181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: People keep asking me to borrow money, some of them for betting on: May 28, 2024, 12:51:07 PM

Some people even go so far as to ask me to borrow money for what? to bet!! What a joke. I answer briefly and bluntly that I don't have the money to lend for these purposes!
Its in my principle to never lend anyone even a close friend if he is going to use it for betting, if I am going to lend for this purpose I will just encourage the lender to continue to gamble and if he become addicted to gambling then I'm part of the blame for his addiction.

Quote
And the worst thing is that they ask me for small amounts, like $2, 5, 10$... I think that if the person doesn't have that money now, the chances of them getting that money to pay you are low. If the person is in need, it's easier for them to confess right away to see what I can do, because I'm not a bad person.
Even if its a small amount we should not lend or support these people from taking a loan if they are going to use it for gambling, if he really in dire need of money and its not for gambling if I have an excess money I will agree to lend them without expecting them to return.

Quote
Do you usually lend money to relatives, friends, etc.? Have you ever felt bad about it, done it unwillingly?
If I have an excess money then why not these are relatives and friends where I share good and bad times so its ok to lend them as long as its not for betting and there's a probability that they are going to pay me back.

Quote
And when they are female friends, do you lend them?
I treat all my friends the same whether they are male or female I have the same treatment to them.
182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Lotto Winner Takes Time To Claim Their Rewards, What's The Point? on: May 27, 2024, 04:00:14 PM
There are many opinions as to why members are taking time to claim their rewards, I can only speak based what is the law regarding claiming of lotto prize here in our country and the majority are in one in saying that the winner should claim the winnings right away which is the right idea.

Although there were reports that a winner takes a month to claim the prize because he did stake out the lottery company because he is afraid for his safety and his family, winners have a different mentality when they suddenly win a life-changing amount so it takes them time to process the whole situation, but there were no report in our country where the winner did not claim because of fear of changing his life.

Locking this thread and thank you all to those who participate on this healthy discussion
183  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Deontay Wilder Vs Zhilei Zhang JUNE 1 Heavyweight on: May 27, 2024, 02:25:21 PM
Do people still watch boxing? Joking obviously but with MMA fighting being so popular boxing has become obsolete. This particular fight Wilder is wanting to go out with a bang but might be biting off more than he can chew. Should be an entertaining fight, but Wilder likely loses and hangs his gloves up.

MMA might be more popular in the United States and a few European countries but around the world boxing still has a significant presence. Tyson Fury fought in front of 94,000 in attendance at Wembley Stadium a couple years ago, Naoya Inoue sold out the Tokyo Dome earlier this month. We’ve had some big fights involving Canelo, Inoue, Fury, Usyk and Lomachenko in the span of a month, which had a lot of buzz on social media so it’s kind of crazy to think people aren’t watching boxing anymore.

Boxing is still popular and I hold it based on gate receipt and PPV no top MMA fighters can claim that they earned more than the top boxers, Ngannou earned more in his one fight

Francis Ngannou earned $20 million from his fight against Anthony Joshua.
For his fight with Tyson Fury, he earned $10 million, that's $30 million for two boxing matches.
He made $3.5 million from 14 UFC fights in 7 years.

Here is the breakdown of Ngannou's earnings both on MMA and boxing

https://www.givemesport.com/francis-ngannou-net-worth-boxing-ufc-earnings-purses

Back on Wilder, I don't think it is a money matter he has too much of it, every boxer wants a graceful exit if he wants this to be his last fight or if he still wants to get even on Fury or to share a ring with Joshua to fill up people's curiosity on who between them is the best, they've deprived the boxing fans so I'm sure Wilder and Joshua will still want to get it done.
184  Economy / Services / Re: Signature campgain manger on: May 27, 2024, 01:57:19 PM
I sent him a recommendation through PM and asked about it on Telegram out of curiosity, it's more of a partnership with 50% revenue sharing I don't know how a campaign manager will work on that, still a good project to promote as it sharpens your analysis through trading pairs with their platform.
I hope he gets a good manager.

Yes, they will surely find a manager and 10+ participants in the campaign who will work for a percentage of the potential earnings. Things don't go that way, I'm surprised that someone would even think of such a scenario.
If it's a good project, then it's better that he invests in marketing himself and later when the profit is big, he won't have to share $1-$2k weekly with the manager and campaign participants.

