1801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogechat - such webchat, free dogecoin - Amaze! on: April 29, 2014, 04:17:01 PM
TL;DR blah

I'm not afraid of anyone expressing their opinion, however wrong it is, else this would be a self-moderated thread.

However, telling people I basically stole/took over a website that I was repeatedly asked to take, is not on. There was a lot of drama caused by childish behaviour at coinchat. This is not welcome under my care at dogechat. Basically, if you don't add anything to the community, which you do not by being negative, you are not welcome. Though we don't have many rules, I have instated a new one, (4. don't be a dick) and you break this often.

Welcome to the real world whereby, around adults, you call people scammers and thieves and then want on their website when you see it doing well,  doesn't happen. Don't bother coming back until you have grown up, you know my email. Thank you.

Looks like the same drama that ruined coinchat is coming to this one but why not just let sleeping dogs lie?

This is entirely the reason for the ban. We have moved on and would like to continue to enjoy our new community without any more dramatics.

Utterly ridiculous. To be clear, your actions during all the drama were disgusting. I stand by my claims, but when I went onto Dogechat I did not even express them at all. You banned me for something that happened many months previously, on a separate site. That's not me being a dick, that you being a dick.

I am in the real world. I call people scammers because they are scammers. Are you a scammer? No. Do you have no idea what you're doing? Yes.

I have better things to do than to try and take down Dogechat, but rest assured you aren't going to stop me from talking to people who I got on with at CoinChat because you enjoy testing out the ban command on people who don't deserve it.
1802  Other / Meta / Re: May I know the criteria of being a Moderator ? on: April 28, 2014, 08:28:16 PM
To add to some of the points made by staff already, I can see why accuracy isn't as important as report quantity, even though it still needs to be decent. For instance, my accuracy is 87% currently and it was 89% previously. Mostly it's just common sense - at the end of the day IMHO that's something I'd hope all moderators have anyway. This is probably one of the rare places where it's quantity over quality - as it shows your commitment and how much you can help the staff team.

They're starting off small with the contests, but I was paid! Smiley

Good work, guys!

haha nice screenshot!  Grin

Coinbase is pretty cool that it allows us to send BTC via Email.

I would trade that 0.001 BTC for 903.34 DOGE  Wink

Maybe if I actually had any use for Dogecoin. There's Dogecha-ohwait...

Nah, I prefer cold hard Bitcoins to altcoins anyway Tongue The only reason I hold 180k DVC and 3 LTC is because I haven't remembered the passwords for the wallets yet, haha.
1804  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: btc auto send / recieve on: April 28, 2014, 07:21:39 PM
I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to say? You could try using the blockchain.info API for sending and receiving Bitcoin, which is found at https://blockchain.info/api.

1806  Other / Meta / [EDU] Banned? Read this before posting about it on: April 28, 2014, 06:39:02 PM
Staff, please sticky this if you can. The amount of "I've been banned/My friend has been banned" threads are getting ridiculous.

First up, if you were banned, there is always a good reason for it. Whether you're aware of it or not, you've broken some kind of rule, and I will state right now that if you are permanently banned your chance of being unbanned is slim. If you're reading this and you haven't been banned, I'd like to remind you that reading stickies is a must to lower your chances of being banned. If you've been temp-banned, use your time off the forums as a way to reflect. Ban evasion so you can complain about your ban will probably get your ban extended, and your alternate account banned.

Secondly, if you have been banned, PMing members, staff, or global moderators probably isn't going to help, and is probably actually going to decrease your chance of being unbanned. You should have received an email for appealing your ban, and that's your best shot. The second best shot is to PM theymos, the forum admin, but that is a last resort and excessive PMs are likely to decrease your chance of being unbanned.

Thirdly, don't blame the forums because you broke it's rules. Your freedom of speech is not being violated. Freedom of speech means the government can't arrest you for what you say, not that a forum can't ban you because you're breaking it's rules. Spam is spam, and will get you banned because you're spamming, not because the staff enjoy censorship.

Finally, don't make threads in here about your ban if you can avoid it. These annoy everyone including the staff, and as mentioned before, are probably going to decrease your chance of getting unbanned.
1807  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for 4btc Loan will pay 6btc back on: April 28, 2014, 04:58:24 PM
A story that tries to pull on people's emotions combined with no collateral is even worse than making a loan request without collateral. Sorry, but I doubt you're going to get this loan.

