1961  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin & PoW is a waste of energy & destroys nature on: March 20, 2014, 04:44:27 PM
Everybody is familiar with those large door heaters at the entrance of stores?
You, these electrical heat monsters which make it able to let the door open to attract customers into a store?

Why not produce some asic heaters for this purpose. 99% of the energy is wasted on heat anyway.
You would earn money while heating your house.

Why not put these heaters in other electrical heating components, like water cookers and stuff.

You should concern about all electrical heaters instead of crypto mining.
Crypto mining is 0,00000000000000000001% of all electrical energy used.

1963  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Poll: Did you lose BTC to Mt Gox? on: March 08, 2014, 03:41:16 PM
I started at bitcoin.de
Went to bitcoin24 and got trapped there. Luckily my stack was in bitcoin and I was able to withdraw them a few weeks later.
I tried the verification at Gox, but they complained it not being complete so I went to BTC-e

But the exchange amount never exceeded 5% of my total amount.
1964  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am not Dorian Nakamoto. on: March 08, 2014, 02:57:09 PM
I think it is educational.
You should not limit education.
This proves no education on any subject.
Strange, I think it does.
1965  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am not Dorian Nakamoto. on: March 08, 2014, 02:34:25 PM
Why is this? It's nice for us to see what he did previously. He hasn't been active for 4 years anyways.
This is a fake Satoshi account. If you see a sudden article somewhere that Satoshi posted in this forum again, don't be surprised.
This was actually a bad move. The staff should have removed this post and banned the account.
Yes, please censor the post, the thread, the forum and ban bitcoin.
The world will be a better place to live then.
Yes, remove the useless post and thread.
I think it is educational.
You should not limit education.

Dear God satoshi, we love you.
You changed the world in a better way, thanks.
Even if this experiment fails you enlighted many of us.
1968  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: **Breaking news** Satoshi Nakamotos identity revealed on: March 06, 2014, 10:57:10 PM

Looks like he lives in a nice suburb in California.  This isn't mexico dude.  You don't see entrepreneurs/celebritites getting kidnapped and tortured for their money.

Ridiculous bullshit saying he's in any sort of danger.

He's at risk for being mobbed by the media, supporters, groupies, but physical danger?  Nah, very unlikely.

Not unlikeley for the first digital gold of the world.
Entities will look for him if it's real. But they won't, since they know this is fake.
1969  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: **Breaking news** Satoshi Nakamotos identity revealed on: March 06, 2014, 10:55:17 PM
Whoever he is - I sure hope he'e encrypted and backed up his wallet.
I hope he has a backup identity and money for facial surgery... he lives in great threat now regardless if he is the real Satoshi or not.

No he doesn't this is ridiculous bullshit people saying this.

Does Bill Gates live in great threat?  How about Warren Buffet?

Dude's a billionaire so he can easily afford to move to a safe, gated community where no one will touch him.

You think you could break into Bill Gates house and torture the money out of him? I doubt he has piles of cash lying around. This guy on the other hand, is completely vulnerable to that kind of thing.

Too bad the result is that this (fake satoshi) guy is probably being killed sometime and when the real Satoshi spends some coins, there will be panic because everybody thinks the coins are stolen.
Divide and concur, it's has always been the same.

Huh?  Great lengths like using his real name?  This makes no sense.  If this was his real name all along how come nobody has found him yet?

This is like the twilight zone here.

+1, yes this is all absurd.

Sometimes I worry that the real reason I am into bitcoin is purely for the constant daily entertainment. It's better than movies or TV, which I've largely given up due to lack of imagination.

But bitcoin, every single week another crazy bomb is dropped out of no where that provides endless speculation, investigation, discovery and rebuttal.  So. much. fun.
That's the reason for me to spend a few euro's of cash each every time, just to pay for the fun.
Instead I get some virtual coins which even might be worth a lot more in the future. I say win win.
Just like spending your money on some other entertainment, but this time you keep the goodies.
1972  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: **Breaking news** Satoshi Nakamotos identity revealed on: March 06, 2014, 05:25:32 PM
If this is not the guy then maybe the real Satoshi will came out of his cave just to save him. Maybe that's the whole master plan..
+1 and then find real satoshi and kill him
1973  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: **Breaking news** Satoshi Nakamotos identity revealed on: March 06, 2014, 05:23:37 PM
I hope it is the real Satoshi and that he's got a brainwallet with all his bitcoin in it.
Now they can shoot him through the head and make my bitcoins worth more.
/sarcasm

For real. I think the real satoshi is not ment to be found.
They just made this guy up and are killing him soon to "end" the speculation.
They just hope that everybody believes the story first.

1974  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: **Breaking news** Satoshi Nakamotos identity revealed on: March 06, 2014, 02:22:47 PM
If this is true and those are indeed the real names plus the real house... that journalist is completely insane (and a criminal that should be arrested in my eyes).

What the f# is this, completely destroying the privacy of the man who clearly did want nothing but his identity kept a secret?

I hope this is just a ridiculous hoax.

edit:
https://twitter.com/gavinandresen/status/441547758827474946  Seems like it might actually be real
The twitter proves that gavin is CIA as well.

How do I run minerd in linux mint? I tried "./minerd --syslog --config=./cfg.json" but it complained about missing files
1977  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][MAX] MaxCoin on: February 05, 2014, 10:16:38 PM
well whatever guys, i don't think its fair to attack them. They felt it was not right to release it this at this time, problems happen with large launches. I have respect for the devs for making this a fair launch

It is not fair to LIE.
It is not fair for people who took a day free from work!
It is not fair for people who delayed other appointments.