Based on what I read the bounty manager will spend funds to pay those participants or they will pool their money to pay for participants, I'm not a bounty manager but all I know is the project manager should be the one to shoulder all the cost and the bounty managers are the one picking and creating the rules of the campaign, the manager will oversee the campaign to maximize the exposure of the project.
It still depends on what they agree but in the long term the project is the one that will benefit in the campaign
185  Economy / Gambling / Re: Earn Bitcoin With HunnyPlay's New Referral Program! $5k Bonus + upto 18% cut. on: May 27, 2024, 10:58:57 AM
You have been here since 2022 and also with your own tokens but seems like never focused on serious promotions like signature campaign and other contests. I mean these high bonus referral things may not hep you to achieve what you exactly want. From these, I like to suggest you to hire a manager here in this forum for driving your business into a new high.

OP had announcements on so many sections he has one on altcoin discussion, altcoin announcement, games and rounds, service announcement, marketplace, if OP keeps doing this and open an announcement on inappropriate section he might get a temp ban.

OP should just concentrate on having one thread where he think he can build supporters and from there build his reputation by keeping the thread updated and addressing all questions and issues.
Launching a signature campaign is good for the platform with the help of a competent manager a month long campaign will do wonder to his campaign
186  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Errol Spence vs Sebastian Fundora - Oct on: May 26, 2024, 10:40:48 PM
At last, they are finalizing it, if you all remember Spence called out Fundora after he beat Tszyu, Spence is raring to go for a title shot after that humiliating loss to Crawford, he wants to bounce back quickly at the expense of Fundora.
This is a very interesting fight, Fundora was an underdog against Tzsyu but he managed to prove naysayers wrong he could do the same here, Spence is a favourite here but we never know his state of mind if he is ready to face tough fighters like Fundora, instead of getting a tune fight Spence right away go for a title shot and Fundora is not an easy fight.
But I believe with Spence's experience he can pull this one and regain the titles.
187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about the potential of $Waves? on: May 26, 2024, 03:58:49 PM
Hi, some years back Waves has been hyped as the next Etherium. What do you all think about this project? Does it still have any potential?
Yes several years ago Waves was considered Ethereum's closest competitor but they are left behind in terms of development and adoption, I remember back then it was easy to create a token on Waves you only needed one Waves to create a token and even a newbie can create one.

I remember creating one for fun and it's easy, but their platform is not popular now among developers they are not the chain of choice by developers.

So many news chains came out and Waves was left behind in developing its platform so many investors dumped Waves because of their lag in marketing and development.
It's better to invest in new chains like Solana or Polygon.
188  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Invite like-minded people to jointly promote a great ideal on: May 26, 2024, 03:18:35 PM
If you are looking for a currency on a blockchain, we have one called bitcoin.   Ethereum also has advanced smart contracts.

What are you looking to invent?

That's true so many people are trying to reinvent the wheel when the wheel is still ok and is still rolling, without giving a jab to OP, so many scammers are like that, creating a plan that will make the lives of the people better through blockchain when Bitcoin is the best option for every kind of concept related to blockchain.

Bitcoin is enough for everything related to blockchain, OP why not work on Bitcoin's ecosystem or the use of Ethereum's smart contract for wider adoption instead of creating a new one?
Just because Bitcoin's code is open source does not mean you will create your own, sell it to people and make a profit, that's not part of Satoshi's vision.
189  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Taylor vs Catterall - May 26 on: May 26, 2024, 01:14:00 PM

On the other hand, did you hear the rant of Bob Arum in the post fight interview? He said that he will not bring any American fighter in Britain? and he really looks disgusted and he thinks that Taylor won the fight.

With British judges as the judge, he should not, I agree on this part but not on the part that he thinks that Taylor wins the match, no way he won that fight but it should not be with that wide margin, I did not score the fight but based on what I see Catterall won it by a slim margin.

After what has been said, Catterall already won in this rematch by a huge margin as per judges scorecard. Yes, it was a exciting as any fight will be as they are domestic rivals. And with the 140 lbs pretty much a great division with Teo Lopez, Matias, Pitbull Cruz, Garcia and Haney, it will be interesting to see how Catterall will fare against this American boxers.

I don't think he can, the skill level and the power are not enough to pair Catterall with Lopez, Pitbull Cruz or even Matias but he has a good chance against Haney although he is not that quick to counter Haney's quickness, he deserves to have a crack on the title as he has beaten the former undisputed champion convincingly, I'm sure Hearns will work on that but hopefully not in the British soil.

191  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does addicted gamblers only lose money all the time on: May 26, 2024, 05:50:34 AM
I feel so bother and that is why I decided to ask this question.

We keep talking about gambling addiction and how bad it is to become addicted, does it mean that addicted gamblers lose money all the time? Do you means those guys doesn't win anything at all? Can they not be lucky to win jackpots?
Every gambler has different narratives about why they become addicted to gambling yes majority of them win some win a small amount and gamble more to win more and some gamblers win huge amounts of money and want to duplicate those wins and win, when they keep playing they suffer losses and they chase their losses it's an ending cycle, for an addicted gambler even winning a jackpot will not stop them from continuing to gamble because they have found the thrill in gambling that they cannot found elsewhere.

