I agree, old stars like Messi and Ronaldo are still great, no doubt, but their time is already approaching and eventually, they will be replaced by a much younger stars like the ones you've mentioned that will be playing after their retirement. There's no need to fret about the situation because that's the reality in this world and they won't be playing in the upcoming years as they will become more and more older.

Regarding the next FIFA World Cup, Messi is the one who will likely play compared to Ronaldo because aside from the difference of their age, Messi won't let the situation slide because they are the defending champs and he have every right to play in that historical event. He will be 39 or 40 years old by that time, but I know he's still to play and give the team some help when they needed it.
Maybe both of them can still play the next World Cup as the last one of their careers. They can't play the whole 90 minutes of a match with all the energy and stamina they were used to, as we have already seen in Qatar, but the coach can use them smartly during some strategical moments of the games. It seems a much better idea to have Messi and Ronaldo on the bench, than some random players who are there just to fill the gaps. About Messi, specifically, I'm sure he will be able to at least raise the morale of the national team if he is there side by side with them.

That is if Cristiano Ronaldo still plays professionally by the time the next World Cup will commence because he will be already turning 38 years old next month, February, which means that he would be around 42 years old in the next FIFA World Cup in America. But who knows, right? Messi on the other hand got more chances to play because he's much younger than CR7, it will be a pride for the team if he can still play and defend the championship.
1862  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco on: January 10, 2023, 05:40:35 PM
Just like other fans, I'm gonna be biased here and will root for Loma. Maybe he is passed his prime but his IQ is still there and 34 isn't old enough as other boxers at his age are still doing pretty well too. Let's not forget Pacquiao passed his prime and still manage to win by a split decision at age 40.
No, 34 years old is still prime age... I would say 40 years old is where their power and stamina are greatly decrease. Just look GGG is still active fighting and he would likely want to challenge a champion at 40 years old.

Although Haney has all the advantage, reach, size, youth except I think is the experience where Loma has the advantage, many believes that the fighting style and ring adaptiveness of Loma is superb,  I also want to see Loma win this upcoming fight.
Yeah, Loma was built different, I don't find any good boxer that similar with him because most of them has reach advantage and young. So much respect to Loma even though he doesn't own any title anymore, it's his time to get back all his titles after losing to Lopez.

But GGG's wear and tear is somehow evident and he's not that agile anymore compared to his younger years or when he was still under 35 years old considering that he's already at the age of 40, but considering that age, GGG can still move well and give some good punch that will question his opponent if he's indeed already 40 years old. Murata is a good example for that.

Regarding this fight, I know you guys are rooting for Loma here but I will go for the opposite camp where Haney is situated. Just can't help to be with the kid especially after seeing some of his fights, recently. He's just too confident because he's good at technical and his defense are quite impressive as well.
1863  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 10, 2023, 05:19:08 PM
It appears we have another boxer who will be very exciting similar to how Manny Pacman was during his challenges in different weight divisions. However, Naoya Inoue's mission is to be the first male boxer to unify all championships in 2 different divisions. According to this article he mentioned that he will be in the ring again on April or May! I speculate him to challenge Akhmadaliev first, before a unification superfight against Stephen Fulton on December.

He also mentioned that his body can reach the limit to featherweight.

Naoya Inoue became the ninth fighter to unify all four major titles in boxing's four-belt era.

Inoue is now looking to become the only male fighter to accomplish the feat in two weight classes.

"I believe I'm going to aim for it," Inoue said. "We'll need to develop a thorough plan."

The Japanese star will be heading up to 122-pounds, after knocking out British fighter Paul Butler in eleven rounds to unify the IBF, WBO, WBA, WBC world bantamweight titles.

Inoue plans to return on a date in April or May of the coming year.

The world titles at 122-pounds are owned by two undefeated fighters, Uzbekistan's Murodjon Akhmadaliev and Stephen Fulton of the United States - with each boxer holding two belts.

Source https://www.boxingscene.com/naoya-inoue-i-go-far-featherweight--171207

Glad to know that he's already having a fight in the 2nd quarter of this year, makes me wonder who it is.

