21  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Error in seed phrase generation on Coinomi??? on: August 17, 2020, 01:38:07 PM
Hi. I was wondering if anyone can help me out here??? I just generated a new coinomi wallet and it gave me two of the exact same words back to back in my 24 word recovery phrase. The penultimate two words before the last one in my phrase are the exact same. I thought that was weird as I was under the impression that they're meant to be randomly generated and the odds of that happening must be astronomical. Then when it asks me to confirm my seed on the next page I get all the way to the last three and when I click on the first same word both of them disappear when I click one of them but only one is logged which then leaves me with the last word, but when I click that it won't let me proceed, so I'm guessing this is an error. I can skip the step but if I've got a faulty seed then obviously that's very bad, so does anyone know whats gone wrong here??? Hope that makes sense. Thanks.
22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter Hackers Arrested! [Updated] on: August 03, 2020, 10:52:43 AM
Reminds me of the Ross Ulbricht situation where he was a smart guy but got by one simple screw up that was tied to him personally.

Not an ordinary kid, the Prosecutor is right because this kid has some special talent which can be use to grow himself in techy world but this kid was wrong on committing a crime that could take his freedom and develop his skills. Maybe he thought this is just a game, they are playing with it but not knowing how they'll end up if they got caught.

I read in the news that these hackers were able to amassed around $100k of bitcoin, but not sure on how much they really make in total, maybe higher, but it doesn't matter now, what matter is the perpetrator got arrested and their scams has stopped, for sure this is a group, hopefully he will cooperate so others will be arrested too and pay for their crimes.

https://twitter.com/zackwhittaker/status/1283594532140056576

I don't have any sympathy for them. They knew what they were doing and they were trying to scam innocent people (though you had to be pretty stupid to fall for their obvious doubler scam). They were apparently making a lot of money hacking into old and abandoned twitter accounts and selling them for big money. If you have a twitter with an in demand name or and 'OG' account you can sell them for quite a lot.

I wonder if he'll have to work for the government while he's doing his time. Definitely worth using his talent in a benevolent way

Why would he have to work for them? He'll get a prison term not a slavery deal.

I wonder if he'll have to work for the government while he's doing his time. Definitely worth using his talent in a benevolent way

Same with my thinking right now. With his capabilities, this talent can be use by the government.

There's a good place for him to develop more without breaking any laws again, if he will enhance his skills by helping the government

he will be more useful from his chosen filled.

Maybe he should have used his talents better in the first place and got a good paying job rather than becoming a cyber thief.

24  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: July 24, 2020, 08:08:00 PM
So who's going to go down in the Premier League??? SkySports have laid out the issues and hurdles each threatened team have to face:

https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11661/12027448/who-is-staying-up-in-the-premier-league-aston-villa-watford-or-bournemouth

Quote
Aston Villa (34 points; Goal difference - 26)

Remaining fixture: West Ham (a)

Beat West Ham, and Dean Smith's side should survive. But with Watford and Bournemouth facing tricky games against Arsenal and Everton respectively, they may not even need to take three points as they look to secure their Premier League status.

Watford (34 points; Goal difference - 27)
Remaining fixture: Arsenal (a)

Watford now need to better Villa's result on the final day in order to stay up - or hope that Villa lose by a margin of two goals more than them.

Bournemouth (31 points; Goal difference -27)
Remaining fixture: Everton (a)

Watford's defeat to Manchester City on Tuesday handed them a lifeline, but Aston Villa's victory over Arsenal was bad news for them. They are now three points behind both of their rivals, their only hope of survival being if they beat Everton on the final day, and Watford and Villa lose to Arsenal and West Ham respectively. Goal difference would then be their saviour.

Anything could happen, but I think it's going to be Watford and Bournemouth who goes down. Bournemouth absolutely need to win to have even a chance of staying up. Aston Villa should be able to get a point from West Ham which would save them if Watford lose which I think is likely unless they have that fighting for their life mentality but without a point from the Arsenal game Watford will likely go down.
25  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Don't buy facemasks for the coronavirus! on: July 23, 2020, 05:52:32 PM
I'm skeptical of the actual usefulness of facemasks too but we're being forced to wear them now where I live in most stores. I just bought a pack of 5 bandanas from ebay with elasticated bands for less than $10 so I just wear one round my neck and then pop it over my face if a shop requires me to do so. Much better and more stylish than wearing a mask and they can be washed as well.

