1981  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin users could face jail time? on: January 29, 2014, 01:22:24 PM
The government doesn't WANT people in jails. They want as little people in jails as possible.

They're not going to do that, when they know they definitely were not conspiring to aid drug trade at any level.

They can still make an example of some people just to scare others not to use cryptocurrencies.
1982  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][MAX] MaxCoin on: January 29, 2014, 01:05:39 PM
only thing it differs by is the mining algorithm and pre launch promo? lame..
1983  Economy / Speculation / Re: Satoshi's long term plans on: January 29, 2014, 11:25:17 AM
Satoshi is just a group of NSA paid geeks.. not some lone Japanese genius.

How do you know? I think Bitcoin gets awfully close to something as radical as the NWO but how can we know to which polarity it really belongs?
1984  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin users could face jail time? on: January 29, 2014, 10:54:36 AM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=jdJJN79Uuj0#t=191

Skip to 03:03. This has to be FUD. However, let's imagine a scenario:
1. feds trace all the "illegal" bitcoin transactions to exchanges such as Bitstamp
2. they say "these addresses are tied to illegal activities. who owned these addresses?"
3. exchanges give out the names
4. now feds have an enormous list of people that can be put in jail if they wanted to

question arises - is there some generally accepted time gap for the feds to act until these "crimes" get outdated? The bad thing with blockchain is that once you're in there and some tyrant comes to power who doesn't like it that you donated to wikileaks 10 years ago, you'd be beheaded. Is there any way to scramble the transaction history in a way that such links could not be verified?

1985  Economy / Speculation / Re: What possible event on horizon will rocket bitcoin to the moon again? on: January 29, 2014, 10:32:39 AM
Bitcoin is already on the moon. You need a different target, like Mars, or the Oort Cloud.

+1

It's time for Mars now. Early majority is starting to ask questions about Bitcoin. Soon it will go viral and that could be the next nitromethane for Bitcoin's rocket. Bitcoin is a vote against banks. I wonder who will be left holding all the fiat in the world Cheesy, laggards?
1986  Economy / Speculation / Christopher Greene of AMTV has turned from bear to bull on: January 28, 2014, 12:53:56 PM
I've been tuned to AMTV for a year or so because this is one media channel that I can trust. I have sent e-mails to AMTV asking why they don't take bitcoin donations.

I remember his old videos where he was thinking that Bitcoin is another weapon invented by CIA. I think this was pretty bearish video in that sense:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bdvu0U6S-nE

However, today AMTV has released 2 new videos all of sudden totally bullish for cryptocurrencies:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHwb9heBVrI
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCBBAqeFGeY

Why is this important? Because IMO AMTV is one of the more seriously taken alternative media channel. Alex Jones for example takes it too radically. I've sent e-mails to David Icke too, asking if they could take bitcoin donations. No response but with AMTV promoting Bitcoin things are going to the right direction. People will start seeing Bitcoin as a vote against banks instead of a pyramid scheme.
1987  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN IS CRASHING TO SINGLE DIGITS on: January 27, 2014, 11:47:32 PM
we're all going to die!!!!
1988  Economy / Speculation / Re: Noble Prize Winner who predicted Housing Bubble: Bitcoin is a bubble for sure! on: January 27, 2014, 03:10:36 PM
If mainstream media (including RT) wasn't hating on bitcoin I would be suspicious.

+1

IF Obama suggested everyone to start investing into bitcoin I'd be definitely reaching for my tinfoil hat.
1989  Economy / Speculation / Re: Charlie Lee Hints at China News on: January 27, 2014, 02:36:48 PM
Just came across this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=li5M-yNI7fM

What does that have to do with China? Why did you post it here?

Isn't it a topic where we post videos that we just came across?
1990  Economy / Speculation / Re: Charlie Lee Hints at China News on: January 27, 2014, 02:13:08 PM
Just came across this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=li5M-yNI7fM
1991  Economy / Speculation / Re: Today BTC = $800, $9200 to go and why 10 BTC will never make you rich on: January 27, 2014, 02:04:51 PM
I don't see this situation any different than what we have currently with fiat money. A small number of families control and own everything. Think of it just as redistribution of wealth, the pyramid still remains.
1992  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin Foundation owned/bribed media on: January 27, 2014, 01:49:46 PM
I mean, right now it's a joke but I see it slowly turning into reality.

ref: http://arstechnica.com/business/2014/01/new-bitcoin-billboards-preach-to-the-masses-in-san-francisco-bay-area/

is it not?

After all, isn't one of the rules of investing to start protecting your investment once it has been made?

So, if we can no longer trust the Bitcoin related media, should we tune in to AMTV: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bdvu0U6S-nE

Cristopher Greene says "the government has heavily infiltrated the cryptocurrency market"

Fight fire with fire? Fight bitcoin with bitcoin? Not trying to be bear or anything, just playing the Devil's advocate here. Can pro bitcoin propaganda in some aspect do any harm? For example if people start thinking that Bitcoin related news all originate from the Bitcoin Foundation owned media?
1993  Economy / Speculation / Re: January 31th, a few facts on: January 27, 2014, 11:28:56 AM
I lost you after the third "31th"
+1

I'm not sure if it's me getting more lazy over time or OP's message really is too long or boring. I mean if OP is bullish then I already know anyway these facts Tongue
1994  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin holders will be feeling rich after January 31st on: January 26, 2014, 11:56:38 PM

More like this rich.
1995  Economy / Speculation / Re: Noble Prize Winner who predicted Housing Bubble: Bitcoin is a bubble for sure! on: January 26, 2014, 11:29:12 PM
Iīm sorry to say but we donīt want persons like you in our community.
If we keep you, we gain nothing, but if we kill you, we lose nothing.

I disagree.

We need bears because their suffering gives so much joy Cheesy especially these smartass professors to be proven wrong so hard in the future. I can almost hear them mumbling "this is preposterous" when trying to fit bitcoin into their financial box of understanding.
1996  Economy / Speculation / Re: Noble Prize Winner who predicted Housing Bubble: Bitcoin is a bubble for sure! on: January 26, 2014, 11:18:46 PM
I think that this Nobel prize should be stripped away from that old fuck for making so ignorant statements.
1997  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mtgox just hit $1037 on: January 26, 2014, 03:44:46 PM
For a Sunday it's quite a boost!
1998  Economy / Speculation / Re: Lowest volume in 2 years on: January 24, 2014, 12:03:45 PM
Volume in currency, do you speak it?

1999  Economy / Speculation / Re: Looks like the manipulator is failing you guys, muahahahaha on: January 24, 2014, 12:27:24 AM
I believe Bitcoin is currently in the consolidation phase. Just like after having an orgasm you would take some 10 minute break before going for another round Cheesy but then again some people prefer to go to sleep instead.
2000  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin No Bargain as 47% of Investors Go Bearish in Poll on: January 23, 2014, 10:59:27 AM
I have no problem with people being bearish because "Not only I should succeed but others should fail!" Cheesy
