1021  Economy / Speculation / Re: Weekly Parabolic SAR just turned bullish on: July 12, 2015, 02:17:19 AM
5th week confirmed. Parabolic rise is becoming more and more visible. Prepare for take-off. This week could bring us close to 400$.

1022  Economy / Speculation / Re: Rally!!!!! on: July 10, 2015, 07:31:47 PM
This is a rally inside a rally. It's called acceleration.
1023  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is now preferred to fiat on the street on: July 10, 2015, 07:09:57 PM
Dude you are telling us that people taking out loans from banks is going to destroy them and I am the delusional one you say?
If I take a loan to buy something that goes up in value and the fiat that I have loaned goes down in value then I am the smart one and banks are the bagholders. The more people buy cryptos the less fiat will be worth. If you want to accelerate the downfall of fiat you should let banks print it for you as a loan and you instantly dump that shit for bitcoins. Later you dump some coins and pay the loan back. The banks hate it if a loan gets paid back because then they'll have to destroy money they have created.

"Precious metals" held their value for 100's of years are going to fall, OK I am going to sleep wake me up when that happens sherlock.

Exactly, precious metals have held their value for 100's of years. No one expects them to take a hit. You must always expect the unexpected! Thus, expect precious metals to crash down to their intrinsic value. I must say, however, that this won't happen any time soon. After fiat is gone, there will be an era of precious metals and cryptos for a while. Then, people realize how much better cryptos are in comparison to precious metals so the value of those will slowly fall.
1024  Economy / Speculation / Re: Parabolic rise has begun on: July 10, 2015, 06:56:10 PM
No, it makes it look like a revolutionary technology that is exhibiting exponential growth trends.

New local ATH 295$ !!! This truly has become parabolic, it is now fully confirmed. And this is good for bitcoin because it makes all the nonbelievers realize how stupid they have been. Oh smite the heretic priests, allmighty Bitcoin god.

1025  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Block size debate hard fork is NOT A PROBLEM on: July 10, 2015, 03:03:46 PM
Since after a hard fork people will have duplicate bitcoins in both of the block chains, they really lose nothing. The miners get to choose which fork they will support and the market gets to choose the price. Everything will be fine.

Therefore, I urge the developers of bitcoin-core to release the next version of the software that has the maximum block size increased to 8 MiB and preferably some anti-spam measures implemented. The latter is required because raising the maximum block size is not a solution to TX spam attack. The TX spam attack can be eliminated on the "soft fork" level and there are already some good solutions thrown out. The next bitcoin version should also address the issue of unconfirmed TX backlog, which is theoretically solved here. I am more than sure that one of the forks will eventually fade into oblivion (probably the change nothing fork).

To avoid similar debates in the future, I recommend the developers to take some time and implement bitcoin block chain motion voting. The bitcoin holders have the technical capability to sign their vote with their private keys and publish it on the bitcoin's own block chain. The votes can then be counted programmatically and their validity can be verified cryptographically. All parties who then wish to have a say in critical network decisions must also be stakeholders (own bitcoins). We cannot see miners worthy enough to be included in decision making because not all miners are stakeholders. Instead, many miners are traitors to the bitcoin network by leeching it from its resources and instantly dumping all their mined coins without holding a single bitcoin. What is more, there are selfish miners who mine empty blocks to gain a small competitive advantage. Such parasitism can and should be eradicated. As an example, I can refer to nubits that already has shareholder voting on their block chain.

If you are against any of the solutions that I proposed above, then you'd better have a good explanation because otherwise there exists a strong possibility of you being a bitcoin traitor. A bitcoin traitor is the person who wishes that bitcoin would slowly die and become irrelevant in the cryptocurrency space because they see it as a rival to their own petty altcoin.
1026  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: 28 000 unconfirmed TXs on: July 10, 2015, 02:29:37 PM
No, false. Spammer could not spam the change addresses if you have not spent anything yet. My solution still has a practical value in many cases. The donation receiver could spend the donations in batches or perhaps not use a change address at all or set the same address for the change address.

This still puts the onus of the trouble on the receiver, and any mistakes makes him an easy target.

A good anti-spam solution should be easy on the normal users, "safe by default", and hard for the spammer, "expensive by default", not vice-versa.

