181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 10, 2024, 12:58:13 PM
I was glad to see the Phoenix Suns signed Isaiah Thomas for the rest of the year. He got done so dirty in Boston, it would be great to see him win a ring before his playing days are over and it’s great the Suns management is giving him this opportunity. Maybe not enough to get them over the hump, but they did need a true point guard so it’s a great signing.
Indeed that's good news. But still, I want to see this guy play for like 10-15 minutes. Give him a test run and not just a reserve or a bench who can only play at garbage time. They still don't know if he can be an effective player when paired with Durant or Booker, he just needs that one break and maybe he can show us that his career ain't really over just yet.
The longest play time was 8 minutes and that's only because the Thunder blew out the Suns so it's actually garbage time, what about those times when they badly need a point guard who may be effective? I've seen Cam Payne back when he was a Suns given a try by Coach Monty and it was rewarding, but Coach Vogel seems to not have the same attitude when it comes to his bench.
I hope they can utilize him well. I haven't seen all the games of the Suns but I'm not seeing him in the game highlights, so that could  only mean one thing, he is not getting good minutes. If they sign him, that would give him a chance to play in the playoffs and with his experience, he will be useful for the team.

as we can see on his average with the sames, he played 5 games only, averaged of 3 minutes and had an average of 1 PPG... Not much, but I know he can still give more to the team, so maybe that's the reason why he was signed.

182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how do you think meme coinis? on: April 10, 2024, 09:17:42 AM
I often see meme coins on various platforms, do they really have potential? I’m not sure about their advantages, can you guys help me explain them?
When it comes to popularity, they already have it and also, they are profitable in short-term during hypes. But yes, not all of them are worth investing in because many of them are also scams and much more if we think holding them long-term.
 - don't buy them if you are just new and have no marker experience yet.
 - they are not meant for long-term investment. Therefore, you need to be smart enough not to choose them if you are into that goal.
 - too risky. Don't get into it if you are not a risk-taker, losing is way possible especially if you missed the hype.
183  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How far can BTC go before halving? on: April 09, 2024, 03:59:23 PM
BTC touched 72k awhile ago which means it's still bullish and may continue through the halving. If this happens; it will be a change in price trend compared to it's historical data.
BTC is usually a bit bearish after halving which I usually see as my last buying chance but it's obvious institutional interest may change it's price action this time around.

I could be wrong but do we think we are gonna experience the same repeated price trend?

The current situation could affect the mentality of the holders and would change their market approach. If we all still manage to hold longer and wait until the end of this year, probably we see the price of Bitcoin higher than today ( $90k $100k). But we can't assume that everyone will do this as we can't urge them to hold as well because in most cases, people are selling their BTC when it pumps. And this has a huge impact on the trend and possibly a price drop is the thing we experience.

How far? That remains uncertain and no way to know it no matter what we do. However, this won't change anything and our faith remains that there is a new ATH any of these days before or after halving.
184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 09, 2024, 12:23:47 PM
I think the Lakers purposely lost to Minnesota yesterday to give them the top seed in the West. It would be a bad start for any of the teams who will land in the 8th seed if they will play against the Denver. Both Warriors and the Lakers have not won against the Denver this season, so that means an early vacation for them LOL. Only the Kings stands a good chance against the Denver as they are 3-1 against the Denver. However, the playoffs has a different atmosphere and intensity, that doesn't mean the Kings can get an easy W against the defending champs.  Pelicans on the other end is 1-2 against the Denver, so again, It's not gonna be a good start for them if they land in any spot in 7th or 8th seed if they will play against the Nuggets.

What if with what they did the Lakers will end up at 7? I mean they would still have to face the Nuggets at that standing, and if they want a top 8, they need to beat the Warriors which is also another problem as that will be a do or die game. I think they really don't do that purposely, as much as possible gaining the top 6 will give them assurance that they'll be in the playoffs, so every game matters to them.

