181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fundstrat Analyst Tom Lee Says Bitcoin Will Reach over $15000 Next Week on: May 09, 2018, 12:44:31 PM

According to the Fundstrat researchers which is led by Tom Lee, says that Bitcoin is all set to hit high by next week. At present Bitcoin seems to be on a better part of 2018 after struggle of three-week. Since, it has now reached to the $9000 mark and steadily reaching the $10,000 mark.

What’s your take on going into Consensus rally next week?

https://coinpedia.org/news/tom-lee-bitcoin-reach-high/

Tom Lee is surely a bullish strategist and analyst of bitcoin. But if we look at the charts carefully the only thing that is clear and feasible today is that we are going to hit 10k + $ next week. We could either go up to 11k or 12k$ but its too early to hit 15k$. Something is holding bitcoin down thus the price movement is very slow but that is very healthy and very positive to bitcoin.
182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did you recover from your loss in bitcoin investment? on: May 09, 2018, 12:41:21 PM
Though I lost some profit due to the sudden drop of bitcoin so I have no choice but keep on holding my bitcoins. Also I did not just sleep and wait for my bitcoins to grow in value but rather I find it as a good opportunity to increase the amount of bitcoins that I am holding. When bitcoin was at its dip I started to buy some bitcoin and when it reached 9900 I sold some of it thus somehow I recover some of my losses. Then when bitcoin fell again down to 9100$ I again started buying and the value of bitcoin today is back at 9300$ so I have gain profit again.
183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BILDERBERG 2011 ST. MORITZ SWITZERLAND on: May 09, 2018, 12:34:28 PM
Smiley  I'm positive BILDERBERG SCUM will be discussing Bitcoin this year and it's threat to private central banking.....   Smiley

This BILDERBERG is a big meeting of big people and elites. To conspiracy theorists it is a meeting of the Illuminati to create the new world order. But what is really the BIlderberg. According to Wikipedia Bilderberg  is an annual private conference of 120 to 150 people of the European and North American political elite, experts from industry, finance, academia and the media, established in 1954 by Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands.

Some experts says that this conference is one way of saving Europe from its debt, and the big bankers, industrialists and other elites can help save the economy of Europe.

In relation to bitcoin, we do not know how will they treat bitcoin. This meeting could either bring positive things to bitcoin if they will decide that it is beneficial to society or it could lead to bitcoins doom if they will plan to destroy bitcoin since it is a threat to the banking system. But one thing is for sure they will always move towards having more profit.
184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why do people insist on comparing bitcoin with unrelated altcoins? on: May 09, 2018, 12:20:10 PM
if you hand around bitcointalk for at least a week you can see the most common newbie created topic here is about bitcoin versus some other altcoin which usually does not even have anything in common with bitcoin!

for example the most common one is ethereum which is a token with an unlimited supply and dark future.
some examples
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3524557.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3525529.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3240520.0

all newbies.
is this the new way of advertising it? like they used in early days when they spammed our inboxes about it?
are they having trouble pumping it again?

As you all know JP Morgan is filing a patent on using blockchain technology on banks with ethereum as its platform. Possibly this is one kind of promotion to strengthen Ethereum. Even in social media many people are talking about how Ethereum will reach 10k$ value. This are all non-sense stories and are just marketing strategies just like what Roger Ver is doing with bitcoin cash.
185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 'Put your money where your mouth is': Winklevoss Says to Bill Gates on: May 09, 2018, 11:45:42 AM
The Winklevoss brothers are the first bitcoin billionaires and they put a large amount of their asset in bitcoin as they believe bitcoin has a good future. Bill Gates was first having a good thought on bitcoin and was even planning to integrate bitcoin with microsoft excel features but with the price of bitcoin going down tremendously Gates have changed his mind about how he thinks of bitcoin.
186  Economy / Speculation / Re: Futures destroyed Bitcoin on: May 09, 2018, 08:49:20 AM

This is not a regrettable action if bitcoins price will stable due to the low value of bitcoin futures on CME this will have a positive impact on bitcoin. This would mean that people could buy more bitcoins at a lower value without fearing tremendous downfall of value. This could also mean that the whales will have no choice but to sell their coins and the masses will buy it. This could lead into a mass distribution of bitcoin and this could mean that no more dumps in the market since the whales will have only less bitcoin. With this trend the future of bitcoin will have no choice but just to go up in value.
187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we remove @Bitcoin on twitter on: May 09, 2018, 08:38:07 AM
I think bitcoin cash will be real bitcoin in near future..I don't think BTC will hit $100000 but BCH will hit it definitely..what you think about that...just wait and watch the drama bitween BTC and BCH..... Grin Grin Grin
You are entitled to your opinion but for me it is never going to happen. When people realizes that the bitcoin (bch) they purchase was not the real bitcoin they will shift into bitcoin. The first thing they will notice is the value and the symbol. There are already people who have complain why is their btc (bch) much cheaper and why is the symbol different , after knowing the facts they convert to bitcoin.
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why people want ETH to over come BTC on: May 09, 2018, 02:32:17 AM
Why some people want the Ethereum to over come Bitcoin in the near future? Is it because they make profit from ETH or what?

