1941  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can cryptocurrency make real money disappear? on: October 31, 2017, 10:25:21 PM
What are the chances of living in a world with no actual money ?  Shocked

Like I learnt in some news while I was younger that buntings and selling will soon be done in a programmed pattern; digital! If possible you get to use fingerprinting, eye recognition and some other self detective and identifying parameters. Digital currency taking over the fiat is the future and the future is here! I do like the idea of keeping the actual money in bicoins, it does somehow help to curb out some excessive and unwanted spendings
1942  Economy / Speculation / Re: what you think about bitcoin in like 5 years? on: October 31, 2017, 10:10:36 PM
bitcoin is five years time in my opinion there will be a lot of hard forks from the original bitcoin blockchain and the value of bitcoin would increase by 300 percent today's price. if transaction's speed and price remains the same, bitcoin's not improving and maybe the price wont grow that much

Bitcoin in five years time would have really evolved! I do strongly believe that some lapses in its communication and knowledge will be bridged and also complaints as regards fees would have been resolved with the fast arrival of altcoins that will come in to solve these issues arising. The advancement in technology would have yielded several advantageous solutions on the block chain and all we expect is a smooth sail of the bitcoin operations.

1944  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is the Meaning of Sin? on: October 30, 2017, 08:42:31 PM
Somebody Say if we commit sin we will be also belong to the the Wrath of GOD and we will not be having eternal Life?

Sin is trespassing of God's commandments. And also unto him who knows what is right and doesn't do it, it is termed sin. Well, it is quite plain and understandable too. Sin is more of God's way of explaining man's unrighteous ways from the laid down instructions given by God himself. The wrath of God is what is meted out as repercussions of sin; this can be instantaneous or somewhat gradually executed. In all, God wants us to live a sinfree life while we journey in this world.
1945  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Funny: "Nigerian" Scams Shifting To Bitcoin? on: October 30, 2017, 08:26:39 PM
Just like you quickly added that you are not saying it's Nigerian but the content format looks it. Well, you have somewhat also nipped the bud of thought towards having Nigeria in the spotlight for scams. Well, from the content, the person definitely doesn't understand how bitcoin works and at the same time a desperate and greedy newbie in the Cryptocurrency could buy that and fall victim. Scamming in Crypto world now has to do more with hacking and ponzi.
1946  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is it the Future of Banking ? on: October 30, 2017, 08:07:32 PM
i was thinking about the Bitcoin and it's Future in Banking . can it remplace money in transactions ?

I believe a lot will be coming into place in the future and especially when it comes to buying and selling. The digital money will at some stage be adopted by the banks and when adaptation comes to play, a lot will be scrapped and massive reduction in the human workforce is enevitable. Another thing to take note is a reversal in status; fiats will now be limited to some areas of transactions. Digital currencies will become more in demand and use than the fiats.
1947  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin is better than Cash. on: October 30, 2017, 07:56:29 PM
It can also be best in storing one's assets coded and not made accessible to the prying eyes of the government. It is important when you are not interested or restraining oneself from spending physical cash easily; so you get to help control yourself from unnecessary spendings. Bitcoin gives opportunities for Cryptocurrency investments, serving as an intermediary between other coins.

1949  Other / Off-topic / Re: Mother in law asked me about something called bitcoil :) on: October 29, 2017, 10:21:15 PM
Well, I was giving a mother in law a ride to work and in car she asked me if I've ever herd of something called bitcoil? Bitcoil? No I haven't what is that? Well apperantly it was something she was watching on ElJezzera about digital currency and how people could buy that and how it all worked out... Ahhh you mean Bitcoin ? YES YES that's what it is... How can i buy some?

SO I guess bitcoin is here to stay folks Smiley

Well, I did like to ask the age of your mother in law... Smiles. Just in the line of thought of how much understanding she must have at the moment and that she must wants to buy into it almost already. Well, I had a similar situation some weeks back when my mother in law asked me about the Cryptocurrency, I did try my possible best to explain the coin with respect to having digital money in a secured place and also played some videos to help drive home my points.
1950  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin be replaced by another cryptocurrency? on: October 29, 2017, 10:05:25 PM
Does it make sense to believe that Bitcoin could one day be replaced by another cryptocurrency, that is, a cryptocurrency that really does make Bitcoin obsolete?

As much as having the understanding that nothing last forever, I do think the wide gap in price value that bitcoin has above every other Cryptocurrency is far too much to attain. Probably with time, something, somehow can happen and then anoda coin is being lifted to outrace the bitcoin. But I strongly doubt it can happen and hardly feasible.
1951  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you trust bitcoin over banks and love bitcoins, more and more? on: October 28, 2017, 04:40:51 PM
For now, I will rate both as important and trusting both because they both play a role in the cash reaching my hand or getting to execute the task I need to do with money and earnings too. But I trust bitcoin more to store my money, I only make use of the bank when I need to use cash in the physical to buy things. I believe soon, the role of the banks will reduced and scrapped out when bitcoin is globally accepted.
1952  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM's on: October 28, 2017, 04:31:03 PM
Hello All,

Since getting into Bitcoins, I have noticed in my local area that there are hardly any ATM's to convert Bitcoins into cash to spend and I guess many others feel the same from time to time.

