181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Iota is falling ? on: October 21, 2017, 02:25:10 PM
"why .... is falling" always has one answer. and that is because they are getting dumped. the reason for the dump is always different though but the dump is a part of altcoins and will always happen without any exceptions.

this time the dump is mostly because of bitcoin price rising and the fact that everyone is selling their altcons to get more bitcoin or cancelling their buy orders to keep the bitcoin.
and also it is partly because IOTA was pumped and it was in a bubble.
182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SegWit2x and Bitcoin Gold on: October 21, 2017, 02:15:28 PM
bitcoingold is simple to understand as we have already been through Bitcoincash. The best way would be to stake in an exchange that supports bitcoingold.

The best and the cheapest way as well Wink Looking forward to see market value of BCG, hope it will be around BCH

I would try to keep your expectations low.  Given that BCH has stabilized lower than the fork price and people tend to use previous examples to determine future actions (even if it's just one event) then I expect BCT Gold to be near worthless soon after trading begins.  I can't wait for all this fork craziness to end.

but there are a lot of differences though!

for example the number of people knowing about bitcoin gold is so much less than those who know about bitcoin cash. this means so many less are going to get BTG and so many less are going to dump BTG.
also less people hate BTG than they hated BCH since BTG is not as bad as BCH and it is not attacking bitcoin like BCH either. so there may even be less dumpers.
(less dumpers, higher price)

there is also mining that you have to consider which may attract a lot of attention and consequently pumps the price up.
183  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Gold - Collection Statements from Exchanges on: October 21, 2017, 02:08:20 PM
Can anyone explain this sentence "BTC deposits / withdrawals will be disabled in 67 hrs (24 oct)"?
I see it as that yobit will not accept the deposit and withdraw bitcoin in that time? it should be possible because the explanation will surely have a major impact on the state of the current bitcoin. I am so surprised if what I think is the true intent of the statement given by yobit.

i think they are afraid that bitcoin gold fork may cause some trouble for bitcoin blockchain also. things such as replay attacks come to mind since so far as i know bitcoin gold does NOT have replay protection YET. they have claimed to be working on implementing the same protection as bitcoin gold has but it still has not happened.

that may be the reason why they are going to disable things 24 hours before the fork!
it is an over kill if you ask me though.
184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin a Bubble that is just waiting to pop? 6000/8000!! really? on: October 21, 2017, 01:59:49 PM
not every rise is a bubble, waiting to pop! not every rise is a pump, nor every drop is a dump.

there are times where price goes up fast and with people fearing to miss out (FOMO) on something like the BTG airdrops. but there are also times that bitcoin is being added to real legal forex exchanges or with forex brokers and people who never knew about bitcoin shift their money into it.
185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Which exchanges & wallets officially giving BTG Gold on: October 20, 2017, 09:11:43 AM
Yobit claims to be "ready" for bitcoin gold and they announced that they will credit their users accounts on 24-26
https://twitter.com/yobitexchange/status/918566256151859200?lang=en

p.s. it is not really suggested to use an exchange like Yobit though, it is a very bad exchange to use but with bittrex turning into a scam and blocking a large number of user's funds, things doesn't look good.
186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: why most alt coins price is dropping down? on: October 20, 2017, 06:02:51 AM
with bitcoin price stabilizing once again, we can see the altcoins are also becoming stable and starting to rise once again. although the pumped altcoins like ETH are still getting dumped and what we see now is the dead cat bounces for those altcoins.

you have to hope for bitcoin to stay at this price and not move much so that altcoins can start their rises. otherwise if bitcoin starts moving again, falling or rising, altcoins will continue to fall down more.
187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your take on Electroneum? Is it a another Bitcoin in the making? on: October 20, 2017, 05:55:58 AM
whenever an altcoin claims to be "the next bitcoin" i immediately become skeptical.
whenever that altcoin insists on calling itself "the next bitcoin" i become sure it is a pump and dump scheme which is desperate to get some attention by calling itself "the next bitcoin"!
and when at last i check the project and see nothing interesting i become sure of all my assumptions. and this has not been the first time an altcoin did this.

the real "next bitcoin" won't have to call itself "the next bitcoin" for sure.

