feathercoin is slowly dying , its developer is incompetent , Litecoin's Dev team has already exposed this.

What evidence is there that its dy'ing exactly?
17702  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Max Keiser rumour: Netflix considering bitcoin on: January 04, 2014, 09:58:25 PM
max keiser trolls all the time.. he does have a vested interest after all. at this point, i tend to believe that even the winklevoss brothers are less suspiciosu than max.

He's losing credibility as an economist if he keeps chatting shit though. I guess he doesn't care, but still...

well his fans don't care.. as long as he says what they want him to. that's how extremism works. that's imo how the media works; you don't need to say something substantial or true (though he does say some things that i agree with), you just need to catch the attention of people.

What about his "fans" before he started hyping up Bitcoin? He's not or wasn't just an unofficial Bitcoin spokesperson until fairly recently, but an economist first and foremost. He'll probably fuck up his mainstream credibility if he keeps spreading FUD and hanging out with Alex Jones etc.
17703  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pot Goes on Sale in Colorado: Cash or Bitcoin Only on: January 04, 2014, 09:55:47 PM
so banks are boycotting  the pot business in Colorado so it is cash or bitcoin only, good news for both pot and bitcoin, although I expect soon enough some smaller regional banks will start to do business with the pot shop owners

They're either just scared or are not allowed to take money from these kind of businesses as it's still illegal federally.

Pretty confident it's the latter.  Banks are tied to the Fed. Gov, and MMJ is a State law.  Banks will never break a federal law...........  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

banks can't break a federal law, because even if they do, they didn't. and worst case scenario is that they just change the law, as they seemingly run the country.

So no banks at all in the US can have anything to do with Cannabis dispensaries?

OK I looked up TOR, and I'm not using that. What made you think I was?

I didn't mean you was, more of definitely don't use it if you hate the waits as so many connections are banned here. I guess I didn't make that clear.
17705  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BAD NEWS: Bitpay has been hacked? on: January 04, 2014, 09:50:50 PM
It's simply not true. Please edit the title of the post to make this clear now.
Yes, it should change to "GOOD NEWS: bitpay has not been hacked?" as this is the overall consensus on the twitter-sphere the past 5 minutes.

Haha good idea.

Do Bitpay have a twitter?

Lol somebody neg-bombed Dafar because of this thread.

They state clearly that they have offered Kanye a bounty for his approval? Damn these premines to hell. However if the fish takes the bait I could see lots of money coming into cryptos.

Didn't they say there was no pre-mine? Maybe they'll just give him the coins out of their own future earnings?

reporting in, just took another successful dump. endorphins released were fantasmic.

Seriously, get pegged and see how many endorphins that releases. You'll have your tiny mind blown.

17710  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Max Keiser rumour: Netflix considering bitcoin on: January 04, 2014, 09:35:36 PM
I suspect he made this rumor up but that that's a good thing. Netflix sees the overwhelming positive reaction and suddenly the rumor becomes true. A nice self-fulfilling prophecy.

I wonder if Bitcoin's price will rise? I reckon Keiser is just trolling.
17711  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BAD NEWS: Bitpay has been hacked? on: January 04, 2014, 09:33:55 PM
I'm seeing some posts in Twitter about BitPay being hacked. Over $80,000,000 worth of bitcoin gone. Can anyone confirm this?

If this is true that's terrible when the new years was starting off so well. Shit like this will discredit bitcoin more than countries banning it.

edit: link from reddit-- http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1uexyh/bitpay_hacked_early_reportsstay_tuned_anyone_with/

So no sources other than Twitter and Reditt?

And I need glasses as I thought the title said Bitcoin has been hacked  Cool.
17712  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk.org = Bitcoin version of Alibaba on: January 04, 2014, 09:22:18 PM

I guess the argument they will make is that banning them wont stop them from scamming; they'll just create a new account and start over again with a fresh slate.

I understand that. So cant they block that IP address to make it a little less streamlined for them? its like shooting fish in a barrel.