The reason why some people wanted Ethereum to overcome bitcoin in the near future is because they have a vested interest. They have huge ethereum on their account balance and that is why they want ethereum to overtake bitcoin so they could be millionaires if that happen. Its a common attitude of people and thus we only need common sense to answer it.
189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bed news of Bitcoin on: May 09, 2018, 02:05:54 AM
The problem is that Warren Buffet is playing god. He thinks that he knows everything about bitcoin and what will happen in the future. If he is a professional he should not stick to one theory and must place two sides of the coin rather than sticking to only one side. His statement is very biased and is just made out of his ideas.
190  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin & College students . on: May 08, 2018, 09:47:17 AM
I believe that a huge portion of the the crypto community are still young college students that don't have any necessities that need another source of income aside from their scholarships / the money they are getting from their parents .
And apart from spending their cryptos on either betting or purchasing goods/video games from online markets , many of these students didn't make plans for what they'll do with their coins in the future.
I myself have had many thoughts about hodling and launching a business as soon as i graduate with the coins in my possession , yet i'm not exactly sure what i'll be doing ..
So i'm really curious about :
- On what do you spend your coins apart than partying/gambling/paying for tuition loans ?
- Do you have any future plans for your coins if you are hodling any ?

Well not only college are into this kind of activity but also the high school students. In the Philippines students who are 15 years of age and above are already earning millions of Pesos annually  from doing bitcoin jobs such as bounty campaign. They have high ranking accounts in this forum such as Legendary and Hero members. These kids are the future of cryptocurrency and actually they are the ones who taught me how to earn more bitcoins online.
191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin fees on: May 07, 2018, 01:31:20 PM
How are the Bitcoin fees for transactions compared to the fees for ethereum ? I researched about the fees, but I would like to know  perspectives for future, and how different coins are basing their fees. I know both coins have a huge growing potential, which is good, but the down side is related to the fees.

Transacting with the use of bitcoin have bigger fees compared to Ethereum but that is if you are sending to an external wallet. To avoid those high fees there is a way of doing that. And that is to use one and the same web-wallet host website. For example like coins.ph if you transfer bitcoins to other users using the same site there are no fees but if you are going to send it to external wallets then that is the time that you will pay the huge transaction fees.
192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The FALL OF BITCOIN on: May 07, 2018, 01:23:17 PM
The only coin that is using blockchain technology the right way is USDT or Tether
most other coins are just scams and not meant for adaptability

USDT and Tether are the same thing. And actually USDT is looking more like scam because nobody knows how much money they have or do they have any money to back up their USDT constant printing.
Most other coins are actually using blockchain in the right way, but most of them are still a startups without a real product, so it will take time before we can see a real use of these coins.
Bitcoin will eventually become something like "digital gold", i doubt that it would be used for everyday payments, but more likely be used for savings.

I doubt that USDT is the onlycryptocurrency that is using the blockchain technology the right way. Also what is the definition of using the blockchain in the right manner. All of the functioning coins are using the blockchain technology that proper and its the reason why we can monitor the transactions being made. USDT is somehow troublesome with the fact that it is only being backed up by Tether Limited and we do not know if they are just making more tethers without the exact dollar equivalent. The company issued 2.2 billion USDT on the OMNI network and the question is do they have a 2.2 billion US dollars at the banks so they can declare that 1 USDT is equivalent to 1 US dollars.
193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on the Bitcoin vs Bitcoin Cash Dilemia on: May 07, 2018, 01:15:53 PM
Curious to see what people's thoughts are on this topic. There is a strong side of protesters who believe BCH and Roger Ver is hurting the overall market while others support their actions.

