18681  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for Work Getting paid in BTC? on: December 24, 2013, 10:53:51 AM
Is there anyone interested in hiring someone?
I need to make a quick $400 and could work it or something.

Not exactly quick, but you could make $200 by signing up for PrimeDice's signature campaign, and if you make 1500 posts, on the 17th you'll have the 200 dollars. It's probably one of the easiest ways to make BTC, but obviously not the quickest.

Or as thecoinjournal said, list some skills you have that people may be interested in hiring you for.
18682  Other / Off-topic / Re: Looking to sell my forum account for btc. Is there any interest in this? on: December 24, 2013, 10:49:26 AM
I want to find out if there is any interest in having an established account for a newbie. There is a thread in meta over stopping the sale of accounts. I want to know if there is a reason to stop allowing it. Does it really happen? Of course, if I get a really good offer I'll take it and come back as a newbie. I've done that twice already anyway. lol

There are plenty of reasons to not allow it, but it is allowed currently.

I am a bit short of btc for a major purchase and don't know what else to do. If your interested PM me and let me know what its worth to you. Thanks

Shocked Is this actually a thing now? Really shouldn't be allowed. Scammers will be out buying profiles with good rep to scam again. Rinse and repeat. Eugh.

Yup, it's not disallowed currently, but I agree it shouldn't be tolerated.

There are a couple of discussion threads in Meta if people want to share their opinions on the matter.
18683  Economy / Services / Re: Earn up to 0.4BTC/month just by posting! - Advertise for PrimeDice.com! *Updated on: December 24, 2013, 10:42:56 AM
Stunna make it possible for people who have lifes, I have to take care of stuff including kids! I fnot, then may anybody suggest other services like this one before I go looking? Thanks!

Even with the cuts this is still by far the best one. Bitsplay is offering 0.6 for 1200 posts, but whether he pays out at the end of this month is another issue. I'll guess we'll find out soon. You can find out an overview of the signature campaigns here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=333916.0

Probably important for a mod to put that there so future readers of this thread don't think spamming is ok if it's in aid of PrimeDice Smiley

It's already stated in the rules; no spamming trolling etc.

No matter what the new payment is: I applied for the 17th of December payment with 50 posts and got nothing. Not even a reply. So it pretty much doesn't matter how moch one would 'eventually' get. I got nothing. I read some people received payments but somehow I doubt that the 'just apply and get paid' thing really works... sorry.

It worked like that for me. I don't know whether non-English posts are counted or not, but you do have a few that consist of only '+2'  , 'ROFLcopter' and wallet adresses etc, so if you discount them then maybe you didn't meet the minimum. Did you edit your original post ot anything? Stunna claimed he caught a few peeps trying to cheat, so maybe you fell under this, I don't know. Best to contact him directly.
18684  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: POLL: What got you into coins? on: December 24, 2013, 10:29:17 AM
Seems a lot of people noticed them via Silk Road and its media coverage.
18685  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Women of Bitcoin, Yes there's women on: December 24, 2013, 10:27:02 AM
They're just seeking attention. Remember in grade school when boys would pull on the girls ponytails? Same principle.

Yeah make sense... Considering most people in this thread have gfs and some are even married.

Even my gf is laughing at this thread.

Making claims on the internet doesn't make them true. You often seem to be making outlandish statements which are backed up with zero evidence, such as this:

Also I hung out with some of the brightest people in the world,
and let me tell you, they act just like you and me. They say the same things, they tell the same jokes.
18686  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This girl is really dedicated to bitcoin... on: December 24, 2013, 10:14:10 AM
I admire her dedication. It takes some serious dedication to stamp a wallet onto oneself. The real question is will she manage to pay the price of the tattoo off with the donations that she receives? I am just going to ignore the whore comments as they seem to me just to be based from jealousy/ignorance.

I've got a donation she can receive *sniggers* Grin.

Your last line is spot on. When men call women slags/whores etc it's just out of jealousy and envy at what they can't have.

or maybe they call them that  because they can have them too easily and so can everyone else

Then doesn't that make the guys 'sluts ,tramps ,whores ,easy bitches ,whatever you wanna call them' as well?
18687  Economy / Speculation / Re: lost BTC's on: December 23, 2013, 09:01:17 PM

reminds me that movie called Mr. "Nobody"

quite an awesome movie, that one. seen it about 5 times now and never tiring Smiley too bad hollywood does not make smart movies like that, instead going for the prettey. could have created a smarter populus...

That is such an underrated film, and I think Jared Leto is such an underrated actor. I need to watch it again, but it was probably my favourite film of 2009.
18688  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: POLL: What got you into coins? on: December 23, 2013, 08:55:27 PM
I discovered bitcoin when I first read an article about silkroad. I bought 30 when they were still $5... Unfortunately I did not keep them.

