21  Economy / Economics / Re: investment mode of btc is best or currency mode??? on: March 19, 2018, 02:52:37 AM
A trend has been started that bitcoin is now used only for raising income by buying and selling it but we are ignoring its most important fact that it was created to be used as currency and if it can be used as the currency it would really help community to enjoy its eases and regions who are accepting btc must have to start it as currency this will automatically boost user no's as well a prices,

This is one of the biggest problems with bitcoins currently. I think even the developers did not wanted bitcoins to be seen as an investment medium when they launched it. However, as the prices started going up, everyone became greedy for money and forget about the real use of bitcoins. When we have price stabilize completely, people will start using it for buying/selling more often. Current situation is like everyone wants to get paid in bitcoins but no buyer want to pay in bitcoins as they think that the value of accumulated coins will increase.
22  Other / Meta / Re: Survey Only, Dont be Harsh to me on: March 18, 2018, 10:03:57 AM
The only solution I see here is close that sMerit system to be fair for all the members here in forum and it can also stop the merit trading, selling or whatever shit can make by those shitmembers.

What message will it give to spammers then ? They will be happy to see that their abused resulted in the admin taking back such a major decision. They will keep repeating the same behavior in case of future changes as well. At such, instead of taking back the merit system, we should look for ways to recognize members abusing it then remove them from this forum. It should not be that hard especially if all the members actively participate in this. Just by using the options like report to moderators for spam posts, you can make a good contribution for the betterment of the forum.

Briefly about merit - his reality and an opportunity (my thoughts)!

The issue system of the merit  receiving on the idea is good, such as initially Nakamoto thought of bitcoin. But unfortunately it isn't in the such fact, I think so.
First, future writing of content doesn't guarantee  diligence from author will be in hundred percentage applications  and consequently also his quality Therefore flood in a branch will remain.
Secondly,so far the order of distribution the merits, doesn't allow to exclude completely multiaccounts and its tranzactions from the account on the account.
And the third point,it will be as a question. Many new users of bitcointalk are engaged not the first year in crypto currency and have, thoughts which can be discussed on the parity rights with experienced users of a forum. But the rank of a their profiles doesn't allow this. Though the person even earlier, than many could create him?
But in general the system of merit honours will be working. May be later we will  see a some changes in it. Having looked at activity of the user and the maintenance of posts, perhaps somehow it will be transformed by sMerit.

I hope that the pursuit for merit won't become a main objective of writing of posts, and will remain the purpose of receiving useful information about the world of cryptocurrency!

Different members join the forum with different intentions. Some are interested in discussions regarding bitcoins and other alt coins. While some are referred by friends and they see the forum as an opportunity to earn from bounties. The first group of users will keep making informative posts as they are not here for bounties. After the merits system, the second group of users will also have to behave like the first group. This is kind of compulsory if they want to rank up and thus the forum will be hugely benefited by this new change.
24  Other / Meta / Re: Members applying in merit campaigns without being eligible on: March 17, 2018, 02:10:09 PM
It is really funny to see some of the responses there. For instance, sometimes you can see a newbie applying and submitting response for wear a signature as yes when he is actually having no signature at all. One more thing that I have seen members abusing while applying is that they put some words like reserved while applying in a campaign and later they edit the post to add the details asked by campaign manger. Not sure if any manager has noticed this so far or not  but never saw any one posting about this issue.

I have also seen members posting messages like "reserved" while applying for signature campaigns. The only reason I can think about this is that they arrange the details like btc addres after posting that message.

They are not able to do that instantly because they are using multiple profiles and have not prepared the details in advance. I will try to post such members when next campaign is announced so that senior members can check their profiles for suspicious behavior.
25  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could bitcoin reach 100.000$ ? on: March 17, 2018, 01:54:07 PM
I read an article a couple of days ago, in which a guy was saying that he thinks bitcoin will reach 100.000 $ by the end of 2018.
What do you guys think?
I'd appreciate pertinent and/or fact based opinions.
Thanks!

I do not think this is going to happen this year. We may see the $100000 level but it will take at least 3 years. Here are some reasons behind it:

1) If we see the current growth rate this year, there has been almost no growth in bitcoin prices this year. The prices have remain almost at same level- $10000. On the other hand, last year we saw huge increase in prices.