Let not all people understand that masks are almost useless, but it seems to me that everyone should understand things that were obvious from the very beginning.
Such as the fact that masks do not help when wearing them outdoors. Every day I see a lot of people walking down the street wearing masks.
But even more fun I find those who wear masks in their private cars.

It gives the illusion of safety to some. I've also seen people wearing them in a car when they're by their self. I've also noticed that people actually cross the street to avoid you or give you a four meter wide birth like you have the plague or something. It's crazy. I think I'd pretty much have to sneeze directly into your path or face for you to catch it outside.
26  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Stefan Molyneux Youtube Account and 2k Reddit Subs Terminated Today.. on: July 23, 2020, 05:42:48 PM
I think companies like Youtube and reddit and so on will just end up shooting themselves in the foot with these bannings as people will just flock to other competitor sites so all this is doing is bolstering them.

People say this but don't realize the type of monopoly that large social media companies have. Facebook and Twitter are the top two social media sites and there isn't a single other platform that's going to get close. Instagram maybe, but that isn't used often in political discourse, and it's owned by Facebook regardless so the policies are going to be identical. People can flock over where ever they want, their voices aren't going to be heard.

I realize it, but people trickling away can grow into a ravenous ravine gushing users away eventually, especially when more and more users are being censored and even banned which forces them to go elsewhere. These big companies can lose their dominance also. Remember myspace??? If something better comes along then social media sites can go the way of the dodo or myspace. I don't think Facebook and Twitter are invincible, though if anything did threaten their dominance they'd probably just buy buy them out like Facebook bought Instagram and Whatsapp amongst other things.

It's futile anyway as you can't shut everyone up. Unless people are posting things that are illegal they should just let people be and encourage people to just block users on sites like YouTube and Twitter if they don't like what people are saying.

The issue of companies adopting a policy like this is that it creates a toxic platform that invites controversies and drives advertisers out. Reddit had this problem when they had subreddits that were dedicated to posting hate against fat people (r/fatpeoplehate) and underage girls (r/jailbait). Both communities were banned ages ago, and both communities were probably "technically" legal.

I think this is more of an issue of how those companies advertising system works and they should be able to find a way not to show ads for Coca Cola and McDonalds on problematic users or pages. I remember the first youtube adpocalypse and they the just kind of did a blanket ban on anything that might barely cross the line, including using profanity and so on, but what they should have done it just let advertisers choose what sort of channels or content they want to be associated with. I get that Coca Cola and Disney don't want to be advertising on ISIS videos and people with edgy content, but there are also advertisers who do want to advertise with the edgier crowd and there is a huge market for that content.

Banning people just because they say something liberals don't like shouldn't be going on and I hope people do start using other sites where they allow free speech. Places like Twitter have just become like an echo chamber for idiots and people screaming into the void desperate to be heard. Half the time the only things that are trending negativity and trying to get people 'cancelled'.

Agreed. Twitter's favorite pastime is digging up 15 year old statements and trending the hashtag ___isoverparty because cancel culture is mortally virtuous apparently.

Yup, this stuff is getting very pathetic. There should be some sort of statute of limitations on this sort of stuff. People shouldn't have to apologize for things they said ten years ago. I mean how far back do we go??? I used to piss the bed and suck on my mom's tits so should that be held against me at some point? Back in high school practically half the school used to use the word 'gay' to mean something shitty. If I'd have had twitter back then I'm sure I would have used it, but I wasn't homophobic then and I'm not now. People say stupid shit but it's their intent that should be looked at. The blackface controversy is another thing. There's a very big difference between actual blackface which is obviously meant to denigrate and mock an entire race based on gross stereotypes and then comedians doing an impression of a person who happens to be black. I mean, there are actual KKK members and people who would love to hurt you because of your skin color but I don't think Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon are two of them. I actually think it would be more discriminatory if comedians actually did a blanket ban on making jokes that involve black people bbut libtards are gonna libtard.
27  Other / Meta / Re: Serious discussion and Ivory Tower on: July 23, 2020, 05:19:22 PM
Please can we support these boards. I've always thought that they have great potential for sensible discussions, but they still don't seem to get a lot of activity. Are people really influenced by the lack of signatures and post count increases? Bitcoin Talk has a wealth of intelligent  and knowledgeable members - lets try to recreate the interaction that was one of the strengths of the forum.

