181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Understanding the Impact of Social Media in Gambling. on: April 21, 2024, 06:33:11 AM
I think these influencers must know their target audience before accepting the offer or should not be included in their blogs or videos?
This is common in my country. They do not care than the money the gambling site they are advertising for will pay them.

YouTube is not better but there are local channels in my country that you will see gambling site advertising which is worse.

Recently I was passing through the bank road in my town, I saw a sign board of 1xbet. Did you know how many under age that would have seen it. The problem goes to government negligence.
182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Runes push fees as high as 900/vbyte or $196 US on: April 20, 2024, 06:00:06 PM
Why are we allowing this?

I would like to start a group who advocates for Bitcoin as it was intended.  Is anyone interested?
Mining reward will decrease over time and will gradually and fully be replaced by transaction fee. That is the reason this should be allowed. But bitcoin developers are sleeping to make bitcoin transaction to remain at 1 to 10 sat/vbyte. We need bitcoin developers to make a proposal that will benefit the future of bitcoin in regards to transaction fee.
183  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: No gambling today due to bitcoin high transaction fee. on: April 20, 2024, 01:43:40 PM
If you look at https://mempool.emzy.de/, the current transaction fee is  over $50 but in the past few hours it was over $100... So if you are a gambler who doesn't gamble that much like your range is only $10 to $100, it's impossible you will choose to gamble today with that very high fees.

This is only for gamblers who use bitcoin as the payment method, how is going today? Who among us here can still afford to gamble?
It went as high as $190 but let us expect there will be less congestion but I saw some people talking about rune which may also cause the congestion.

I can not afford that. I can not even afford $5 as transaction fee when I have alternatives. Most casinos and other gambling sites are accepting not only bitcoin.

Bitcoin developers are sleeping.

It will be good to see casinos that will accept lightning network. It will make this easier.
184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can people still get the addictive nature through friendly games on: April 20, 2024, 07:12:50 AM
So am just curious to know if these little games are the one's that got to him or already developed such habit and to know if possible that the practice will continue elsewhere after leaving there when he lost the money and to look for means through gambling to recover it.
It is not that they are gambling often. This is not how gambling with friends work. Although I can not do it but those that have done it that I know do not look for ways to recover the losses after the game is already over that day. He will consider he has lost and nothing will be more than that. You have done your part by ending the game. The way it is for those online casinos is different as a gambler that lost yesterday may still think today to recover yesterday losses.
185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Everyone is celebrating about the fourth halving but what is this? on: April 20, 2024, 12:39:40 AM
The fee has gone up too much. Is this how blocks mined immediately after halving would be?

Despite the reduction in block reward, block mined are more with transaction fee. The total reward for block 840000 is 40.75 BTC.

186  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Casino Game Has the Best Odds? on: April 19, 2024, 09:21:11 PM
One thing is that the higher the odd the harder it is to win. There are no two reasons I visit casinos than to play my lovely roulette. You can not understand, I love roulettes. The higher the odd, the less the number range and the higher you can lose. Sometimes I also play dice and their odds to probability to win or lose are similar. I love the game that I can play and feel relaxed and enjoying it. Using high amount of money will not make you enjoy it.
187  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [1 to 3 days] a long running game good or bad? on: April 19, 2024, 07:41:07 PM
Over 0.5 is itf low odd. Why not take over 1.5 and reduce the matches that you will accumulate. I can not forget the day I accumulated almost 10 matches with over and over 0.5 and 1.5. Over 1.5 was almost all the matches that I staked and I won all the over 1.5 but lost only one over 0.5. It is not worth it to go for such low odd.

I remember the day that I accumulated 30 matches, I lost 3.
188  Economy / Speculation / Re: Iran strikes Israel. Crypto crashing heavily... on: April 19, 2024, 02:31:27 PM
That was a fake news that funny enough all the big names like BBC, ABC-news, WSJ, etc. ran with.
Apparently journalism is dead and we only have FUDism these days Cheesy
The US said Iran has been attacked by Israel. Israel has said nothing yet about the attack. Iran is talking about explosive that no damage was done and they are investigating what it is or something. It is confusing and I believe in what you said. I do not think there is any aiming attack at all. But what I just also think is that the journalists will first believe in what US said but later the truth might be known.

Not sure if this is true, but if it then why the price of Bitcoin goes up to now $65k? Is this due to the incoming halving, or the war itself has nothing to do with our market but it's that the news was just in the background and no one can stop Bitcoin from increasing pre-halving?
What I noticed is that bitcoin does not want to drop below $60000. There has been a very strong resistance around that price. I even think some people that are selling are buying back around the price.
189  Economy / Speculation / Re: Iran strikes Israel. Crypto crashing heavily... on: April 19, 2024, 07:22:12 AM
There was a report that Israel has striked back.