2) A lot of alt coins are entering the market and thus the investments are getting distributed. In few years, we will see a lot of these coins completely wiped out from market.
26  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Is bitcoin going down again? on: March 17, 2018, 01:43:01 PM
Well there might be various reasons. First the news that google is going to ban cryptocurrency ads might be contributing to the drop. There also might be some whales trying to manipulate the price of bitcoins by selling and waiting for btc's price to drop and then they'll buy a huge amount of btc again. Also some fake/half-true news or rumors which gets spread due to media might also add to the drop.

Google banning bitcoins is certainly a disappointing news but they have given some time. Other than this, there has been no valid negative related to bitcoins. I just see fake negative news related to bitcoins being spread everywhere. Some websites are saying that now people are using monero for illegal activities instead of bitcoins and thus the demand has decreased. It is funny in my opinions as earlier people were against bitcoins because it was being used for illegal activities.
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we now in a time of total uncertainty on: March 17, 2018, 01:32:06 PM
Do people think we are now in a time of real uncertainty over what the price is going to do next.  It seems to defy all logic.  I thought it would go down a few days ago but it didn't.  And now it has gone down today.  Will it go further down from here around 8.1k now at this time or will it go up again over the next few days.  This must be putting people off investing.  Or are people just optimistic.

I completely agree to this. There is lot of uncertainty currently regarding bitcoin prices. I do not mind prices dropping as it is obvious that prices will go up and down based on supply and demand.  But the issue is that there is no clear reason behind the prices getting down.

In the long run, I still see my investments in profit and that is the reason I am not withdrawing any money even if the prices are going down for last few weeks. It should not go below $7000 in my opinion.

28  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Simple PROOF that Bitcoin and cryptos are Ponzi schemes on: March 09, 2018, 02:47:34 PM
Here are some arguments against this:

1) In a ponzi scheme you are paid some monetary reward to add more members below you. There is no such thing with bitcoins and new investors are attracted after listenign to the experiences of other investors.

2) Most of the ponzi schemes make use of some product line (at ridiculous price) to look genuine. There are no such products here.

3) Finally, have you seen any ponzi scheme that ran successfully for 9 years. Do you think that major economies of the world are juts stupid that they will let it run if it was ponzi scheme.

29  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN AND ITS ENDING? on: March 09, 2018, 02:40:47 PM
Is there any ending or not?

No one can tell this with guarantee. But unless you are 15 years or less, this should not make any difference. If you are 25 or above and investing in bitcoins, you should not even think about its end. It is not gong anywhere for next 50 years or so. Leave that, if you are able to remain invested for even 10 years with an amount like $20000 or above, you will get enough to retire and live a lavish life. Then why to worry about something which we have no control on  and which will happen after we have left this earth. Smiley
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin to eliminate unemployment. on: March 09, 2018, 02:35:20 PM
I must say, you really do have a point there man, I too think that this is the case and that the very few that are unemployed that have heard about bitcoins and the crypto industry are even divided unevenly into two having people that are too skeptical and close minded to even try looking for answers for themselves and a few others that really risk it and let themselves experience new things. But even so, I think that this year will be a different one and we might see changes in numbers sooner or later.

Problem is how those unemployed people will get money to invest in bitcoins. Some of my friends are still unemployed and they cannot do freelance work either. They have to rely on money given by parents to manage their expenses. Now they may save like $20 or so per month for this bitcoin investment but this will not result in any considerable profit. To make a good amount with this they need some revolutionary coin that can go to 100 times of its current vale in an year.
31  Other / Meta / Re: Members applying in merit campaigns without being eligible on: March 09, 2018, 02:25:49 PM
For instance, some members are also in the habit of trying to jump from one particular campaign(when accepted already) to another even with same requirement, pay and opened same  time.
Check yahoo's anger, the first time I read his angry comment   Grin https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3036499.msg31272981#msg31272981

I think members should be responsible .

