1101  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 bitcoins. Will I be a millionaire by 2020? on: June 30, 2015, 07:15:40 PM
You keep having delusions about the mining supply. Why would demand be stronger just because there is less mining supply? In fact, it'll be a huge challenge at that time, because with such a low mining reward, how many miners will remain? Will they be able to keep the blockchain secure enough?

I would say that bitcoin HAS to succeed before then, in order for it to survive. If bitcoin isn't sufficiently valuable and/or there is not enough transaction volume to allow for a decent mining reward, bitcoin cannot survive, because the network will not be secure enough.

What will drive demand is some sort of a or a few killer apps using bitcoin technology, easier access to bitcoin (KYC turns off a lot of people) and a better understanding of bitcoin in the general population.

the devs should start implementing Proof of Stake mining on bitcoin-core so that when network security drops due to miners quitting we can quickly switch to PoS mining and keep everyone's coins safe.

Bitcoin is massively undervalued and the football cannot be held under water any longer. There will be no next dead cat bounce. It is time for another breakout and all the paid trolls have suddenly disappeared. That's because their masters have shaken out all the weak hands and accumulated enough cheap coins. They are playing for a pump now. We will be dumped on in the future but in the meantime we have our chance to dump before the whales do. Prepare for the climax when massive media attention hits Bitcoin and winglkleswiis announce their ETF. Right now it is the last chance to buy undervalued bitcoins.
1103  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 bitcoins. Will I be a millionaire by 2020? on: June 30, 2015, 12:06:45 PM
YES.

Bitcoin went from 1$ to 1000$ in 5 years.
It will go from 1000$ to 1000000$ in the next 5 years because of the universal law of speculative extrapolation.

100 BTC by 2020 will make you filthy rich. The problem with those kinds of riches is that most people think they don't deserve such wealth so they will make every mistake possible to remain poor.
1104  Economy / Speculation / Re: Stocks fall globally as Greek talks collapse on: June 30, 2015, 11:57:37 AM
Buy bitcoins or cry later.
1105  Economy / Speculation / Re: Permabull Party Thread on: June 30, 2015, 11:53:11 AM
We are going to be soooooooo rich.

We are green 4 weeks in a row. That hasn't happened since the last bubble in 2013, so it's been 1.5 years! First time ever in that period of time we are in green 4 weeks in a row. The winkelsweeds are silent because they have actually completed their ETF and exchange and now they are waiting for the media attention directed towards bitcoin which will soon happen due to the beginning of the next bubble. When that happens, the twins will announce their ETF and amplify the bubble even more. All critical events will happen at the same time when it is the most critical time for the critical events to happen.
1106  Economy / Speculation / Re: New offer from EU commission -> Tsipras will give in today ->Bitcoin back to 240 on: June 30, 2015, 11:42:08 AM
Bitcoin won't fall because it has already proven itself to be superior during crisis like that. People now know that they can trust bitcoin at times when they cannot trust their banks and ATMs. Bitcoin has already won from this, no matter what the politics say or do next. Bitcoin has already closed the deal.

Also, OP is a .
1107  Economy / Speculation / Re: Rally!!!!! on: June 29, 2015, 03:15:38 PM
If Greeks cannot buy bitcoin because bank transfers won't be allowed, then can we buy cheap Greek real estate for bitcoins? seems like legit profit model.
1108  Economy / Speculation / Re: Weekly Parabolic SAR just turned bullish on: June 29, 2015, 11:32:16 AM
So were you saying the same thing in your mind in Nov and Dec or 2014? Because that was an epic fail of an indicator.

nov dec 2014 was a fail in a sense that it only happened on Bitstamp but not on other exchanges. This time it's different because it happened everywhere. Or did it? Post proof if you think otherwise.

edit:
The current situation is in no way a repetition of nov/dec 2014, because we are first time in green 4 weeks IN A ROW after the last bubble:

Also, I never said it's going to be 2k top, don't take those red lines literally, they're just illustrative.

Cyprus all over again. Just on a bigger scale. Strap in.

Snowball effect?

Puerto Rico’s Governor Says Island’s Debts Are ‘Not Payable’

When will they start buying into BTC big time? It should be 300$ by now, what the fuck are they waiting?
1110  Economy / Speculation / Re: Weekly Parabolic SAR just turned bullish on: June 28, 2015, 01:26:14 PM

3rd week confirmation, also we're been in green 3 weeks in a row and I am sure this week will end up as green as well.
1111  Economy / Speculation / Re: Rally!!!!! on: June 28, 2015, 02:03:56 AM
This, on the other hand, has much more potential in creating an actual rally.

cheers

248$ and increasing,

we were at above 250 some day ago, i'm not satisfied at all, i'll begin to be excited when we touch 260-275 range at least

people get happy just because the price went up a few bucks. that's sad. i get excited once we're over the $300 level. any movements below $300 aren't worth waiting for.