I believe he can do that feat soon and will be the first male boxer/fighter to unite all belts in two different division. But he's still have a long way to go despite the perks he has where he can go directly to the champions and I'm viewing the opposite thing where Inoue will chase Fulton first instead Akhmadaliev. WBO also gave Inoue the super-champion title so that there will be no issues if their camp will decide to face Fulton.
1864  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 10, 2023, 04:54:11 PM
They still have a lot of room to improve in this season for the evolution that you're saying, they should stick with their current roster though so that they can develop more depth in their roster that can help the team just like what happened with the Celtics. It will take some time of course but that really depends on the players and looking at the Kings now, I can agree that maybe they will reach and play in the playoffs.
Your analogy, talking about Celtics was excellent.
I believe that most of Boston's current players, they started early and with that, some players were polished over time playing for the Celtics, and the result is what is happening today, the Celtics have evolved and become an excellent team , of course, he is not superior to the Celtics when Garnett, Allen, Pierce and Rondo played at that time

Another interesting point is that the Celtics have become a good team to bet on, because they are currently winning with a certain frequency, not to mention performance (29w / 12L)

I agree with you guys, the depth of the Celtics is really something and time has really marinated their chemistry that's why we can see that the level of their trust with each other is so different. Plus, their unexpected performance in the last playoff until the Finals was so impressive which gave them so much experience to evolve more. Looking at them now, it's almost certain that they will participate again in the upcoming playoffs and maybe chase the championship title again. Let's see!
1865  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 10, 2023, 04:31:15 PM
Durant misses at least two weeks, that would be a huge loss to BKN. They rather choose losing to Miami than losing Durant. Just when he broke another record and went up one more place in all time top scorers list, he could've gone one more place next game. I hope he'll return healthy soon.
Kyrie is playing great lately so I don't expect many losses from Brooklyn in this period. Sure Kyrie will use the ball more and Simmons should take more responsibility. T.J. Warren and Watanabe will get more playing time. Coach Vaughn will find a way to win games, Nets have a good squad. I don't think they'll go down just like Suns.

Injuries really spoil the good rally of a team. That was unfortunate to happen now that the team is getting a good winning streak and this is the first time, that their drama stars are working together as a team with no issues or drama or what.

Good thing though that it happened this elimination and not in playoffs.

In the meantime, expect that Irving will do his job in covering what Durant will miss.

The good thing is Durant will be back in less time compared to the expected one month of being sidelined according to the report. The only thing that is left is for them to make up for the 30pts that Durant makes every game. When Durant was out last season, they had an 11-losing streak. Hope they find their rhythm without Durant this time since they are doing very fine this season. It means they have put down the drama.

That's not yet sure if he will indeed comeback much earlier this time and not the whole month expectation, Durant's timeline is not yet discussed because he will be needing some re-evaluation first in the next two weeks. If it will turn out great then it will be safe to assume that a 1 month rest will be too long for him but if that suspected injury is really serious, I guess he will be needing few more weeks. I just hope that it's not that serious though, a game is much interesting to see if the role players are complete.
1866  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: January 10, 2023, 04:01:39 PM
So it is official that Ryan Garcia and Tank Davis will be fighting this year on April 15. This will undoubtedly be a major sporting event this year. I am excited about this fight! Though I don't watch boxing except when Manny Pacquiao fights, this fight looks really good because Ryan is mostly what I saw on social media and Tank was in the Mayweather promotion. Though the power of Tank is very different, as is how defensive he is, but Ryan has the height and reach advantage.

Thanks for sharing this information, so finally! This fight is going to push through as the fight schedule has been established already, do you guys have already picked some sides? Well, if you ask me, I'd seriously go with Davis. IQ and experience will still be the dominant factor in almost every fight, and I don't think that Davis will have some hard time here because of the size advantage of Garcia because this is not his first time fighting such boxer that is taller than him.
1867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Bearish market the right time to buy coins? on: January 10, 2023, 03:42:02 PM
As a general sentiment YES! As Warren buffet has said ypu need to buy when people are fearful and sell when people are greedy.  It's easy buying into a market when it's at the top but the whole point is price appreciation then why wouldn't ypu want to buy when prices are extremely low.  People were buying bitcoin at $50k nothing has changed fundamentally since then so why wouldn't you buy bitcoin at $17k?

