1981  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Help: Bitcoin Exchange Shutdown on: October 15, 2017, 09:27:05 PM
It is always good for one to do thorough findings as regards the reputation of invesrment site before going to invest/trade with them. I speak from experience because it is quite painful when money is lost in this.
1982  Other / Off-topic / Re: how to be positive on: October 14, 2017, 09:41:45 PM
how to remain positive in times of difficult situations where there is very little hope for positivity???

Environment really matters. I believe in this equation from genetics; G+E=P. G, Genetics plus E,Environment gives the P,Phenotype, physical appearance. When things might appear gloomy or going off the rail, aside from motivations stirred up from within, the right environment plays a key role to influencing the positive changes needed. It is quite important to surround oneself with positive persons, things and places. And most importantly, keep at it and work at maintaining a positive lifestyle
1983  Other / Off-topic / Re: Have you ever had the feeling that someone is controlling your life? on: October 14, 2017, 09:31:39 PM
We learn from our past, they say. I've been through an abusive relationship. That often blurs the lines that define my space even today.

To know this helps me not to repeat my past mistakes but the lesson has come with a price.

I have anxiety almost everyday during conversations with friends when simple questions like “where are you right now?”, “did you end up meeting that old friend on the weekend?” end up worrying me.

I did had that thought really strong after I watched the Matrix! It really got to me and I literally had to go look outside my window to actually see if someone was out there watching me. But really, spiritually, God is watching us and has control over our lives too. So, it is good to have that consciousness that God is watching me but not overruling that there might be others watching with a contrary motive.
1984  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What were your experiences with Bitcoin when you first started? on: October 14, 2017, 09:21:22 PM
I first got the information like late last year and it was still like abstract to me. But with the help of youth colleagues I had around me I was able to buy and lend out to about two sites and was having some returns. My experience now is being broadened because I am getting to know about Cryptocurrency at large and the understanding of blockchain as a technology that has come to stay. I go to know about the volatility of the Cryptocurrency world and how it is fast spreading too. I am really indeed excited with this innovation.
1985  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin Ever Be Shutdown? on: October 13, 2017, 07:38:06 PM
I was just wondering, what would it take for the Bitcoin Network to be shutdown completely?

I basically disagree on its shutdown. The nodes widespread is quite enormous and secured. It has come to stay for real. I believe it is being incorporated now into payment systems in some important places and meaning so meaning nothing can go wrong. And finally, since bitcoin thrives on the internet and electricity, it will take a ripple damaging effect from them to affect bitcoin's shutdown.
1986  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if, we advertise bitcoin on T.V.? on: October 13, 2017, 07:07:23 PM
I've just thought about this for a moment but, if we want bitcoin to get more popularity, attention or acceptance would it be nice to make some advertisement about it on T.V.? I don't know if in other countries they advertise bitcoin but in my country, I haven't seen one. How do you think advertising bitcoin will affect the people? Any thoughts?
[/quote

I believe having a TV advert for bitcoin and Cryptocurrency at large will make it move faster in spreading the information but this has been regulated because bitcoin has not been legalized in all countries. Countries with the rights will definitely be having various types of TV adverts rolling already.
1987  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: send money to someone by mistake on: October 13, 2017, 07:01:11 PM
Have you ever send money to someone by mistake ? ever happened with you ?

Like i am going to send some money to my friend via blockch but mistakenly i send to someone ( a person you don't know )

I did that once before when it didn't have much value, like late-early this year. I did try my best to get assistance on its retrieval but was told it was gone! I was just surprised because I thought I had done all the appropriate checks. But I am of the opinion that if bitcoin is mistakenly/wrongly sent to a wrong address, there should be a way to have it reversed; Since there is a transaction chain.
1988  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Being Unemployed Drives People to go to Bitcoin on: October 11, 2017, 10:52:47 PM
I will quite agree with the OP's thought. I have a living testimony here in our country. The economy went down into recession and a lot of youths became unemployed even with their certificates; some even went ahead to get their masters to better their chances of employment but still no show. Out of their earnest desire to earn a living, they stumbled on bitcoin! And voala! They have been making a meaning with their lives. The unemployment situation has birthed a new and much more better way. Though it is now good to get something established in the physical running for you while you earn from the Cryptocurrency system.
1989  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Schools Are Officially Accepting Bitcoin for Tuition on: October 11, 2017, 04:19:55 PM
Universities are embracing accepting bitcoin for tuition, with Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Switzerland the latest school to adopt. If anything, it's another clear sign the cryptocurrency is here to stay.

https://futurism.com/schools-accepting-bitcoin-tuition/

Even so... Bitcoin has been used to buy homes, and countries like Venezuela and Vietnam are beginning to truly embrace the currency. Now, certain universities are adopting the payment method of bitcoin for tuition, albeit with a few caveats.