So I spoke to my local store owner and he might be interested in getting a BTC ATM if all the sums add up and he will make a profit from it.

Are there any places that I would be able to enquire to find out where I would be able to get one of these ATM's?

Also does anyone else know if it increases the people using the store and by how much in percentage wise?

I might have further questions.

Thank you in advance.

I have only heard of bitcoin  ATMs and don't have an idea of what the interface would look like. I think I heard of it seen in the US by a friend. Countries that are still finding it difficult to adopt it might be having it later on. And I hope it is well secured and not having a backend decrypting one's details. As regards local stores having ATMs, it is a welcome idea and easy conversions are made with transaction fees summing up correctly. I believe all these and much more are in the pipeline waiting to be implemented once the adaptation processes starts.

1954  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Confirmation are taking forever to process, is it only me? on: October 28, 2017, 11:17:58 AM
I did a transfer of bitcoin between my wallet and an exchange wallet to cash out some and the hash was presented immediately but 3 hours later not even a single confirmation on the blockchain. Is it only me or the all system is erratic and crazy after the fork?
Are you also experiencing something like that? how long it took your confirmations?

Transaction speed varies with different wallets. And you should take time out to weigh your preferred options right; speed, transaction fees and security/reliability of the wallet. You should know that the faster the rate at which the bitcoin is being transferred is proportional to the high transaction fees. Well, I did one early this month which was quite long; took about 4hours and I was somewhat worried and at the same time good.
1955  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin reaches a record level, surpassing $ 6,000 on: October 28, 2017, 11:09:58 AM
Bitcoin reached record value Friday, exceeding the $ 6,000 threshold, and reaching a total capitalization of over $ 100 billion, as investors continue to look optimistically at this virtual currency, which exists in limited quantities and which has opened the way for several  ... More

The value of Bitcoin has been programmed to increase more. I did get a market stipulation that it will be hitting 10,000$ like next year. Well, a lot of factors has come to play a role in the dictate and support of the upward rising of bitcoin price. Aside the market demand and supply, I do believe some persons who know well where and what they want bitcoin to be, as we are only buyers and players in the play distribution of the coin.
1956  Other / Off-topic / Re: What are some disadvantages of BTC? on: October 28, 2017, 10:47:09 AM
Here are some that I can think of on the top of my head:

  • It's volatility in price(currently). Hence holding your funds entirely on bitcoin is a huge risk despite the advantages.
  • Very unsafe for careless and technologically-illiterate people. Logging in to a phishing link? Say goodbye to your exchange's funds. Forgot to list down your wallet's seed? Say goodbye to you wallet's funds.
  • Unable to operate offline or non-electronically. This is a downside on more on the 3rd world countries, whereas most poor people can't even afford smartphones or any device that can hold bitcoin.
  • Not-so-good transaction fees and time. Transaction fees and times are definitely alot better now compared to months ago, but I still remember the days when txs were almost instant, with very very low fees.
  • My personal opinion: The name "bitcoin". I personally think it sounds like something a person involved in pyramid schemes and Ponzi scams would use.

I do want to take a toll from the points highlighted  here and find them of real and greater relevance even to the adoption of Bitcoin as a digital currency. Part of the disadvantages are also found within its advantages; take a look at the idea of decentralization, this idea is like a somewhat threat to some government of a country not making them accept the change Cryptocurrency is bringing in. I do want to buttress on the transaction fee area which some friends have been lamenting about; this is with respect to different wallets though. I experienced a high transaction fee this morning; the transaction fee was higher ×7 of what I sent!
1957  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your biggest regret about bitcoin on: October 26, 2017, 10:56:05 PM
My biggest regret is when I got introduced to this back in 2012, I tried to buy £200 worth, the platform was down and I never bothered, just recently woke up to it again at over £4k per coin, it is a physiological thing where I don't want to buy at that price.

My major regrets are that I didn't get to buy into it early enough. Also, that I didn't know what I know now then. These have really made me feel I am late. Also, it's quite appalling to see those who I expected to have some knowledge as regards Cryptocurrency not to have any. But I am at the moment seriously doing all I can to get informed probably which wouldn't have been so.; having a crash course. As much as engaging as it seems but it is never too late to start, so I started from somewhere.

1959  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what are the things to consider in your 1st bitcoin investment? on: October 24, 2017, 10:50:54 PM
Well, there are various ways to earn with bitcoin and I can see you have chosen the option of hodling the coin so it appreciates. Well, this is good. But I will advise that instead of just hodling all the bitcoins, you can split it into halves or a fair division and invest the other part in a good lending program. This will avail you the opportunity of having a passive income and also help you in recapitalization. You can then add to build up your bitcoin worth or your investment worth.
1960  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do Banks fear cryptocurrency on: October 24, 2017, 09:22:51 PM
Yes, they are really scared of what it is turning out to be. Judging by a video I watched recently, our central bank have already set up a committee to look into the applications of the blockchain and Cryptocurrency in itself and how it can be adopted for use. A friend also told me that he fears for the people working in banks at the moment with things are going, guys might soon be running out of bank jobs soon. I guess the earlier the better they start the adoption so as to carry everyone along.
