Observing $40,000.

We still alive in this bull run or dead cat?

Well don't care as long as we stay over 40k for the day.

Tomorrow we can push up and over to say 45k.

Maybe it is Facebook  stock money running to btc safety!

You don't have to be a genius to see that you should DUMP stocks, fiat, gold etc and buy BTC ASAP! Every sane person understands this. Or not yet?  Cool

Time for bears to admit defeat, grab what they can and hold on for the ride.

Nah, I'm getting the feeling that a longish bear period is ahead of us, unfortunately.

That didn't age well...  Grin Grin

@hisslyness, @cAPSLOCK
Wow, that would be quite a headstart! Your kind offer is gratefully appreciated.
Amazon says it will take a few days to get all the stuff: some items are backordered.
After that, my first free half day will be dedicated to installation and configuration.

I know I'm currently docked with cAPSLOCK, not sure i've got a connection with hisslyness, but I'll open a 5M sat channel with your node when you get it configured.

hisslyness, drop me a PM if you're interested in a connection, if we aren't connected already.

The WO Lightning Cartel in the making!  Grin

Not going to lie...  The market technicals look pretty bad.  A retrace to $33K seems almost certain and I'd put the odds of seeing $29K at about 65% and the odds of hitting sub-$10K at about 35%.  This is either the mother of all bear traps before we explode upwards, or we will retrace back to the levels before this recent boom, similar to 2018.  What concerns me is that I don't believe Bitcoin has ever fallen below the previous cycle's high before.  At least not that I can remember off the top of my head.  Now that the stock to flow model has been invalidated, I think it could be catastrophic for Bitcoin to break the higher levels every cycle trend as well.  The fundamentals have never been stronger and there's so much positive news in the pipeline it's hard to think all the momentum behind Bitcoin could come to a halt, but charts tend to tell the truth pretty accurately of what's to come.  Personally, I'm still hoping for $100K Bitcoin this year, but I think the odds of that happening are fairly low.  All eyes on regulation as we see if the Biden administration is going to stop companies from grabbing up all the Bitcoin for the balance sheets and sending the price moonward as they control the market.

Pff... what a pathetic bear! 35% chance of seeing sub-$10k? In case of "US bans Bitcoin" possibly yes. Otherwise what a load of BS! What market technicals? Why a retrace to $33k seems so certain to you? Can you explain?  Cool

I swear these EthTards just can't code!

I really can't wait until it goes fuill retard with the Piece of shit protocol and implodes.

In Second Largest DeFi Hack Ever, Blockchain Bridge Loses $320M Ether

The network has over $1 billion in total value locked and supports six blockchains: Terra, Solana, Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, Avalanche and Polygon

It is funny that most peeps think that eth team consists of skilled and high level programmers. In reality they are just a bunch of enthusiasts. So many hacks, forks, bugs, high fees, sidechains, testnets failures, etc. And Vitalik mocking the high fees of Bitcoin is the cherry of the cake. The only good thing is that the hash functions are relatively asic resistant, which allows mining Bitcoin with gpus. No wonder they hate the miners and since the creation of eth devs promise the switch to POS. Which someone noted here stands for proof of shit. Grin

I'm sure that was another inside job. Greedy conmen.  Cool

I think I'm finally seeing The Lightning Network how things are viewed in The Matrix, with all that scrolling code. I don't see the scrolling code any more. All I see is the circle jerk in realtime between kelo and ln.nicehash.com on my Umbrel node, and this shit is better than porn holy cow!!!

Following your Lightning Adventures closely. Have you managed to make your node profitable? Or at least break even?  Cool

everyone in Canada thinks those truckers are complete idiots.  Plus a lot are out of fuel in Ottawa, freezing in their cabs.  Brought kids, but no food.  The border crossing is even more idiotic, considering they are mostly blocking their fellow truckers from getting home/working.  Even the trucker association called them out for being complete morons.  Opposition parties tried to get some steam by supporting them, then quickly backtracked after they realized how dumb this whole thing is.  Bitcoin ?  Bitcoin ?!?  99% of those people hate bitcoin and probably think its a lizard-alien-freemason conspiracy or some shit.

We risk drifting into a taboo conversation here.. but I would argue that the statement "Everyone thinks those truckers are complete idiots" is not entirely correct:

So, if I got it right, you're implying that people being or not being idiots depends on the number of people? The more idiots support you the less idiot you yourself become? Mmmmmkay....  Grin Grin Grin

I personally think the right to protest is EXTREMELY important...

I totally agree... unless you're protesting during a pandemic, which is a terrible idea...  Cool

Would be interesting to hear from miners. How's profitability doing? With electricity prices going up and BTC price down is mining sustainable?
1614  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 01, 2022, 07:17:15 PM

Most of the cooling equipment (fans/vents/ducts/etc) I bought for my mining farm was being marketed for grow tents. I bet my garage would light up on a drone infrared camera like a damn volcano. My electric bill was probably higher than the rest of the street combined. I'm quite surprised no fuzz came knocking during all those years.

Eventually I decided to put that excess heat to good use (tomatoes and strawberries and stuff). So I bought grow lights and the whole thing was glowing pink-purple. Still nothing.

Haha... hilarious... btw wasn't it a little bit too loud too? Or bearable? Could you hear it humming from your room?  Cool

Perhaps the paper hands who sold twice in the last year at a loss are starting to feel again the urge to FOMO back in. "Third time is a charm" they say. As the train is leaving the station, the peeps waiting for <30K are scratching their heads. "What if this was the bottom and the thrain never returns to this station again?" - this thought is haunting their minds. (Biting nails and resisting the urge to buy higher than the sold price. Calculating the missed profits day after day. Until one day the FOMO urge is so strong that they succumb to the temptation and press the buy button. Usually this happens after several months of new ATHs. And the buy trade is made just a few hours before the next correction starts, which brings the FUD again and the next registered 30%+ sell loss is the final result.) This is the short story how some get poor by trading, because they are led by their love for fiat and lack of understanding for Bitcoin.  Wink

Exactly! Very few understand that the old 4 year old cycle/pattern is dead. We are on the verge of something entirely new. Yearly cycles? Biannual cycles? No cycles? One huge BTC vs hyperinflation wave? Who knows...  Cool

Russia had given assurances that if Ukraine gave back its nuclear weapons, its territorial integrity would be guaranteed.
According to the same treaty Russia and US have given assurances that Ukraine will be neutral. In 2014 Ukraine lost its neutrality. One of the first decrees of the Kiev's junta was to apply for NATO membership.

AFAIK, NATO is not accepting new member states which are at war or have part of their territory occupied.  Cool
1618  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 31, 2022, 08:17:46 PM

Some stats for context, 67% population of Crimea were ethnic Russians, 80% of population spoke Russian as their primary language, and naturally this is how they voted, Yanukovych (blue) was the pro Russian president that ended up winning

Current military conflict is in the two regions that voted 91% and 93% for pro Russian president.

So Hm: based on the voting patterns one could make a pretty reasonable assumption that the area of "land" just above Ukraine, to the right of Poland, and below Lit/Latvia/Estonia would probably be pretty highly "Pro someone other than Russia". Would Russia be ok in ceding that territory in exchange for the areas that voted Russian in the Ukraine?

After all it is geography....

Doesn't make sense. I doubt that Kaliningrad would vote to join/get annexed by any country and such voting could hardly be possible at all. I presume it's populated mostly by Russians?  Cool