That would be tough for them as they'll be in a do or die situation, they can't go with the Warriors as this team although have struggled in the season is a championship team. They had become more dangerous now as they are healthy of course without Kuminga but last season Kuminga not really utilized that much.

But speaking of Kuminga, there's a good news about him based on the latest update.

Warriors’ Jonathan Kuminga to return on Sunday vs. Jazz after missing six games

So with that, they'll be facing a healthy Warriors in the playoffs.
185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you depend on game predictions by supercomputers? on: April 09, 2024, 11:31:57 AM
Depend? it's not gonna happen, maybe it could help for some information but totally depending on it is a bad idea. Machine are made to make our job easy but it doesn't mean that there's no job to be done anymore and we keep winning. If we want to win, we need to grind, we need to be smart and beat the casino using a skilled based games as there's no other games that are possible in achieving success in gambling.
186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin to the common man. on: April 09, 2024, 06:53:54 AM
So by looking at situations like this we actually don't need to be strange and don't need to ask the reasons for other people who come out in a loss when in bitcoin because it happens because they are not too sure from the start and only enter because of fomo because they see bitcoin is quite tempting in profit but are not aware of the risk conditions that are actually in front of the eyes.

Basically it is not our responsibility to ask why they end up bad when investing.
But speaking of morals, we are obliged to tell them why they experienced losses when investing.
Confidence in investing will be formed when people understand how to do it correctly, that's why they need to learn first before investing. There is no loss if people invest based on knowledge because they can make decisions when investments are not going well. For example, when they invest at a slightly more expensive price, when bitcoin experiences a severe correction, all they need to do is wait for the increase process so they can avoid losses.
What they need is a piece of advice and courage but not the way we have to force them. Instead, we let them decide and manage themselves.
A lot of people heard about Bitcoin investment but many of them have a lack of interest due to a widespread scam issue making them doubt it. If we are a close-minded person, no matter how many advice and good news we hear about Bitcoin, never it happens we be able to appreciate it. That is why Bitcoin is not for everyone, not for those who have doubts and uncertainties, and much more for those who are afraid of taking risks.
187  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Wait for the right set-up on: April 08, 2024, 04:00:39 PM
People actually don't know how important it is to wait for the right set-up, some traders think that the more you trade the more money you make which is very much unlikely, trading doesn't work like that, you might make a lot of money from 5 to 7 trades, and use just only one trade to lose everything including your initial magin.

But waiting for the right set-up gives you an edge in the market, when you trade only when you sees an opportunity, you will mostly comes out profitable, as long as you knows the craft a little, but probing the market every now and then will only make you lose money, because trading is more of patience and knowledge.

You are actually right bro, waiting for an opportunity before entering into the market is One of the safest way to navigate your way in the market, because trading is just like hunting for a prey, you need a strategy if you must be successful, and patience is one key that a trade needs to be successful, because you are more likely to win a trade when you are certain of a particular set up, than entering when not that sure, am saying so because as a trader that I am, I have tested this strategy, and it's has work for me severally, the only challenge is patience, because the market is very enticing, you will feel like that moment you are not trading, you would have made a lot of money if you had entered the market, and it's actually the psychological aspect of trading in full display, so if you are discipline enough and you decide to wait, bro, you will be very glad at the end that you waited, because it will be worth.
Perhaps, there is a right to start in all things and that includes trading. Preparation is what we meant and it takes time to do it. Might some people think it unnecessary but that is far from their imagination because that is truly needed in trading. We can't trade unprepared, that is the thing we should put in our minds. We have to use those early trader's experiences as our mirror, most of them suffering major losses due to lack of knowledge and skill and most likely it happen to us if we behave the same. Unless we don't care about losing.
188  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A mistake you would surely regret on: April 08, 2024, 02:06:34 PM

Avoid rapid investment or aggressive investment by putting money in every project available, take your time to research and make informed decisions, it's better to have only 5 good coins in your portfolio than to have a 100 shit coins there.