I agree, I mean, when would be the best time, if the market already recovered and prices are already skyrocketing? That's wrong because some people are already reaping the profits while you, is still waiting for the next hype train because you have just bought and accumulated some. That only shows that people doesn't really know what and when to take advantage because they are just waiting for the hype to happen before they make a move, and in that time, people will start to regret.
1868  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: January 09, 2023, 02:18:27 PM
I think it's a good idea to have 2 countries or even more hosting the World Cup because one country maybe don't have all the infrastructure to make the whole World Cup, and it helps football spreading in even more countries.
But my ideal of World Cup would be every 2 years instead of 4 and with 32 countries.

It is a good method for the development of infrastructures and increasing interest in football, but the same may not be true for footballers whose travel times will increase. If the distance between stadiums increases, group matches and final matches can have a tiring tempo. I think FIFA should pay attention to this.

On the other hand, it is a very good idea to organize the World Cup every two years. In this way, we will be able to watch some football players more. For example, the probability of Messi playing in the next World Cup is very low. However, if the World Cup organization was held every two years, we could definitely watch Messi once again.

2026 World Cup Many big stars may not be able to participate in the World Cup due to age restrictions.  There are many other big stars like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo who will not be able to play in the World Cup in 2026.  In this case, although they want to, their age is the biggest obstacle.  Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, who are now young, will not be able to maintain this youth in 2026, their speed will slow down.  And getting the ball into the opposing team's net will not be possible later as it is now.  The two legends of the football world have very little chance of participating in the 2026 World Cup.

It is a natural process and nothing to worry about. The old stars will be replaced by some new stars, as always.
I personally expect that the main stars at the next world championship will be young players like Fati, Rodrygo, Haaland, Martinelli and others, and who says that they won't worthy replace Messi and Ronaldo?
Of course, Mbappe is also there, and there are rumors that Messi could also play at the next World Cup.
Regardless of who ends up playing, we're in for another great World Cup in soccer.

I agree, old stars like Messi and Ronaldo are still great, no doubt, but their time is already approaching and eventually, they will be replaced by a much younger stars like the ones you've mentioned that will be playing after their retirement. 1869  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We have been told: Invest only Extra money in bitcoin on: January 09, 2023, 01:48:50 PM
We have been told many times to invest only funds which you can afford to lose in bitcoins. But the question is that most of us do not have that extra funds to invest. So, what we do is we buy bitcoins from our savings, and from whatever money we get, we try to buy bitcoins. Middle class people do not have that EXTRA money WHICH THEY CAN"T AFFORD TO LOSE.

Yes, i invest in bitcoins but it is not EXTRA money and I am afraid I can't afford to lose. Do you have that EXTRA money that you can afford to lose  Huh

Investing towards bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies is truly a delicate matter especially for the middle class people, like me. It's given that we don't really have that spare funds that we can afford to lose, that's why it is really important to know the coins first that we are investing into and always do your own research before investing in such coins because the risks will always be there as the coins are so volatile.
1870  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 09, 2023, 01:13:40 PM
I'm thinking of betting on the Denver Nuggets tomorrow with a spread of -9. What do you think? is it a good idea betting against a streaking LA Lakers. On paper, you can tell that Nuggets are very good at home and no one can stop Jokic, but can they cover that spread?
Not a bad idea as the Nuggets are 8-2 on their last 10. They are also the strongest team with high offensive power this season, so the spread might be reached.

Lebron can still produce 30 points or more as I don't see someone who can stop Lebron, but other defenders can stop Lebron's teammates, so I think the Nuggets has the advantage here. What I don't like about the Nuggets is that they are inconsistent, sometimes they give up their big lead, so that would be risky because Lakers might be able to cover the spread.

This is a gamble actually, IMO, we can find another match-up that is easier to cap.

For example, like the Bucks on the road, I think they can beat the home team as Knicks is not a great team.

The Nuggets inconsistency makes them more unpredictable because a serious Jokic and Gordon will definitely dominate the team they are up against, while the Lakers are questionable as well if they can defeat the Nuggets even without AD on board except for LeBron because the man has been consistent since his rookie year. But I guess there will be no struggles in that part because Thomas Bryant is stepping up his game.