Quote
On this board, we are always referring addiction as a terrible thing but does it mean that those addicted gamblers doesn't win money, are they only bounded to losses upon losses?
If they are not winning they would have given up of course they do win and because of the misconception that they can make a living from gambling they continue to try and continue their effort to gamble until its impossible for them to get out.

192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Taylor vs Catterall - May 26 on: May 26, 2024, 12:55:17 AM
And it was great fight indeed, but at the end of it all, it was Jack Catterall who come in top, with a score of 117-111, 2x and 116-113. Although the score card looks ridiculous, as it seems 9-3 for Catterall, but I guess the correct winner is announced.

Jack dominated the fight from the first round and Josh hasn't anything to offer in this fight. It's just so sorry for Jack that there are no more belts in the line, and if he was given the nod in the first fight, he could be the undisputed champion.

For Josh Taylor, as a boxing fans, I think it's time for him to retire.

The fight takes off where they left but this time Catterall is the more prepared between the two after reading the scorecard I was surprised by a very wide margin I agree that Catterall takes the win but 117- 111 is just too wide for a gap for a very close fight and with this lost Josh Taylor can think of retirement or maybe take a rest he is still young at 33 years old.

He managed to get the weight but the aggressiveness was not there anymore he can move up to the next weight but the competition in the higher division is tough and I don't think he can manage to shine in another weight division which is the Welterweight division but on his interview, he wants to a have a third one well a third one is good but Catterall already calculated Taylor and I believe Catterall will still beat him.
193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Day streaming as gambler experience on: May 25, 2024, 03:08:42 PM
Lately, I have started day streaming as a sponsored gambler on one of the casinos I use to be a tester there, I chose one of the known platforms to start my stream, bought the gadgets I need even though Unfortunately I live in a country where the internet speed is limited, the quality of my stream isn’t as good as other popular streamers, however, I have got much support from the community and viewers, had fun and good slot hits.
For now my experience is pretty good for now, but I certainly need some advices from you to upgrade my channel, community, and how to grow and to the next step.

Do you think it is a bad thing to do, promoting gambling?

You did not mention the name of the platform I hope it's not Facebook, YouTube is ok and for other streaming platforms I don't see any issue promoting gambling as streamers so many people are also doing this as long as you out a disclaimer about the facts in gambling and you remind your audiences to be a responsible gambler.

Streamers are good for those who first want to see games in a casino that you are promoting, some gamblers want engagement so they can get some tricks and guides on the games that are being streamed, if it's ok to you you can post your channel here but you need to upgrade your internet connection because you're going to lose followers ad viewers if the stream has too many lags.

Just continue your streaming if you enjoy and you can help other gamblers to experience the excitement of the games you are streaming.

194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you been profiting from memecoins? on: May 25, 2024, 02:28:03 PM
Unfortunately, I failed to profit from these meme coins I was targeting new meme coins in the market so I could profit when they started to pump into the market but it's hard to get the right meme coins to invest in because there are so many new meme coins coming up and you need a big investment.

These old meme coins that are already in the market are also good but compared to a new meme coin they hardly get pumped, I have 5 or 6 meme coins in my wallet and these meme coins failed to get in the market and the developers did an early rug pull, so many meme coins are like this, because scammers and hackers are meme coins creators too.
195  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Deontay Wilder Vs Zhilei Zhang JUNE 1 Heavyweight on: May 25, 2024, 01:30:36 PM
It's a stack up cards so there's a lot of us boxing fans to look at not just this fight. Obviously the main even is Dmitri Bivol vs Malik Zinad. Although what we wanted is him against Beterbiev. But we will have to wait, Bivol just need to win this and then him and Beterbiev be rescheduled for this year hopefully.

It is a stack-up card and look it's only a week before the big fight could have been a lot more interesting if Beterbiev did not suffered an injury still a blockbuster event with the presence of Dubois and Hrgovic there's still no final announcement if these two are fighting for the IBF title as there will be announcement in the coming days

The main event alone is a do or die Wilder hints on a retirement but could change his mind if he can knock out Zhang not an easy task but if he can connect those rights he had a chance.

196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Lotto Winner Takes Time To Claim Their Rewards, What's The Point? on: May 25, 2024, 12:01:08 PM
Here in our country, if you hit the jackpot, you are given one year to claim your rewards. There is also a security feature on the back of the lotto ticket where you can write your name and sign it, so you are the only person who can claim the jackpot prize, and you have a year to claim it.
This is very bad, which country is that again? In my country, if you win your Lotto ticket today, you have the right to collect your money on that very day if time has not been far spent, or the very next day. At least, this is my experience with offline lottos, although they now have their presence online, but I do not think anything would change, and possibly, the online presence will make the whole process faster.