Knowing more first before making a move or else, will give us an unacceptable end.
Many people are doing this, they invest in a project because someone (a known person or a friend) suggested it. This is very usual because we trust them but it should not be like that as we need to verify the potentiality and reliability of the project first prior to buying. These common mistakes will never happen if we keep thinking that a good investment comes from a good choice and research. Investing in a project blindly will never succeed instead, more on failure. We can't call ourselves an investor if we neglect to do research nor do we call ourselves smart.
189  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: April 08, 2024, 11:51:02 AM
SMB vs DYIP ( not an upset for sure..again)

They can't be lucky twice, but I'm concern on the spread of the game as for sure bookies will still make them a heavy underdog which could lead to a trap. The game vs Ginebra, it was -9.5, so against SMB who are still undefeated, that might be -11.5 or more, and when I see that kind of line, I would be betting on DYIP to cover, just to cover as I don't believe they can beat the SMB, unless they are too lucky.

We can't really predict the game easily, it has been tough nowadays in PBA as underdog keeps winning and since most of us really focus on the favorites thinking these farm teams will continue to tank, that is killing our bankroll, maybe we can change that kind of perception a bit.

Indeed, there's a unimagine basis on how bookies are bringing the handicap which most of the time leads gamblers to a misleading assumptions, though SMB might be too much and if ever that they will win this game probably if basing with the current stats they can underman the DYIP in all aspects, though that's also same with how Gin kings got but they've lost the game, again, tough call but risk needed to take when aiming for a better odds if you a fan of SMB.

Going to watch the live games and see if DYIP will perform chance that the odd will be change might give me a much better assessment, good luck to those who already place their bets.

That's a great strategy, we have to wait and see, if the DYIP are playing well then we can go and bet on them by taking the handicap. For sure we can still find a high handicap since in the pre game, spread will likely be +10, so +5 to +8 is still good as long as they are playing to compete.

I believe that DYIP now is very confident as they recently beat the Ginebra which is one of the top teams, this young team are playing like they aren't losing anything so the chemistry are improving. I can't wait for this, hopefully our expectations are not wrong.
We are not sure yet, maybe this young team are gonna slay the SMB teams. It's not impossible my friend, they have been working hard to win because of their bad past seasons, now that they started winning, we are still underestimating them. If you believe they'll lose and you bet on SMB with the spread, good luck to you mate.

How about the total? I'm thinking of betting on the over....

I like the over also, both teams love to shoot 3's and DYIP has been shooting pretty well, so we might witness a 3 point shootout.
190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 08, 2024, 11:17:31 AM
No Steph Curry, no Andrew Wiggins, no problem.

Klay Thompson in the first half and then Jonathan Kuminga in the second half. Both players are explosive today to win against the young undermanned Utah Jazz. Kuminga was out for 6 games and came back full of energy. Commentators thought he was going to be rusty but that's not the case. He is moving and doing what he is good at, attacking the paint, rebounding, and being a defensive player. That young guy sure has a good future ahead as long as he can keep up this kind of pace and I bet the Warriors will keep him for a long time.

Spreads on the hand were not covered. -10.5 was the starting spread and the garbage time messed it up. Ergh!

Slowly, Klay Thompson is having his shooting rhythm and that is a good sign for the Warriors. And Kuminga is out in their last couple of games and the good thing is that Wiggins is also back in his mentally that's why they are in winning streak just snap by the Mavs. And now that Kuminga is back, it's a balance attack from the Warriors and they are known to be a good home team. Solid 10th place for them now for a play-in. It's just who will the Warriors going to face. But it's more likely that it will be the Lakers who are also playing great in their last 10 games.

Good for him but it will be better if he can deliver every game. The thing is, he is still inconsistent until now.