Sad when other people are happy? Maybe you should talk to someone.

+1 Cheesy

Interesting, have you dropped your credit cards as well? I have sent similar e-mails to merchants telling them that I am dropping my credit cards and using bitcoins.

Maybe I should create a thread so we can coordinate our e-mails to merchants.

Edit: Here it is
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1100748.0

I have never used my debit card as a credit card because I don't trust it and I don't like the idea of taking a loan. I do use a debit card for OTC purchases. For international purchases I can only use bitcoin because I don't have a paypal account and I don't intend to create one. Also, I don't think online merchants accept SEPA bank transfer as a payment method, although I haven't looked into it.
1114  Economy / Speculation / Re: Amazon is going to accept bitcoin in the near future on: June 25, 2015, 08:39:30 PM
Well, it looks more like a standard automated cut and paste reply to me. From their business viewpoint, they won't integrate as long as the volume is not big but when this starts to go mainstream, I'm sure you don't even need to send an email asking them for a favor. They will voluntarily do it. But I'm sure like every big business entity they are monitoring the progress of bitcoin.

I don't understand why they don't do it already.
Sure, if no one did it before, it would be way to risky, but I mean even Microsoft is already in. What the hell are they losing except clients? eBay needs to get with the times as well, same for Steam.

Accept crypto? Lose money Sad

That's because they decide to hold some of their earnings in BTC. This is not even news. If they started accepting BTC in 2013 they would still be in green.

edit: whatever

Exactly, Steam! They could have in-game payments in bitcoins because that's where bitcoin would really rock.

Has anyone calculated how many nushares one should own in order to get 1 blockshare?

If so then what should be the price of 1 NSR considering that the cost of 1 BSR is/was 4$?
1117  Economy / Speculation / Re: Amazon is going to accept bitcoin in the near future on: June 22, 2015, 02:33:53 PM
This thread's title is misleading, it is a clear statement that Amazon will be accepting Bitcoin soon, which is not true. It should be changed to something that expresses the truth of the matter, like "I asked Amazon to accept Bitcoin in the future".

Exactly, a lowly customer service rep responding to emails wont have much sway in company policy.

That being said it is possible they would start accepting btc as they seem to want to be on the cutting edge with their online shopping "experience"

In past I have made such customer service requests to several other online shops so I know what kind of stuff they would answer. Amazon would have said "We have no plans to integrate Bit Coin payments any time soon. We will let you know if our policy changes", but they didn't. Instead, they answered in a really positive manner in comparison to my previous experiences. That said, it's significant.
1118  Economy / Speculation / Re: Amazon is going to accept bitcoin in the near future on: June 22, 2015, 12:37:55 PM
they still don't provide paypal support and they would respond in the same way if you ask them, still uncertain about their future bitcoin support...

yet i like how you said that you can only pay in bitcoin, i guess one should lie to help bitcoin adoption  Cheesy

Cheesy exactly.

Regarding payment methods, I suspect that credit card giants might be bribing amazon (and possibly other shops) to prevent them from accepting rival payment methods.
1119  Economy / Speculation / Amazon is going to accept bitcoin in the near future on: June 22, 2015, 12:20:08 PM
Contacted their customer support today with the following message:

Quote
Hi!

I can only pay with bitcoins but you don't accept that payment method. I also cannot
exchange the bitcoins for a gift card on a 3rd party web service because none of
them is currently online. Please integrate with bitpay or start accepting bitcoin
payments directly so that I can order from your site.

Got this answer:

Quote
Hello,

I'm sorry if we did not meet your expectations. Unfortunately, we don't process Bit
Coins. However, I sent your inquiry and suggestion to the higher managements since
this is not the first suggestion from a customer. We do hope that in the near
future, we may be able to provide payments in all kind of payment methods.
1120  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New Solution to Block Size Debate on: June 21, 2015, 11:16:30 AM
DOS attack is a practical one. Like I said, I am not against increasing block size limit but I am against removing block size limit.

You are probably right.

You didn't answer this:

Out of curiosity, have you at least took the time to read old discussions to know why a limit was set?
 -snip-

I wonder why, I wonder why Cheesy

Not for Bitcoin. With this, an organization or a person can easily control Bitcoin and do in their way without consensus. This must not be for Bitcoin.

But at what cost?!! Do you have any idea how much would it cost to buy more than 50% of all bitcoins? I guess not.
