So, we've had a tiny little euro ATH - Bitstamp 54267€. From east to west the ATH's are falling - Japan, Pakistan (poor Raja waiting for crash to 12k to rebuy from 50K, when he proud(hon)ly sold everything), Turkey (poor mindrust) and EU. Next is the $ ATH. This is the way.

Beware HoDLers! If you want to keep your sanity, do not -- I repeat -- DO NOT sell any moderate to large chunks of coin now. The imminent and inevitable mega-rise to stratospheric price levels, this year and the next, will make you want to kill yourself and will eventually transform you into a r0ach-like entity, trying desperately to make some sense out of your senseless decision, which will haunt you until you die. This is serious. It will mess you up badly, as it did mindrust (check out his latest posts to see what I mean).

I'll close with a #haiku that captures the essence of what I'm saying:

When you own Bitcoin,
Like Hotel Carolina,
You can NEVER leave!

Well said!  Cool

Is a shitcoiner considered a nocoiner?

I'm trying to save myself from something dumb I may have said.

It wasn't dumb IMO. The speaker being an important, famous guy in the cryptocurrency world doesn't make him less of a nocoiner if he holds no btc. Even further, if hypothetically someone held, say, 100$ of shitcoins and 0.5$ of corn, I would stretch the term a bit and call them shit-nocoiners. On the contrary, someone holding 100$ of btc and 0.5 of shitcoins could be called a no-shit coiner.

Can a doge investor like savetherainforest guy be considered a dogshit-coiner?  Grin

What I find odd is that alts are doing nothing. ETC is not climbing like this and LTC is at .003 to Bitcoin. It's been .004 all summer and was around .01 last year.

So there is a decoupling here. Odd.

Seems entirely plausible to me.

Fiat -> Bitcoin
Bitcoin -> major alts
Major Alts -> shitcoins fest

The ones who understand, get rich.

Shitcoin Shills -> GTFO!  Cool

Good morning Bitcoinland.

The battle for $60k rages on... currently $60046USD/$74282CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

As a Wall Observer, observing that wall at $61.5k on Stamp makes me think we might be going sidewayish for a little while. Hopefully I'm wrong and we'll blow right past it.

Go Bitcoin go.

This time wanna take profits.

I'll take my profits in Bitcoin thank you.

This!  Cool

Where are we heading to? 2017/18 we were expecting 10k to hardly break and then we shot to 20k. This time we have big players in the game who probably gonna take profits earlier?

I think I will start to sell 1% now, 2% at 60k€, 3% at 70k€ and so on. 2013 I was a newbie. 2017 I fell for the "you never sell Bitcoin" talk and seen it dumping 80%. This time wanna take profits.

Wrong. Quote: 2017/18 we were expecting 10k to hardly break and then we shot to 20k.

So what are you expecting this time? If $100k then you're probably right. As to me, $200k is a minimum price I expect. So no selling below $100k.  Cool

I am expecting 200k as well as minimum. But as I said, we have different players in the game. I do not tend to trust rich people. So I would not wonder if for example Michael Saylor would dump all his coins on us while telling us that Bitcoin is the future etc. See what Musk did. Even though that was a favor long term.

But you really believe it that Saylor can/will sell his coins below $100k? It's vice versa actually: billionaires are smarter than most people (ok on average) they can see it coming, billionaires don't take meager profits, billionaires don't need FIAT money they have boatloads of filthy fiat etc etc... so if he's going to sell it's not gonna happen soon. Bitcoin is a hedge, you don't have to convert it to fiat. Instead, you should convert fiat to Bitcoin....  Cool

Heh! That's one vaccine no one would object getting. My DNA is ready.