none this means price won't go up though. these coins are good pump and dumps. you can see ETH for the example, they can be very profitable.
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your thoughts on NEO (Antshares)? on: October 20, 2017, 05:34:43 AM
Since NEO is considered a Chinese coin, its fate will depend on those activities with respect to the crypto currency, which are now being completed in China. If there is indeed accepted a national regulated crypto currency, which will be supported by the government, then we should expect strict restrictions on the circulation of other decentralized coins, including NEO. However, I think that this coin will evolve, since it has no binding, like other decentralized coins, to a certain state and its rate will be determined by the demand for it by the world community and regulated by the market.

i honestly don't know why people call it Chinese coin but if they are true that can also mean NEO can have huge pumps that have never been seen before. we have already seen some small ones in LTC last year when Chinese pumped it hard to its ATH before the LTC halving. we can see a huge rise in NEO too. it can even go to 0.3BTC

and any regulations would come for all altcoins not just one NEO!
189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to earn Altcoi? on: October 20, 2017, 05:26:04 AM
in order to earn an altcoin, first someone has to be willing to pay you with that altcoin then you have to be able to do the job that someone is asking you to do.

for example some freelance job, designing a logo for example.
but since people are always wanting bitcoin and they all already have a bitcoin wallet hence are capable of receiving it, nobody really offers "altcoin payment" so you can earn it.

all the suggestions so far are things like airdrop and giveaway which are usually less than a bitcoin faucet payment. and sometimes take a lot of your time to claim and turn them into bitcoin.
190  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC price surge when Coinbase starts accepting BCH withdrawals? on: October 19, 2017, 06:17:01 AM
Coinbase will open up for Bitcoin Cash withdrawals on January 1st, 2018. Will users dump their Bitcoin Cash into Bitcoin, and do you think it'll boost Bitcoin's price in any significant way?

i think it depends on what features will they add.
if it is only withdrawal of BCH then i am sure there will be 0 effect on bitcoin price but BCH price will drop.

if they also add markets for BCH trading then things will be different. because if they only add BCH/BTC pair, bitcoin price may go down a little since many will want fiat ($) and to get that they have to sell for BTC and then sell BTC for $ and that can cause bitcoin drop.
but if they add BCH/$ market then again there will be 0 effect on bitcoin price but BCH price will drop.
191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Current Bitcoin price already priced in Bitcoin gold free airdrop? on: October 19, 2017, 06:08:10 AM
there is so little chance that this rise was because of bitcoin gold fork! so it is not even priced in.

the reason is simply because when the rise started at first nobody even knew about bitcoin cash. and those little who knew, remembered it as another ICO (BTG started as an ICO). and never even cared about it.
then after price went above the $5000 people started talking about Bitcoin Gold and how price rise was because of it, but by that time price already was near the ATH!

maybe BTG caused the rise from $5500 to $5800 but nothing more than that.
192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold premined? on: October 19, 2017, 05:58:44 AM
it is premined which means after release the developer will get a huge amount of BTG tokens in his pocket for doing nothing.

it is bad because it makes the project look bad and like a scam. which is what all the scam altcoins have done to make money for doing nothing.
an honest developer doesn't need these types of action to make profit from his own project. an honest developer is someone like Charlie Lee of Litecoin who has invested in his own project with hard earned money like the rest of us and he made millions when he made LTC popular and big.

a premined altcoin can never become successful in the long term. it will always have that premine as a big black scam mark on its forehead till the end of its days.
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Thoughts about my crypto protfolio? on: October 19, 2017, 05:51:32 AM
you are holding too little BTC, i would increase that if i were you and i always personally keep the majority of my portfolio in bitcoin. in long term that gives the best profit and has the best future.

i also agree with your choice of LTC, i will also buy more in case LTC price reaches 0.01BTC or anything close to that mark.

but i disagree with the choice of XRP. all i see in that coin is a highly risky investment at the present time.

the rest look good to me.
194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Beware of Bittrex blocking withdrawals for "security" reasons on: October 18, 2017, 10:28:40 AM
another good exchange turned bad. it is sad but they are not added to list of shitty exchanges like poloniex that we should stay away from. in the cryptocurrency market there really shouldn't be stuff like this, asking for verification, closing accounts and lack of transparency like this. it kills the market fast.