GTFO. You are too lazy to understand the implications of my proposal and you fail to provide any solutions yourself. You just whine.

What does this even mean? In case you are not a programmer I am not going to even bother to discuss this with you any further. In case you are a programmer, you should know, that what you see as a problem, can be solved programmatically by the wallet software. Either way, since you fail to understand the technical details of such a feature, you should just stick to the abstract.

Abstract
There should be functionality for the wallet owner to define the minimum amount of bitcoins they are willing to receive. Such a command must be saved in the bitcoin block chain for a small fee. As a result, bitcoin wallets become resistant to dust spam which would otherwise slow down their device dramatically or consume all the RAM.
1027  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: 28 000 unconfirmed TXs on: July 10, 2015, 01:53:37 PM
However, if you had a public donation receiving address, then it makes sense to establish a minimum amount that you would accept.
Spammer could then just spam the addresses you spent your donation on, or any "weak link".

I do not think that any manual measures can be effective against spam, just like manually filtering your mail, manually white-listing and manually black-listing never worked very well, and never will.

Spam being automated, it has to be fought by automated means.

This is the automated means.
1028  Economy / Speculation / Re: Parabolic rise has begun on: July 10, 2015, 01:43:43 PM
Rise yes. Parabolic rise not so sure (using a parabolic indicator does not mean that price appreciation will be parabolic... Wink). In my opinion we will stabilize first in a $300-400 range for another half year.

I expect the next bubble will happen shortly before or after the next reward halving.

Same here with the prediction.. $320 is too much for a rise some people might sell their chunks of bitcoin now or next week

Maybe 320 is too high, it could also be ~310$. It's exponential extrapolation either way and doesn't conflict with the parabolic rise theory.
1029  Economy / Speculation / Re: Parabolic rise has begun on: July 10, 2015, 01:24:38 PM

A parabolic rise has to start somewhere, right? This is the first week on the logarithmic chart where we see a higher green candle than on all the previous weeks paired with the highest volume bar ever during this rally. This marks the start of a parabolic rise.
1030  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: 28 000 unconfirmed TXs on: July 10, 2015, 01:22:42 PM
setting a minimal accepted amount must require a TX fee of course because it consumes space in the block chain.

That would not work with change addresses... the wallet creates change address automatically, they're part of your wallet and bitcoin's pseudonymity and security features.

Paying a fee for all your change address would be impractical, and provide a money trail to boot.

So what? I never said this should be effective for absolutely all addresses. By default, there should be no minimum amount. However, if you had a public donation receiving address, then it makes sense to establish a minimum amount that you would accept.
1031  Economy / Speculation / Parabolic rise has begun on: July 10, 2015, 12:48:04 PM

~320$ bitcoins next week.
1032  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: 28 000 unconfirmed TXs on: July 10, 2015, 11:33:37 AM
because of these autists doing this "stress test"

Not autists doing a stress tests, but smart people with a plan.

There is about 30-40 BTC now being spent on this dust spam attack, the first spams days ago were probably the stress test for what is happening now. They're now sending dust to actual wallets (like wikileak), which will make it a PITA for these wallets (and will further bloat the blockchain when they will  defragment)

As annoying as it is, it's something that the network has to be strengthened against, if BTC wants to be a global currency, it's a problem it has to tackle.

FWIW a dust attack happened years ago againts LTC, and since that attack there is a huge amount of unspendable 1 satoshi dust bloating the LTC blockchain. It will be interesting to see how BTC comes out.

There should be a mechanism to set a minimum number of satoshis that your address is willing to receive and that should be saved in the bitcoin's block chain, signed by the private key to your address. Then all TXs that include an output to your defined address with a smaller amount than you have specified would be rejected by the bitcoin network immediately.

edit:
setting a minimal accepted amount must require a TX fee of course because it consumes space in the block chain.
1033  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: 28 000 unconfirmed TXs on: July 10, 2015, 01:49:29 AM
This is getting really annoying. I have waited for several hours for the confirmation. If there was a way to increase the TX fee to get it confirmed faster I would already be doing it because it is a really urgent TX. I cannot go to sleep because of this. Fuck you bitcoin network, you are pissing me off right now. How long will those "stress tests" continue? I would say everyone already gets the point so why continue?
1034  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is now preferred to fiat on the street on: July 09, 2015, 10:35:31 PM
So I tried to see how btc worked "on the street" here in downtown Los Angeles.  I tried to give 5 different homeless guys some bitcoin, but none of them had a cell phone or computer, so it didn't work too well...

