It’s better to stick with bitcoin private because it’s the real bitcoin with privacy. Monero just a scam that will be banned because it’s only for criminals.

"Only by criminals"? That's an unprovable statement due to Monero's fungibility and excactly what you want in something the preports itself to be a digital cash. The very fact that you claim it's only for criminals is why i wouldn't touch anything you are shilling, you just don't understand why people want fungibility or why that's the real litmus test for a digital cash.

I saw a lot of people that dumped their IOTA coins in the last ocuple of weeks and I think this was the wrong decision. I will hold my coins because I expect some huge pumps because people will start to adopt IOTA!

"Sell the news," seems in play, and given that it will take years to implement Q fully (though I wonder how many get that it will be iterative, rather than one big release), most speculators will take their profits now and try to find the next news to sell on. This is pretty standard behavior for speculators as most are more worried about opportunity costs than the long term health of a project. It's a different mindset than investors, who usually average a price in and try take profits only as a project matures--though I wonder if some speculators are totally ignoring capitol gains tax and will be subject tax penalties later on.
Why not? Trading and speculation are not bad strategies. And it give more profit often than simple holding. If we say about alts. On the base coins it may not work. But I think I can to buy more IOTA dipper than now before Q

Other than commenting on the tax implications, I didn't say it was a bad strategy, just a different strategy. Perhaps my POV as an investor could be confused for having a negative opinion of speculating, but I have no problem with people doing whichever works best for them (or combination of the two)--part of being succesful is knowing who you are and what strategies work best with your personality and skill set.

187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: EOS or IOTA? on: June 05, 2018, 05:33:43 PM
I choose EOS. IOTA has nothing. And in this direction there are too many teams. EOS with their mistake made a giant ICO. But what made IOTA? Exclude very aggressive users in the reddit

I think has to do with partnerships with VW, Bosch and the UN, not reddit users.

I don't think you understand that centralizing network hash with ASICs is detrimental to network security.
I don't think you understanding anything about cryptocurrencies.

Have you heard about Bitcoin? It's the most secure crypto network, courtesy of ASICs.

It's scary that a decision so important was taken following a Reddit mob, or a secret committee of devs, with such a poor understanding of the matter.

Mining centralization hasn't made Bitcoin the most secure network, it's made it an easy target for China if they decide they want to disrupt the network--looking at hashing power in a vacuum is a pointless exercise as there are numerous factors that go into how secure a network is.

Also, the person you are addressing has forgotten more about cryptocurrencies than you know, or likely will ever know.

@ Generalizethis: what I your opinion about the release of today? Is qubic in line with your expectations?

Personally I think the news is great and I really hope that they can make a nice progress the upcoming months. Yet, most people on reddit seem to be a bit disappointed.

I think those that were expecting a release or some big partnership were disappointed. Not sure why the countdown video was so high production, but that seems why most inferred something bigger than a website outlining more about Q.  I didn't read anything into it and assumed the developers were telling the truth when they said that it would just outline more details, so I wasn't suprised and am happy to see where they are heading. I think once more technical details are revealed that most people will understand what the IF is trying to accomplish. Or not, it doesn't really matter long term as the goal is to make IOTA ubiquitous with the IOT, so most everyone using it will have no clue what it is or what it does.

I was upset with this coin today. I can not understand why the price so sharply went down. I hope that the coin will quickly recover.

Not sure what you are talking about--it went down ~5% after a week of gains. That's hardly sharp or upsetting.

IOTA exhibiting at VW's booth at CEBIT: https://www.cebit.de/exhibitor/volkswagen/G401247

CeBIT is the largest and most internationally representative computer expo. The trade fair is held each year on the Hanover fairground, the world's largest fairground, in Hanover, Germany. It is considered a barometer of current trends and a measure of the state of the art in information technology. It is organized by Deutsche Messe AG.[1]

With an exhibition area of roughly 450,000 m² (5 million ft²) and a peak attendance of 850,000 visitors during the dot-com boom, it is larger both in area and attendance than its Asian counterpart COMPUTEX and its no-longer held American equivalent COMDEX.

Iota is on a surge of prices this year due to the reason Iota tiep ups with Porsche and other prominent automatic industry

It's probably has more to with the new wallet as Porsche is owned by VW, which is a partner with IOTA, so not surprising--they've been experimenting with a few cryptos, so it's not that earth shattering that they are attending an IOTA presentation.

Can you post the link to the twitter tweet please? I could not find it on https://twitter.com/PorscheLab
Is it an older one? I checked the last two weeks of tweets. Thanks!