As for the Bucks vs Knicks match-up, the latter's chance to win is not that good as Barrett will not be playing in the said game. But we'll see, the league has been quite unpredictable since the season commenced.
1871  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Digital dollar a threat to Bitcoin ? on: January 09, 2023, 12:21:23 PM
It's a tricky one, but I absolutely believe that the digital dollar poses a threat to bitcoin. There is a possibility that the federal government will enact absurd taxes and restrictions. There are a number of ways in which this could negatively impact bitcoin owners, and even lead to a desire to sell their assets. As a result, the Fed will provide bitcoin owners with a tempting offer to convert their funds to the digital dollar at an initial one-to-one exchange rate that will eventually depreciate.

Yes, it is a tricky one to say. But I'm viewing the opposite thing where it is the digital dollar (government) who views bitcoin as their enemy and poses a threat and not the other way around. Governments around the world won't be creating such thing like digital currencies if bitcoin is not stressing them out, just like China, they have banned the use of it because they don't know yet how it really works because they cannot control it as well. But they can't blind the people nowadays because eventually, these digital currencies will depreciate because they aren't designed to avoid inflation.
1872  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 09, 2023, 11:58:17 AM
It's looking good for the Chicago Bulls and for their fans out there.
3rd a winning streak. Zach LaVine is sizzling hot. Yesterday 41 points were against the 76ers and now a hot 36 points against the Jazz and defeating them in the process. That's a back-to-back game for him and yet there's no trace of exhaustion.
With him playing like this with most of their games, they will go back to a higher seed in speed. Now, they are sitting at the 9th spot but that should not stop there.
Their next stop is against the Boston Celtics on the road, it will be a rough game for them. Offensive duos will clash at TD Garden.

With the help of DeRozan and their strong center, Vucevic, the Chicago Bulls will now slowly climb in the ladder back to the top of the Easter Conference. Their last 3 games are not that easy to pull off but they still managed to do it and bring the team a W at the end of the day. But they haven't fought the best teams in the league yet and tomorrow they will be having a taste of that by playing against the Celtics.
1873  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A superstitious strategy? on: January 09, 2023, 11:36:17 AM
Most gamblers must have went through this, sometimes luck appears to be your side specially in games like casino war or dice.

Today, morning I was playing casino war, I just use martingale - I know it's lame strategy. But I won most of time.

Then later at noon, luck just didn't appear to be on my side. A constant losses with win every once in a while to recoup the losses and then losing streak, all funds gone.

Now, let's be some superstitious and say, if you play only when luck appears to be on your side, would you call that a good strategy?

I do not know how you will apply that strategy to your games. You still have to try your luck first before you can know if it is on your side or not.

Some people have their rituals before they start playing. They believe they will give them luck. It is their way to prepare themselves and be more focused on their game thus winning more or others may say attracting luck.

I do not do that. I just play and enjoy it.

That's more like it. Let's just try to enjoy our game with our without knowing if that stated luck is on our side because we have our own reasons too why we play at the casinos in the first place, some of us just want to blow off some steam after a long day at work and some are trying to get some profits while trying to entertain themselves and that's where the luck is important. But if you're that gambler who's just looking for a past time, I doubt that luck is really that important to you.
1874  Economy / Speculation / Re: How we know btc not going to 100$ ?? on: January 08, 2023, 01:20:17 PM
We never know for sure, but $100 is very cheap compared to the current price, in order for that to happen, there should be a massive panic that people will sell their holdings just to get out in the crypto space. The thing is, when bitcoin is down, the entire market is affected, so that means altcoins will drop as well and i don't know if crypto would still be able to recover.

Man,I just can't imagine seeing bitcoin price that low.  Sad

We don't know what will be the outcome of this game 5, but we all know that it is Sunday game and we will see another huge number of fans to attend and support their teams.

As expected, Gin Kings had the lead now, an 11 points lead to be exact, but of course, the game is not yet over, we still have the 2nd half, let's see if the Bay Area will be able to come back to make it an exciting game.