@ dallas 16 points 7/17
Vs houston 29 points 7/11
vs dallas 14 points 5/14
@spurs 13 points 5/13
@ orlando 15 points 6/13

Only on the games vs houston and vs the Jazz where he scored 20+ points. And based on the last 5 games (excluding Jazz), Thompson seemed to struggle on road games scoring less than 20 points in average.
191  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling for fun and not a way of making money on: April 07, 2024, 10:53:38 AM
Remember, making a fortune overnight is a fairy tale for most of us. Gambling should be the spice, not the main course of your life. Life’s got plenty more to offer than the spin of a roulette wheel.
We gamble for what actually? I see them as form of making extra changes for our pockets. Gambling should never be considered as one of the enormous streams of making earnings, instead it should be regarded as recreational activity we get ourselves engaged for fun. Gambling comes with surprising results and we shouldn't be surprised, there's no how we will be having streak winnings, we're not the ones that controls the system and it's volatility will definitely rule out our plans.
The majority gamble with the aim of making more money. The majority had thought that this would make them rich when getting lucky. Unfortunately, that kind of thinking caused them to lose more rather than multiply their money.

Thinking of gambling as another stream of earning money is a scary thing. Indeed, we never know what will be the results of every bet we make that is we we never assume for winning or even losing. And that is the point of thinking that gambling is just for fun and entertainment, nothing else. And this is the fact that we need to understand before gambling and train our minds not to chase winnings instead of enjoying the moment.
192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do we really need to blame fraudsters on: April 07, 2024, 07:05:05 AM
We can blame them later right after blaming ourselves first.
In fact, fraud and scamming are not a new thing not only in the crypto space but also even in our local. But why do we still become a victim? That is a big question and nobody can answer that aside from ourselves. If we think blaming these fraudsters is a good idea and could stop them, I don't see it as reasonable because they just exist and survive due to our carelessness and ignorance.

If we can take care of ourselves and everyone does, I don't think they will be here. Unfortunately, not all, and this is because of our greed.
193  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Quick way to learn bitcoin trading on: April 06, 2024, 01:10:28 PM
I've just noticed why beginners are always asking for the fastest and easiest way of learning to trade. I don't think they are able to do simple research to find out about the reality of trading. Or, they are truly impatient and they don't need to wait long but rather instant. This is the mistake I've observed and many discussions talk like this. But I believe that our experience will help us teach what is trading all about or if can we really make it a shortcut.

If someone says there is an easy way to learn to trade - that won't buy our interest because that only ends up scamming. This is very rampant these days and those who ask for it will simply put them at risk.

194  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to handle emotions when you lose during trading. on: April 05, 2024, 02:21:51 PM
Honestly, it was hard to manage our emotions and keep it low when we already overthought that all of the trade calls would be closed into profit.
Our minds take control of everything we do and once it is already poisoned by our greed and too much market assumptions, it is certainly difficult to accept losses.

Of course, we can solve and help this issue if we stop behaving like we are perfect.
We can deal with our emotions if we know how to accept losses and understand the nature of the market. We can't change the volatility of the market, therefore, we have to always keep in mind that losing is not a terrible thing that may happen to us but it is an ordinary thing in a trader's life.
195  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't make your bets when you're tired on: April 05, 2024, 01:43:57 PM

We must always understand that if we do not meetup with our daily gambling routines does not mean we are missing our payments from the gambling sites hence we are not enrolled to the casino gambling that as long as we gambles we must get paid. So it was not something a "Do" and get paid or "Don't" and miss payment.
Unless, if we are heavily addicted to gambling.
But for us just a normal gambler, I don't think there is an urge to gamble/bet when we don't have enough time, strength, and focus. We don't need to gamble if we are not physically and mentally strong or else, we are just simply pushing ourselves to lose. Yes, a gambler must understand that we never go to jail if we fail to gamble and most of all, we never lose our reputation.

A responsible gambler knows what is good for them. They don't need to sacrifice their health just for their gambling habit as we are free whenever we want.
196  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin way forward - Towards $100k or $50k on: April 05, 2024, 11:35:40 AM
Corrections are not a new experience in the market even though we are in the bull season but don't get too quick to judge and say, we're going down because it dropped already, and never say we're going $100k because it pumps. The journey of Bitcoin is way forward but of course, not that fast and easy. We may hear people speculating too high like $100k, $150k, and $200k as a new ATH but none of us knows what is coming. Indeed, it was just a sort of market speculation and possibly be wrong no matter what.