Refer to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=577765.0
1808  Economy / Lending / Re: [REQ] Need small loan of 0.01 BTC, with LTC collateral. on: April 28, 2014, 04:56:03 PM
I need a small loan of 0.01BTC to the address 1EURoKkC27Yj4CbWfScVCKzqtmA3o5wCjN. I will repay in a maximum of five days. I can provide 0.5 LTC as collateral. Interest rate is up to you.

Sorry to ask, but why you just go and open cryptsy account and sell your ltc for btc and withdraw .. this should take less time then creating your first post ..or am I missing the point ?

You should read the "Why don't I sell my collateral" section here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=577765.0

That is mainly about physical collateral.

But ok I dont care what you do, its just that if you exchange your ltc to btc ... will cost you nothing. Doing it your way, you have to pay interest and create topic etc ..

good luck with your business plan Wink

No, it isn't. It's actually mostly about altcoin collateral - the widely preferred method. If you want to hold LTC and believe it's going to go up soon, you aren't going to want to risk losing out on a lot of money if you sell LTC while you need some extra BTC liquidity and then having to buy it back at a higher price or not buy it back at all. Quite a few people do 0% or low-interest loans when you offer significant LTC or stable alt-coin collateral.
1809  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos why do you allow scammers to continue to be bitcointalk staff ? on: April 28, 2014, 04:53:46 PM
I know that theymos has demoted scammers (or at least questionable, untrustworthy people who did something wrong) from staff ranks in the past, so you shouldn't be so quick to jump to the conclusion that he doesn't. Refer to xDeathwing, MNW, etc. He is probably looking at the evidence against or for davout, or he hasn't been made aware of the case ytet.
1810  Other / Meta / Re: ABUSE OF TRUST SYSTEM - whiskers75 on: April 28, 2014, 04:48:15 PM
Seems tysat has negbombed whiskers now. It's interesting that whiskers has two trusted positives from people yet tysat's was enough to put him in the red. Do people who are put directly on the trust list hold more weight to their feedback than the second tier trusted members?

No, I don't believe it matters. The negative feedback is fresh, meaning it weighs more I think, and the positive feedbacks are fresh with no risked BTC meaning they weigh less.
1811  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: QoinPro.com - Sign-up and get Free BTC, LTC, FTC every 24 hours automatically on: April 28, 2014, 06:21:20 AM
Added a little featured box about QoinPro on the homepage of freebitcoins.pw! It's a nice little faucet and it's definitely one of the more unique ones we've seen.
1812  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogechat - such webchat, free dogecoin - Amaze! on: April 28, 2014, 02:28:53 AM
Looks like the same drama that ruined coinchat is coming to this one but why not just let sleeping dogs lie?

Nah, CoinChat was ruined by a troll group and by TF scamming everyone. This is a case of someone who is on a power trip. I'm not the only person who has been banned simply for logging onto Dogechat, mind you. I could let sleeping dogs lie but I'm not much of a fan of that as it doesn't solve anything and just allows people to continue wreaking havoc.

Considering I also wasn't the aggressor in this case - I wouldn't say I'm the one provoking the hornet's nest. I'm just hitting back.

I understand. One should be allowed to speak their minds even if negatively especially if they are going about it in a peaceful manner. I hope you expose this guy for who he really is! I hate people who try to silence the truth.

To be honest all my negative encounters with chipug ended a looooong time ago. They're just starting back up today. I haven't been involved in anything to do with Dogechat/CoinChat for months and I only just logged in today to catch up with some CoinChat regulars. Apparently this is against the rules, because chipug is on a power trip and/or doesn't want me to tell the truth to other people.

Another thing - what gives you the right to zero out my balance (with the ban/nuke) because you dislike me/feel like it? It wasn't much, I'm aware, but this is more about the point of the fact you're zero'ing out people's balances for no valid reason - I'm eagerly awaiting a response.

Unfortunately there isn't. I think there is a bitcointalk application for phones out there, but I'm not entirely sure what it's called or whether it's for iOS or Android.
1815  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: April 28, 2014, 01:41:53 AM
Jesus, gweedo. Come down.

The device is real and awesome (I have one of the developer units). If slush and stick don't post here, there's probably nothing important to say and they and the other people helping them are probably putting their energy into solving the remaining issues, which I prefer.