Share Message - Israel-Iran live updates: Israeli missile has struck Iran, US officials say - BBC News
https://www.bbc.com/news/live/world-middle-east-68830092

Bitcoin again after the news decreased below $60000. But in the last 45 minutes, bitcoin increased above $65000. Presently at $64320.
190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: WORRIED ABOUT ACCOUNT FREEZE? EXCHANGE USDT WITH PEACE OF MIND ON LOCALDT.COM on: April 19, 2024, 07:13:44 AM
Scam

Your site was created just less than 7 months ago. You come to this forum to scam with your scam instant exchange. You have no history of advertising and something like that which legit businesses will prefer to go for. Scammers will not prefer to go for advertisement but prefer to use words that will encourage people to easily become their victim. Just like what I saw on your site:

Quote
Zero Fees
On LocalDT ZERO means ZERO. No transaction fees, no deposit fees, or no Commission. Exchange USDT into your local currency at ZERO FEES. Get 100% of exchange value in your account, without any hidden charges of deduction.

Quote
Referral Bonus
Earn referral bonus for up to 3 Level. When users who have signed up using your referral code trades on LocalDT, you get rewards in USDT and can withdraw it without and any additional conditions to meet. It’s that simple!

If you do not charge any fee, how are you making money from the exchange and also how are you able to pay the referral bonuses? Referral bonus is commonly used by scammers in this way to let more people fall victim of a scam like this.

192  Other / Meta / Re: Why is merit not common on trading discussion board on: April 18, 2024, 08:11:56 PM
Suggestion
- a frequent high ranking user on the merit board can apply to being a merit sources
- if you think a post deserves to merited, there are threads that you can submit them to like the one by fillippone.
I like your first suggestion, but I do not like the second. The moment I got 1000 merits, I have never thought of posting on a board to request for merit for my quality posts. I think the people that do that are newbies and those that are not yet legendary.

The reason is simple, the technical board have more quality post than the Trading discussion section of the forum where people are merely recycling information copied from different website in the name of technical analysis. Besides, to contribute in the technical board, you must be knowledgeable about what you are posting, and that is the reason you see less spamming there. There may be other reason but these are just my observation.
You are not right about this. I do not search for the information I am providing on the trading discussion. I remember when I was posting very well on exchanges board, I was given merit easily there but unlike trading discussion. This has been over 4 years I know about exchanges and crypto trading. I know some good guys also on trading discussion with good posts. I do not say technical board posters are not good but do not undermine trading discussion board posters also. I am not talking about spamming, I am talking about posts that are worth to be given merit.
193  Other / Meta / Why is merit not common on trading discussion board on: April 18, 2024, 07:36:43 PM
I have noticed that someone will ask question on trading discussion, you will give answer but your post will not be given any merit. Sometimes like 1 out of 20 or 30 or more, you will only be given just 1 merit. If it is technical board, any useful answer will be bombarded with merits.

Is there no partiality in merit giving and receiving?
194  Economy / Exchanges / Re: In what cases does Binance asks for source of funds ? on: April 18, 2024, 07:08:09 PM
Tainted coins. Coins linked to illegal activities. Coins linked to illegal drugs and the likes.

But one thing about life is that some of the coins can find its way to innocent people and the exchange do not care but will block the person not to withdraw or even block the person account and ask for source of fund.
195  Economy / Economics / Re: Which country proposed the establishment of BRICS? on: April 18, 2024, 04:34:34 PM
I mean among the four countries, which one among them brought up the offer. Which I guessed to either be China or Russia.
No, this was not how BRICS was formed, it was neither China or Russia that came up with the idea, they weren't even the ones that came up with that acronym. From what i could garner online, it was Jim O'Neill, a Goldman Sachs economist that came up with the acronym BRIC, he used it to recognize four countries with very fast growing economies that (according to him), could rival the economic powerhouses like the U.S and others from the West.

These four countries found the idea interesting and decided to make a group from it, South Africa later joined them and it became BRICS.
I do not agree with you. Jim O'Neill did not proposed the establishment of BRIC, although he coined it. There is something the internet is not telling you about how BRICS was formed. It is possible that either China or Russia saw it as an advantage to reduced the economic power and sanction effect of the United States used it as an opportunity.

I found this about BRICS:

The organization seeks to deepen economic cooperation between the member countries and stand in contrast to the Western sphere of power.