This is really becoming interesting! Definitely, if the government of a country has accepted the Cryptocurrency into their system then bodies within the system like banks, schools/universities, hospitals and the likes will also adopt Bitcoin as forms of payment. It is going all over the world and acceptance is imminent.
1990  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Any App that generates bitcoin on: October 11, 2017, 03:57:35 PM
Bitcoin generation is via Bitcoin mining. Other generating means do take time; that is if they eventually pay out at all. It is really disheartening that a lot of faucets sites are out there just to exploit people of their few Bitcoin; they are the ones mining Bitcoin from gullible fellows. I will just advise you take time to build up from this forum and earn gradually.
1991  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do thousands of investors hold bitcoin on troubled days? on: October 11, 2017, 02:39:56 PM
My Coach did say that part of the tricks in trading is to buy more of a prospective coin when it goes low. I want to believe this is why real investors in Bitcoin do and still hold on to it when it appears it is going for the deep. This theory was put into practice just last month when it appears the value of Bitcoin was in a decline. Some people entered in and bought afresh and some bought more. Now, Bitcoin is way higher than it has ever been and the believe that it will still add more.
1992  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Still believe in ICO ? on: October 10, 2017, 02:51:18 PM
The number of successful ICO's are decreasing dramatically.  Just wanna know about successful ICO's in the fourth quarter of 2017 and if anybody still believes in  ICO's.

I did wanted to go into investing in ICOs desperately of late but I did thread with caution in any invest now because of past experience. I asked an experienced friend recently and told me to do my findings well. This sounded like a warning signal and itz not good at all. Well, I am of the opinion that there should be a body to regulate/control ICOs generally. This can help restore sanity into the system again.
1993  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Bitcoin on: October 10, 2017, 11:09:15 AM
Hi, I am thinking about investing in Bitcoin and Litecoin and would appreciate some opinions.

To really invest in Bitcoins that will make a worthwhile investment is to invest in large quantity. The altcoins can be started in bits and do gain grounds later. Bitcoin has started another uprising at the moment and for those who did not buy earlier might not be able to dabble into it. I will advise you trade potential altcoins and use it as a leverage to gaining more Bitcoins.
1994  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN Split this 25 Oct, How you think? on: October 09, 2017, 09:00:31 PM
Just like someone said, the splitting means another birthing of another altcoin. And with serious effort it can help gain value if accepted. And the idea that not all Bitcoin wallet will be adhering to the rule of having a free equivalent Btg by 25th October. I am really looking towards this and hope to get my free BTG too.
1995  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you expect a crash soon ? Or you see bitcoin keep climbing ? on: October 09, 2017, 11:20:56 AM
Feel free to free your thoughts bitcoiners Cool. We are aproaching a major point of the bitcoin bull run so now let's watch the bitcoin rally very very close.

Bitcoin crash?! No! Not in view. The only crash can be for sites that are being designed to rob people off their hard earned Bitcoin. I believe Bitcoin has come to stay and with the strength of the blockchains in its transaction processes. It is a well created digital currency with good prowess.
1996  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in College??? on: October 09, 2017, 11:08:53 AM
It will be a good development if thought in colleges. Especially, for countries where Bitcoin has been legalized, introduction of Bitcoin into the school curriculum wouldn't be a miss. And for countries yet to embrace the concept/innovation of Bitcoin, there is nothing wrong in having a glance at it during the IT education.
1997  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHY OWNER IS HIDING on: October 09, 2017, 11:03:13 AM
I did hear that  the name Satoshi Nakamoto is a pseudo name and not necessarily a real person assumed to be really existing. I also believe the name was coined out to at least give credit to someone for the launch of this project! And on the other way round if he/she is really existing and hiding for reasons best known, thumbs up!
1998  Other / Off-topic / Re: Scammer in society when it will end? on: October 07, 2017, 08:59:31 PM
There are lot of cyber scam today, and they victim many people by hacking accounts, even bank accounts to get the money of other. How can we prevent to be victims by them?

There are scanners almost everywhere. It now depends on self to be very vigilant and careful in one's dealings with persons. Extra carefulness is required when it pertains to account details too. Scammers/defrauders are always looking out for loopholes in account security and most of all some greedy persons do fall victim to them.

If there is good bank acxount security, the situation could still be salvaged; recovering of the losses and also being able to apprehend the culprit. But really, don't think there can be an end to scammers.
1999  Other / Politics & Society / Re: do you believe in your government? on: October 07, 2017, 08:44:52 PM
do you think they told you the truth about the condition of your country?

Really a disheartening thought when it comes to the government of my country! They have failed the citizens and the depts of corruption as so much eaten deep into the economy that the nation nearly crumbled! Well, I did say some parts of The economy crumbled and brought the country into recession! It is really only by God that my country is still together and standing at the moment. However, if somehow the really so much bad eggs in the government can be flushed out, then, there can be changes and gradual improvements and developments. After this is done, then I think I can start believing in the government.
2000  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many ways are there to earn bitcoins? on: October 07, 2017, 08:35:01 PM
Recently, I've been trading bitcoins on btc-e, earning only a little, yes, very little, except the fees that btc-e takes.

Besides trading, are there any good method to earn bitcoins?   Thanks.

There are several other ways of earning Bitcoins. I did explore several options before now like; earn per clicking on adverts, Bitcoin faucets and in  gamings. Well, the actual best ways are via investments and trading which can also be lending too. If one isn't greedy, one can start earning something worthwhile from this.