But do you want them to get popular??? If they did then maybe the level of discussion would also drop so be careful what you wish for  Grin Grin Grin. . As you said however, I think that because people can't monetize their posts in there that will be a big factor in why they're not as popular, but there are also a lot of people who post elsewhere that don't have a paid signature. I think the fact that they're out of the way down at the bottom of the 'other' section of the board also makes them harder to find and less likely to be posted in. All the sub boards in the 'other' section are probably the least popular and the further down you go they get even more so like Off Topic and then obviously below that is Serious Discussion and then Ivory Tower within that.
28  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are happy only when the price goes up? on: July 10, 2020, 03:18:52 PM
Not everyone is happy. Some people are happy when it falls because they buy the dips. Then you hold. Not much point buying in when its skyrocketing but crypto is all about timing. People tend to either go all in and hold their bags for fear of missing out, or then panic and FOMO when a coin starts to rise suddenly and madly pile in but lose all their gains when people start to dump it and then they're left with a bad they overpaid for.

No problem, but it states I need to do this within the hour as it will expire, but the emails don't come for hours if at all so the links are expired by the time I get them. I tried to do this again this morning and the same thing happens only the email hasn't come through at all yet. So frustrating.

I've been seeing this Elon Musk scam on youtube the past few days or so. They were using another celebrity as well but I can't recall who it was right now, but I was surprised youtube was pushing these ads. They weren't on the actual videos themselves but the image adverts to the right of the video. Don't they have people vetting these before they go up? They should be liable if people start to lose money on them as they're essentially promoting scams.
33  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Paedophile or need new terms? on: January 09, 2020, 02:08:04 PM
Well the technical definition of a pedophile is someone who has sex with a pre-pubescent child but people often use the term pedo or nonce colloquially for anyone who has sex with people younger than them. I do think doing it merely by age isn't always right. That makes it ok to have sex with someone on their 18th birthday but you do it a day before and you're a sex offender? Obviously that isn't right and there's lots of factors that should be considered. For instance, it probably isn't ok to sleep with an 18 year old who has some sort of mental deficiency or is very immature but if you go just by age then apparently there's nothing wrong with that.

In Italy we can at 14. In many countries this is not socially acceptable and 18 is the requirement. Happily I am not born there.

To the United States are many in Italy therefore paedophiles?

I became interested when I noted a important member of United Kingdom monarchy  for allegedly sleeping with a young girl. When I took note of the photo the girl looks very appealing, she was 17.  Not telling my friends, I asked them would you like to have sex with this female. All replied it is a simple decision and immediate one, yes of course.  Some are as old as 29 or 34.

The age of consent in the UK is 16 and I assume you're talking about Prince Andrew??? If so, I think the controversy was more around him being a married Prince and Epstein possibly having groomed/trafficked these girls than having sex with a 17 year old which wouldn't have been a crime, but might have been if it happened in the States. Either way it doesn't look good for the Royals.

This is a message from my cousin, he wanted to join and post for himself here, but his ip is evil and this forum does not allow him to join at this time, he has not the required bitcoins to fix this problem. I'm posting for sensible feedback, primarily for the age bracket idea. Discussion there of. The remaining story can be ignored.

"Cousin". I'm not sure if this will stand up in court  Grin.

The Standard Creepiness Rule says don't date anyone under half your age plus seven. Thus two 14-year-olds dating is (just barely) acceptable, as is an 18- and a 16-year-old. A 50-year-old shouldn't be with anyone under the age of 32.

Speak for yourself. I'm a very long way off 50 but I doubt I'd be turning many 30 year old's away if they were interested.
34  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Count down to Iran invasion on: January 03, 2020, 02:39:42 PM
Thread suddenly relevant I see. You think the US will strike Iran first?