BRICS sees itself as countering the traditional Western-led global order, with some member states viewing the organization as a way to boost their influence around the world.

China and Russia among the countries that joined can mostly have this motive, while others will instead have other motives that can help the economy of their countries. Another country that is among them that I think can have such motive is Iran but the country join in 2024 or so.

This is not about reality and not only what is read on the news or Internet.
196  Economy / Gambling / Re: Is it possible for Liverpool to qualify today? on: April 18, 2024, 02:48:26 PM
Good analysis.

The first match between the two clubs was dominated by Liverpool by 70%  ball possession but Atalanta still later won with 3 goals to zero. It is true that with their head-to-head, the away team always win between these two clubs. But just only three matches that have been played between the two clubs before. Some people may choose Liverpool to win with handicap of 2-0 or 3-0 which have  higher odds. Atlanta may want to become tough this time to change the whole thing in a way that Liverpool may win but in a way that Atalanta will qualify. What I just know more is that Liverpool might win.
197  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The Illusion of Trading Success on: April 18, 2024, 12:02:45 PM
Many are teachers only few are traders. They make their money from selling trading courses, teaching trading classes, creating trading contents for YouTube and other social media. They have their own trading podcasts and collaborate with people like them to talk about trading yet, they have never been successful at trading.
That is trading. It is easy to learn and teach but it is hard to make money with it. They have the knowledge to teach after they learn and they turn it into profit. But if you tell them to trade, do not be surprised if they lost.

You'll see them on Instagram or WhatsApp posting many signals, doing adverts for their VIP exclusive signal groups. Their appearance of wealth has nothing to do with their profits from trading and trading performance but from their courses sold and YouTube ads.
I see this as scam.

You ask yourself why don't they stop all these bs and just go back to real trading and you will immediately answer yourself that trading is hard work. It is easier to make reliable income streams from acting like a trader than actually in active trading where the market is volatile. It is easier to build a personal brand and audience in the short term than it is for achieving trading profits.
I can not agree more, you are very right about this.

I do not like these people because, to me they are scammers. I have never seen anyone who follow them that eventually became a successful trader.
But teaching about trading is not scam. But you have to let your student knows that trading is risky and that you are only teaching them the basics.
198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever Projected how to spend gambling profits while the game has not played yet? on: April 18, 2024, 11:18:33 AM
You mean he won and used all the money to gamble and later lost all? That is gambling. Or you mean that he staked a bet and thinking he is going to win and told you that? That is not wise at all. Or maybe he staked parsley and have won almost all but the last matches or match messed things up for him.

Even if a friend tells me that he is going to pay for everything when we hangout or in a bar, I make sure that I have enough money with me in case of any disappointment.
199  Economy / Economics / Re: Which country proposed the establishment of BRICS? on: April 18, 2024, 10:05:36 AM
It was originally just BRIC. So that was Brazil, Russia, India, and China that came up with it. It might not have been plainly dedollarization that they're seeking, but it's definitely part of it. The group was basically created to challenge the global status quo, to challenge the reins of power which are basically in the hands of the US and its western allies.
I know that the organisation was started by Brazil, Russia, India, and China before it later become BRICS when South Africa joined. But that is not what I am asking. I mean among the four countries, which one among them brought up the offer. Which I guessed to either be China or Russia.

But it isn't the case with the new members of BRICS like Ethiopia and Egypt. What do they have? They've got nothing. They're joining with the hope of receiving grants and loans, which are actually traps.
Egypt is the second largest economy in Africa while Ethiopia is the fifth. But you are right that they have small economy if compared with countries like China, India and Russia but they are comparable with South Africa, especially Egypt.
200  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin’s bull run coming to an end? on: April 18, 2024, 09:54:21 AM
Right now it's $61,239 so maybe we will be expecting more dips if this is the beginning of the correction which is quite natural in the nature of Bitcoin. Though I can be wrong here since we don't really know the accurate guess on where and how deep or high Bitcoin could go.
Bitcoin is still having a great support at $60000. But if it stay low like this for long, it is possible that the support will be broken. I still think the fall can not be significant and in some months to this time, another bull run will begin.

The declining might because of ETFs is no longer hyped, so it make the market went back it's place. Slight declining is still fine, most people are waiting on the Q4 because according to the few halving history, it's where the halving bull run will start.
It started when Iran sent missiles and rockets to Isreal but the price went above $66800 before falling again. If bitcoin is not going to $70000 for now, that means the ETF hype has died down already. But another bull run will still come. What that is just difficult to predict right now is if we are going to first see bear market before the coming bull market.