Us, hodlers, we already have this in our DNA. Got it at birth. Don't ask me how. But we are protected from this collapse which is coming. We are immune.  Cool

Some observations from things I've learned mostly this year. In addition to much of the information I learn from you guys here I've watched quite a number of interviews, videos and live streams from the likes of Michael Saylor, PlanB, Max Kaiser, InvestAnswers, CryptosRUs, that pomp guy from the best business show, some Kitco stuff etc mostly during this year.
Much of what I've seen people say seems to fall into line with news headlines and things happening here in the UK and beyond from what I can gather:

  • Ridiculous inflation figures (has a major effect on the rest of the stuff in this list)
  • Soaring energy prices around the world due to green levies and political games. Moving to EVs will add huge demand also.
  • Lack of employees due to dumb vaccination mandates, low reward for hard work in many places. It's simply innate for humans to take the easiest route to anything. Working from home allows people to spend more time to think about investments and check coinmarketcap every 5 mins.
  • Increase in pensions and social security payments
  • Acceptance of BTC by financial institutions and possible ETF soon
  • Governments' financial arms too slow to react to something that is now far too big to really ban and we've heard this will probably not happen anyway quite recently
  • Gold being a piece of crap and not even adjusting to inflation over a 10 year period.
  • Banks being laughably useless; high street presence disappearing and no reward for savers, in some cases it now costs money to have a couple of bank accounts.
  • The difficulty to still be able to invest in property, slowly out of reach for the average Joe; partly due to already substantial gains. They tried some crowd funding / split property investment stuff here in the UK but it never took off from what I can gather. Yet you can still buy $100 in BTC whether it's today, 10 years ago or 10 years in the future.
  • Most tech stocks seem to be stagnating and just look boring now. Maybe not enough is happening with the likes of Facebook, Apple etc. Just doing the same thing every year etc. Some lack of innovation perhaps. There might still be gains with the likes of Tesla. InvestAnswers is bullish on it. The software side of Tesla might prove to be a big asset in the future. We will see. Not much else I am excited about. Maybe energy companies though.

All this HAS to mean much, much more of this:

I think we will see a new ATH in the next 2-3 weeks at the latest.

100K BTC isn't far off, maybe a month, two or three. Once we have a new ATH things could move fast.
Doubt we will see the PlanB / Max Kaiser figures of 288-400K within the next 4 months or so but I reckon we are in for a 500-650K BTC within 5 years and a $1-1.75 million BTC probably a few years after that (before 2030).

Obviously I'd be happy if the S2F model turns out to be a near exact indicator for the future. We will see. I'm not 100% convinced about that.

Lesson I've learned from the previous cycles: never underestimate the honey badger! Otherwise you can get REKT really easy. So always ask yourself: can x4 or x5 be considered parabolic? Can a blowoff top happen like x2 from a local top?  Cool

$200-250k is BEARISH for the top of this cycle really....  and if we take into account the inflation and all the points you have mentioned in your post it's EXTREMELY BEARISH.  Cool

Haha found this funny article: https://www.forbes.com/sites/adamhartung/2017/08/15/a-bitcoin-is-worth-4000-why-you-probably-should-not-own-one/?sh=40081f113b08

Pay attention to the date it was published (Aug 2017). The conclusion was the best part haha:

Quote
Unless you are a professional trader, or you simply want to gamble, stay away from Bitcoins.  They have no inherent value, because they are a currency which represents value rather than having value themselves.  The Bitcoin currency is not managed by any government agency, nor is it backed by any government.  Bitcoin values are purely dependent upon holders having faith they will continue to have value.  Right now the market looks a lot more like tulip mania than careful investing.

So beware guys, Bitcoin is a bubble.  Grin
I am curious what he will do after he sees this bubble Grin

Maybe he is crying not involving in bitcoin.

There must be thousands of such articles. That one was published in Forbes, which is prestigious, but I think a compilation of articles warning that Bitcoin had no intrinsic value and the like would be enough to write a book.

Btw, thanks to xhomerx10 for designing my new hat.
I wonder if he got paid to make that article and tell the public that bitcoin is not worth the investment because, as an expert, he should search for more info about bitcoin before writing the article. Many articles about the bad investment in bitcoin, but the author does not know anything about bitcoin and does not follow the bitcoin journey from the beginning until now.

It seems the guy got fired after publishing this article (or 3 months later) as his employers understood he know shit about the topic   Grin