All they need to do is credit your bank account and you are good to go. Lotto is not what they are still verifying like that, once the combination is correct, you are good to go, so why the delay? A year? That's bad.

Its good that I caught your post my post is properly configured and all the members understand it, what I mean is you are given one year to claim your ticket,  your ticket is valid for one year you and can claim your ticket the next day the reason why I create this discussion is I wonder why the winners takes a week or months to claim their winnings when they can do that the next day or a week

I read that some lottery winners take weeks or even months to claim their rewards, but what's the point?

197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the limits and common sense of bet? on: May 24, 2024, 03:54:21 PM

If the bettor has bet something... be it money or some personal item, is the bettor obliged to pay? What does your jurisdiction say about this?

Of course if a bet is between two persons both should honor their bets it will lead to quarell or even a fight if one party will not or cannot honor his bet, when you bet you should show that you can pay the bettor

Quote
Have you ever made a bet that led to an embarrassing situation or do you know someone who has?
Yes like betting on a cock fight but I really don't have enough money I just received a tip that the other cock is weak and it's going to lose, I ended up making a promissory note its a very embarrassing situation and I never did it again

Quote
What are the limits of a bet, can a bettor bet something that he is unable to pay? i.g: betting your own life or 10 years' salary? And also without gaining anything in return, since he only bet against and didn't bet anything if that bettor won...

Or as long as everything was done in a contract that such unusual types of bets would be worth?

No you should not bet in an unusual kind of bet, bets should be realistic and both parties should know what the bets are all about and they can honor their bets, betting is never a joke if you're going to bet take it seriously it  is different when you do it with friends and you all understand that its a friendly bet.
198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Taylor vs Catterall - May 26 on: May 24, 2024, 01:48:15 PM
Wow just watched the weigh-in live stream Caterrall was getting cheered while Taylor was booed by the audience

Here is the result of the weigh in 139.8 for Caterrall and 139.6 for Taylor so we have a match this Sunday, on the face off Josh looks aggressive but there is minimal talk between the two they said the same thing all talks are over and they will go to work come fight night.

I have a hard time figuring it out but even though Taylor's performance last two fights was not that good I'll still go for Josh I still believe that Taylor can resurrect his career, but I have no problem with Catterall winning I just want to see a good fight, which I'm sure both fighters will give for their fans.

Josh Taylor Vs Jack Catterall 2 & Undercard Weigh In
199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Lotto Winner Takes Time To Claim Their Rewards, What's The Point? on: May 24, 2024, 12:18:54 PM

I read that some lottery winners take weeks or even months to claim their rewards, but what's the point?

What if you keep it and will surprise your family after a month, but you have an accident and you get into a coma?

Or you let it know to your family, but you decide that you will claim it after a month but some members of the family spread the news will this put your family and yourself in jeopardy

Do you think it's a good idea to claim your winnings a day after hitting the jackpot or wait a few weeks?

How about you? When do you think is the right time to claim your winnings?

Its a crazy scenario about the coma but literally could happen to anyone and you have to prepare for everything these days! You can never be sure of anything or any outcome and literally anything can happen, so failing to plan would be planning to fail! If it is me I am calling into the lotto to tell them I plan to take the next flight into town and submit my ticket in person. I would hope that would help speed the payout process, but I guess i'll have to find out when I win the lotto of a future scratch off ticket i'll buy at a gas station or supermarket  Grin

Life is full of uncertainty, we never know what's going to happen the next day, I watched a documentary movie where the father saves money but keeps it secret from his family, and when he dies no one in the family knows about his savings but the widowed wife eventually found out the location because the late husband told the wife on her dreams.

So it's better when you hit a jackpot you have to claim and stop dilly-dallying because the money you claimed is not yet yours better to have the money in your hands and just plan anything you want to do because when you have the money all your plan will materialize.
200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling bad to the society? on: May 24, 2024, 11:41:13 AM

So what I'm trying to conclude is that gambling isn't something you should take as a hobby or as a means of earning just to make a living. So what are your thoughts?
I don't agree that you should not take it as a hobby but I agree that you don't take gambling as a means to make a living, it's a big illusion if you think that you can make money from gambling because the uncertainty is very high but you will not encounter any issues like you've mentioned in your post if you take it as a hobby and as a hobby you allocate money for you gambling activity,

The gambling platforms have done and keep doing their share of promoting their platform as a platform of entertainment, so it's up to the gambler how they discipline and how they set their mindset when playing in casinos.