I doubt it. Under what grounds??? But I guess you can say they've already made the first move now with this attack but they'll just wait for a retaliation rather than a direct invasion. A lot of buzz about Iran retaliation with 'asymmetrical warfare' rather than with direct military response:

https://twitter.com/ColinPClarke/status/1213071969719115777
https://twitter.com/lindseyhilsum/status/1213101525893074949

Either way I think this is just going to escalate things across the middle east which isn't good. I don't think it's any secret that the US has wanted to invade Iran for a while and I'm surprised they haven't already. Trump previously seemed like he was against needless wars but he's got an ego so big that I think that would soon change if there was retaliation. I'm sure he'll have war hawks whispering in his ear as well. I don't think going to war would be good for his reelection campaign either assuming he isn't impeached before then.

Klopp's Liverpool breaks all records.
They won again and they seem to be unstoppable - no team in Premier League can compete them and win them. It would be a great bet to gamble for Liverpool to finish this season unbeatable - I wonder if bookers provide such a bet.

What records have they broken??? All I can see is a passing one: https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/liverpool-break-record-for-most-premier-league-passes-in/rkktr4oxe8i61bsh1pw2uvuj6 lol

Liverpool become a strong team this season maybe this will be a new history for Klopp, if Liverpool EPL league champions this season unbeaten I am sure all Liverpool players will become world stars because they are able to operate the ball well and a solid team.
There is no need to worry about betting on Liverpool because I am sure this will be your winning bet and will win every time you support it.

I wouldn't count them as a sure bet for every match, especially not against troublesome teams. Liverpool can afford to take their foot off the gass especially with such a strong lead and a game in hand and they might do when they've got champions league games. They certainly fieielded a

Leicester is third at the table...  If they maintain it and actually qualifies for the CL mext year, maybe it's another chance to put some action on them to win a long shot.  Grin

Well done to Leicester. It is great for neutrals who want more than just Liverpool and Manchester City battling it out. Good to see Chelsea under Lampard and of course Leicester under Rodgers in the top 4.

I agree. The season Leicester won it it was probably the most exciting league in years. I was actually watching as many games as I could and I was cheering them on like they was my own team.I even remember being quite deflated and depressed when they lost to Arsenal quire late in the season and it looked like they might have given the title to them.

But I don't see them competing for a top 4 spot. Once Man Utd, Spurs, and Arsenal get their shit together, Leicester will go back to where they belong, outside of the top 6.
nal and Chelsea vs Man Utd in the EFL cup 4th round. But first, Crawley Town vs Colchester United tomorrow! don't miss it!!

I don't see Spurs getting a top 5 spot this season. I don't think Manchester United will either unless they can turn their forum around. Beating Norwich isn't a surprise though. Looks like they've got a run of easy games coming up now, or not necessarily easy but lower-table teams like Bournemouth, Brighton, Sheff United & Villa.

The big match on November 10 was really eagerly awaited. Only 2 possibilities occur for Manchester city, Farther behind or they are getting closer. This is indeed very decisive for Liverpool in the future.

What if the game gets called off?  Grin If Manchester City win both their fixtures against Liverpool then I think they will be equal on points. BOth games will likely be close and I would go for maybe both home wins or draws on either leg. Maybe a draw at Anfield and a win  for City at the Etihad.
37  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: October 15, 2019, 01:18:31 PM
Lampard痴 proved in 3 months that he痴 a better manager than Solksjaer & he wasn稚 even permitted to sign anybody in the summer. Solksjaer will be sacked by New Year I think.

I don't think it proves he's a better manager as there's lots of factors involved. I don't think Man United's bad form is just down to Ollie. They're just not playing well as a team and its been the same for all their managers since Fergie left really. I don't think sacking him will do much good and I'm sure whoever they get would just go on to have the same run of form more or less. The game against Liverpool will be crucial for him. I don't think anyone expects United to win, but if they can or at the very least scrape a point from the match then maybe that will give Ollie a lifeline. Who would even want to manage United at this point??? Seems like career suicide at this point.

How do you win?Huh Doesn't seem to say how its scored.

What do you mean?  Just pick 7 correct goal scorers at the given matches and you win 1 BTC.  5 and 6 correct picks have consolation prizes.

