1823  Local / Brasil / Re: [Lista Exchanges Brasil] Contribua relatando sua experiência on: April 30, 2018, 06:35:31 PM

1824  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / what is ethereum bitcoin rival most valuable cryptocurrency by independent.co.uk on: April 30, 2018, 03:24:51 AM
The booming price of bitcoin over the last year has created a buzz around cryptocurrency that goes far beyond technology enthusiasts and free market libertarians.

It has also helped draw attention to a number of other virtual currencies looming in its shadow, most notably ethereum.

Ethereum was created in 2013 by a 19-year-old Russian programmer and launched in 2015. For the first two years its price remained below $10. Then, in 2017, it exploded. In the space of 12 months, one unit of the cyptocurrency – called an ether – surged in value to be worth around $1,400 at its peak in January 2018.

While its price has since fallen back down to around $700, many still see it as the most promising of all cryptocurrency platforms, and therefore the one that holds the most potential for future price gains. Some even believe it could one day surpass bitcoin.

“Ethereum has the possibility to overtake the market capitalisation, and thus value, of bitcoin,”  Hubert Olszewski, director of business development at Blockchain Board of Derivatives, tells The Independent. “This is because from the get-go it was a more versatile tool.”

When bitcoin became the world’s first decentralised digital currency upon its release in 2009, the world was reeling from the worst financial crisis in decades. So-called crypto-anarchists and others who were disillusioned by the recession hailed bitcoin for its ability to facilitate payments without the need for a bank. Essentially, they thought, it held the potential to revolutionise the global financial system.

Since bitcoin’s inception, more than 1,500 other cryptocurrencies have appeared in its wake. Each one has attempted to offer something that bitcoin can’t, with the argument being that bitcoin’s core technology contains a number a fundamental flaws that are being exposed as its network grows.

Could you explain again in lean terms?
Because it seems to be a copied and pasted text. I have not understood at all what this project is about and it is likely that much of what you wrote is already in their ANN, but you did not link it so I could check it out.
1826  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which ICOs do you plan to join in MAY on: April 30, 2018, 02:58:51 AM
I always follow the ICO for the team that is working on them, for the investors and for being unique projects. We have many projects that are just copy and past of others. And they serve only for pump and dump.
Some of the projects that will open ICO this month and appear to be solid projects are as follows:

  • BrickBlock
  • Sint
  • HashCard
  • Datablockchain
  • ARROUND
1827  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investment on: April 30, 2018, 02:50:42 AM
Maybe Bitcoin? Are you crazy? You should have always at least 20% invested on Bitcoin as it is the most solid project and with most liquidity.

Ethereum, Neo, Ripple, maybe EOS, and maybe Bitcoin.

Neo, Ripple, and EOS are too much centralized. If you want to invest in something that gives a platform I would suggest ADA and coins that gives master node as Solaris
1828  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TOKENSUITE NEW AIRDROP WEBSITE on: April 30, 2018, 02:16:40 AM
There are a few other methods, websites and tools to make airdrops. Some use facebook, twitter, reddit and even the telegram. I think the big advantage of Bitcointalk is that it brings together a lot of people who have seen everything in this market and can help when it becomes clear that it is a scam or a flawed project.

I believe that there will always be other alternatives, but bitcointalk will continue to be very relevant in everything that is about cryptocurrencies.

1830  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-04-28] Venezuela Shuts Down Two Cryptocurrency Exchanges on: April 29, 2018, 09:09:28 PM
Venezuela is a country downhill. The government has no idea what to do. It is clear that Bitcoin could become a threat to this dictatorship so they will do everything to stop it. For dictatorships, controlling money is as important as controlling people.

@HeyRhett

Yes I held primecoin because I thought it was undervalued.  Much less than 1% of total supply.  I still hold it and other cryptocurrency including BTC, ETH, DOGE, BTCP

Apparently after ICO, rebrands, and Forks. Merged is the new thing people do to make some money with pump and dump
1832  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-04-27] IBM to Use Proof-of-Work for Blockchain IoT Devices on: April 28, 2018, 12:17:17 AM
If they are betting on POW, it means they value the security provided rather than the costs involved. DAG and PoS would be more economical, more scalable and dynamic. But we still do not have any that come close to demonstrating the resistance that POW, especially Bitcoin, has demonstrated over the years.
1833  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency Billionaire Dies on: April 27, 2018, 07:22:27 AM
99% of all the bitcoin is owned by 1% of all the users.

Bitcoin is an improvement to the monetary system only in efficiency. The main issue of the previous fiat currencies is more abundant in Bitcoin which is the concentration of the elites wealth making all other users slaves for the system.
Fair distribution and manipulation proof are the most important elements needed.

www.bitcoinb.io

This is a lie that has been repeated thanks to the transparency and anonymity provided by Bitcoin. Having few addresses with many Bitcoin just means that we have many currencies in exchanges.

Now, of course, those who have subsidized development, and bet that Bitcoin would have value in the future, have a significant amount today.

But this is the result of a capitalist economy.

I think the most important issue here is that you do not need as many transactions per second as some people have imagined. With a much smaller number, we can see the relevance that this company has globally in a centralized system and of little access for a great part of the population.

With this new number, we can imagine that Bitcoin will be a relevant competitor among means of payment in no more than two years.
1835  Economy / Speculation / Re: 82% of Institutional Crypto Investors Believe Bitcoin Price Has Bottomed on: April 27, 2018, 06:53:49 AM
There is no such story as Bitcoin Price Has Bottomed. We are not in a conventional economy. Bitcoin's main concern is still regulation and how governments and society will see it. Just as it is impossible to predict how far it will go.

  • What if there is a small country adopting bitcoin as reserves, just like the dollar?
  • What if we have a small country in Africa deciding that any international exchange between their companies should be done with Bitcoin?
  • What if Trump decides to end it all?

The future is uncertain and this is wonderful.

Amigo, desenvolva melhor tuas ideias.

What civil plan then they try to achive if you don't mind me asking?

I believe what creditors are aiming at is a "liquidation civil rehabilitation" where basically the company is still liquidated and dissolved, but unlike bankruptcy distribution of assets as is instead of cash is possible. Also, the fact we'd be changing process now would cause re-evaluation of the claims, a new claim filing window, etc.
https://www.reddit.com/user/MagicalTux

MagicalTux has made an AMA saying that he believes "liquidation civil rehabilitation" would be better because people could receive BTC instead of cash. I think if they have already cash out sufficient money to pay to everyone, it would be better give what is left in BTC, sell again and give cash would be horrible to everyone.