I think they do sometimes, but they'll just use TOR or a proxxy, so it doesn't really matter.
17713  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Posting here to get off the newbie boards on: January 04, 2014, 09:20:13 PM
I'm posting here because I would like to get out of the newbie forums as soon as I possibly can. Working on creating an entry for the Kittehcoin logo contest and would like to be able to submit it before the deadline tonight, so hoping this post will be enough according to the rules. ;-;

Post it here and I'll quote the message for you.
17714  Other / Meta / Re: "Last Post" Nonsense on: January 04, 2014, 09:19:07 PM
What is TOR?

I just don't understand the thinking behind having to wait after you log in to be able to post.

Security precautions; stop spammers and bots etc.

TOR = The Onion Router. Google it.

The main problem seems to be the confusing error messages.
I keep getting an error saying I have last posted less than 360 seconds ago when in fact I didn't post jack shit Tongue

It's not an error, you're just not waiting the full 360 seconds. Log-ins, searches and attempted posts count towards this.

You showed so very much - why not show your pretty face?   Smiley

You need to pay the woman for extras. This is just a freebie; try before you buy  Grin.
17716  Other / Off-topic / Re: Whats is your IQ? on: January 04, 2014, 09:13:28 PM

i have a friend who knows how to shank and rob you, or to scheme how to screw you out of your money. but he doesn't know what the NSA is, and probably doesn't know that africa is a continent. and no, he's not brittish  Cheesy

You count people like this as 'friends'?

yes, i am even open to befriending a brittish person. what can i say? i'm just a nice guy.

Well, you shouldn't judge people by nationality cos dat's racist, but if they're stabbing and robbing people I'd advise against befriending these types of people.

nah he's not thuggish.. he's just been raised on the wrong side of the socioeconomic scale.

i don't know what you're talking about, i'm willing to befriend a brit.. that's not racist. if anything, that's anti racism.

Well why would anyone not be open to befriending someone British? You seem to have a weird fixation with my Britishness.

And don't most people know how to "to shank and rob" people, or to "scheme how to screw you out of your money"? I reckon I could do those things, but I don't  Cheesy.
17717  Other / Meta / Re: "Last Post" Nonsense on: January 04, 2014, 09:09:30 PM
OK here I am trying to post again. I just got home from being out for about an hour. I remained logged in. So it's been far more than 180 seconds. lol

Testing...

There you go; It's a miracle! I'd advise against using TOR if you're annoyed by the waits after log-ins  Grin.

17719  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hello All on: January 04, 2014, 09:05:14 PM
I tend to agree to a point, i don't want the masses jumping all in right now  its too soon, they are not ready, we need the infrastructure first. But thats a double edge sword, we will need the masses if we ever hope to see the "to da moon" prices everyone gushes about. with only 21 million coins on a planet of 7 billion, eventually, if it all goes well, scarcity dictates the price will rise. imho.

I don't think the masses will jump on it overnight, but hopefully it'll grow gradually along with the infrastructure and merchants.
17720  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Could bitcion theft be decreased with spending notifications. on: January 04, 2014, 08:58:23 PM
So if you have bitcoins on your computer, anyone can potentially steal them, or for all we know someone can steal them from a paper that they took from you, however this could potentially mean that you BOTH are now in control of the bitcoins.

Could services be set up that alert you if your bitcoins are attempting to be sent ? Basically they could delay the process of sending so it takes a few hours or so, and if you log into your account with the private key, you can cancel it. Of course both parties would now be able to cancel the transaction for the other one, but maybe you can somehow make it so a higher level authentication is required to decide who is the real owner ? Or alternatively the bitcoins could now be worthless as it can't be sent by either party, essentially destroying any incentive for someone to steal bitcoins, because despite the computing power they put into it, theres no spoils, making the entire prospect of stealing bitcoins ineffectual, and bitcoins stored online safer.

Well you can set up two factor authentication and you'll get alerts that way. On the blockchain.info I get a text message everytime I even load up my page.