Anyway, we enjoy speculating the market and we did based on what we see. The past events give us hints about where we are now but are not enough to tell us where we are going a few years from now.

197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why not try out a less popular but promising token? on: April 05, 2024, 10:42:24 AM
Perhaps, a lot of people have tried investing shitcoins and I was one of them but guess what, I/we only lost our money. Therefore, I don't think taking risks with them is worthy but it was just like we are throwing our money so scammers. If you are in search of making a profit here, it is for sure you invested in valuable coins. They are not popular because nobody had a chance to take a look at them but instead, ignored and rejected.

Those who have been in the crypto market for many years could really tell and identify which projects are worth investing in and which are not.
198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has BTC really become more attractive than gold? on: April 05, 2024, 08:16:02 AM
I would like to know your views on BTC and gold:
  • Are you investing in BTC or gold?
Investing in gold is risk free, but not as profitable as Bitcoin. Bitcoin is risky, but long-term holdings can be very profitable. I invested in bitcoin, gold investment is not for me. To buy gold one has to face various problems, one has to go to market or gold shop to buy gold. But I can buy Bitcoin from home. Also less money can't be invested in gold, but I can invest less money in Bitcoin. So I prefer to invest in bitcoins rather than gold.
That is your preference but to ask mate --are you 100% sure that Bitcoin will pump in the coming years? Not for sure and so I would say that investing in gold is a good alternative while also investing in Bitcoin. Just being said, don't put all your eggs in one basket. You may not be able to afford to buy gold for now because you are focused on Bitcoin but think about it also. At least, whatever happens to Bitcoin in the future, we never lose our entire money.
I invested in both of them and have peace of mind. I encourage you to do the same, might not know if you feel comfortable doing this.
199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does prediction in sport work for you? on: April 05, 2024, 07:35:19 AM
If you are interested in gambling on sports, do you rely on prediction betting sites? Why?

I used to do it but it does not mean that I will follow their suggestion as I still need to verify it by myself.
Well, I can say some of their predictions are right but some also are wrong. But we have to understand the fact that it is just a prediction and it was not guaranteed to be correct or even have a bigger chance of being right. That is why if we tend to use their prediction services, we also need to make our own. As a gambler, we bet on the possible winning bet rather than just being on the wild guess.
200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tim Tszyu - Seabastian Fundora For The WBC And WBO Super Welterweight March 30 on: April 05, 2024, 04:25:21 AM
I have it drawn in my scorecard, but it can either way, but both fighters deserve a rematch Fundora proves he is ready to become a champion.
Checking the poll I created no one among us voted for Fundora, so we can call this an upset?

Tim Tszyu by KO   - 8 (100%)
Tim Tszyu By Decision   - 0 (0%)
Fundora  By KO   - 0 (0%)
Fundora  By Decision   - 0 (0%)

The poll you made here only got 8 votes but all voted for Tszyu which was clearly the favorite. But more than your poll, this is an upset win for Fundora because Tszyu was a 1.17-favorite. He was expected to win this fight. His victory was predicted to be more than 85%. Fundora on the other hand got 5.00 odds.

But as we all know, the fight didn't really go smoothly. It's unfortunate that Tszyu had to suffer a cut early in the fight that wasn't caused by a legitimate punch from Fundora's. Although Fundora performed well with his jabs, the fact that Tszyu had to continue with the fight partially blind because of the cut from Fundora's elbow made a big difference.

It's good though that both fighters agreed for a rematch.

Definitely, that match up needs a rematch and let's hope next time it will not be bloody. I would also choose Fundora to win via upset but wasn't able to put my bet as I'm not really interested in this fight.Anyway, now that Fundora got a big win, he needs to continue his great game plan in the rematch, and if he still wins the fight, that would move him in a better situation as Tszyu could not deny another fight anymore, and therefore Fundora would have a chance for a unification fight if he choose to take a bigger risk.
