 PM
Would be good to come up with some forward resolution to this coin as I always considered it a unique method of transaction which could still be refined and developed.
I was even wondering if it could be piggie backed onto ethereum somehow.

I have followed this coin for a long time and after watching what happened early on I could see that without a doubt that it got other more established coins that was worth alot more so worried that they made a conserted effort to try to put this coin down as much as possible, which spoke volumes of its potential, and as it turns out they have succeded at least up untill now.

If anyone out there has the skills and can have a fair understanding of the possiblities that could be put forward and has a feasible reality of any potential that the underlying method of transaction could bring about the future use of this coin I think it should be brought forward now before this is forgotten forever. Which would be a great pitty.
Alot of advancements have occured since which has to be ballanced against any futher development. Probably only a skilled developer with the relevent understanding could decide if its worth the effort, or just let it be.

Would be good to here some fair analysis.

33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: October 22, 2016, 01:29:34 PM
Thinking about the future value of the coin and the obvious became apparent.

Why should maid safe be worth anything when there are to be four thousand million coins available? (I consider this a serious coin, BUT thats FOUR THOUSAND MILLION) That is alot of coin in the cryptosphere. (And more so in RELATION to other serious coins, its a standout oversupply of coins).

It is obviously a ridiculous amount of coins to have in circulation for a crypto whatever the foundation of the coin is.
And as a crypto can be broken down to so many decimal places it also is an irrational amout of supply.

I think whoever decided on this amount of coins has made a mistake if trying to creating standout value for the coin. If there is too much of something the value is always lessened by that degree. You want to try and explain how I can get it so wrong?

Don't get me wrong as I really like what is happeneng here but if everythng goes well, and is succesfull, how can there be value in it if there are so many coins in circulation?
It seems unlikely that this coin will be ranging in any high numbers, Is that intentional?

You are welcome to explain as indepth as you may, because I don't think I see it as you do.

34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: October 15, 2016, 01:57:03 PM
I think there is a big problem at the moment with this maid/safecoin and that is that there is no spacific wallet application that the coins can be stored in.
I have a few coins but not being able to place them in a wallet is a big problem and prevents me from buying more. Now you might say use the bitcoin method which I don't understand or care to becouse I don't want to relate one coin with another and being suseptable to another network.
You should make a spacific wallet to store the coins in as soon as possible, not having this is rediculas to say the least. It should have been done before any trading was allowed.
Please sort this out. I would consider you would have far more investment into the coin when you do this.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: October 10, 2016, 07:35:56 AM
They are taking way to long to update the Ethereum wallet to counter these attacks that slow your computer.
Way to many problems.
These continued attacks and the inability to stop them and the extremely slow wallet update to counter the attacks are not good for Ethereum.
The price is going nowhere fast untill they start properly addressing these issues to say the least.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SKY] Skycoin Launch Announcement on: October 07, 2016, 07:53:25 AM
Skycoin,

Please just make it easy to purchase at a reasonable price as I have been wanting to get some for years but unable.

I think you should do a release of coins at the same price as original for the people who have been on this forum because some have been unable to accuire any and have been waiting and waiting.

Please create an easy method to purchase. If you had done this already I think you would have sold many coins to people like myself.

There is no problem to be solved this is an Ethereum thread for Ethereum discussion.
Exactly. What are doing here? Why do you post all that crap here?
You support the bailout mutant. That is why you should create your own thread for the cloned Ethereum and post there as much pump crap as you like.

Read the title of the thread! Please don't post all that sh!t here. This thread is for ETHEREUM - the same one that was from the very beginning!

The only crap that is posted here is from yourself and the like.
You have shown that you will post crap no matter what is occurring as long as it is to try to cause problems with Ethereum whether before or after the fork. You take whatever you can and come up with garbage. On the most part I never bother with the crap thats posted under your name title. The stuff you post is usually utter garbage not worth any kind of response.

ETH is not viable, the first definition of a blockchain is immutability otherwise it's just a database.

ETC is not viable because it is supported by thieves for thieves.  Any blockchain that allows the easy theft of it currency is doomed because there are a limited number of victims.

Then why are you so worried about it that you cannot resist coming into this forum and posting all of your trash?

Hey stupid, this is the ETH forum and I am here to keep up with ETH not ETC.  I am in the right place.  You have a forum for ETC, even if its only visited by you and your aliases.  But as long as you are here pushing ETC with your various aliases I feel obligated to warn any newcomers that your nonsense is in support of thieves and villains.  So I say again, ETC i s supported by thieves for thieves.

It is very obvious there are posters on this forum that are hell bent on continuing to put Ethereum down anyway possible. They are not here to simple discuss things related to Ethereum. They can easily go to or create their own thread. These posters are going out of their way on purpose. This shows their malice. The arguments they bring up are so ridiculous, implausible, historical contradictory, and without any kind of credibility that they are not worth the time to bother about replying to. This may very well be the continuous co-ordinated effort by very few to try to keep etc alive in all ways possible. They are trying anything and everything.

The simple consideration that they could be trying to build there own community in there own space getting on with their own thing instead of doing this shows the psychology intent behind them and what they are all about.

The way things have and are historically playing out, continually enforces that the hackers and now any affiliates have alot to lose in this, and their whole world will be to extract as much out of this as possible. They are dealing with life changing amounts of money for themselves. Coupled to some peoples want to destroy Ethereum that will only be allayed by them trying to take control of it.

The posters here continuing to post etc related garbage are showing themselves as the cryptoscum that they are and with every post shows the power that ethereum really is and has been and how much of a threat it has been to them. They have inadvertently highlighted to me and many others that they are running scared with every post.

excuse me? why do you expect this thread to be your inheritage ?
ETH and ETC are both offsprings of former Ethereum.
so every ETC suporter has the right to be here just like every ETH suporter has.

ETC and ETH holders didnt create this situation its the devs that did the fork. now this is the outcome. live with it.

and like bitbob said and asked for . if vitalik closes this thread the problem would be solved.

The fact that you said "and like bitbob said and asked for . if vitalik closes this thread the problem would be solved. "
There is no problem to be solved this is an Ethereum thread for Ethereum discussion. Ethereum is in its developmental infancy.
You show yourself for what you are.