i hope something good comes out of this though. with bittrex being one of the bigger exchanges and losing customer i hope decentralized exchanges become more popular and we see people use them instead. and that is the good that can come out of it. so we can finally give up shitty exchanges like these. who close down your accounts and run away so easily.
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in alts in 2018. on: October 18, 2017, 09:44:08 AM
i would prefer more of the smaller coins and stay away from the big ones like ETH unless they have an obvious pump going on. we all saw the awesome pump that ETH had this year but ever since that, there has been 0 action going on and investing in it meant losing money and best case was to have no profit while others keep rising a lot.

in smaller altcoins it is easier to make profit too. they can get pumped even bigger. it is a well known fact that you can pump something from 100 satoshi to 100,000 satoshi (1000x) very easily but you can not pump something from 0.05BTC to 50BTC (1000x).
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Coins are CRASHING!!! Is it the next crash? BTC Down to $5300 as I type this! on: October 18, 2017, 09:06:50 AM
Well the markets reached all time highs recently so this is expected. I was expecting it to crash a lot lower after the China sell off last month, but we recovered and reached new time highs.
since you are posting in altcoin board you are talking about altcoin market. and it crashed only because it was pumped and pumps lead to bubbles which need to burst. and now they are bursting. Chin had nothing to do with it.

as for bitcoin, the Chinese news only was a temporary FUD that came and gone. only those who have brain make profit.

Quote
I think another crash is bound to happen again. I mean just the beginning of the year Bitcoin was at $300 and Ethereum was $5, now just a few months later look at the prices. There has to be a correction, and that time is now. What do you think?
at the beginning of the year bitcoin was nearly $1100 and also no country had yet adopted it. no country had removed taxes on bitcoin either.
but now multiple countries like Japan adopted bitcoin and also removed taxes on bitcoin. that leads to real adoption and real demand that causes this price rise.

ETH on the other hand is severely pumped for no reason. only because a ton of ICOs were created on it and as soon as they stop, the price drops hard.
197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin/crypto on: October 18, 2017, 08:30:08 AM
they are advertising this altcoin a lot but i really don't see much of a potential in it to become anything like bitcoin. it will be another altcoin among a lot of other altcoins doing the same altcoin pump and dumps. the name is weird too. it may seem like the least important thing but it really matters when you are marketing a currency.

the price is another matter though. it can be a good coin with a lot of potential for profit. specially since they are advertising it a lot. it is always easier to have pumps in these types of altcoin.
198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The buy wall on: October 18, 2017, 07:38:39 AM
that is what all the altcoins have been doing, either the owner is putting up buy walls or the pump and dump groups with a whale that knows how to pump the coins. none of them have so far asked for money to do the pump and dump though, if you start an ICO then you will be the first to create the fist pump and dump ICO. you can call it P&D for short.
but you have to know how to do it though. just putting up buy walls won't save the price. look at ETH and how they have been manipulating the price to learn it first.
199  Economy / Speculation / Re: Value hanging in there better than I expected, but... on: October 18, 2017, 07:30:26 AM
i agree that there is a correction/fall or whatever else you want to call it, is in our future. but i do not see any signs of weakening. even with the recent dip, it is just the market so far moving up and down between the two resistances. up and down until one of them is broken and price goes in one direction or the other.

Maybe 4400-4700 is more realistic.

i also disagree with this.
~2 months ago when price went to ATH of $4900+ the $4400-$4700 (or more precisely $4500) seemed more realistic and after the correction price actually went to $4500. (then the FUD about China began and drop became bigger).
now the correction is more realistic at $5000 and worst case at $4900 for a short time before coming back.

anything lower needs the FUDs to start.
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: WTF is going on with Stellar Lumens? on: October 17, 2017, 08:08:33 AM
it is simply a pump! they just released some news which you can see in other comments already and because of that the market reacted and the pumpers started their machines to pump the price up. although those with insiders info bought it long ago when this news was not released yet.
things like this happen so often in altcoin market. that is why you always have to have one year to the ground if you want to take part in these pumps and make a big profit in one or two days.

i think this board is in serious need of a new sticky topic explaining what a "pump and dump" is, so that maybe less topics like this would be created in the future. Cheesy