Have some confidence and patience... The device will not become less useful over time.

But you agree that it is bad practice to annouce a certain deadline (ETA~) and then without much info, prolonging that deadline for months? I think that is the issue here mostly.

I agree that they could communicate a little more, but I understand that they want it to be perfect before releasing...

NO ! Freaking NO !

They will not come off this hook easily with anybody saying : "It needs to be perfectly secure , let them make it as good as possible , they don't have to give us details to every step."

This is not the issue and everybody should know this.

The fact that they are absolutely not communicating at all is simply astonishing and should everybody give a severe run around in their head.

These guys want to make a perfectly secure bitcoin hardware wallet. As it is at the moment they have to be very open about firmware, hardware , wallet software, so we the users have a reason to trust them and can feel safe.

But at the moment they are hiding facts from us, facts that are easy to communicate and probably most of us would understand.

Something Like "Sorry, manufacturing of the plastic cases is still iffy and will take some time."

But they are not doing it, they keep it secret and/or oversee this little detail.

This IS Important. I cannot trust them if they are operating like this. I simply cannot fathom it.

What if they find a "little" weakness in the trezor, that is small and probably not that exploitable but they possibly have to recall them. And they don't because it would cost money and time. And then somebody finds a way and BTC get lost ...

They are not open about anything with us and do not care about keeping us updated.

Most people say this is nitpicking and it probably is but this IS an Issue.

Sorry guys , you blew it , i cannot trust this device.

Phantastisch is completely correct here. When you're developing something like this (Trevor) you need to communicate as much as possible and stay transparent - if people are going to be trusting large sums of money with your hardware they need to know that the hardware is completely safe with no risks whatsoever.

I like what Trevor is doing but more communication needs to be given.
1816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Storj - Decentralized Storage on: April 28, 2014, 01:38:31 AM
Up to 1 GB/s? Sounds impressive. The design screenshots so far have been pretty sleek and I approve of any project which promotes decentralization, so keep up the good work and show us more updates as soon as you can!
1817  Economy / Lending / Re: [REQ] Need small loan of 0.01 BTC, with LTC collateral. on: April 28, 2014, 01:31:43 AM
Thank you! At last someone who is actually offering collateral which is actually usable as collateral for a loan!
1818  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CRYPTSY THIEVES on: April 28, 2014, 12:37:03 AM
I'm not being funny, as the thread is right now it's very hard to understand. Try and present your case in a way which is more understandable else we can't help you with it.
1819  Economy / Lending / Re: Locked keys in car, between jobs, need 1 Btc fast, pay 10% interest. on: April 27, 2014, 11:14:05 PM
With something trustworthy like PrimeDice it's basically a guaranteed $0.50 per constructive post. I don't encourage signature advertisements as they produce a lot of spam, but if you can make good contributions to the forum then you may want to consider it to help pay back the loan.
1820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogechat - such webchat, free dogecoin - Amaze! on: April 27, 2014, 07:30:46 PM

Damn, I really have to hand it to you - not only do you go past the regular level of censorship where I'm banned for expressing my thoughts, but you go 1 step further and ban me just because I logged in and talked to people about CoinChat - probably because you're scared about me expressing my thoughts, no?

To be honest, I did think you were better than that. No worries, to be honest, I'll still find a way to talk to the people I want to talk to. I actually just logged on to Dogechat to catch up with some people from CoinChat, and maybe get their Skype. Apparently that's not allowed, now? I'd like to request a reason for my ban, also. Just as I wanted to talk to bitvegas, convenient, isn't it?

I do believe the dialogue giving my reason for my ban went something like this, 2 messages before and no messages after:

chi: why are you here
chi: bye

Meaning being on Dogechat is an offense which you can be banned for. Well played, chipug, well played.

Anyone who wants to catch up with me from the old CoinChat or find some of the truth behind chipug, please feel free to add me @ HardMyDisk (Diamond - BTCVegas Project Leader) on Skype.

TL;DR: I was literally banned for logging into CoinChat because chipug is afraid of me expressing my opinions, or just incapable of handling any position of power.

Note to chipug: I actually didn't come to Dogechat to do any harm to it or you, but if you want me to expose you, I guess I'll just have to, won't I? You could just apologize for abusing your power...but we both know you're not going to.