Well I wasn't sure whether it was some sort of fantasy thing where you have to pick the best player. It doesn't seem to say anywhere that it's the goalscorer and they include the keeper so that's what had me questioning. Is it to score anytime or be the first scorer?
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2019-09-27]Bitcoin Chaos Continues As Facebook痴 Mark Zuckerberg Reveals... on: September 28, 2019, 08:12:39 AM
Instead of Zucerkberg billing this as a new crypto he should have just announced some sort of blockchain-backed payment processor instead. Basically like a blockchain Paypal and make money like they do with fees. Trying to create your own currency is just asking for heat from the fed and the powers that be. They're going to come down on him hard because basically anyone creating their own currency is a huge threat to them, but the great thing about bitcoin is that there's no point of attack because there's no figurehead or central authority to go after. When something goes wrong or people start using the currency in a way the authorities don't like there's someone they can go after and fine or imprison or lean on to try shut it down since there is a company/person behind it. Good luck with that, Mark. Long live Bitcoin and true crypto.
39  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: September 28, 2019, 07:48:27 AM

Such interesting matches from that draw.
I think it would be great to see Chelsea getting a win against Manchester United, as this would be good for Lampard's morale and for the players' as well.
Liverpool won't have any difficulty against Arsenal.

I hope Chelsea also get that victory. Because I think United have not been at the point of their best performance, with the condition of United States now, Chelsea might be able to take advantage of this situation. Unlike Liverpool, they will win even if their opponents can complicate it.

Manchester United beat Chelsea 4 - 0 on the opening day, and I知 sure they値l beat Chelsea again by a big margin. While Chelsea has been performing way better than anyone could have anticipated, I yet feel they値l be under lots of pressure when they face Manchester United in the fourth round. Anyone planning to gamble on Manchester United vs Arsenal, it値l be a low scoring game so I知 having second thoughts about placing a bet.

I'm not betting on it but I can see it being low scoring. 1-1 or maybe even goalless. On the other hand though I wouldn't be surprised if it's a goalfest as both teams are unpredictable right now. I think if United lose though Solksjar will be in big trouble. How long can he go on losing, especially at home???

Anyone that plans to wager any money on that match plays with fire. It's hard to expect anything expectable from this teams. They are inconsistent, they have too many weaknesses, they lack in every aspect of the game. It's no surprise that they are laughing stock of the league.

Here is a perfect gif for this match that I found on the internet. Jesse Lingard on the left, David Luiz on the right:

Lol. Absolutely comical. Almost looks like a comedy sketch or something. Is that on youtube?

October is gonna be a very hard month for Manchester Utd. They have to face Arsenal and Tottenham in EPL and Chelsea in EFL. While those teams are not running in that much of a good form but Manchester Utd is having the form far worse than them. I even have doubts against Newcastle and Norwich fixtures.
I am very certain that we can get some victory from the Arsenal game especially since we are playing the game from Old Trafford and we will be facing Liverpool instead Tottenham Hotspurs during the month of October and we will undoubtedly lose that game considering that we are going to be playing at anfield.

They lost to both Crystal Palace and Cardiff City at Old Trafford this season. I don't see Arsenal winning but it could be close and I'd go for a draw if I was betting as Arsenal are playing better than United right now.

I am not sure if I can do my majestic seven in FortuneJack for this round. I always use Tor with Firefox but from the day before yesterday I can not login using tor. It always keep saying the login details are not correct. It happened when I was talking to their customer support about the 2mBTC which I was suppose to get from last round. I got three correct pick.

I talked to their customer support about this login issue and they advised me to use chrome. Now with chrome I have my wifi IP and the ISP blocked any gambling site LOL

Can anyone try using tor if they can login to FJ? According to the customer support it's something in my side so they said they can not help. 😥

Just use a proxy. Tor is far too slow for things like using gambling sites. Gambling sites will probably think you're up to no good using tor. Just get a proxy and log in from the same one each time so you don't get locked out.

I have placed a crazy bet for Everton to win tomorrow in a cryptobetting platform, Kryptium. The odds are 1.91 for draw or City to win. Anyone wanna join??