Haha. I hope the drugs were worth it Cheesy.
18689  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Alt-Coins on: December 23, 2013, 08:45:08 PM

Can't seem to find it on there?
18690  Other / Off-topic / Re: Transcendence Official Trailer #1 (HD) Johnny Depp, Morgan Freeman... on: December 23, 2013, 08:42:02 PM
This is Wally Pfister's first feature film, which has me all sorts of excited. He's the cinematographer who worked with Christopher Nolan on The Dark Knight, Inception, etc. In other words, on a visual level, he's amazing.

He's also worked on a commercial with a friend of mine and he's apparently a really good guy. For whatever it's worth.

Can't wait to see it!

I thought this was the new Nolan film, but I guess I was getting it mixed up with Interstellar.
18691  Economy / Economics / Re: Designing a proper altcoin! on: December 23, 2013, 08:31:13 PM
@hilariousandco: I mean one cannot replicate the success of bitcoin simply creating bitcoin 2 or litecoin 2. I have edited the original message for clarity.

Ah, ok. I think Litecoin could be dethroned, even though it's still ahead of the pack, but only because it was one of the first altcoins to come out. If it can't get many merchants behind it I could see it lagging behind and being overtaken quite easily.
18692  Other / Meta / Re: Moderator application on: December 23, 2013, 08:21:33 PM
Wrong

You have reported 9 posts with 100% accuracy

This is good, it shows I'm not on a power trip and will intervene only when necessary.

How is this accuracy counted exactly? I just reported a spambot, clicked back and it already had accepted it and added to my accuracy score. I assumed a mod would check it before granting a plus or minus point.
18693  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Dangerous to invest in new Altcoins? on: December 23, 2013, 08:15:29 PM
Hi guys,

I was wondering if it is dangerous to invest in new Altcoins? I mean, when you look at all the charts, every new coin launches pretty high, or it increases to a high peak and after that it decreases every time. Lots of altcoins are freefalling. So, the question is, are the lot of them a pure pump&dump scheme or a scam so the developer can cash in pretty big? I mean what is the point of all the altcoins when they don't "innovate" over the altcoins; i.e. NXT/QRK coins are indeed an innovation over BTC in the sense it has at least another encryption method.

If we're being honest most are just get rich quick attempts. Very few offer anything new or have any longterm goals or have any longevity. So yes, investing in altcoins can be a dangerous investment, but so can any other investments.
18694  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: POLL: What got you into coins? on: December 23, 2013, 08:12:47 PM
I think I first heard about them through the first media coverage of Silk Road. The best way to promote BTC and cryptos is to just keep telling people about them.
18695  Economy / Economics / Re: Designing a proper altcoin! on: December 23, 2013, 08:00:50 PM
Good replies. First of all, to make something clear: this is only brainstorming / wishful thinking.

My thinking is: bitcoin is gold; litecoin is silver. These cannot be cloned

What do you mean they can't be cloned?
18696  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Alt-Coins on: December 23, 2013, 07:57:58 PM
TagCoin has not only a built in auction website, but classifieds, rewards, community building, membership charging and a lot more...however, it is not just tagcoin which we created, but many other coins as well..

Where's the auction website at?
18697  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoins for Zimbabwe! on: December 23, 2013, 07:54:02 PM
Yep .. if you want to be a FIAT trillionaire you can buy one of those on ebay Wink I had one already

 Grin

Haha, I might buy one or two just for the novelty.
18698  Economy / Economics / Re: Alleged Top Moderators Of Silk Road 2 Forums Arrested In Ireland, U.S. In Intern on: December 23, 2013, 07:46:18 PM

Who's going to be stupid enough to start the next black market?

DPR is going to jail. Tomas from SM is either going to jail or getting murdered. SR2 people are probably going to jail.

But of course the next time will be different. Whoever starts the next one is smarter and won't get caught, right?

Well, there's obviously a hell of a lot of money to be made, and if you're wise you can remain anonymous and successful. I think you've just got to ask yourself is it worth it?

And it was only a couple of mods that got snatched. SR and current DPR are still going.
18699  Economy / Economics / Re: Designing a proper altcoin! on: December 23, 2013, 07:40:02 PM
Since when do pre-mines bother most of alt coins early adopters?  Cheesy
18700  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Last Minute Xmas Presents: BTC Paper Wallets on: December 23, 2013, 07:35:50 PM
Like http://bitaddress.org but with nice artwork for denominations 50 100 250 500 1000 mBTC - somebody do it!  Smiley

You can't present a paper bitcoin wallet as a gift because you already know a private key and can preserve it.

Of course you can.

As well as you can present a banknote which is lie in your pocket. As I say. Or, if it sounds better, you can present a car or a house without rewriting it's ownership in local authority. Presents of such sort when the grantor remains in a full control of a present looks strange isn't it?

Not really. They don't have to keep full control of it.