By the way guys, I miss the spread on this game, for those who were able to bet, may Know what was it?

They are still ahead now actually, they seem to control this game. By the way, Kobe Lam was very limited here, they found a way to shut him down and the Bay Area is having a problem with where to get the points necessary to win. Looks like its already written in the script, Nicholson might be able to play game 6 to tie the series, that's my prediction.
That's a great prediction and yes possible to happen, they are playing according to the script. Well, Ginebra is doing a great job right now with a good lead they just need to continue this momentum and be consistent, Its good for Ginebra to limit the key players of Bay Area, there's a high chance for them to get the game 5 here. I was not able to place a bet because of a busy schedule, I might catch up in game 6 where Bay Area is expected to bounce back.

Game 6 will be this Wednesday, that's a lot of time for Nicholson to continue the healing process. He is necessary to be in the game as Ginebra had already figured out how to beat the Bay Area Locals. What we have seen in game 5 is a collective effort, Gin Kings does not really too much on Brownlee, some locals are doing a great job especially Pringle who had his old game back.

Lam only had 16 points, while Blankley had a night with 29 points.

I'll be curious to watch the Kings vs Lakers game tonight.

James scored over 30 points once again, and his teammates (Bryant, Schroder, and Westbrook) also had good performances. As a result, the Lakers beat the Kings by only 2 points, and that's their 5th win in a row. However, the Lakers are still in 12th place in the standings, but this winning streak has clearly improved their position, as the win/loss difference between the 5th and 12th place in the Western Conference is small now.

Kings have no interior defense, they were even outrebounded by Bryant alone, I think Bryant showed th best game in the season so far. I didn't expect the outcome, I was expecting that the Kings will be very aggressive and will win at home against the Lakers who played a back to back game. And by the way, Lakers continued their winning streak, great job for this team.
1878  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 08, 2023, 12:59:14 AM
Here's my pick, I have put a bet on them earlier,

Spurs vs Celtics - as others said, the odds are somewhat weird, so I'm going on Spurs +12.5 on this game. Celtics is the best team in the East, and they could win this game but not cover the initial spread.
There's a chance but it doesn't look good right now, at the half time the Celtics are already leading 11 points. Spurs needs to come back in the 2nd half to be able to at least cover the spread.

+15.5 Spurs is currently the spread in live betting.

You are lucky if you take that spread, the spread was already down to a single digit, and based on what I see, there's a chance that the home team will cover the spread. +15.5 is a good steal IMO, well, I think Celtics will win but that -15.5 is definitely hard to cover unless they'll have a huge run and the Spurs will not respond.
1879  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: January 08, 2023, 12:37:22 AM
As far as the latest reports I have seen regarding the status of Nicholson, his status is still questionable if he can play on Game 5.

Regardless, seems the Dragons do awaken their inner strength as they were able to win without their import.

Not sure though if the same winning case again will happen in Game 5 if they will still play without an import.

I think he will still not play in game 5, the betting spreads are out and Ginebra is still listed as the favorite.

As of now, they are -3.5 in this game, so if they will take revenge on their previous loss, they might likely cover the spread.
I got to trust them since it's Sunday and definitely we will have a huge number of crowd.
1880  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Deontay Wilder versus Andy Ruiz Title Eliminator on: January 07, 2023, 01:51:29 PM
This fight might end in a knock out though, two punchers and you know when they go at each other, someone will go to the canvass. I will also give Ruiz a chance here, the thing with Wilder is that when he faces a fighter than can box, he had a lot of problems early and the only thing that will save him is his punching power. But against a technical Fury, and a boxer that can take his power, Wilder is no match. Ruiz has a good chin too so that is a positive for him. So this is going to be close fight and if Ruiz is the underdog here, might be good to throw some money on him, hehehe.
Good luck bro, but honestly, I don't think it's a good idea because Fury is the only king and the kryptonite of Wilder. Until no other boxer would beat Wilder except Fury, I believe he is next to the best, even compared to the other champion in the heavyweight division.

Oleksandr Usyk vs Wilder
Joshua vs Wilder

That's the kind of fight that I think more challenging to Wilder than this one.