next time give them the private key on paper for example Tongue
1035  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-07-08] CNBC: Greek island agrees to test digital currency "Nautiluscoin" on: July 09, 2015, 10:18:11 PM
How do you know if this really is a scam?
1036  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is now preferred to fiat on the street on: July 09, 2015, 07:45:12 PM
Ha, is that you in your avatar? I personally think supplements are a waste of time. Just eat well and you'll get all you need.

Yes that's me. I only take protein, creatine, beta-alanine and arginine because they make a huge difference. Also, arginine will make your dick bigger, erection easier and it lowers the blood pressure. I fucking love arginine, it also gives you a monster pump in the gym. Without arginine I can have 3 rounds of good fuck in a row but with arginine I can get up to 6.

It's not as easy as that but taking out loans to buy bitcoins isn't a good idea in my opinion. He could find himself in real trouble that way. I'd tell him to just put what he can afford to in bitcoin each month or something.

He knows what he's doing. He won't end up on street, he's a fighter, been in the rock bottom and got out of it.

I buy my tren ace in bitcorns to

Wait wut..

And your dbol ?

I will probably start taking juice when I'm 40+ years old because then it is justified. The natural production of HGH and testo starts to fall dramatically after that age and could seriously reduce the quality of one's life.
1037  Economy / Speculation / Re: Lord Christopher Monckton attacks Bitcoin on: July 09, 2015, 04:10:56 PM
Don't we all love a happy ending? but SADLY, working for years stealing money, they end up making contacts and sources and stuff their mouths with money too. They won't bitch them out or maybe these guys know too much to bite them in the ass too. Everyone is playing a fucking smart game. The sad thing is that these fuckers are evil and despite get through without punishment most of the times Sad

And even they are just expendable sockpuppets as Gríma Wormtongue was to Saruman. To kill those parasites we would one way or another have to deal with the inner workings of the secret military bases in the US. This shit gets so bad so quickly after we've breached the human buffer of the parasitic system that having the evil sockpuppets around could be seen as the better alternative to a direct confrontation with the native terrans (if you know who I mean).
1038  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is now preferred to fiat on the street on: July 09, 2015, 03:53:36 PM
great man ! glad to know that. in our country bitcoin is not THAT popular, but it is gaining popularity. most of people here dont have idea about what bitcoin is. we will see what happens next.

Yeah, I guess I should have added that my country has been the top one in google trends for years when it comes to the "bitcoin" search term.

I'm not going to comment on whether this or any of your other numerous threads as of late are true or false, but you are starting to sound like the inverse bull troll of kwukduck or NLC with these sensationalist titles. Just sayin'!  Smiley

Yeah, you're right, but I bet I'm the lesser evil Cheesy

you cannot have yin without yang, I'm the servant of the balancing forces in this universe.
1039  Economy / Speculation / Re: Lord Christopher Monckton attacks Bitcoin on: July 09, 2015, 03:43:12 PM
Starting at 13:50 the old fart is proposing that to defeat the formation of the world government we must create our own electronic currency. I was already thinking that they are going to embrace bitcoin but instead that old fucker starts attacking bitcoin as if it was done wrong.

what he proposes would be implemented with colored coins or the other 2.0 things. so let the market decide; maybe it won't accept the bitcoin asset as a widely used currency but rather one of the managed silver-backed assets. still bitcoin the technology is required; he should just learn what BTC is first before criticizing.

I personally don't trust tokens backed by anything because the one backing it up can be raided by FBI so the currency will plummet overnight.
1040  Economy / Speculation / Re: Rally!!!!! on: July 09, 2015, 03:37:45 PM
what gonna happen when the Greece drama is over, would this new rally get cold and the bitcoin price back down to 240s? We need a global rally to at lease get 1 million to 10 million more people into bitcoin so things get back in the high lane.

Greece drama is just the beginning.