Overall the loud banter on the topic is not progressive for the market to grow, thoughts?
Bitcoin cash is actually a good cryptocurrency and it has good features. Bitcoin cash was made without the basic flaws and problems in bitcoin algorithms. But even though this is a well made coin but the problem comes from the management of BCH especially Roger Ver. Due to their scamming methods of getting more buyers they camouflaged as the real bitcoin site using bitcoin.com as the name of their website. Due to this bad moves of Roger Ver bitcoin cash was being affected.
194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has anyone read this Bitcoin book? on: May 07, 2018, 01:12:06 PM
That book is well made. It was written by SAIFEDEAN AMMOUS, PHD,  a Professor of Economics at the Lebanese American University, and member of the Center on Capitalism and Society at Columbia University. This books answers the famous questions that are always being repeated on this forum such as who is controlling bitcoin?, is bitcoin a currency of criminals and also it explains how bitcoin challenges the government and banks.
195  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 30 second weekly new - May on: May 07, 2018, 01:06:29 PM
Maybe it will be useful for some people. I am thinking mainly of those who have no time for anything forever Wink

1. Reddit restores Bitcoin payments and adds more crypto coins
2. BMW, Ford, Renault and General Motors form a blockchain coalition.
3. CoinMarketCap launches the application for iOS
4. UNICEF crypto copies to raise money to help poor children
5. Warren Buffet once again has a negative impact on cryptovalent communities
6. Zcash added to Circle application

This is funny. Reddit removed bitcoin payments since they thought that bitcoin was just a bubble and that Ethereum is much better compared to bitcoin. To restore bitcoin as a mode of payment they could possibly realized that they made a wrong move. They are lucky that they made this choice before its too late. Reddit will celebrate when by December bitcoin will eventually be back to 20k$.
196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to Shut Up Bitcoin Haters on: May 07, 2018, 01:02:31 PM
Show with proof, if we have a new house or apartment we buy with bitcoin then invite hater to see the evidence is important, I'm sure that hater soon realized and changed their thinking about bitcoin.

I do agree that is the best way to shut up the bitcoin haters. But at this point of time it is useless to show them proof since bitcoin have just suffered a tremendous crash of value from 20k$ to 6200$. Though bitcoin is at 9200$ at this point time it has still a long way to go to recover. So the only way to convince them is to just wait and let bitcoins value speaks for itself when it is already at 50k$.
197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 17th Million bitcoin has been mined. 4 million left to go. on: May 07, 2018, 12:57:16 PM
21 million ever created.
https://www.coindesk.com/17-millionth-bitcoin-mined-means-matters/

I did hear late last week there were 4 million left to be mined so the race is on for those ASIC manufacteurs to step up their game.

It is true that the most efficient ASIC miners were released and I heard that bitmain already released E3 which is considered to be the most fastest miner ever made by bitmain. This miner will probably overpower the GPUs  and it will make bitmain the number 1 producer of mining rig across the globe. With only 4 milion bitcoins left to mine and with the near implementation of lightning network the mining companies are on a race to mine the remaining bitcoins.
198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Difference between paying for a flight with bitcoins and using a credit card ... on: May 07, 2018, 12:53:34 PM
I have used cheapair.com for all of my flight purchases for years. I live internationally, buy international tickets all the time. No problems with cheapair paying with bitcoins.

I just bought a ticket for my girlfriend here in Thailand on kiwi.com because the only flights available on cheapair were $4k+ while the one I found on kiwi were $1500.

I actually bought the ticket a few weeks ago but when I went to print it out for her visa I saw that they never booked the flight sending her e-mails about verifying my payment.

I booked it again. I had to send them a copy of my passport, then a selfie. Then they e-mailed me with a phone number to call. I called the number and they verified more information, and now I have to wait for a third party service to get back to me to see if I'm ever so lucky to have the transaction go through.

I hate when I go from bitcoin back into the stone age of legacy finance. Everyone needs to just catch up already.

Finally at last the dream of travelling via air transport riding in an airplane is already realized. This was just a dream few years ago and we thought that Japan will have the first airlines who will accept bitcoin. This is just a sign that bitcoin is slowly being mainstream in our economy. Sooner or later we can go to shopping malls using bitcoin as payments.
199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why the Bitcoin will skyrocket this summer! I will try to explain. on: May 07, 2018, 12:50:53 PM
Bitcoin will increase in value but it will not yet skyrocket. Bitcoin will just be recovering from its all time high value at 20k$ last December. This December of 2018 the community expects that bitcoin will come back to that value or it will overtake it. The reason why bitcoin is so hot this year is because of the implementation of the lightning network that have attracted big and giant investors and companies to buy and accept bitcoins this Q3 of 2018.
200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lightning Network - An attempt to take the fees from miners? on: May 07, 2018, 12:46:06 PM
One of the reason why the lightning network is being implemented is because it wanted bitcoin to realize its main purpose which is a medium of exchange. But because of slow confirmation speed and high transaction fees it is possible somehow to mainstream bitcoin and use it in our daily lives. Thus lightning network is the answer to mainstream bitcoin into all walks of life wherein we can buy coffee in the streets and many more. Also the POS algorithm will attract more users since this time the fees from transactions will go back to the users.