I am happy that yahoo expressed his opinion regarding this and I will be delighted if other campaign managers follow this. First they are providing us with an earning opportunity and ensuring that we get paid on time. And in return they have to deal with this crap. Just think how annoying can it be for a person managing multiple campaigns to see such responses on all his campaigns. There are members who start using bad words for the whole campaign even if it has been running for 6 months or more and they had been getting paid every time. They cannot adjust with one delay but they want the campaign manager to adjust with 3-4 less posts. Smiley
32  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: March 09, 2018, 02:20:28 PM
2) Are you making enough posts: The number of posts you made so far are also very less. The more posts you make, more are the chances of getting noticed.

That is terrible advice. Spend 10x more time reading and learning from the forum than you do posting. That way you stand a chance to gain some knowledge and then make a valuable contribution when you do post. Over-posting just to increase activity was the very problem the merit system was brought in to solve. Making more posts if you have nothing to add to the conversation will certainly get you noticed, but only as a spammer.

I never meant that one should compromise with the quality of posts while making those posts. I do agree with you regarding new members spending more time to acquire some knowledge first. Once that part is done and if a member is able to give sufficient time, he can post frequently. He will no doubt have more chances of getting merits than a member making less number of posts of same quality. It is just my opinion though based on my personal experience. I am not active on this forum for all seven days of the forum though as my other works do not allow me to.
33  Other / Meta / Re: Members applying in merit campaigns without being eligible on: March 09, 2018, 02:16:04 PM
I could fill a whole section of the forum with users who do not qualify for a campaign but apply anyways. I could also fill another section with users who do not follow the rules of the campaigns most of the time.

What it all boils down to is basic ignorance and disregard for rules. Alot of these users see a campaign open and apply blindly. They don't read any rules or requirements at all. They were just told, by their friends, that they could earn money making posts here. Those types of users are the type of user this forum does not need.

I see all kinds of ignorance on here. Users that will not make a post period unless they are in a sig campaign. They're not here to learn about bitcoin or other useful alts. They are here to earn money period. I'm not against someone earning some money for posting, but they should at least have an interest in something besides the money. It's very sad to grade the sheets every day and see the users that if the requirement is 25 posts, they do exactly 25 posts. Then if a thread is deleted and they lose 1-2 posts, I get a message whining "please pay me".

If you're gonna apply for a job, you should ALWAYS read the rules for said job if you expect to be paid. If you don't plan on reading the rules and requirements, don't cry when you're not paid or land on a blacklist.

Users should just be casually posting on topics that are of interest to them. Making 10-25 posts a week should be nothing if you only have 1 account and browse the forum.

I know that there are a lot of issues caused by ignorant members:

1) I remember you mentioning that some of the members started to apply for new campaign even after getting accepted in a campaign even though the pay is same. Now what to say about these members. They not only cause a lot of confusion and time waste for the campaign manager, sometimes take the opportunity from other deserving members.

2) Another thing that the participants need to work on is the patience. Even if the funds are Escrowed and the campaign is manged by a reputed member, some people start questioning the credibility of the manager if there is delay of just few hours or a day. One should also be smart enough to check if the payment has been initiated or not by checking their own wallet address in sites like https://blockchain.info/ . I will try to make a separate thread for all this if time allows.

34  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Homeless use Bitcoin on: March 09, 2018, 12:09:37 PM
If he knows about cryptocurrency and have his wallet address why he can't earn some money with this knowledge. Because he don't want to work. I would not give him a cent. He choosed his way to live.

It is really funny how beggars are also adapting to the new technologies. There is a YouTube video where a beggar goes to a person for some money and the person says that he does not carry cash as he pays by card. The beggar takes out a card swipe machine from the bag and then asks the person to pay by card. I cannot comment about how many people actually support these beggars with cash in your country but here a beggar will always get sufficient to eat and save some. There had been incidences where they managed to save $5000 or so in few years.
35  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the digital dollar on: March 09, 2018, 12:06:38 PM
Yeah, we can say in that way also "Bitcoin is a digital dollar". But as per the growth, technology and concept Bitcoin is awesome and dollar is just a paper which will lose its value once Bitcoin is accepted by everyone in the planet. In terms of potential, safety, security, anonymous and decentralised one Bitcoin is the best and the greatest of all currency or crypto.

The benefits you mentioned are certainly there but what about the practical aspect. Will a roadside food stall accept bitcoins ? Will you be able to buy vegetables from a local seller for bitcoins. All of them do not have access to internet of a bitcoin wallet to receive the money. Even if you find someone with these resources, is bitcoin practical for small transactions. Consider buying a packet of milk, paying by bitcoin and then waiting for 30 minutes to get the transaction confirmation.
36  Other / Meta / Re: Members applying in merit campaigns without being eligible on: March 09, 2018, 12:03:47 PM
Dont you have anything better to do? For example participating in campaigns to earn some money...
Stop wasting your time on things that don't affect you!
People are joining everything nowadays without reading the rules anyway.

Most of the members forget that anything affecting this forum is indirect affecting you as well as you are a member. If all people started ignoring the scammers and frauds happening here, what a nice place it will become ?

Regarding me joining a campaign, I am lucky that I was accepted even though I am new here. It does not mean that I got no responsibility towards this forum and I should be content with the money I am making with the campaign.
37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are so many people against bitcoin? on: March 09, 2018, 11:57:54 AM
Some people are against bitcoin, because they don't undersand what is it. The banks and most of the politicians hate bitcoins because it might affect their business.

In my country a lot of politicians are investing their own black money in bitcoins. This is the reason they have not made any law against the bitcoins here in 8 years as it will require shutting down all the local exchanges. They do not need to worry about the tax part as well as they have multiple servants and their KYC which they use for registering multiple accounts on these exchanges and then invest through these accounts. In countries where politicians are banning bitcoins, they are doing injustice to middle class which can benefit a lot from it.
38  Other / Meta / Re: Yardstick for Activity rise on the Bitcoin Forum on: March 09, 2018, 11:50:22 AM
I have been on the platform for quite sometime now and while i am grateful for my growth thus far, I am wondering the rationale for activity growth. I just saw someone with an activity rank of 64 as a Member, yet I and others have higher activity ratings and still have lower ranks on this forum. Is there something I do not know yet? I hope to get good explanatory responses. Thanks

In addition to activity, you also need merits now to rank up to next level. You can read all the requirements related to merits on the official thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0

As per your current profile stats, you do not have any merit. You can get merits bu making good quality constructive posts. In order to know everything about the merit system, I advise you to go through all the replies made in the thread as well. You will get all answers like "Why I cannot see the send merit button? " " What is the procedure to send merits"  and many more.

39  Other / Meta / Members applying in merit campaigns without being eligible on: March 09, 2018, 11:47:11 AM
While searching for a campaign to apply, I saw that a lot of members are posting in different campaigns even if they do not fulfill any criteria:

1) I saw some newbies with 3-4 posts applying. Made me laugh.

2) Some of the high rank members are also applying without reading the requirements.

So here are some members doing this :

Campaign 1 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2956154.0

a) Member: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1081394
120 merits are required for full member but he is applying with 101 merit.

Btctalk name: Aryanto28
Rank: full member
Current post count: 242+1
BTC Address:1AmV41YswH1tRFPVmzkZ1N5LJhzbeMe5Xs
Wear appropriate signature: yes
Wear avatar: yes

I, really hope to be accepted in this campaign sir.

b) Member https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2956154.80
15 merits are required for member but  he is applying with 10.

Btctalk name: Bugoy.koykoy
Rank: member
Current post count: 92
BTC Address: 3GYdcyNycy922cGE1etppXTPotHwfhDUXL
Wear appropriate signature: yes
Wear avatar: n/a

Plss accept me sir yahoo62278.

I will add more in future.
40  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: March 09, 2018, 11:39:26 AM
Does this mean I must to have 10 merits to be able to rank up to member rank?
I'm not sure I can get merit, because for me to get 1 merit it is very difficult.

Have you analysed the reasons why you are having hard time getting a merit:

1) Are you making the required effort: I went through some of your old posts and it clearly shows that they are not of very high quality. Since there is huge competition for merit points, you will have to defeat others in terms of quality.

2) Are you making enough posts: The number of posts you made so far are also very less. The more posts you make, more are the chances of getting noticed.

Finally, you also need to active and creative to increase the chances. For instance, some members are getting good number of merits for images they created.
